Summary Background The use of magnetically controlled capsules for gastroscopy is in the early stages of clinical adoption. We aimed to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a fully automated magnetically controlled capsule endoscopy (FAMCE) system in clinical practice for gastroscopy and small bowel examination. Methods We did a prospective, comparative study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of FAMCE. Patients from two hospitals in Chongqing, China were consecutively enrolled. Eligible participants were aged 18–80 years with suspected gastric pathology and no previous surgery. Participants underwent FAMCE for screening of gastric lesions, then conventional transoral gastroscopy 2 h later, and stomach examination results were compared. The primary outcome was the rate of complete detection of gastric anatomy landmarks (cardia, fundus, body, angulus, antrum, and pylorus) by FAMCE. Secondary outcomes were the time required for gastric completion by FAMCE, the rate of detection of gastric lesions by FAMCE compared with conventional transoral gastroscopy, and the rate of complete small bowel examination. Adverse events were also evaluated. The study was registered in the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry, ChiCTR2000040507. Findings Between May 12 and Aug 17, 2020, 114 patients (mean age 44·0 years [IQR 34·0–55·0]; 63 [55%] female) were enrolled. The rate of complete detection of gastric anatomical structures by FAMCE was 100% (95% CI 99·3–100·0). The concordance between FAMCE and conventional transoral gastroscopy was 99·61% (99·45–99·78). The mean completion time of a gastroscopy with FAMCE was 19·17 min (SD 1·43; median 19·00, IQR 19·00–20·00), compared with 5·21 min (2·00; 5·18, 3·68–6·45) for conventional transoral gastroscopy. In 114 enrolled patients, 214 lesions were detected by FAMCE and conventional transoral gastroscopy. Of those, 193 were detected by both modalities. FAMCE missed five pathologies (four cases of gastritis and one polyp), whereas conventional transoral gastroscopy missed 16 pathologies (12 cases of gastritis, one polyp, one fundal xanthoma, and two antral erosions). FAMCE was able to provide a complete small bowel examination for all 114 patients and detected intestinal lesions in 50 (44%) patients. During the study, two (2%) patients experienced adverse events. No serious adverse events were recorded, and there was no evidence of capsule retention. Interpretation The performance of FAMCE is similar to conventional transoral gastroscopy in completion of gastric examination and lesion detection. Furthermore, it can provide a complete small bowel examination. Therefore, FAMCE could be effective method for examination of the gastrointestinal tract. GOAL: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of vitamin C solution (VCS) in reducing adverse reactions caused by painless Lugol chromoendoscopy. BACKGROUND: Lugol chromoendoscopy is an effective method for screening superficial esophageal squamous cell carcinoma, although Lugol iodine solution (LIS) causes mucosal irritation. STUDY: In 4 hospitals in China, patients were randomized and divided into a distilled water (DW) group, an sodium thiosulfate solution (STS) group and a VCS group. Patients' esophageal mucosal surfaces were stained with either 1.2% or 0.5% LIS and then sprayed with DW, STS, or VCS at various concentrations. For the current randomized study, 1610 patients were enrolled in the 1.2% LIS group and 1355 patients were enrolled in the 0.5% LIS group. In addition, 150 patients were enrolled to assess the discoloration effect. The primary outcome for evaluation was the incidence of acute or late adverse reactions after Lugol iodine staining. The secondary outcome for evaluation was the discoloration effect on esophageal iodine-stained mucosa. A face-pumped Nd:YAG slab laser with high-power output and temperature fluctuation adaptability is proposed and demonstrated for the first time. A two-dimensional (2D) vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) array at 808 nm with a low wavelength shift coefficient is used as the pump source with a total pump power of 1.38 kW. The array is cooled by a double-layer vascularized macro-channel heat sink for effective heat management. A 1064 nm maximum power of 437 W from the slab laser is obtained by optimizing the output coupling, and the power variation is only ±4.9% over the temperature range from 16 °C to 34 °C. The results show that the high-power slab laser pumped by VCSEL has an excellent performance in temperature tolerance and lower requirements for coolant, which is only water cooled by the macro-channel heat sink and no need for deionized water; it also provides a solution for high power lasers used in the complicated environment. Furthermore, it is possible to scale the output power to ~kW-level by further increasing the VCSEL pump power.

