Background To investigate the efficacy and safety of interval debulking surgery (IDS) combined with dense hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC) with cisplatin in Chinese patients with FIGO stage III serous epithelial ovarian cancer (EOC). Methods This retrospective single-center study reviewed the demographic and clinical data of 197 patients with primary FIGO stage III serous EOC who were treated with IDS with (n = 121) or without (n = 76, control group) dense HIPEC between January 2012 and April 2017. The co-primary endpoints were progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS), and the secondary endpoint was the occurrence of adverse events. Results The median PFS was 24 months in the IDS plus dense HIPEC group, whereas it was 19 months in the IDS alone group (hazard ratio [HR] 0.46, 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.33–0.65, p = 0.000). The median OS in patients treated with IDS plus dense HIPEC (51 months) was significantly longer than that in patients treated with IDS alone (40 months, HR 0.52, 95% CI: 0.35–0.78, p = 0.001). The demographic and preoperative clinical characteristics of these two groups were comparable (p > 0.05). In the IDS alone group, no adverse events were recorded in 42 (55.3%) of the 76 patients, and 14 (18.4%) patients were reported to have grade III/IV adverse events. In the IDS plus dense HIPEC group, no adverse events were recorded in 55 (45.5%) of the 121 patients, and 23 (19.0%) patients were reported to have grade III/IV adverse events. No postoperative deaths occurred within 30 days in either group and neither did severe fatal complications in the IDS plus dense HIPEC group. Conclusions IDS plus dense HIPEC with cisplatin in Chinese patients with FIGO stage III serous EOC is associated with improved survival and is reasonably well tolerated by patients.

Many recent studies have found that exosomal microRNAs (miRNAs) are related to the occurrence of some diseases.Patients and Methods: Small RNA sequencing was used to investigate differential exosomal miRNAs with the same expression trend between groups after chemotherapy: MildA (before chemotherapy in patients with mild myelosuppression) and MildB (after chemotherapy in patients with mild myelosuppression); SevereA (before chemotherapy in patients with severe myelosuppression) and SevereB (after chemotherapy in patients with severe myelosuppression). A Venn diagram was generated to screen exosomal miRNAs related to chemotherapy. Small RNA sequencing was also used to investigate differentially expressed exosomal miRNAs among these groups, and exosomal miRNAs related to myelosuppression after chemotherapy was explored using a Venn diagram. RT-qPCR was applied to further verify the sequencing results. We performed target gene prediction and functional analysis for candidate exosomal miRNAs.Results: Compared with that in the MildA or SevereA group, an increase in exosomal miR-122-5p was found in the MildB or SevereB group, and the expression level was lower in the SevereB group than in the MildB group. However, we found no notable difference in its expression level between the MildA and SevereA groups. Similar results were not obtained for the remaining miRNAs. RT-qPCR confirmed the screening results. Further analyses indicated that exosomal miR-122-5p targets CDK4 to inhibit the cell cycle.Conclusion: The expression level of exosomal miR-122-5p in the serum of patients with colorectal cancer correlates with the severity of myelosuppression caused by chemotherapy, and miR-122-5p targets CDK4 to inhibit cell cycle progression.Keywords: colorectal cancer, chemotherapy, myelosuppression, miR-122-5p

Rational design and selection of suitable donor and acceptor components for optimal thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) exciplex-type emitters or hosts is presently challenging. Here, we constructed successfully a blue-emitting bulk exciplex system with efficient TADF emission and high triplet energy (ET) based on a donor of 4,4′,4′′-tris [3-methylphenyl(phenyl)amino]triphenylamine and an acceptor of 1,3,5-tri (m-pyrid-3-yl-phenyl)benzene. Systematic experimental and theoretical studies show that the matched frontier orbital energy levels, high ET, facile intersystem crossing, high oscillator strength of the exciplex, and efficient energy transfer channels should be the main considerations during the design of high-performance exciplex-type TADF emitters and bipolar host materials. Efficient preparation of single-layer two-dimensional (2D) transition metal dichalcogenides, especially molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), offers readily available 2D surface in nanoscale to template various materials to form nanocomposites with van der Waals heterostructures (vdWHs), opening up a new dimension for the design of functional electronic and optoelectronic materials and devices. Here, we report the tunable memory properties of the facilely prepared [6,6]-phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PCBM)–MoS2 nanocomposites in a conventional diode device structure, where the vdWHs dominate the electric characteristics of the devices for various memory behaviors depending on different surface deposition ratios of PCBM on MoS2 nanosheets. As a strategic emerging industry, solar energy industry has been wished to ease the energy crisis and stimulate economic growth. In order to judge the development of the industry objectively, this paper constructs the index system of China’s solar energy industrial development from three dimensions of micro enterprise, medium industry and macroeconomic. This paper simultaneously takes 27 specific indicators, 54 listed companies and 10206 data from 2010 to 2016 as an example to calculate the industrial development index. The result reveals that with the implementation of the support policies playing a positive role in the development of China’s solar energy industry, the solar industry has steadily improved. Solar energy industry in our country is under the support of national support policies and its technological innovation capability is relatively active. However, the moderate investment and financing activities and inadequate enterprise operational capacity, to some extent, alleviate the development of the solar energy industry. The above shows that the solar energy industrial development index and its evaluation methods can help people to accurately grasp the development trend of the solar energy industry and accurately identify the development of advantages and disadvantages.

Soxhlet extraction (SE), ultrasonic-assisted extraction (UAE), and microwave-assisted extraction (MAE) were carried out on Daxing coal with carbon tetrachloride. The extracted components were analyzed by GC-MS while the residues of the coal after extractions were analyzed by FT-IR spectroscopy. The obtained IR spectra indicated that the functional groups were barely changed in strength for the coal before and after extractions concluding that the macromolecular structures of coal were not destroyed in the extraction processes. XRD diagrams showed the peak around &theta, = 47 was totally disappeared by all the three extractions, indicating that the graphite-like structural substances in the coal were totally destroyed in the extraction processes. GC/MS analysis showed that: (1) The SE method extracted the least number of substances from the coal, on the other hand, the extracted compounds are largely chlorinated which can be explained by the free radical mechanism. (2) MAE extracted 75 organic compounds of which 53 are oxygen-containing substances. A small portion of non-alkanes (1.19%) was found, which is in contrast to the other two extraction methods. Moreover, a few biomarker compounds were also identified including hexaoxane, 2-methylcholest-3-ene, 6,9,12-tripropylheptadecane, and 17&alpha, 21&beta, 28,30-bisnorhopane. (3) The three extraction methods gave totally different extraction patterns for the same coal, highlighting that the extraction method can dominate the outcome of the extracted products. The mechanisms behind these extraction processes are discussed. This study provides a base for the future choice of the extraction methods in terms of outcomes of the extraction products.
