Background: Skeletal muscle loss is prevalent throughout the cancer continuum and correlated with morbidity and mortality. Resistance exercise has been trialed to mitigate skeletal muscle loss. This systematic review summarizes and qualitatively synthesizes the effects of resistance exercise on muscle-related outcomes in adult cancer populations, including skeletal muscle mass, performance and muscle-related biomarkers. Methods: The systematic review protocol was developed in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Protocols (PRISMA-P). We searched electronic databases including AMED, CENTRAL, CINAHL, CIRRIE, EMBASE, MEDLINE, PEDro, REHABDATA, Scopus, and SPORTDiscus from inception to December 2021. We included randomized controlled trials that investigated the effects of resistance exercise on muscle-related outcomes in adult cancer populations. Interventions that involved any resistance exercise were included. Muscle-related outcomes were categorized as skeletal muscle mass (e.g., lean mass, appendicular muscle mass), muscle performance (e.g., muscle strength, physical function), and muscle-related biomarkers (e.g., muscle cells, metabolic/inflammatory markers). Risk of bias (RoB) was assessed using the Cochrane ROB tool. Results: A total of 102 studies from 101 randomized controlled trials were included. The majority of studies focused on breast cancer (46%) and those who completed treatment (43%). Resistance exercise interventions were largely 3-4 months long (48%), combined with aerobic exercise (56%), at a vigorous intensity (25%), and in-person/supervised settings (57%). Among the studies assessing muscle mass, performance, and biomarkers (n = 42, 83, and 22, respectively), resistance exercise interventions improved upper/lower body or appendicular muscle mass (67%-100%), muscle strength (61%-68%), and physical function (74%-100%). Most biomarkers did not show significant changes (75%-100%) or showed inconsistent results. Conclusions: Generally, resistance exercise had positive effects on skeletal muscle mass and performance with no negative effects compared to controls. Around 42% of individuals with cancer experience distress. Acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) can reduce distress, but effects are small, and mechanisms unclear. This review aimed to identify associations between ACT processes and distress in cancer. Search terms included cancer, ACT processes, self-compassion, and distress. Six online databases and grey literature were searched until March 2022. Of 6555 papers screened, 108 studies were included with 17,195 participants. Five meta-analyses of 77 studies were conducted. Random effects meta-analyses of correlations revealed higher scores on flexible processes (acceptance, present moment awareness, self-compassion) were associated with lower distress (rpooled = -0.24, -0.39, -0.48, respectively); whilst higher scores on inflexible processes (experiential avoidance, cognitive fusion) were associated with higher distress (rpooled = 0.58, 0.57, respectively). Meta-analyses displayed moderate-to-high heterogeneity with most studies assessed as low risk of bias. Meta-regressions revealed no significant moderators (stage, time since diagnosis, gender and age). This review provides a theoretically aligned evidence base for associations between ACT processes and distress in cancer, supporting elements of ACT theory and providing targeted directions for intervention development. Due to limited evidence, future research should focus on self-as-context, values and committed action and conduct mediation analysis in controlled trials of ACT processes on distress in cancer. The oncology community has shown growing interest to understand how body composition measures can be utilized to improve cancer treatment and survivorship care for about 20 million individuals diagnosed with cancer annually. Recent observational studies demonstrate that muscle and adipose tissue distribution are risk factors for clinical outcomes such as postoperative complications, and worse overall survival. There is an emergent recognition that body mass index (BMI) is neither adequate to identify patients with adverse health outcomes due to poor muscle health or excess adiposity, nor does BMI accurately classify the distribution of adiposity. Abdominal CT is a most frequently imaging examination for a wide variety of clinical indications, but it is only used to diagnose the immediate problem. Additionally, each CT examination contains very robust data on body composition which generally goes unused in routine clinical practice. The field is eager to identify therapeutic interventions that modify body composition and reduce the incidence of poor clinical outcomes in this population. Large scale population based screening is feasible now by making all of these relevant biometric measures fully automated through the use of artificial intelligence algorithms, which provide rapid and objective assessment. Background: Older cancer patients are vulnerable to poorer health outcomes during cancer treatment. Although the Thai elderly had their own preferences towards future medical care and advance care planning (ACP) could help cancer patients make informed decisions, Thai physicians report a low ACP engagement rate. Thus, this study aimed to explore the perceptions of older cancer patients and their families towards ACP engagement. Method: We used a qualitative approach to explore the perceptions of non-haematological cancer patients aged ≥ 60 years old and their primary caregivers. The study was conducted at the Oncology Radiotherapy Referral Center, Songklagarind Hospital in Southern Thailand. Semi-structured in-depth interviews were conducted with the patients and their caregivers. Thematic analysis was used to identify and analyze recurring patterns and themes of perceptions regarding ACP engagement within the interview transcripts. Results: Among the 138 families approached, 32 interviews were conducted. Three themes were found: (1) Advantageous opportunity: the patients believed ACP would help them realize their life values, and ensure that their preference would be respected; (2) contemplation and barriers to ACP: ACP is unfamiliar and unnecessary, might have low utility, worry patients and family members, take away optimism, would not be a proper activity for the patient at the current health situation; and (3) Cues for ACP initiation: perceived conformity with one's religion, awareness of the current cancer state, having multiple comorbidity or experience suffering related with medical care, wishing not to burden family, having close family members, and trust in physicians. Conclusion: ACP engagement could be hindered or promoted by perceptions of older patients and/ or their family members, as well as the communication skills of the care providers. Care professionals who aim to initiate ACP should minimize the potential barriers, make the ACP benefits salient, and watch for cues indicating a propitious time to start the ACP conversation. Simple Summary: This research is suggested to address the significant psychological distress that cancer patients often experience during diagnosis and treatment, which can adversely affect their outcomes and care. Despite advancements in cancer treatments extending survival rates, the emergence of depression and anxiety as common comorbidities underscores the need for targeted interventions to improve patient well-being. The study aims to investigate the prevalence of depression and anxiety among cancer patients and identify some of the associated risk factors. Advancements in cancer treatment and early detection have extended survival rates, transforming many cancers into chronic conditions. However, cancer diagnosis and treatment can trigger significant psychological distress, including depression and anxiety, impacting patient outcomes and care. This study aimed to examine the prevalence of and identify the risk factors for depression and anxiety among cancer patients. A cross-sectional study was conducted, including patients under the care of the oncology department at a tertiary medical center between June 2021 and October 2023. Depression and anxiety were assessed using the Patient-Reported Outcomes Measurement Information System (PROMIS) short forms. Logistic regression analysis identified risk factors for depression and anxiety. The study population included 159 patients, with 40.3% reporting worsening mental health, but only about half of them received therapy. Among the study participants, 22.6% experienced symptoms of depression and 30.2% experienced symptoms of anxiety. Single-cancer patients and those with metastases were at increased risk for depression, while those with a disease duration of more than a year and patients with female-specific cancer were more likely to experience anxiety. Given the high prevalence of mental health deterioration in cancer patients, closer monitoring and validated assessment