We aimed to explore the anti-inflammatory activity of mollugin extracted from Rubia cordifolia L, a traditional Chinese medicine, on dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced ulcerative colitis (UC) in mice. Thirty C57BL/6 mice were divided into a control group (n=6), a model group (n=6), and three experimental groups (40, 20, 10 mg/kg of mollugin, n=6 each). DSS solution (3%) was given to mice in the model group and experimental groups from day 4 to day 10 to induce the mouse UC model. Mice in the experimental groups were intragastrically administrated mollugin from day 1 to day 10. Animals were orally given distilled water in the control group for the whole experiment time and in the model group from day 1 to day 3. The changes in colon pathology were detected by hematoxylin and eosin (HE) staining. Interleukin-1β (IL-1β) in the serum, and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) and interferon-γ (IFN) in the tissues were measured by enzyme linked immunosorbent assay. Expression levels of Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) and myeloid differentiation factor 88 in the colon tissues were detected by immunohistochemistry. Background: Wound complications are a major source of morbidity after cesarean section (CS) and contribute to increased risks in subsequent pregnancies. In the present study, we aim to investigate the wound healing potential of a kind of oligopeptide compound, mainly derived from the marine fish peptides (MFPs), in rats after CS by biomechanical, biochemical, and histological methods. Methods: Eighty-four pregnant Sprague–Dawleyrats were randomly assigned to four groups, namely the control group and 1.1, 2.2, and 4.4 mg/kg MFP groups, respectively. The MFPs or normal saline of the equal volume was intragastrically administered every morning on the second day after CS. On days 5, 10, and 15 after the surgery, seven rats from each group were randomly selected. The samples of skin wound and uterus were harvested and then used for the following experiments and analyses. Results: Using the CS rat model, this study demonstrated that in the MFP groups, the skin tensile strength, uterine bursting pressure, and hydroxyproline (Hyp) were significantly higher than those in the control group at all three time points (P < 0.05). The formation of collagen and smooth muscle fibers and the expression of CD34 and connective tissue growth factor at the incision site were increasingly observed in the MFP groups (P < 0.05). Conclusions: MFPs have a great potential to accelerate the process and quality of wound healing in rats after CS.

We demonstrate a high power two-dimensional vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser (VCSEL) array cooled by liquid metal. An output power of 1.1 kW at 808 nm with 39% power conversion efficiency (PCE) is obtained under continuous-wave (CW) operation. To the best of our knowledge, this is the highest output power reported for a laser diode array with liquid metal cooling. Moreover, the wavelength drift is only 1.2 nm from lasing threshold to 1.1 kW output power. Using this laser diode array as pumping module, a solid-state Nd:YAG slab laser at 1064 nm reaches 312 W output power. This verifies that the laser diode array cooled by liquid metal can be used as a pumping source for high power lasers. The higher power scaling can be achieved by two-dimensional geometric extension to the macro-channel heat sink and increasing the flux of the liquid metal.

Although cuprous phosphide (Cu3P) has been widely studied and applied in other fields, its photoluminescence (PL) properties are rarely investigated. Herein, we report that Cu3P can emit near-infrared light at 750 nm. We show that the annealing and the presence of cuprous oxide can enhance the PL emission. The mechanism of the PL enhancement is the improvement of crystal quality and the formation of a space charge region. Our results provide a reference for improving the PL properties of p-type semiconductors.

One central task of developing nonvolatile phase change memory (PCM) is to improve its scalability for high‐density data integration. In this work, by first‐principles molecular dynamics, to date the thinnest PCM material possible (0.8 nm), namely, a monolayer Sb2Te3, is proposed. Importantly, its SET (crystallization) process is a fast one‐step transition from amorphous to hexagonal phase without the usual intermediate cubic phase. An increased spatial localization of electrons due to geometrical confinement is found to be beneficial for keeping the data nonvolatile in the amorphous phase at the 2D limit. The substrate and superstrate can be utilized to control the phase change behavior: e.g., with passivated SiO2 (001) surfaces or hexagonal Boron Nitride, the monolayer Sb2Te3 can reach SET recrystallization in 0.54 ns or even as fast as 0.12 ns, but with unpassivated SiO2 (001), this would not be possible. Besides, working with small volume PCM materials is also a natural way to lower power consumption. Therefore, the proposed PCM working process at the 2D limit will be an important potential strategy of scaling the current PCM materials for ultrahigh‐density data storage., By first‐principles molecular dynamics, this work proposes a phase change memory (PCM) process at the 2D limit that is achieved in a monolayer Sb2Te3 for the first time. This will be a potential strategy for improving the performance of PCM technology to realize high integrated density, fast speed, low power consumption, or even artificial intelligence applications.

