Determines whether partial agonists could stimulate a measurable increase in cAMP accumulation in CHO-K1 cells in the absence of phosphodiesterase inhibitor (IBMX). Use of isprenaline and salmeterol for stimulation; Generation of [sup3]H-cAMP inside cells within minutes of addition of an efficacious agonist; Need to monitor cAMP secretion over longer time in case of weak responses and absence of IBMX.