tools are essential to improve depression and anxiety diagnosis and facilitate early interventions. Simple Summary: Diabetes and cancer are major global health problems that cause significant illness and death. Many cancer patients also have diabetes, which complicates their treatment, especially if surgery is needed. This review highlights the link between diabetes and cancer. It looks into how cancer treatments can worsen blood sugar control, examines the risks that surgery holds for patients with both conditions, and outlines the strategies that can be used to manage diabetes around the time of surgery. More research is needed to provide new strategies that can reduce complications following surgery in patients with diabetes and cancer. Background: Both diabetes and cancer are major global health issues that are among the leading causes of morbidity and mortality. There is a high prevalence of diabetes among cancer patients, many of whom require a surgical procedure. This review focuses on the operative complications in patients with diabetes and cancer, and the perioperative management of diabetes in cancer patients. Methodology: A literature search of articles in English—published between January 2010 and May 2024—was carried out using the databases PubMed, MEDLINE, Google Scholar, and the Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews. The search primarily focused on the operative complications in patients with diabetes and cancer, and perioperative management strategies. Results: The relationship between cancer and diabetes is complex; cancer patients have a high risk of developing diabetes, while diabetes is a risk factor for certain cancers. In addition, various cancer therapies can induce or worsen diabetes in susceptible patients. Many individuals with cancer and diabetes require surgery, and due to underlying diabetes, they may have elevated risks for operative complications. Optimal perioperative management for these patients includes managing perioperative glycemia and other comorbid illnesses, adjusting diabetic and cancer treatments, optimizing nutrition, minimizing the duration of fasting, supporting early mobilization, and providing patient education to enable self-management. Conclusions: While evidence is limited, optimal perioperative management for patients with both diabetes and cancer is necessary in order to reduce surgical complications. Aims and Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of positive psychological interventions on quality of life, positive psychological outcomes and negative psychological outcomes in patients with cancer. Background: Patients with cancer often suffer from various psychological problems and have a poor quality of life. Positive psychological interventions have been increasingly applied to patients with cancer, but the results of these studies have not been synthesized. Design: A systematic review and meta‐analysis of randomized controlled trials according to PRISMA. Methods: Six English databases and four Chinese databases were searched from the inception to December 2022. Two reviewers independently assessed the risk of bias using the Cochrane Risk of Bias tool. RevMan was used for meta‐analysis. Results: Twenty‐nine randomized controlled trials examined the effects of positive psychological interventions including meaning therapy, dignity therapy, positive psychotherapy, mindfulness‐ based intervention, life review, expressive writing intervention, acceptance and commitment psychotherapy, attention and interpretation therapy, compassion training and spiritual therapy on patients with cancer. Positive psychological interventions significantly improved the quality of life, enhanced positive psychological outcomes including well‐being, meaning of life, self‐esteem, optimism, resilience and self‐efficacy and alleviated negative psychological outcomes including depression, anxiety and hopelessness. However, the heterogeneity of some outcomes was rather high, due to the wide diversity of the interventions included. Conclusion: Positive psychological interventions have potentially positive effects on improving quality of life, enhancing positive psychological outcomes and alleviating negative psychological outcomes in patients with cancer. However, due to the heterogeneity and the lack of follow‐up studies, more high‐quality studies are needed to confirm the results of our review and to clarify the long‐term effects of positive psychological interventions. Background: Cancer is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality globally. Dyspnea, affecting up to 60% of cancer patients, exacerbates physical and psychological distress, reducing quality of life. This study aims to explore the relationship between dyspnea and factors such as age, sex, clinical diagnosis, and treatment lines in cancer patients, with the goal of improving understanding and management of this debilitating symptom to enhance patient care and quality of life. Methods: This study employed an observational, cross-sectional, and descriptive approach to investigate patients with oncological disease at the University Hospital of Salamanca between March 2021 and April 2024. A convenience sample was selected, including patients over 18 years old with a pathological diagnosis of cancer, experiencing any degree of dyspnea, and who consented to participate by signing the informed consent. Exclusion criteria included lack of consent and clinical conditions that prevented an interview. The studied variables encompass sociodemographic (age, gender, diagnosis, tumor stage, number of treatment lines) and clinical aspects (daily activities, degree of dyspnea, functional capacity, physical performance), evaluated using the Barthel Index, the mMRC Dyspnea Scale, the ECOG Scale, and the Short Physical Performance Battery (SPPB). Data were collected through semistructured interviews and medical records, and analyzed using specialized software. This research has ethical approval CEiM Code 2023 12 1472, Reference 2024/01. Results: The mean age was 66.82 years. Lung cancer was predominant (60.2%), with most patients in stage 3 (65.7%) and receiving three treatment lines (68.7%). Higher age, advanced disease stage, and more treatment lines correlated with lower Barthel and SPPB scores, and higher ECOG and mMRC scores, indicating worse functionality, physical performance, and greater dyspnea. No significant correlations were found between gender or pathological diagnosis and the studied variables. Conclusions: Advanced age, higher disease stage, and more treatment lines are associated with decreased functionality, poorer physical performance, and increased dyspnea in cancer patients. Gender and specific cancer diagnosis do not significantly affect these relationships. Addressing dyspnea is crucial to improving the quality of life and physical performance in this population. Primary lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer‐related death worldwide. Recent statistics estimate 1.8 million new cases and 1.6 million deaths per year. Despite significant advances in surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy, the 5‐year survival rate remains at just 18%. Thermal ablation is an established treatment that is safe and effective. It refers to the local application of controlled heat to induce irreversible cell injury and ultimately tumor apoptosis and necrosis. This approach is particularly suitable for the treatment of small tumors in patients who are not suitable for surgery. However, the lack of suitable benchtop models to assess ablation devices complicates prognostic prediction and the development of effective treatment strategies. In this context, the development of a 3D lung tumor model is presented using a cancer cell‐laden hydrogel composed of 2% hyaluronic acid–tyramine (HA‐TA) and 0.5% agarose, resulting in a tumor mimetic of clinically relevant size. This innovative model provides a valuable platform for testing ablation devices and provides insights that can significantly improve prognostic ability and refine treatment approaches for lung cancer patients. The CBL (Casitas B-lineage lymphoma) family, as a class of ubiquitin ligases, can regulate signal transduction and activate receptor tyrosine kinases through various tyrosine kinase-dependent pathways. There are three members of the family: c-CBL, CBL-b, and CBL-c. Numerous studies have demonstrated the important role of CBL in various cellular pathways, particularly those involved in the occurrence and progression of cancer, hematopoietic development, and regulation of T cell receptors. Therefore, the purpose of this review is to comprehensively summarize the function and regulatory role of CBL family proteins in different human tumors, as well as the progress of drug research targeting CBL family, so as to provide a broader clinical measurement strategy for the treatment of tumors. Background: The financial burden resulting from cancers on families is higher