Background Anticoagulation in hospitalized COVID-19 patients has been associated with survival benefit; however, the optimal anticoagulant strategy has not yet been defined. The objective of this meta-analysis was to investigate the effect of intermediate-to-therapeutic versus prophylactic anticoagulation for thromboprophylaxis on the primary outcome of in-hospital mortality and other patient-centered secondary outcomes in COVID-19 patients. Methods MEDLINE, EMBASE, and Cochrane databases were searched from inception to August 10th 2021. Cohort studies and randomized clinical trials that assessed the efficacy and safety of intermediate-to-therapeutic versus prophylactic anticoagulation in hospitalized COVID-19 patients were included. Baseline characteristics and relevant data of each study were extracted in a pre-designed standardized data-collection form. The primary outcome was all-cause in-hospital mortality and the secondary outcomes were incidence of thrombotic events and incidence of any bleeding and major bleeding. Pooled analysis with random effects models yielded relative risk with 95 % CIs. Results This meta-analysis included 42 studies with 28,055 in-hospital COVID-19 patients totally. Our pooled analysis demonstrated that intermediate-to-therapeutic anticoagulation was not associated with lower in-hospital mortality (RR=1.12, 95 %CI 0.99-1.25, p=0.06, I2=77 %) and lower incidence of thrombotic events (RR=1.30, 95 %CI 0.79-2.15, p=0.30, I2=88 %), but increased the risk of any bleeding events (RR=2.16, 95 %CI 1.79-2.60, p2=31 %) and major bleeding events significantly (RR=2.10, 95 %CI 1.77-2.51, p2=11 %) versus prophylactic anticoagulation. Moreover, intermediate-to-therapeutic anticoagulation decreased the incidence of thrombotic events (RR=0.71, 95 %CI 0.56-0.89, p=0.003, I2=0 %) among critically ill COVID-19 patients admitted to intensive care units (ICU), with increased bleeding risk (RR=1.66, 95 %CI 1.37-2.00, p2=0 %) and unchanged in-hospital mortality (RR=0.94, 95 %CI 0.79-1.10, p=0.42, I2=30 %) in such patients. The Grading of Recommendation, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation certainty of evidence ranged from very low to moderate. Conclusions We recommend the use of prophylactic anticoagulation against intermediate-to-therapeutic anticoagulation among unselected hospitalized COVID-19 patients considering insignificant survival benefits but higher risk of bleeding in the escalated thromboprophylaxis strategy. For critically ill COVID-19 patients, the benefits of intermediate-to-therapeutic anticoagulation in reducing thrombotic events should be weighed cautiously because of its association with higher risk of bleeding. Folic acid, a water-soluble vitamin B nutrient, plays an important role not only in maintaining a healthy pregnancy but also in offspring brain development and function, however, it remains unclear whether maternal folic acid (FA) supplementation associated with the risk of different postnatal neurodevelopmental outcomes. Here, we performed a systematic review and meta-analysis on the impact of maternal FA supplementation on a wide range of postnatal neurodevelopmental outcomes which include intellectual development, risk of autistic traits, ADHD, behavior, language, and psychomotor problems, using studies extracted from the following databases, including MEDLINE, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, Scopus, EMBASE, and PsychInfo. Thirty-two cohort studies and seven case-control studies were included in this meta-analysis. In the present study, we found that prenatal FA supplementation had a positive impact on offspring's neurodevelopmental outcomes, including improved intellectual development and reduced risk of autism traits, ADHD, behavioral, and language problems. We also found that FA over-supplementation was not associated with an improvement in offspring's brain development, and may have a negative impact on offspring's neurodevelopmental outcomes. This study proved the first panoramic review on the relationship of FA supplementation with offspring's neurodevelopment. Background It is important to explore the association between different fertility treatments and the incidence of paediatric cancer, as this will provide crucial guidance for clinical decision-making. Previous studies have explored the relationship between fertility treatments and different types of cancer in offspring, but the results are controversial. Method Two authors searched PubMed, Embase, Web of Science and Cochrane databases independently to acquire qualified studies. Then, the same authors extracted data from these studies and analysed these data using RevMan 5.3. Main results Eleven case–control studies and 16 cohort studies were included in this review and meta-analysis. The relative risk of association between in vitro fertilisation (IVF) and paediatric cancer incidence was 1.01 (95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.80–1.28) in cohort studies and 1.09 (95% CI: 0.74–1.58) in case–control studies. The relative risk of association between intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) and paediatric cancer incidence was 0.97 (95% CI: 0.80–1.17) in cohort studies. The relative risk of association between fertility drugs and paediatric cancer incidence was 1.07 (95% CI: 0.68–1.69) in cohort studies and 1.12 (95% CI: 0.90–1.41) in case–control studies. The relative risk of association between frozen embryo transfer and paediatric cancer incidence was 1.37 (95% CI: 1.04–1.81) in natural pregnancy controls and 1.28 (95% CI: 0.96–1.69) in fresh embryo transfer controls. Conclusion There is no evidence that IVF, ICSI and fertility drugs are associated with an increase in paediatric cancer incidence in offspring; however, frozen embryo transfer is associated with an increase in paediatric cancer incidence in the offspring, but this finding needs further research and attention.