Background and Objectives Calcium-sensing receptor (CaSR) is known to regulate hypoxia-induced pulmonary hypertension (HPH) and vascular remodeling via the phenotypic modulation of pulmonary arterial smooth muscle cells (PASMCs) in small pulmonary arteries. Moreover, autophagy is an essential modulator of VSMC phenotype. But it is not clear whether CaSR can regulate autophagy involving the phenotypic modulation under hypoxia. Methods The viability of human PASMCs was detected by cell cycle and BrdU. The expressions of proliferation protein, phenotypic marker protein, and autophagy protein in human PASMCs were determined by western blot. Results Our results showed that hypoxia-induced autophagy was considerable at 24 h. The addition of NPS2390 decreased the expression of autophagy protein and synthetic phenotype marker protein osteopontin and increased the expression of contractile phenotype marker protein SMA-ɑ and calponin via suppressing downstream PI3K/Akt/mTOR signal pathways. Conclusions Our study demonstrates that treatment of NPS2390 was conducive to inhibit the proliferation and reverse phenotypic modulation of PASMCs by regulating autophagy levels.

We theoretically investigate the single-photon router using two Rydberg atoms embedded in a multi-channel coupled cavity arrays(CCAs) driven by a classical field. It is shown that when the Rydberg interaction is in the proper range, three kinds of photons with different frequencies are absorbed and the quantum routing can be achieved due to the spontaneous emission of the formed dressed states. The Rydberg interaction can also cause photons that are not originally in the energy range to be routed. Furthermore, the total reflection of the single photon is obtained because of the coherent resonance and the existence of the photonic bound states. Based on these characteristics, it is a feasible scheme to generate a multi-frequency photons router and it could be useful for designing the single-photon devices.

The objective of this study was to investigate the inhibitory effect of miR-135a in regulating JAK/STAT signaling pathway on airway inflammation in asthmatic mice. An asthma model was established by sensitization and stimulation with ovalbumin (OVA), and the corresponding drug intervention was given from the day of stimulation by means of nasal drops. Airway hyperresponsiveness was tested. The content of miR-135a in the lung tissue of mice was detected by RT-PCR. The pathological changes of lung tissue were evaluated by HE staining. Tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α, interleukin (IL)-6, IL-5, and eotaxin in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) and lung tissue were detected by ELISA and immunohistochemistry, respectively. The expression of JAK/STAT signaling pathway-related protein in lung tissue was detected by western blot. To further validate the effect of miR-135a overexpression on the JAK/STAT signaling pathway, pathway activators and inhibitors were added. Compared with the OVA group, the airway hyperresponsiveness of the mice was significantly decreased after treatment with the miR-135a agonist. The expression of miR-135a was significantly increased in the lung tissue and the pathological changes of the lung tissue were alleviated. An optical fiber magnetic field sensor based on lossy mode resonance (LMR) was designed. Furthermore, a hollow core-offset structure was designed to enhance the performance. Due to the destruction of the circular symmetry structure, the sensor has strong birefringence, resulting in x-polarization and y-polarization with two independent resonance valleys. The refractive index changes from 1.358 to 1.390 and a high sensitivity of 11,483.12 nm/RIU was obtained. In addition, the influence of structural parameters on the sensor was investigated. Magnetic field sensitivities of 893 pm/Gs and 754 pm/Gs were obtained theoretically. The feasibility of LMR is demonstrated for magnetic field measurements and a reference is provided for an optical fiber magnetic field.