when it arises in young people compared with older adults. Previous research has provided insight into the financial toxicities associated with childhood cancer, but less is known about the efficacy of financial aid systems in reducing the financial burden on families. We conducted a scoping review to identify the determinants of success and failure of financial aid. Methods: Five databases were searched for articles published between January 1, 2000 and December 1, 2022. Dual processes were used to screen and select studies. Through thematic content analysis, we identified barriers and enablers of financial aid, categorised by country income level. Results: From 17 articles, which were evenly split between high-income countries and upper middle- to low-income countries, four major themes emerged: (1) accessibility of support, (2) delivery of support, (3) administration, and (4) psychosocial factors. Within these themes, the enablers identified were (1) support navigators, (2) establishing a direct contact between donors and beneficiaries, (3) implementation of digital solutions to improve outreach, and (4) using cultural and community values to encourage donor engagement. Conclusions: This scoping review identified the determinants of success and failure of financial aid in supporting families in the context of childhood, adolescent, and young adult (CAYA) cancers. By understanding the barriers and enablers identified in this review, organizations could develop pragmatic evidence-based care models and policies to ensure access to assistance is equitable and appropriate for families experiencing CAYA cancers. Simple Summary: Individualized medicine means understanding how each tumor is different from normal cells and how each tumor is different from other tumors, including profiling mutations, non-mutational epigenetic changes, and differences in gene expression. This allows the discovery of key processes each tumor absolutely depends on for survival and growth, which are intrinsic weaknesses. This profiling means selecting treatments to specifically target each tumor's survival-dependent pathways, killing them. Tip60 is a master controller of processes that maintain genome stability and signaling regulating gene expression. While disrupted in many cancers, Tip60 is essential for cell survival, and inhibiting Tip60 kills tumors. While we understand some key aspects of the molecular roles Tip60 plays, much more remains to be discovered. A more complete understanding of the diverse roles and functions of Tip60 in cancer, and how targeting Tip60 kills cancer cells, will lead to better treatments for patients and increased survival. Precision (individualized) medicine relies on the molecular profiling of tumors' dysregulated characteristics (genomic, epigenetic, transcriptomic) to identify the reliance on key pathways (including genome stability and epigenetic gene regulation) for viability or growth, and then utilises targeted therapeutics to disrupt these survival-dependent pathways. Non-mutational epigenetic changes alter cells' transcriptional profile and are a key feature found in many tumors. In contrast to genetic mutations, epigenetic changes are reversable, and restoring a normal epigenetic profile can inhibit tumor growth and progression. Lysine acetyltransferases (KATs or HATs) protect genome stability and integrity, and Tip60 is an essential acetyltransferase due to its roles as an epigenetic and transcriptional regulator, and as master regulator of the DNA double-strand break response. Tip60 is commonly downregulated and mislocalized in many cancers, and the roles that mislocalized Tip60 plays in cancer are not well understood. Here we categorize and discuss Tip60-regulated genes, evaluate Tip60-interacting proteins based on cellular localization, and explore the therapeutic potential of Tip60-targeting compounds as epigenetic inhibitors. Understanding the multiple roles Tip60 plays in tumorigenesis will improve our understanding of tumor progression and will inform therapeutic options, including informing potential combinatorial regimes with current chemotherapeutics, leading to improvements in patient outcomes. Background: Half of all patients with cancer use complementary medicine. Given the benefits and risks associated with complementary medicine use, contact between complementary medicine practitioners and conventional healthcare providers (oncologists, nurses) is important for monitoring the health and well-being of mutual patients with cancer. Research on occurrence of such interprofessional contact is scarce. This study aims to describe complementary medicine practitioners' experiences with contact with conventional healthcare providers about mutual patients with cancer and the importance they attach to patient disclosure of complementary medicine use to their conventional healthcare provider. Predictors for interprofessional contact are explored. Methods: An online survey was administered among complementary medicine practitioners who treat patients with cancer or cancer survivors and who are member of a professional association in the Netherlands. Results: The survey was completed by 1481 complementary medicine practitioners. 40% of the participants reported to have contact with conventional healthcare providers of patients with cancer. Only 13% of the complementary medicine practitioners experienced conventional healthcare providers as open to communication with them. An explorative logistic regression showed that openness of conventional healthcare providers as experienced by complementary medicine practitioners was the most important predictor for the occurrence of interprofessional contact (OR = 8.12, 95% CI 5.12–12.86, p <.001). Most complementary medicine practitioners (82%) considered it important that patients disclose complementary medicine use to their conventional healthcare provider and 49% of the participants always motivates their patients to do so. Conclusions: Interprofessional contact with conventional healthcare providers in oncology occurs but is not routine for most complementary medicine practitioners. More than one-third of the surveyed complementary medicine practitioners experienced conventional healthcare providers as not open to communication with them. The openness of conventional healthcare providers as experienced by complementary practitioners is an important predictor for interprofessional contact to take place. Most complementary practitioners acknowledge the importance of patient disclosure of complementary medicine use to their conventional healthcare provider. Open communication about the topic of complementary medicine use between complementary practitioners, conventional healthcare providers and patients prevents overlooking relevant medical information and facilitates optimal monitoring of health and safety of patients with cancer. Simple Summary: Cancer care is being increasingly driven by biomarker testing. Many biomarkers are traditionally measured on a sample from a patient tumor such as a biopsy. More recently, "liquid biopsy" has emerged as a blood test to complement or replace traditional tissue-based testing. In this report, we explore one of the first case series of rapid liquid biopsy performed within a hospital setting. The results include a median 3-day time to results, compared to approximately 14 days using traditional centralized reference labs. Additional details of the cohort are shared to highlight the utility of point of care liquid biopsy. Liquid biopsy is rapidly becoming an indispensable tool in the oncologist's arsenal; however, this technique remains elusive in a publicly funded healthcare system, and real-world evidence is needed to demonstrate utility and feasibility. Here, we describe the first experience of an in-house point of care liquid biopsy program at a Canadian community hospital. A retrospective review of consecutive cases that underwent plasma-based next-generation sequencing (NGS) was conducted. Liquid biopsy was initiated at the discretion of clinicians. Sequencing followed a point of care workflow using the Genexus™ integrated sequencer and the Oncomine precision assay, performed by histotechnologists. Results were reported by the attending pathologist. Eligible charts were reviewed for outcomes of interest, including the intent of the liquid biopsy, results of the liquid biopsy, and turnaround time from blood draw to results available. A total of 124 cases, with confirmed or suspected cancer, underwent liquid biopsy between January 2021 and November 2023. The median turnaround time for liquid biopsy results was 3 business days (range 1–12 days). The sensitivity of liquid biopsies was 71%, compared to tissue testing in cases with matched tissue results available for comparison. Common mutations included EGFR (29%), in 86 lung cancer patients, and PIK3CA (22%), identified in 13 breast cancer patients. Healthcare providers ordered liquid biopsies to inform diagnostic investigations