AIMS Antinuclear antibody (ANA) was found to be associated with recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL). This study was designed to explore the immunological predictive indicators of RPL in women with positive ANA. METHODS A retrospective case-control study in a university hospital from March 2020 to January 2021 was performed, including 56 cases of women with RPL and 56 controls matched for age, all of which were positive for ANA. Levels of cytokines, lymphocyte subsets, immune globulin and complement in peripheral blood among two groups were compared. Statistical analyses in this study were performed using SPSS 25.0. RESULTS The level of IL-1β was higher in RPL women compared with controls according to univariable analysis and multivariable regression logistic analysis (7.67 [5.86-11.35] vs 5.00 [5.00-5.00], P = .000). Ferroptosis, an iron-dependent non-apoptotic cell death, is a highly regulated tumor suppressing process. However, functions and mechanisms of RNA binding proteins in regulation of evasion of ferroptosis during lung cancer progression are still largely unknown. Here we reported that the RNA binding protein RBMS1 participated in lung cancer development through mediating ferroptosis evasion. Through an shRNA-mediated systematic screen, we discovered that RBMS1 was a key ferroptosis regulator. Clinically, RBMS1 was elevated in lung cancer and its high expression was associated with reduced patient survival. Conversely, depletion of RBMS1 inhibited lung cancer progression both in vivo and in vitro. Mechanistically, RBMS1 interacted with the translation initiation factor eIF3d directly to bridge the 3'- and 5'-UTRs of SLC7A11. RBMS1 ablation inhibited the translation of SLC7A11, reduced SLC7A11-mediated cystine uptake and promotes ferroptosis. In a drug screen that targeted RBMS1, we further uncovered that nortriptyline hydrochloride decreased the level of RBMS1, thereby promoting ferroptosis. Importantly, RBMS1 depletion or inhibition by nortriptyline hydrochloride sensitized radioresistant lung cancer cells to radiotherapy. Our findings established RBMS1 as a translational regulator of ferroptosis and a prognostic factor with therapeutic potentials and clinical values.

Problem Antiphospholipid antibodies (aPL) are a group of autoantibodies associated with a variety of pregnancy complications, but the impact of aPL on the outcomes of assisted fertility treatment (ART) is controversial. This systematic review and meta-analysis were designed to explore the association between aPL and ART outcomes and to explore in which stages does aPL play a role. Method of study PubMed and Cochrane database were systematically retrieved, and odds ratios (ORs) or risk ratios (RRs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated in a random-effect model or fixed-effect model according to the heterogenicity assessed by the Cochran Q and I2 statistic test. Of 246 records identified by the search, 10 case-control studies and 13 cohort studies that explored the association between aPL and in vitro fertilization (IVF) and/or intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) were analyzed. Results The results showed that aPL positive rate was higher in females who failed in IVF/ICSI than those who succeeded in IVF/ICSI (OR: 3.62, 95% CI: 1.95-6.74). This study also indicated that females positive for aPL have a higher miscarriage rate (RR: 1.68, 95% CI: 1.24-2.28) than those negative for aPL, but live birth rate, biochemical pregnancy rate and clinical pregnancy rate were similar between two groups (RR: 1.01, 95% CI: 0.91-1.12; RR: 1.18, 95% CI: 0.57-2.43 and RR: 0.95, 95% CI: 0.80-1.13). Conclusions There was higher aPL prevalence in females with adverse IVF/ICSI outcomes. It seems that aPL mainly affects the miscarriage rate, but have little effect on live birth rate, biochemical pregnancy rate and clinical pregnancy rate. Routine detection of aPL before IVF/ICSI treatment is meaningful.

