The article discusses the enantioselective catalysis of carbonyl ene reactions of substrate using heterogeneous catalysts which is based on metal-organic frameworks. Topics include the benefits of utilizing heterogeneous catalysts based metal-organic frameworks to conventional homogeneous system and the improvements to the reactions results when utilizing unscrambled mixed catalysts.

A dual neutral-cationic rhodium(I)-catalyzed Pauson–Khand-type reaction using formaldehyde as a carbonyl source is described. The simultaneous use of neutral rhodium(I) and cationic rhodium(I) complexes is required for efficient cooperative catalysis, which involves the neutral rhodium(I)-catalyzed decarbonylation of formaldehyde and the cationic rhodium(I)-catalyzed cyclocarbonylation of 1,6-enynes using the resulting carbonyl moiety. Abstract: An unusual crystallization affording an apparently pseudoachiral crystal from single enantiomers 1a and 1b was observed. In cases of enantiopure molecules such as 1a and 1b with structural flexibility, the tendency toward a centrosymmetric arrangement was so overwhelming that apparently achiral crystals were formed even by homochiral compounds via the formation of a pseudo-centrosymmetric asymmetric unit accompanying structural adjustment.