and treatment decisions, and to determine progression or resistance mechanisms, as these reasons often overlapped. This study demonstrates that rapid in-house liquid biopsy using point of care methodology is feasible. Purpose To summarize the pharmacology, efficacy, safety, dosing, administration, and pharmacist perspectives related to operationalization of new and emerging bispecific therapies indicated for the treatment of various cancers. Summary In recent years, there have been significant advancements in the expansion of immunotherapeutics in the treatment of various malignancies. Bispecific T cell–engaging therapies represent an emerging therapeutic drug class for the treatment of cancer. These therapies are unique antibody constructs that bind simultaneously to 2 targets, a tumor-specific antigen and CD3 on T cells, to elicit an immune response. Recently, several bispecific therapies have been approved, including epcoritamab, glofitamab, mosunetuzumab, tebentafusp, and teclistamab. Epcoritamab and glofitamab have been approved for diffuse large B cell lymphoma, while mosunetuzumab, tebentafusp, and teclistamab have been approved for follicular lymphoma, uveal melanoma, and multiple myeloma, respectively. As a result of their mechanism of action, the approved bispecific therapies have the potential to cause cytokine release syndrome, and, along with this, they all have unique and specific monitoring parameters and operational considerations that require clinician awareness when administering these therapies. Such operational challenges include within-patient dose escalations at therapy initiation, hospitalization for monitoring, and various pharmacological strategies for prophylaxis of cytokine release syndrome. Conclusion Bispecific therapies have continued to evolve the therapeutic landscape of cancer, primarily in hematological malignancies. MUC21, also known as Epiglycanin, is a high-molecular-weight glycoprotein with transmembrane mucin properties. It consists of a tandem repeat domain, a stem domain, a transmembrane domain and a cytoplasmic tail. MUC21 is expressed is observed in normal tissues in organs like the thymus, testes, lungs, and large intestine. Research has shown that MUC21 is expressed in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, lung adenocarcinoma, glioblastoma, thyroid cancer, melanoma, and various other malignant tumors in distinctive manner. Additionally, tumor invasion, metastasis, and poor prognosis are linked to it. Some researchers believe that MUC21 has the potential to become a new target in cancer treatment. Maintaining the structural integrity of genomic chromosomal DNA is an essential role of cellular life and requires two important biological mechanisms: the DNA damage response (DDR) mechanism and telomere protection mechanism at chromosome ends. Because abnormalities in telomeres and cellular DDR regulation are strongly associated with human aging and cancer, there is a reciprocal regulation of telomeres and cellular DDR. Moreover, several drug treatments for DDR are currently available. This paper reviews the progress in research on the interaction between telomeres and cellular DNA damage repair pathways. The research on the crosstalk between telomere damage and DDR is important for improving the efficacy of tumor treatment. However, further studies are required to confirm this hypothesis. Nano-drug delivery systems have opened new pathways for tumor treatment by overcoming some of the limitations of conventional drugs, such as physiological degradation, short half-life, and rapid release. Liposomes are promising nanocarrier systems due to their biocompatibility, low toxicity, and high inclusivity, as well as their enhanced drug bioavailability. Various strategies for active targeting of liposomal formulations have been investigated to achieve the highest drug efficacy. This review aims to summarize current developments in novel liposomal formulations, particularly ligand-targeted liposomes (such as folate, transferrin, hyaluronic acid, antibodies, aptamer, and peptide, etc.) used for the therapy of various cancers and provide an insight on the challenges and future of liposomes for scientists and pharmaceutical companies. Background: Despite being considered a key component of quality-of-life, sexual health concerns in adolescents and young adults (AYA) patients with cancer (aged 15–39 years old) are often unmet due to barriers from both patients and health care professionals (HCPs). Investigation into policy and practice tools in this scope of practice is also limited. Aim: To review the literature on policy and practice tools in AYA oncosexology. Method: A scoping review was conducted using four databases: Medline, EMCARE, EMBASE, and PsycINFO, based on the Joanna Briggs Institute Scoping Review methodology. Retrieved articles were extracted into Covidence, followed by two screening rounds. Descriptive and basic content analyses were performed for evidence synthesis. Results: Seventy-four articles were included after screening rounds and citation searches. Overall, oncosexology policy and practice tools were categorized into screening tools (11 articles), guidelines (38 articles), training programs (15 articles), service delivery initiatives (5 articles), and the evaluation of their feasibility/challenges to implementation (5 articles). Among these, only ten articles were specifically about the AYA population. They helped identify and resolve sexual health concerns in AYA patients with cancer by providing strategies to overcome communication barriers, treatment options, and information resources for patients, and by advocating for more HCP education on this topic. BACKGROUND: Complementary and alternative medicine encompasses various nonpharmacologic interventions for managing pain, such as acupuncture and music therapy. Few studies have combined these two interventions in the management of cancer-related pain. OBJECTIVES: The purpose of this evidence-based project was to compare acupuncture-only therapy versus dual therapy (acupuncture and music therapy) on pain intensity scores in patients with cancer. METHODS: This evidence-based project included 102 participants at a private acupuncture practice. One group had acupuncture only for six weeks, and another had six weeks of acupuncture and music therapy. The Numeric Pain Rating Scale was used to assess pain before and after the interventions. FINDINGS: Findings showed that both groups had clinically and statistically significant improvements in pain intensity scores. Many more cancers are treated with intent to cure now than in previous decades, but for most, this involves significant effects from which people need to recover psychologically and socially, as well as physically. This longitudinal photo-elicitation interview study uses grounded theory to explain how people discharged from specialist care made use of everyday social and material resources to manage this process at home. Recovery is presented as a curve in life's pathway requiring gradual reorientation, drawing on social worlds and domestic resources to calibrate this process. Findings are described in three stages: (1) responding to diagnosis and treatment, (2) using social resources for meaning-making, and (3) developing assets for recovery. During treatment, participants drew on past identities to reinforce their sense of self, and personalized health care communication supported this process. In the weeks after treatment, new frameworks of understanding were constructed from perspectives on cancer encountered in the family, workplace, and outpatient clinics. Recovery processes included the negotiation of personal change, the renegotiation of close relationships, and the use of everyday resources to regain three sensations: control, comfort, and continuity. Supportive care would benefit from an individualized exploration of the assets that can help people to negotiate this challenging phase as treatment comes to a close. Possibilities for self-care (the maintenance of health and well-being in the context of everyday life) can be explored and assessed through personalized discussion around the identities, social worlds, and everyday resources available to each individual. Background: Cancer patients experience significant changes in their social roles along with various physical and psychological challenges. Despite the growing recognition of the importance of palliative care in Bangladesh, there is a notable gap in research focusing on the psychosocial issues faced by patients with advanced cancer. Aim: This study aims to explore the level of social support perceived by Bangladeshi cancer patients and determine how this support relates to their mental health status. Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted among 115 advanced cancer (stages III and IV) patients admitted to the palliative medicine department of a tertiary care hospital in Bangladesh. Perceived social support was measured by the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support, and the mental health status of the patients was assessed by Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale-21. Data collection was done from June to November 2023. Relationships between perceived social support, depression, anxiety, and stress were assessed by the Spearman correlation test. The moderating effect of perceived social support on patients' mental health variables was determined by multiple linear regression and simple slope analysis. p Value <0.05 was considered to be statistically significant. Result: The study included an almost equal number of male (49.6%) and female (50.4%) patients, with a mean age of 50.7 ± 14.4 years. Overall, perceived social support was moderate to high for most (74.7%) of the participants. Among the participants, 78.3% experienced anxiety, 77.4% suffered from depression, and 70.5% experienced stress. Depression, anxiety, and stress were all negatively and significantly (p < 0.05) correlated with perceived social support. Younger patients reported higher levels of anxiety, stress, and depression. Perceived social support had a significant buffering effect on depression and anxiety among the younger patients. Conclusion: Perceived social support has a profound and significant effect on the mental health of advanced cancer patients. Integrating psychosocial support early in palliative care can be highly beneficial to the mental health of these patients. Simple Summary: While immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) therapy is used successfully to treat various cancers, many patients develop immune-related adverse side effects (irAEs), which can be severe enough to cause decreases in quality of life and, in some cases, may result in treatment cessation. Here, we review current studies investigating the potential utility of the molecules MIF and CD74 as predictive biomarkers for ICB response and irAE development. We also discuss evidence for the circadian expression of MIF. Finally, we aim to highlight areas where future research will be beneficial in establishing the value of MIF and CD74 as biomarkers of ICB response. Here, we assess their potential as predictive biomarkers for response to ICB therapy and irAE development. We provide a brief overview of their function and roles in the context of cancer and autoimmune disease. We also review the evidence showing that MIF and CD74 may be of use as predictive biomarkers of patient response to ICB therapy and irAE development. We also highlight that careful consideration is required when assessing the potential of serum MIF levels as a biomarker due to its reported circadian expression in human plasma. Finally, we suggest future directions for the establishment of MIF and CD74 as predictive biomarkers for ICB therapy and irAE development to guide further research in this field. This study compared three ethnic/racial groups of informal cancer caregivers on social determinants of health and tested social determinants of health as predictors of psychological distress and caregiver burden. This study was a secondary analysis of baseline data of a sequential multiple assignment randomized trial (SMART) testing symptom management interventions with caregiver-survivor dyads. Caregivers completed baseline measures of social determinants of health (SDoH), functional limitations, psychological distress, and caregiver burden. Hispanic, non-Hispanic White, and non-Hispanic other races caregivers were compared on these variables. Multivariate tests of associations between SDoH and caregiver burden and psychological distress were conducted in structural equation modeling with caregiver burden and psychological distress as latent variables. Hispanic caregivers reported significantly higher caregiver burden, specifically for finances, family, and schedules. Caregiver burden was significantly predicted by having income barely or not meeting needs, being female, socially isolated, married, Hispanic, and having poor physical functioning. Significant predictors of caregivers' psychological distress: being female, being socially isolated, and having poor physical functioning. Pandemic-induced anxiety can have adverse mental and somatic health consequences on cancer patients (CP). This study aimed to (1) explore the intricate relationships between worry related to potential SARS-CoV-2 infection, COVID-19 perception, sociodemographic factors, and the perceived effectiveness of lockdown measures and (2) investigate if these relationships differ between cancer patients and individuals without a history of cancer (IWHC). We conducted a cross-sectional quantitative study in France between December 1 and 14, 2020. Network analysis was employed on a sample of 1889 women, including 282 cancer patients and 1607 noncancer individuals. Our findings indicate that CP were 20% more likely to express worry than IWHC. Anxiety is embedded within a complex network involving sociodemographic, cognitive, and emotional factors. The emotional components related to COVID-19 perception were found to play a crucial role. The networks for both groups were observed to be identical. Our study underscores the heightened vulnerability of cancer patients to pandemic-induced anxiety, emphasizing the crucial role of emotional components related to COVID-19 perception. The observed similarities in the anxiety network between cancer patients and those without a history of cancer suggest that universal approaches might be effective across groups. The construction and optimization of a single phototherapeutic agent with photoluminescence, type I photodynamic therapy (PDT), and photothermal therapy (PTT) functions remain challenging. In this study, we aimed to design and synthesize four donor–acceptor (D-A) type aggregation-induced emission molecules: PSI, TPSI, PSSI, and TPSSI. We employed phenothiazine as an electron donor and 1,3-bis(dicyanomethylidene)indan as a strong electron acceptor in the synthesis process. Among them, TPSSI exhibited efficient type I reactive oxygen species generation, high photothermal conversion efficiency (45.44 %), and near-infrared emission. These observations can be attributed to the introduction of a triphenylamine electron donor group and a thiophene unit, which resulted in increased D–A strengths, a reduced singlet-triplet energy gap, and increased free intramolecular motion. TPSSI was loaded into bovine serum albumin to prepare biocompatible TPSSI nanoparticles (NPs). Our results have indicated that TPSSI NPs can target lipid droplets with negligible dark toxicity and can efficiently generate O 2 •− in hypoxic tumor environments. Moreover, TPSSI NPs selectively targeted 4T1 tumor tissues and exhibited a good PDT-PTT synergistic effect in vitro and in vivo. We believe that the successful preparation of multifunctional phototherapeutic agents will promote the development of efficient tumor diagnosis and treatment technologies. The genesis and progression of cancer is a process of immunoediting that consists of 3 phases, namely elimination, equilibrium and escape phases. This process is also a microevolutionary game process between the body and the tumor. Data from mouse tumors and some human tumors shows that both T cell-based adaptive immunity and innate lymphoid cell (ILC)-based innate immunity participate in cancer immunoediting. The ILCs, which belong to tissue-resident cells and consist of multiple subsets, are a unique branch of the innate immune system discovered over a decade ago. The characteristics and functions of ILCs exhibit significant heterogeneity and are regulated by a variety of factors secreted by various kinds of cells. ILCs participate not only in the regulation of tissue homeostasis and inflammatory responses, but also, through various mechanisms, in the formation of tumor microenvironment and cancer immunoediting process. This paper studies the classification and characteristics of ILCs and their roles and mechanisms in tumors, aiming to explore new thoughts for the pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of tumors. Holistic needs assessments (HNAs) are interventions used by clinical nurse specialists (CNSs) and other members of the cancer team to deliver personalised care to people living with cancer. HNAs have been used since the launch of the National Cancer Survivorship Initiative in 2007, with many cancer services embedding them in routine patient care. However, shortcomings in HNA delivery remain, notably in terms of the number of people who receive them. This article prompts nurses to reflect on how HNAs can be effectively delivered to all patients with cancer as and when they need them. The author discusses the principles of personalised cancer care, the benefits of HNAs and when, where, how and by whom HNAs should be carried out. Background: Cancer affects the emotional well-being of patients and caregivers, highlighting the need for effective communication strategies. This