Background: Increasing evidence demonstrates that repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) treatment of the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex is beneficial for improving cognitive function in patients with Alzheimer’s disease (AD); however, the underlying mechanism of its therapeutic effect remains unclear.Objectives/Hypothesis: The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of rTMS to the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex on functional connectivity along with treatment response in AD patients with different severity of cognitive impairment.Methods: We conducted a 2-week treatment course of 10-Hz rTMS over the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex in 23 patients with AD who were split into the mild or moderate cognitive impairment subgroup. Resting state electroencephalography and general cognition was assessed before and after rTMS. Power envelope connectivity was used to calculate functional connectivity at the source level. The functional connectivity of AD patients and 11 cognitively normal individuals was compared.Results: Power envelope connectivity was higher in the delta and theta bands but lower in the beta band in the moderate cognitive impairment group, compared to the cognitively normal controls, at baseline (p < 0.05). The mild cognitive impairment group had no significant abnormities. Montreal Cognitive Assessment scores improved after rTMS in the moderate and mild cognitive impairment groups. Power envelope connectivity in the beta band post-rTMS was increased in the moderate group (p < 0.05) but not in the mild group. No significant changes in the delta and theta band were found after rTMS in both the moderate and mild group.Conclusion: High-frequency rTMS to the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex modulates electroencephalographic functional connectivity while improving cognitive function in patients with AD. Increased beta connectivity may have an important mechanistic role in rTMS therapeutic effects.

Introduction The association between systemic sclerosis (SSc) and sexual dysfunction was controversial. Aim To explore the impacts of SSc on sexual function, the prevalence of sexual dysfunction in patients with SSc and associated risk factors. Methods A systematic review of all published studies was performed. Studies exploring the association between SSc and sexual function were retrieved from PubMed, Web of Science, and EBSCO. All retrieved papers were selected according to the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Main Outcome Measure The impacts of SSc on sexual function, the prevalence of sexual dysfunction in males and females with SSc and associated risk factors. Results A total 12 studies were included in this study. The prevalence of sexual dysfunction in SSc males and SSc females were 76.9–81.4% and 46.7–86.6%, respectively. But the direct impacts of SSc on sexual function were controversial. EULAR SSc activity score ≥3, the number of complications ≥2, and the presence of anticardiolipin antibody and anti U1 ribonucleoprotein antibody in males and resistive index (RI) and the systolic/diastolic (S/D) ratio of clitoral blood in females have potential to be SSc-specific risk factors for sexual dysfunction. Clinical Implications Clinicians need to pay more attention to the impacts of SSc on sexual function of patients especially in those with risk factors. Strengths & Limitations Systematically explored the prevalence of sexual dysfunction in SSc males and females, and the risk factors of sexual dysfunction for SSc were explored innovatively. However, there were some limitations in included studies prevented exploring the impacts of SSc on sexual function deeply. Conclusion Sexual dysfunction may be an important symptom of SSc, many risk factors may be associated with sexual dysfunction in males and females with SSc. Gao R, Qing P, Sun X, et al. Gas disaster is one of the most serious disasters in coal mine safety production. Therefore, it is of great significance to strengthen the coal mine gas disasters forecasting warning technology research for improving the ability of prevention and control gas disaster in coal mine and promoting the development of digital mine in our country. The biggest characteristics of using grey prediction model GM (1,1) is that the algorithm is quite simple, and also, when building the model, less data can be used. It is convenient for modelling and operation, but the effect of forecast of the grey prediction model for systems with volatility is not very ideal, and the prediction accuracy will reduce gradually along with the extrapolation of time. BP neural network has a good performance for prediction of nonlinear system, but when the network was trained, it often requires large amounts of data. This paper is based on the grey prediction model, using advantages of grey prediction that the model algorithm is simple and the procedure of model building needs less data, and the BP neural network that the performance of grey forecast model for nonlinear system prediction is good. We revise the grey prediction model through BP neural network and finally we build an improved gas concentration prediction model based on grey theory and BP neural network, and carry out a specific computer simulation. Results show that the model effectively improved the precision of gas prediction.

This paper presents a method for face affine registration which only needs a single template, such as using a person's front face to match his side face. First, in order to be robust to outliers caused by facial affine deformations, an improved color feature is introduced to balance the color similarity and shape mismatch rate between the template face image and target face image, and then the face rough search algorithm is proposed based on the color feature. Next, the affine transformation obtained by face rough search algorithm is used as an initial constraint to establish the face shape fine registration algorithm based on the previous affine constraints. Our algorithm successfully solves the problem that face shape is difficult to register in the presence of rotation, scale transformation and noise interference. Experimental results demonstrate that the robustness and accuracy of our algorithm are greatly improved compared with the conventional face affine registration algorithms.

Herein, an Al:InSe thin film is designed and synthesized by the direct current-radio frequency sputtering method. The obtained Al:InSe films possess smooth surface morphology with Al:InSe particles dispersion on sapphire substrates. Via aluminum (Al) doping, two-photon absorption and the doping energy level together induced free-carrier absorption, established on the conduction band. Al:InSe thin film displays a broad-band nonlinear absorptive band arising from 532 nm to 1064 nm, and exhibits effective third-order (βeff) and fifth-order nonlinear absorption coefficients (γeff) and relaxation time (τ) under femtosecond pulsed laser. This study provides a potential method for preparing Al:InSe thin film to investigate their nonlinear optical properties.
