Abstract

The article cites a research study that examines the role of trauma exposure and posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in the development of obesity in veterans. Recent studies have indicated that PTSD may be associated with obesity among men over the age of 60. Some studies have claimed that genetic liability may predispose some individuals to trauma exposure, PTSD and obesity.
