The article presents the first report of Carnation mottle virus (CarMV) in Turkey. It is reported that the detection of CarMV in Antalya, Turkey prompted screening for CarMV after which samples representing 17 distinct cultivars were collected via surveys. Most of the samples were found to be infected with CarMV after being tested by reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR). These samples were also tested for Carnation etch ring virus, but none were tested positive.