study explores a community-based communication intervention for Latino caregiver–patient dyads coping with cancer. The acceptability of the intervention, along with its associated facilitators and barriers, are crucial considerations. Methods: Three focus group interviews involved healthcare providers, community partners, patients, and caregivers to discuss the communication needs of this population and the components of a communication intervention while identifying facilitators and barriers to the intervention. Qualitative thematic content analysis was conducted using Nvivo v12, ensuring reliability through independent analysis and consensus building. Results: Participants (89% female, average age of 53) included patients (30%), caregivers (30%), community partners (25%), and healthcare providers (15%), and they discussed the overall acceptability of adapting a communication intervention, where they emphasized benefits for caregivers and patients, primarily through support groups. Communication strategies accepted by participants include psychological support, cancer education, assertive communication skills, and methods for improved interactions with healthcare providers and extended family. Conclusions: Participants' responses align with the current literature, emphasizing problem-solving, mutual support, and communication strategies and underscoring the role of community partners. Nectin-4 is a Ca2+-independent immunoglobulin-like protein that exhibits significantly elevated expression in malignant tumors while maintaining extremely low levels in healthy adult tissues. In recent years, overexpression of Nectin-4 has been implicated in tumor occurrence and development of various cancers, including breast cancer, urothelial cancer, and lung cancer. In 2019, the Food and Drug Administration approved enfortumab vedotin, the first antibody-drug conjugate targeting Nectin-4, for the treatment of urothelial carcinoma. This has emphasized the value of Nectin-4 in tumor targeted therapy and promoted the implementation of more clinical trials of enfortumab vedotin. In addition, many new drugs targeting Nectin-4 for the treatment of malignant tumors have entered clinical trials, with the aim of exploring potential new indications. However, the exact mechanisms by which Nectin-4 affects tumorigenesis and progression are still unclear, and the emergence of drug resistance and treatment-related adverse reactions poses challenges. This article reviews the diagnostic potential, prognostic significance, and molecular role of Nectin-4 in tumors, with a focus on clinical trials in the field of Nectin-4-related tumor treatment and the development of new drugs targeting Nectin-4. Immunotherapy has revolutionized cancer treatment, with the anti-PD-1/PD-L1 axis therapy demonstrating significant clinical efficacy across various tumor types. However, it should be noted that this therapy is not universally effective for all PD-L1-positive patients, highlighting the need to expedite research on the second ligand of PD-1, known as Programmed Cell Death Receptor Ligand 2 (PD-L2). As an immune checkpoint molecule, PD-L2 was reported to be associated with patient's prognosis and plays a pivotal role in cancer cell immune escape. An in-depth understanding of the regulatory process of PDL2 expression may stratify patients to benefit from anti-PD-1 immunotherapy. Our review focuses on exploring PD-L2 expression in different tumors, its correlation with prognosis, regulatory factors, and the interplay between PDL2 and tumor treatment, which may provide a notable avenue in developing immune combination therapy and improving the clinical efficacy of anti-PD-1 therapies. Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic caused widespread disruption to the provision of health care in the United Kingdom. It posed two risks to AYACs: disruption of care and long-term adverse consequences compounding late effects. This study sought to better understand the experiences of AYACs receiving care during the pandemic and identify areas where greater support is needed. Methods: In-depth semistructured interviews with AYACs (n = 6), 16–22 years at diagnosis. Interviews were transcribed verbatim and analyzed using the principles of Giorgi's phenomenological analysis. Results: Four major themes and an interconnected theme were identified. Changes to health care meant AYACs were isolated and loss of in-person follow-up caused anxiety (theme 1). AYACs had to adapt to life with COVID-19 restrictions (theme 2). Support during the pandemic came from a variety of sources (theme 3). AYACs reported poor mental health due to a fear of relapse and contracting COVID-19 (theme 4). An additional burden for AYACs was the loss of the third person (e.g., parent) in consultations (interconnected theme). Conclusion: This study has wider implications for delivery of AYAC care, despite being set during the COVID-19 pandemic. Hispanic caregivers experiencing higher caregiving burden than their non-Hispanic cohorts, due in part to contextual factors, such as barriers to accessing health care, challenging employment environments, low education and income, immigration issues, and minority stress. Spirituality may serve as a coping strategy for Hispanic caregivers that influences health-related quality of life (HRQoL), possibly by modifying loneliness associated with caregiving. We explored these concepts using semi-structured interviews (N = 10 Hispanic caregivers). Participants shared perceptions of loneliness, spirituality, and how these factors related to HRQoL. Five themes emerged: caregiver experience, coping strategies, loneliness, religion and spirituality to gain strength. Findings suggested that spirituality and religion improved HRQoL partially by reducing loneliness. Simple Summary: Cancer is the second leading cause of death worldwide, accounting for nearly one in six deaths. One of the key underlying factors distinguishing a cancer cell from a normal cell is the pattern of expression of genes. Proteins that regulate gene expression, called transcription factors, are abnormally regulated in cancer cells, particularly a group of proteins called STATs. This causes cancer cells to survive, proliferate excessively, and escape killing by the immune system. Since normal cells can survive adequately without full STAT function, targeting these proteins is an attractive approach for a new generation of more effective and less toxic cancer therapies. In this review, we summarize the current knowledge of STAT function in cancer and the advances and challenges in developing drugs to target them. Despite advances in our understanding of molecular aspects of oncogenesis, cancer remains a leading cause of death. The malignant behavior of a cancer cell is driven by the inappropriate activation of transcription factors. In particular, signal transducers and activators of transcription (STATs), which regulate many critical cellular processes such as proliferation, apoptosis, and differentiation, are frequently activated inappropriately in a wide spectrum of human cancers. Multiple signaling pathways converge on the STATs, highlighting their importance in the development and progression of oncogenic diseases. STAT3 and STAT5 are two members of the STAT protein family that are the most frequently activated in cancers and can drive cancer pathogenesis directly. The development of inhibitors targeting STAT3 and STAT5 has been the subject of intense investigations in the last decade, although effective treatment options remain limited. In this review, we investigate the specific roles of STAT3 and STAT5 in normal physiology and cancer biology, discuss the opportunities and challenges in pharmacologically targeting STAT proteins and their upstream activators, and offer insights into novel therapeutic strategies to identify STAT inhibitors as cancer therapeutics. While this technology has been useful, it can only retrieve genomic information through short reads or sequences, which is a limitation. Cancer is a multifaceted disease arising from numerous genomic aberrations that have been identified as a result of advancements in sequencing technologies. While next-generation sequencing (NGS), which uses short reads, has transformed cancer research and diagnostics, it is limited by read length. Third-generation sequencing (TGS), led by the Pacific Biosciences and Oxford Nanopore Technologies platforms, employs long-read sequences, which have marked a paradigm shift in cancer research. Cancer genomes often harbour complex events, and TGS, with its ability to span large genomic regions, has facilitated their characterisation, providing a better understanding of how complex rearrangements affect cancer initiation and progression. TGS has also characterised the entire transcriptome of various cancers, revealing cancer-associated isoforms that could serve as biomarkers or therapeutic targets. Furthermore, TGS has advanced cancer research by improving genome