The multi-objective feature selection from software product lines is a problem that has attracted increasing attention in recent years. However, current studies on this problem suffer from two main limitations: (1) resource constraints are naturally adhered to the feature selection process, but they are completely ignored or inadequately handled, and (2) there is a strong preference to the use of evolutionary algorithms for the feature selection problem, and the suitability of other multi-objective metaheuristics remains to be fully explored. To address the above two limitations, this paper proposes the multi-objective feature selection with multiple linear and non-linear resource constraints, and investigates the performance of decomposition-based metaheuristics on the proposed problem. We construct a number of problem instances using both artificial and real-world software product lines, considering 2, 3 and 4 objectives. Experimental results show that, within the decomposition-based framework, reproduction operators that are based on probabilistic models (PM) perform better than genetic operators. Moreover, we demonstrate that adaptation of weight vectors can further improve the performance. Finally, we show that PMAD (the combination of PM-based reproduction operators, adaptation of weight vectors and decomposition-based framework) is better than several state-of-the-art algorithms when handling this problem.

Objective: Reading small bowel capsule endoscopy (SBCE) is a tedious task. We aim to evaluate the performance of a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) algorithm (SmartScan)-assisted reading in the setting of real-life clinical care. Design: A total of 5,825 SBCE examinations (comprising 295,314,067 images) performed in 51 Chinese medical centres were collected. 2,927 SBCE examinations from 29 medical centres were used to train SmartScan to detect 17 CEST findings. SmartScan was later validated in 2,898 SBCE examinations collected from 22 medical centres. All 2,898 SBCE examinations were read with both Conventional Reading (CR) and SmartScan-Assisted Reading (SSAR) by eight specialist gastroenterologists. If finding(s)/results by both types of reading in a patient were concordant, the result was taken as the Combined Agreed Comparator (CAC) for that case. In discordant cases, the consensus result by three expert readers was taken as the CAC for the case. Results: SSAR achieved an overall higher detection rate (79.30%) for CEST findings compared to CR (70.67%); from a total of 6,084 SB findings, SSAR detected 95.89%, significantly higher compared to CR (76.10%). Furthermore, SSAR achieved overall higher sensitivity (98.80%), for the 17 CEST subtypes of findings, 10.75% higher than CR (88.05%). With SSAR, the number of images requiring review per SB CE video was reduced to 779.17 ±337.18, with reading time was shortened to 5.37 ±1.51min. C Conclusion: A commercially available CNN algorithm (SmartScan) can increase the detection rate of SB findings while reducing SB CE reading times. Direct optical ferroelectric switching (FE switch) has the advantage of being ultrafast over the traditional FE switch, which relies on domain nucleation and growth. However, how to realize nonvolatility in such an optical FE switch poses a serious challenge. Time-dependent density-functional theory molecular dynamics study reveals that subpicosecond nonvolatile FE switches can be realized in GeTe and ${\mathrm{PbTiO}}_{3}$. While optical tuning of the transition barrier and initiation of a directional atomic motion are crucial, the dephasing of the excited state holds the key for the realization of nonvolatility.

Data are scarce regarding the comorbid mental disorders and their management among COVID-19 patients. This study described the clinical characteristics and management of COVID-19 patients treated in psychiatric inpatient settings due to comorbid first-onset mental disorders in Wuhan, China. This electronic medical records-based study included 25 COVID-19 patients with first-onset mental disorders and 55 patients with first-onset mental disorders without COVID-19 (control group). Data collected included ICD-10 diagnoses of mental disorders, psychiatric and respiratory symptoms, treatments, and outcomes. Adjustment disorder (n = 11, 44.0%) and acute and transient psychotic disorders, with associated acute stress (n = 6, 24.0%) were main clinical diagnoses in the COVID-19 group while serious mental illnesses (i.e., schizophrenia, 24.5%) and alcohol use disorders (10.9%) were overrepresented in the control group. On admission, the most common psychiatric symptom in COVID-19 patients was insomnia symptoms (n = 18, 72.0%), followed by aggressive behaviors (n = 16, 64.0%), delusion (n = 10, 40.0%), and severe anxiety (n = 9, 36.0%). In addition to respiratory treatments, 76.0% COVID-19 patients received antipsychotics, 40.0% sedative-hypnotics, and 24.0% mood stabilizers. At the end of inpatient treatment, 4 (16.0%) COVID-19 patients were transferred to other hospitals to continue respiratory treatment after their psychiatric symptoms were controlled while the remaining 21 (84.0%) all recovered. Rationale: Nabothian cysts are mucus-filled cervical cysts that are usually asymptomatic unless they become very large. Chronic urinary retention is the persistent inability to empty the bladder despite maintaining an ability to urinate. Chronic urinary retention caused by a large, deep nabothian cyst has not been reported previously. Patient concerns: A 46-year-old woman presented with chronic urinary retention and a cervical cyst that gradually increased in size. Diagnosis: Based on histopathological evidence, our patient was diagnosed with a nabothian cyst. Interventions: A hysterectomy was performed. Outcomes: The urinary symptoms of the patient resolved after she performed clean, intermittent self-catheterizations for 5 days after the operation. She was discharged on postoperative day 6. Lessons: Large nabothian cysts are rare but may account for some unusual symptoms including unexplained urinary difficulties in women. We recommend treating symptomatic nabothian cysts with local cystectomies or hysterectomies.

