Introduction: The involvement of the Female Genital Tract (FGT) by lymphoma is extremely rare, with ovaries being most commonly affected. Less than 1% of lymphomas present with ovarian involvement and less than 1.5% of ovarian neoplasms are of lymphoid origin. Secondary involvement of ovary by systemic lymphoma is more common than Primary Ovarian Lymphomas (POL) which is usually Primary Ovarian Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (PONHL) of B-cell lineage. Aim: To understand the clinicopathological and immuno- morphological features of Primary Ovarian Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Materials and Methods: This was a descriptive retrospective study conducted at Department of Pathology, Kidwai Memorial Institute of Oncology, Bengaluru, Karnataka. India, for a duration of 14 years between July 2006 to June 2020. Eight cases of PONHL were identified from departmental archives and clinicopathological and Immunohistochemistry (IHC) findings of these tumours were analysed. Results: The PONHL constituted 0.4% of all Non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) reported during the study period. The patients age ranged from 13-60 years with a mean age of 34 years. Among eight cases of PONHL, two cases were of Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma (DLBCL), followed by one case each of High- Grade B-Cell Lymphoma, Not Otherwise Specified (HGBL, NOS), Follicular Lymphoma (FL), Burkitt Lymphoma (BL), Plasmablastic Lymphoma (PBL), Precursor B-Lymphoblastic Lymphoma (B-LBL), and precursor T-Lymphoblastic Lymphoma (T-LBL). Seven cases were staged IE (Ann Arbor staging system) while one case was designated as stage IIE. Conclusion: This was probably the first study on PONHL from India. The diagnosis of PONHL is challenging unless there is a high index of suspicion as these patients present with non specific pelvic symptoms and can be misdiagnosed as other epithelial, stromal or germ cell ovarian neoplasm which differs in treatment and prognosis. Histological examination with IHC and molecular testing are essential to establish a diagnosis.

Primary pure neuroendocrine tumors of the testis are rare with a high malignant potential requiring long-term follow-up. Only limited number of studies are available in the literature. In the present study, we describe a case report of a 31 year old young man who presented with a left testicular swelling, initially misdiagnosed as seminoma. Later, after correlating with the morphology and immunohistochemistry the diagnosis of neuroendocrine tumor of testis was concluded. Neuroendocrine tumors cases should be kept in long term follow up, to prevent relapse and recurrence.

Kaposiform hemangioendothelioma (KHE) is a rare vascular tumor of intermediate malignancy with tendency for local invasion and recurrence. The tumor almost exclusively occurs in children, especially in infants. Intracranial KHE are extremely rare with only two cases reported in the literature. We report the clinical and pathological features of this rare tumor arising from basitemporal region in a 21-month child. Our case did not present with Kasabach-Merritt phenomenon. Histopathological examination confirmed the diagnosis of KHE. KHE should be considered in the differential diagnosis of intracranial extra-axial neoplasm in children, and histopathological examination plays an important role in distinguishing KHE from its morphologic mimics. It is essential to diagnose KHE due to its locally aggressive nature.

Aim: The aim of the study was to analyze the estrogen receptor (ER), progesterone receptor (PR), and human epidermal growth factor receptor-2 (HER2) status over 7 years in South Indian women with breast cancer. Further analysis of a subgroup was done to study clinically defined subtypes and the role of preanalytical factors in needle core biopsies (NCBs) and excised specimens. Materials and Methods: This was a retrospective study from January 2010 to December 2016. Patients diagnosed with invasive breast cancer and available immunohistochemistry (IHC) reports of ER, PR, and HER2 status were analyzed. The cases for the year 2016 were analyzed further to observe the impact of preanalytical factors on the IHC staining patterns and surrogate status. Results: A total of 5436 patients were included with a median age of 48 years. Among these, 65% were ≤ 55 years. The overall incidence of hormone receptor (HR)-positive patients was 48%; HER2 positive, 15%; and triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), 37%. The incidence of HR positive, HER2 positive, and TNBC were 45%, 16%, and 39% and 53%, 13%, and 34% in patients

Malignancies of the retroperitoneum are uncommon; they may either be primary or arise secondarily from contiguous organs. Primary retroperitoneal carcinomas are extremely rare. Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the renal pelvis is a rare upper urinary tract urothelial carcinoma arising in the setting of chronic nephrolithiasis. Due to locally advanced disease or metastases, these aggressive malignancies are often inoperable at presentation. We report a case of a 55-year-old man, a hypertensive and chronic smoker with a history of analgesic abuse, who underwent left nephrectomy for a non-functional kidney (chronic pyonephrosis with stag-horn calculus). Histopathological examination of the specimen was neglected and the patient presented 4 months later with advanced, inoperable retroperitoneal SCC which could only be palliated. This article highlights the prognosis associated with renal SCC and the importance of early detection in improving outcomes; periodic imaging with biopsy of suspicious mass lesions should be advocated in patients with renal calculous disease especially stag-horn calculi. Exclusion of malignancy prior to nephrectomy (when indicated) and HPE of the resected specimen is crucial in management. Radical nephrectomy may merit consideration in patients with non-functional kidneys secondary to long-standing nephrolithiasis when malignancy is suspected.

Extra-pulmonary tuberculosis is the presence of disease in an organ without obvious involvement of the lungs (World Health Organization, Tuberculosis Fact sheet, 2006). The present article focuses on the incidence of extra-pulmonary tuberculosis as an emerging and clinically significant disease to be reckoned with in the present era. It also highlights fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) as an inexpensive, less invasive procedure for early diagnosis of such tuberculosis and timely initiation of specific therapy. All cases of proved tuberculosis presenting to the M.V.J. Medical College and Research Hospital were recorded over a period of two years (2008–2010); and categorized as pulmonary and extra-pulmonary cases. A total of 96 cases of tuberculosis were observed; extra-pulmonary tuberculosis was seen in 64 cases. Of these 56 cases were from lymphnodes and 8 from extra-nodal sites which included tuberculous dactylitis (two cases), tuberculous mastitis (two cases), tuberculous synovial effusion (one case), pericardial effusion (one case), epididymo-orchitis (one case), and cold abscess (one case). Carcinosarcoma of the salivary gland is a rare and aggressive malignancy with a poor prognosis. These neoplasms are composed of malignant epithelial and mesenchymal elements. This report describes a new case of carcinosarcoma arising in the submandibular gland, which had a rhabdomyosarcoma component, without clinical or histological evidence of a preexisting pleomorphic adenoma. Till date, only two case reports have described the occurrence of carcinosarcoma with a rhabdomyosarcoma component in the salivary gland, to the best of our knowledge. Histological and immunohistochemical results are presented. The literature is reviewed, and the possible histogenesis and pathogenesis of carcinosarcoma (true malignant mixed tumor) of the salivary gland are briefly discussed.