assemblies, detecting complex variants, and providing a more complete picture of transcriptomes and epigenomes. This review focuses on TGS and its growing role in cancer research. We investigate its advantages and limitations, providing a rigorous scientific analysis of its use in detecting previously hidden aberrations missed by NGS. Coagulation factor VIII (FVIII) is an essential cofactor in the coagulation cascade, encoded by the F8 gene on the long arm of chromosome X (Xq28). FVIII is normally circulated in complex with Von Willebrand factor (VWF) and has relevant emerging ex-tracoagulative functions. Dysregulation of FVIII is associated with tumor progression, and could be used as a novel biomarker for tumor screening and monitoring. Development of painful oxaliplatin-induced peripheral neuropathy (OIPN) is a major problem in people who receive oxaliplatin as part of cancer treatment. The pain experienced by those with OIPN can be seriously debilitating and lead to discontinuation of an otherwise successful treatment. Duloxetine is currently the only recommended treatment for established painful OIPN recommended by the American Society of Clinical Oncology, but its preventative ability is still not clear. This study examined the ability of duloxetine to prevent signs of chronic OIPN in female (n = 12) and male (n = 21) rats treated with the chemotherapeutic agent oxaliplatin. Using an established model of OIPN, rats were started on duloxetine (15 mg) one week prior to oxaliplatin administration and continued duloxetine for 32 days. Behavioral testing for mechanical allodynia and mechanical hyperalgesia was done with selected von Frey filaments. Significant posttreatment differences were found for allodynia in female (p =.004), but not male rats. Duloxetine was associated with significant differences for hyperalgesia in both female (p <.001) and male (p <.001) rats. These findings provide preliminary evidence of the preventative effects of duloxetine on both oxaliplatin-induced allodynia and hyperalgesia in male and female rats, with a difference noted in response between the sexes. Simple Summary: We have recently witnessed several milestones in the treatment of various cancers with immunotherapy through modulating the activity of the immune system to suppress and destroy cancer cells. One main factor involved in the anti-cancer immune system is cytotoxic immune cells known as T cells. T cells can recognize pathogenic cancer cells and launch targeted destruction attacks. However, these T cells may become non-functional due to their close association with cancer cells within the tumor microenvironment. Cancer cell activity can ultimately suppress T-cell function. New approaches that prevent the inactivation of T cells by cancer cells would result in recovery of the T-cell functions, cancer regression, and overall survival. Targeting cancer cells specifically to prevent T-cell inactivation would result in tumor disappearance, inhibition of metastasis, and the reversal of resistance to therapy. Therefore, this proposed alternative approach is promising as it is applicable to numerous cancers, including those that are resistant to treatment. During the last decade, we have witnessed several milestones in the treatment of various resistant cancers including immunotherapeutic strategies that have proven to be superior to conventional treatment options, such as chemotherapy and radiation. This approach utilizes the host's immune response, which is triggered by cancer cells expressing tumor-associated antigens or neoantigens. The responsive immune cytotoxic CD8+ T cells specifically target and kill tumor cells, leading to tumor regression and prolongation of survival in some cancers; however, some cancers may exhibit resistance due to the inactivation of anti-tumor CD8+ T cells. One mechanism by which the anti-tumor CD8+ T cells become dysfunctional is through the activation of the inhibitory receptor programmed death-1 (PD-1) by the corresponding tumor cells (or other cells in the tumor microenvironment (TME)) that express the programmed death ligand-1 (PD-L1). Hence, blocking the PD-1/PD-L1 interaction via specific monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) restores the CD8+ T cells' functions, leading to tumor regression. Accordingly, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved several checkpoint antibodies which act as immune checkpoint inhibitors. Their clinical use in various resistant cancers, such as metastatic melanoma and non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC), has shown significant clinical responses. We have investigated an alternative approach to prevent the expression of PD-L1 on tumor cells, through targeting the oncogenic transcription factor Yin Yang 1 (YY1), a known factor overexpressed in many cancers. We report the regulation of PD-L1 by YY1 at the transcriptional, post-transcriptional, and post-translational levels, resulting in the restoration of CD8+ T cells' anti-tumor functions. We have performed bioinformatic analyses to further explore the relationship between both YY1 and PD-L1 in cancer and to corroborate these findings. In addition to its regulation of PD-L1, YY1 has several other anti-cancer activities, such as the regulation of proliferation and cell viability, invasion, epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT), metastasis, and chemo-immuno-resistance. Thus, targeting YY1 will have a multitude of anti-tumor activities resulting in a significant obliteration of cancer oncogenic activities. Various strategies are proposed to selectively target YY1 in human cancers and present a promising novel therapeutic approach for treating unresponsive cancer phenotypes. Simple Summary: In this manuscript, we review the progress in knowledge made over the last decade, which, thanks to the commitment of many academics and researchers, has clarified many aspects relating to ferroptosis and its connections with cancer. Ferroptosis is currently regarded as a distinct type of regulated cell death (RCD), characterized by iron-dependent oxidative stress and the accumulation of lethal oxidized lipids. With a focus on the recent literature, the connection between iron homeostasis, oxidative stress and lipid metabolism is highlighted, which overall regulates ferroptotic cellular death. Moreover, special attention is devoted to the possible activation of this RCD pathway as a mechanism of tumor suppression. Its in-depth understanding from a regulatory and molecular perspective could provide important information for the development of new candidate drugs for the treatment of tumors resistant to conventional therapies. Based on the multifaceted molecular machinery that tightly controls iron cellular homeostasis, this review delves into its paradoxical, potentially dangerous role in biological systems, with a special focus on double-edged sword correlations with cancer. Indeed, though iron is a vital micronutrient and a required cofactor participating in several essential cell functions, its tendency to cause oxidative stress can be related both to cancer risk and to the activation of cancer cell death pathways. In this scenario, ferroptosis refers to an iron-dependent form of regulated cell death (RCD) powered by an overload of lethal peroxides sharing distinctive oxidized phospholipid profiles. As a unique cell death pathway, ferroptosis is both morphologically and mechanistically different from other types of programmed cell death involving executioner family proteins. The accumulation of cytotoxic lipid peroxides encompasses a cellular antagonism between ferroptosis execution and defense systems, with iron-dependent death occurring when ferroptosis-promoting activities significantly exceed the cellular antioxidant defenses. The most recent molecular breakthroughs in the execution of ferroptosis have aroused great consideration in tumor biology, as targeting ferroptosis can provide new tools for exploring therapeutic strategies for tumor suppression. Mutations and death/survival pathway alterations, as well as distinctive metabolic regulations of cancer cells, including the propensity to generate ROS, are seen as features that can render cancer cells unprotected to ferroptosis, thereby exposing vulnerabilities which deserve further attention to be regarded as targetable for cancers with limited therapeutic options. Autophagy is a conserved, cellular self-degradation system that is essential for maintaining intracellular homeostasis. Increasing evidence suggests that autophagy plays an important dual regulatory role in the development of many human diseases, such as cancer. Recent studies have shown that the autophagy process in tumor cells can be regulated by various stimuli from both intracellular and extracellular environments, including the effects of anesthesia. Anesthetics have been shown to not only have clinical anesthetic and sedative effects but also play important roles in the progression of