Background and Aims Esophageal stricture is a common adverse event after endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) when it involves the entire circumference of the esophagus. We aimed to assess the effectiveness and safety of endoscopic transplantation of autologous esophageal mucosa in preventing stricture formation after circumferential ESD. Methods Nine patients who underwent circumferential ESD for early esophageal cancer were enrolled. After the patients underwent ESD, autologous esophageal mucosal patches were attached to the ulcer surface by using hemoclips and were then fixed with a covered metal mesh stent. The stent was removed 7 days after the procedure. The patients were followed up with endoscopy at scheduled times. Results Epithelialization occurred within a median of 7.1 days, with a graft survival rate of 96.5%. Strictures occurred at a mean of 24.7 days (range 18-34 days) after the procedure. The median number of endoscopic balloon dilatation sessions was 2.7 (range 0-6). Conclusions Transplantation of autologous esophageal mucosa could be a safe way of relieving the severity of esophageal stricture after circumferential ESD.

Considering the random fluctuations of the layer thickness, a method of robust design of broadband EUV multilayers based on multi-objective evolutionary algorithm is presented. Owing to the optimization of multi-objective evolutionary algorithm, the optical performance and robust quality of broadband Mo/Si multilayer can be optimized simultaneously, and then a set of robust designs of aperiodic EUV multilayers, which are insensitive to the thickness errors can be obtained in one single simulation run. The robust designs of broadband Mo/Si multilayers could be used to reduce the production risks of EUV mirrors, and this research demonstrates a great potential of application of multi-objective evolutionary algorithm on the design of optical thin film.

Phase-change memory (PCM) material is the promising material system for nonvolatile-memory technology. Performance optimization of PCM device urgently requires the deeper clarification of its material “Gene”. In this study, through first-principles calculations, p-orbital-aligned atom chains are identified to play important roles in governing optoelectronic reflectivity in amorphous Ge2Sb2Te5. These atom chains make the electronic state of the amorphous Ge2Sb2Te5 hold strong electron-polarized components, thereby governing the optical property. The present study offers a new understanding of “Gene” for PCM materials which benefit the material design and the performance improvement of PCM devices.

The bank account location (BAL) problem is an NP-hard discrete optimization problem. A few experimental studies have shown that evolutionary algorithms are efficient methods for the BAL problem. However, from theoretical point of view, we know little about the performance of evolutionary algorithms (EAs) on the BAL problem. In this paper, we contribute to theoretical understanding of EAs on the BAL problem. The worst-case bounds on a simple evolutionary algorithm called (1 + 1) EA and a global simple multiobjective evolutionary algorithm called GSEMO for the BAL problem is presented. We reveal that the (1 + 1) EA can find a $({k}/({2k-1}))$ approximation solution for the BAL problem. We also find that GSEMO can obtain an approximate solution on the BAL problem with value not less than $(1-({1}/{e}))OPT$ in expected polynomial runtime $O(n^{2} \log n+nk^{2})$ , where $OPT$ is the optimal fitness function value, $n$ is the number of banks that can open accounts, and $k$ is the maximum number of accounts that can be maintained. Meanwhile, we demonstrate that the (1+1) EA and GSEMO are superior to some local search algorithms with interchange neighborhood on an instance, and we also show that GSEMO can efficiently optimize another instance while the (1 + 1) EA may be inefficient.

