The objective of this article is to present a systematization of some of the information collected in field work in the macroregion called Matopiba, held between June 13 and 23, 2018. From the significant amount of data and perspectives from the visits, we limited ourselves to identify the information related to the daily life of the peasant communities present, specifically, in the Intermediate Region of Piauí's Southwest. The results of this systematization are presented in two axes, composed by analyzes of the verticalities and horizontalities in the relationship between the environmentalism of the poor and the global land grabbing, consequential phenomena of the advance of the globalized agribusiness in the region. In this way, based on the analysis of this article, we intend to underline how the local peasant resistance develops against the human and environmental impacts resulting from the agribusiness investments.