tumors. The effects of different types of anesthetics on tumors differ. In this review, we summarize the basic information on autophagy, the regulatory function of autophagy in cancer, currently used autophagy-targeted tumor therapy, and the effects of different types of anesthetics on tumor progression. We focus on the molecular mechanisms by which anesthetics exert tumor-inhibiting effects by activating or inhibiting autophagy. Herein, we also explore the potential application of the anesthetic/autophagy system in clinical tumor treatment. These findings provide a theoretical basis for the use of anesthetics during the perioperative period to suppress tumor development and provide insights for autophagy-targeted cancer treatment and drug development. OBJECTIVES: To evaluate differences among stress, resilience, and coping strategies related to morning and evening fatigue profiles (both low, low morning and moderate evening, both moderate, and both high). SAMPLE & SETTING: Data were collected from 1,334 adult patients with cancer receiving chemotherapy. METHODS & VARIABLES: Morning and evening fatigue severity were rated over two cycles of chemotherapy using the Lee Fatigue Scale. Latent profile analysis was used to identify patient subgroups with distinct joint morning and evening profiles. Data were collected on global, cancer-specific, and cumulative life stress; resilience; and coping strategies. Differences among the latent classes were evaluated using parametric and nonparametric tests. RESULTS: Compared to the other three classes, the both high class reported the highest stress scores, highest occurrence of and effects from a variety of stressful life events, lowest resilience scores, and higher use of disengagement coping strategies. The both high class met the criteria for subsyndromal post-traumatic stress disorder. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of the Re-Mission video game on the fatigue and quality of life of adolescents diagnosed with cancer. A total of 46 adolescents aged who received inpatient chemotherapy treatment in the pediatric hematology clinic were enrolled in the study. The data were obtained by using the Personal Information Form, Scale for the Assessment of Fatigue in Pediatric Oncology Patients Aged 13–18 and Quality of Life scale. Intergroup comparisons demonstrated that there was a significant difference between the experimental and control groups in terms of their mean scores for the overall Scale for the Assessment of Fatigue and Quality of Life calculated at the baseline of the study and one month and three months. Simple Summary: Although immune check point inhibitors have been established as a new paradigm in cancer treatment, they have shown no clinical benefit in immune excluded or dessert tumors. Dendritic cells promote and coordinate the immune system. Dendritic cell vaccination enriches tumor milieu and potentiates patient systemic antitumoral responses. In this work we review the strengths and weaknesses of dendritic cell vaccines in different solid tumors regarding their role to improve their clinical efficacy. To date, dendritic cell vaccines have induced immune responses in patients without a significant impact on outcome. Improvements in vaccine formulations, selection of patients and combinations with other antitumoral therapies are needed to increase patients' survival. Cancer immunotherapy modulates the immune system, overcomes immune escape and stimulates immune defenses against tumors. Dendritic cells (DCs) are professional promoters of immune responses against tumor antigens with the outstanding ability to coordinate the innate and adaptive immune systems. Evidence suggests that there is a decrease in both the number and function of DCs in cancer patients. Therefore, they represent a strong scaffold for therapeutic interventions. DC vaccination (DCV) is safe, and the antitumoral responses induced are well established in solid tumors. Although the addition of checkpoint inhibitors (CPIs) to chemotherapy has provided new options in the treatment of cancer, they have shown no clinical benefit in immune desert tumors or in those tumors with dysfunctional or exhausted T-cells. In this way, DC-based therapy has demonstrated the ability to modify the tumor microenvironment for immune enriched tumors and to potentiate systemic host immune responses as an active approach to treating cancer patients. Application of DCV in cancer seeks to obtain long-term antitumor responses through an improved T-cell priming by enhancing previous or generating de novo immune responses. To date, DCV has induced immune responses in the peripheral blood of patients without a significant clinical impact on outcome. Thus, improvements in vaccines formulations, selection of patients based on biomarkers and combinations with other antitumoral therapies are needed to enhance patient survival. In this work, we review the role of DCV in different solid tumors with their strengths and weaknesses, and we finally mention new trends to improve the efficacy of this immune strategy. Simple Summary: Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a cancer treatment that uses photogenerated reactive oxygen species (ROS) to damage target cells. The unique mechanism of action of PDT involves the systemic or local administration of a photosensitizing compound (photosensitizer), which is then activated by light of a specific energy. PDT induces a very strong local inflammatory response. A number of adaptive mechanisms are induced within the tumor, related to increased amino acid metabolism and damage to lymphatic vessels. In this review, we are describing the adaptive immune response induced by ROS and generated by PDT. Cancer is one of the most significant causes of death worldwide. Despite the rapid development of modern forms of therapy, results are still unsatisfactory. The prognosis is further worsened by the ability of cancer cells to metastasize. Thus, more effective forms of therapy, such as photodynamic therapy, are constantly being developed. The photodynamic therapeutic regimen involves administering a photosensitizer that selectively accumulates in tumor cells or is present in tumor vasculature prior to irradiation with light at a wavelength corresponding to the photosensitizer absorbance, leading to the generation of reactive oxygen species. Reactive oxygen species are responsible for the direct and indirect destruction of cancer cells. Photodynamically induced local inflammation has been shown to have the ability to activate an adaptive immune system response resulting in the destruction of tumor lesions and the creation of an immune memory. This paper focuses on presenting the latest scientific reports on the specific immune response activated by photodynamic therapy. We present newly discovered mechanisms for the induction of the adaptive response by analyzing its various stages, and the possible difficulties in generating it. To examine the effectiveness of Mind Over Matter (MOM), a group psychosocial intervention based on CBT, ACT, and mind-body interventions, from data collected during a quality improvement project. MOM was offered in person prior to COVID-19 and via telehealth after COVID-19 began. Distress, as measured by anxiety, depression, the severity of physical symptoms and the impact of physical symptoms on daily functioning, was measured pre- and post-MOM. The sample included 46 participants with an experience of cancer ranging in age from 31 to 75. Overall, there were significant differences in anxiety, depression, and physical symptom severity and interference pre and post MOM. The in-person intervention showed significant differences in anxiety, depression, and physical symptom interference. There were significant differences in anxiety and physical symptom severity reported in the telehealth groups. MOM may be an effective psychosocial intervention for addressing cancer-related physical and emotional challenges making it a valuable resource for institutions trying to meet needs identified by distress screenings. This article explores healthcare professionals' experiences of their work with patient communication in standardised cancer patient pathways (CPPs). The theoretical and methodological framework for this study is institutional ethnography. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with 72 healthcare professionals, including general practitioners, specialist physicians and other hospital staff, in five Norwegian hospitals. The study reveals four aspects of communication work that illuminate how the CPP policy mediates the way healthcare professionals interact with patients through communicating continuity, communicating (by dodging) the dreaded C-word, communicating patient participation, and communicating the relevance of time. Healthcare professionals' balancing of their different experiential realities run as a common thread through the four aspects of communication work identified in this study.