External electric fields can be used to manipulate the electronic properties of two-dimensional (2D) materials. 2D InSe semiconductors possess high electron mobility and wide band gap tunability. Therefore, they have been proposed for use in ultrathin electronic devices. Here, using first-principles calculations, we study the charge polarization, structure, electronic structure, and gas adsorption of an InSe monolayer under vertical electric fields. We find that both the structural evolution and charge polarization rely on the directions of the electric fields. The hole effective mass at the valance band maximum can be decreased by fields that offer a possible route to increase mobility. In contrast, the fields have little impact on the effective mass of electrons at the conduction band minimum. Therefore, high electron mobility in InSe is retained under the fields. Besides, electric fields could alter the absorption intensity for gas molecules. Therefore, gas sensors could be an expected application. More importantly, this work systematically points out some key steps for setting up electric-field calculations in the popular VASP code, such as the cancellation of the symmetrisation of the charge density, avoiding electrons spilling out into the vacuum under high fields.

Compression and liquefaction of carbon dioxide are important parts of the carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) process. A CCUS project with an actual workload of 1 million tons/year of China is simulated and analyzed in this paper. A new process scheme of compressed liquefaction of CO2 in the CCUS project by using liquid natural gas (LNG) cold energy through CO2 pipeline transportation is proposed to save energy and reduce consumption. The CO2 hydrate prediction models were compared. Based on the thermodynamic path of the CO2 compression liquefaction process, the energy consumption of four process models is compared. The relevant factors, which affect the economy of the new process are investigated, and the technical and economic model is optimized for the new technology scheme of CO2 pipeline. The total cost of the new process of economic is evaluated and the effective quantitative distances for energy saving are obtained. The results show that when the moisture content of CO2 is below 500ppmMol, the new technology will not cause hydrate blockage. The economic viability of the new process (Three stage compression with compressor + liquefaction by using cold energy + pump) is significantly affected by the distance between the LNG receiving station and thermal power plant, and the total cost will be reduced by 30%, 23% , and 8% at a distance of 25, 50 and 100 km, respectively. The distance between LNG receiving station and gas power plant is 125 km, the application of new technology can bring about energy saving and consumption reduction. Through the sensitivity analysis based on NPV and IRR of the new process, the results are economically feasible, and CO2 profit is the most sensitive factor.

Although inhibitor of differentiation 1 (Id‑1) and NF‑κB have been shown have play a role in tumorigenesis, their mechanisms and exact roles in cervical cancer have not yet been addressed. This study aimed to investigate the clinical significance of Id‑1 and NF‑κB p65 in cervical cancer and to elucidate their roles in malignant properties. Paraffin‑embedded cervical tissue specimens (n=85) were collected for immunohistochemistry and survival analysis. Targeting Id‑1 with lentivirus in vitro allowed the examination of the NF‑κB signaling pathway and cell survival. The results demonstrated the elevated co‑expression of Id‑1 and nuclear NF‑κB p65 was more frequently associated with aggressive cervical cancer behavior and poorer clinical outcomes. Targeting Id‑1 with short hairpin RNA or Id‑1 overexpression lentivirus in SiHa cells demonstrated that Id‑1 is associated with nuclear NF‑κB p65 expression and cell survival capacity. The physical interaction between Id‑1 and NF‑κB p65 was validated in SiHa cells. Moreover, the survival‑promoting or chemoresistant effects of Id‑1 may be attributed to the subsequent activation of NF‑κB signaling. On the whole, the synchronous co‑expression of Id‑1 and nuclear NF‑κB p65 has a prominent role in cervical cancer, suggesting a combined analysis of Id‑1 and NF‑κB may help to predict malignant properties and prognosis. Aside from NF‑κB, Id‑1 may also be developed as a promising therapeutic strategy for cervical cancer.

