Abstract

The article examines the extraction of cell nuclei from breast cancer histopathologyimages through information on texture, shape, colour and scale. The study shows the tendency of contours to match irregularities found within the cell nuclei rather than their actual boundaries. It points out that the probability map improves this problem making nuclei boundaries more salient and smoothed out the other irregular features.