This paper presents an overview of the NLPCC 2019 shared task on cross-domain dependency parsing, including (1) the data annotation process, (2) task settings, (3) methods, results, and analysis of submitted systems and our recent work (Li+19), (4) discussions on related works and future directions. Considering that unsupervised domain adaptation is very difficult and has made limited progress in the past decades, we for the first time setup semi-supervised subtasks that allow to use a few thousand target-domain labeled sentences for training. We provide about 17 K labeled sentences from a balanced corpus as the source domain (BC), and as three target domains 10 K sentences from product comments (PC), 8 K sentences from product blogs (PB), and 3 K sentences from the web fiction named “Zhuxian” (ZX). Information on anatomy of the Cun position at wrist is lacking; whether the blood vessel taking pulse in Cun is the radial artery or the superficial palmar branch is also clinically controversial. The objective was to investigate the boundaries and contents, and the vascular distribution and their pulse points in Cun. Thirty-two upper extremities of 16 human cadavers were investigated for dissection and observation. The boundaries, contents, and blood vessel distribution in Cun were observed; the location of pulse points in Cun was identified; the length of the superficial palmar branch in wrist pulse (L1), the pulp width of the index finger (L2), and the angle between the radial artery and the superficial palmar branch were measured. The results showed that the Cun was located in the region formed by the bulge of the prominent bone proximal to the palm, the radial flexor tendon, the tubercle of scaphoid, and the abductor longus muscle tendon. In this area, the radial artery could be pulsed part in the medial side of the abductor longus muscle tendon, while the superficial palmar branch lied near the surface and was easy to pulse in the lateral side of the radial flexor tendon and the medial side of the tubercle of scaphoid. The ratio of L1 to L2 was 1.2±0.8, and the angle was 23.3±9.9°. The results suggested that it could not be generalized that the blood vessel taking pulse in Cun was the radial artery or the superficial palmar branch; it might depend on the vascular distribution in Cun, the region of finger positioning, and the patient’s pulse condition.

Introduction: Ovarian large cell neuroendocrine carcinoma (LCNEC), or ovarian non-small cell neuroendocrine carcinoma, which is a newly described tumour in the classification of primary ovarian neoplasms by the World Health Organization, is a rare entity that is frequently associated with a surface epithelial and germ cell neoplasm component. Few cases have been reported in the literature, and only 18 primary pure ovarian LCNEC cases have been reported so far, including our 1 case. Ovarian LCNEC is a highly aggressive tumor with a poor prognosis even at an early stage. Patient concerns: We report a case of a 55-year-old postmenopausal woman who complained of abdominal pain. CT examination revealed a mass in the right adnexial region and CA125 level was elevated. Diagnosis: She underwent a exploratory laparotomy, and diagnosed as LCNEC histopathologically. Interventions: Cytoreductive surgery was administered to the patient, and had accepted 5 cycles of chemotherapy consisting of paclitaxel and cisplatin. Outcomes: Follow-up for 12 months showed no clinical or radiological evidence of disease recurrence. Conclusion: This case is 1 of the ovarian LCNEC which is a rare and extremely malignant tumor. Diagnosis requires histopathology and immunohistochemistry. The treatment includes primary cytoreductive surgery followed by chemotherapy.

To perform a meta-analysis to help resolve the controversy of whether the Angiogenin (ANG) rs11701 polymorphism is associated with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) risk. A literature search of PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, Chinese National Knowledge Infrastructure, Wanfang and SinoMed was conducted for eligible studies published up to Jun 5, 2015. The strength of the association between the polymorphism and ALS susceptibility was estimated by odds ratio (OR) and associated 95 % confidence interval (CI). The pooled ORs were assessed for the dominant model (TG + GG vs. TT), recessive model (GG vs. TG + TT), heterozygote model (TG vs. TT), homozygote model (GG vs. TT) and allele model (G vs. T). Ten eligible articles were identified, which reported 14 case-control studies and a total of 5807 cases and 3861 controls. Analysis of pooled ORs and 95 % CIs suggested lack of association between the ANG rs11701 polymorphism and risk for ALS, Familial ALS or Sporadic ALS (all p value for z test >0.05). A stratified analysis according to Caucasian or Han Chinese origin further showed that the rs11701 polymorphism was not associated with the disease risk in Caucasians or Han Chinese. There is no difference in the polymorphism frequencies between patients with FALS or SALS. The ANG rs11701 polymorphism was not associated with risk for ALS, FALS or SALS. There is no difference between the polymorphism frequencies in patients with FALS or SALS. Further well-designed studies with larger populations are required to validate these results.

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the therapeutic effects of human umbilical cord-derived mesenchymal stem cells (hUC-MSC) activated by curcumin (CUR) on PC12 cells induced by 1-methyl-4-phenylpyridinium ion (MPP+), a cell model of Parkinson’s disease (PD). The supernatant of hUC-MSC and hUC-MSC activated by 5 µmol/L CUR (hUC-MSC-CUR) were collected in accordance with the same concentration. The cell proliferation and differentiation potential to dopaminergic neuronal cells and antioxidation were observed in PC12 cells after being treated with the above two supernatants and 5 µmol/L CUR. The results showed that the hUC-MSC-CUR could more obviously promote the proliferation and the expression of tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) and microtubule associated protein-2 (MAP2) and significantly decreased the expression of nitric oxide (NO) and inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) in PC12 cells. Furtherly, cytokines detection gave a clue that the expression of IL-6, IL-10, and NGF was significantly higher in the group treated with the hUC-MSC-CUR compared to those of other two groups. Therefore, the hUC-MSC-CUR may be a potential strategy to promote the proliferation and differentiation of PD cell model, therefore providing new insights into a novel therapeutic approach in PD.

Osteoradionecrosis occurs in 4.74% to 37.5% of patients following radiation therapy for head and neck cancer. Osteoradionecrosis mostly happens in the mandible but seldom occurs in other maxillofacial bones. Here, the authors reported a rare case of zygomatic osteoradionecrosis which occurred after maxillectomy and then radiotherapy because of maxillary myoepithelial carcinoma. After resection of zygoma sequestrum, the defect was repaired with forehead flap and healed uneventfully.

Epitaxial growth of III‐nitrides on 2D materials enables the realization of flexible optoelectronic devices for next‐generation wearable applications. Unfortunately, it is difficult to obtain high‐quality III‐nitride epilayers on 2D materials such as hexagonal BN (h‐BN) due to different atom hybridizations. Here, the epitaxy of single‐crystalline GaN films on the chemically activated h‐BN/Al2O3 substrates is reported, paying attention to interface atomic configuration. It is found that chemical‐activated h‐BN provides B—O—N and N—O bonds, where the latter ones act as effective artificial dangling bonds for following GaN nucleation, leading to Ga‐polar GaN films with a flat surface. The h‐BN is also found to be effective in modifying the compressive strain in GaN film and thus improves indium incorporation during the growth of InGaN quantum wells, resulting in the achievement of pure green light‐emitting diodes. This work provides an effective way for III‐nitrides epitaxy on h‐BN and a possible route to overcome the epitaxial bottleneck of high indium content III‐nitride light‐emitting devices., Epitaxy of single‐crystalline GaN films is performed on hexagonal BN (h‐BN)/sapphire substrates. This success is achieved through chemical activation on h‐BN, which generates N—O bonds, and thus provides nucleation sites for Ga‐polar GaN. Subsequently, pure green InGaN‐based light‐emitting diodes are fabricated with a considerable increase of indium incorporation, manifesting a great potential in long wavelength light‐emitting diodes.

We present a practical wide-field optical design for a 60 m aperture submillimeter telescope, which is currently under conceptual design study in China. The telescope is specified to operate over a wavelength range of 0.65–3 mm and provide a wide field of view (FOV) of 1° in diameter. We designed an F/6 Ritchey Chrétien (RC) system with a quasi-planar tertiary corrector, which cancels all spherical, coma, and astigmatism aberrations. It also achieves a good balance among the mirror sizes, central obscuration, and focal-plane curvature. The problems of focal surface curvature and nontelecentricity are treated in the subfield instrumental design, which employs a simple silicon wedge prism to obtain flat and telecentric focal planes for each subfield instrument module. Our studies show that by such a design, more than 10 5 detector pixels can be efficiently and uniformly fed at the shortest wavelength band with Strehl ratios above 0.85 across the entire 1° FOV. Several practical issues related to the telescope optics are also discussed.

In order to predict the flow field characteristic of slipper/swashplate pairs, environment models are derived to reveal fluid performance changing based on oceanic conditions. Then models of hydrostatic bearing system and pressure field are accomplished through studying flow process. Finally, the distributions of pressure and temperature are obtained by CFD simulation. The results show that, when working depth increases from sea level to 7000m, axial pressures at points A, B, C, and D increase continuously, oil-film presents wedge-shaped distribution. Meanwhile, temperature of oil-film creates behavior respectively including decreasing rapidly, transition adjusting and decreasing rapidly. This caused falling in the stability of oil-film. It is pointed out that deepening environment has a significant influence on field of pressure and temperature for slipper/swashplate pairs, which lays the foundation for analysis of flow field characteristics and performance optimization of piston pump in ocean deeps.
