For the manufacture of parts of complex shapes, it becomes necessary to move the cutting tool along the line at a certain angle. For this, machines equipped with mechanisms of parallel structure are used. Only a study of the movable capabilities of these mechanisms makes it possible to introduce them into production. The studies focus on the transverse movement of the center of the moving platform of the parallel structure mechanism for a hexapod machine, as a material point moving along a line depending on the angle of contact of the tool and the perpendicular to the plane of the work surface (axis of symmetry of the mechanism). To determine the possible positions of the center of the moving platform, we consider a generalized scheme of the parallel structure mechanism. Given the restrictions on movement, the area of possible positions is divided into zones: Zrp - without a cutting tool; Zri - the zone of positions of the top of the instrument. The part that is being processed is installed on the technological device, which is placed on the basis of a parallel structure mechanism. Parameters of a machine with a parallel structure mechanism: a, b - distance between the supports of the stationary carrier system and the executive body, respectively; Lmax is the maximum length of the kinematic links; lmin is the minimum length of the kinematic links; li is the current length of the kinematic links; l is the magnitude of the transverse movement; φ is the angle of inclination of the executive body; hi is the current position of the executive body of the mechanism of the parallel structure in height. The assessment of motor capabilities is determined by the displacement index, which is the ratio of the actual displacement value l to the theoretically possible one (taken equal to the maximum rod length Lmax). From the above dependencies it is seen that the influence of the motor capabilities of the rods on the relative displacement provides an increase in the displacement index in the indicator section from 0.45 to 0.65, then the section that is affected by the slope of the displacement line, with a decrease in which the displacement in the area of0.8 up to 1 movement decreases again, this is due to the complex geometry of the service area ofthe working space of the machine with a parallel structure mechanism. On the effect of the ratio of the sizes of the movable to the fixed platform on the relative displacement, we have that with an increase in the indicator, the initial indicator of the relative displacement also increases, with a value of the exponent n starting from 0.6 its value decreases in all cases. The influence of the ratio of the maximum displacement of the rods to the size of the fixed platform, on the relative displacement has the opposite of the previous character. With an increase in the indicator m, the relative displacement indicator increases, with a further increase in the indicator m, it can be seen that significantly decreases the displacement indicator and with a value less than 0.6.

The paper presents a new approach to recognize small parts from high-resolution 4K images grabbed by the embedded camera with trained convolutional network models. The main principle is a combination of standard machine vision techniques (OpenCV library) to identify blobs in the high-resolution image and parse to a suitable set of regions of interest, which are later recognized by trained convolutional neural network model (Tensorflow framework). The convolutional neural network model with single-shot detection was selected to identify the position of the object. 3D virtual models of parts with autogenerated orientations are used for simpler input data generation. Two embedded devices were selected for use in the experimental system. The first is NVidia Xavier dev board with 4K camera and integrated APU and the second is Raspberry PI 4 with external APU Intel Neural Compute Stick 2. The last part of the paper shows the implementation of the presented principle to the virtual device (HTC Vive Pro) for assisted assembly tasks to train and check workers during the teaching process.

The modern engineering educational environment ensures an extensive use of augmented reality for the successful and deep memorization of graphic material. There are many platforms for implementing augmented reality technology, the most popular of which were analyzed. As a result, the research work is devoted to the visualization of second-order surfaces and engineering objects. The article describes the scenario of augmented reality both with QR codes and authors’ markers. Moreover, the components of the markers and their significance in reproducing the image were described in detail. The proposed methodology includes a step-by-step approach for using the applications based on augmented reality for downloading through the public domain. As a result, the examples of tasks that can be performed using AR were realized. Finally, many markers are proposed in the article, which can be used in the engineering field’s educational process, especially with the mathematical peculiarities.

The article deals with the recent developments in the fuel industry, considering the permanent increasing requirements for fuel quality and environmental safety. The work aims to study various technological modes at the rectification unit to produce fuel bioethanol from lignocellulosic biomass. The main goals are to solve applied scientific problems of rational designing and technological optimization to obtain boundaries of energy consumption to ensure the quality of bioethanol sufficient for a consumer. Recent approaches for numerical simulation of chemical technological processes were applied to study the operating processes and optimize technological parameters. The plant model was designed from various modules that allow us to simulate technological processes efficiently and accurately for all the primary units of the rectification equipment. The methodology based on the activity coefficient UNIFAC model of phase equilibrium was applied. As a result, a mixture with 74% of bioethanol 9% of impurities was obtained in the brew column. In the epuration column, a mixture of 46% bioethanol and 2.2% of impurities was obtained in bottoms. Finally, in the alcohol column, the mass fraction of distillate of 96.9% and impurities of 2.7% were reached. The numerical simulation results can be applied in recent fuel technologies and designing the corresponding biofuel plants.

The article presents the issue of providing comfortable conditions for passengers in coaches. At the same time, the main goal is to increase the efficiency of thermal energy use with the combined heating supply system. The research considers the analysis of thermal modes using the developed, comprehensive approach. This approach is based on both the numerical simulation and the regression analysis. The use of CFD analysis allowed analyzing the fields of temperature and air velocity in a coach. The simulation established that the use of the combined heating supply system causes turbulent airflow. A multifactor experiment was conducted to evaluate the impact of the radiator temperature on the internal one at different external temperatures. For the radiator temperature in a range of 20 ÷ 70 °C and the external temperature of –8 ÷ 24 °C, coefficients of the developed regression model were established. The obtained values allow estimating the thermal condition of the coach. Besides, the analytical dependence for the control of the radiator temperature, depending on the external temperature was obtained. The corresponding regulating curves and the transfer function were built. Overall, practical recommendations for compliance with sanitary and hygienic standards and providing comfortable conditions for coaches were formulated.

An analytical model of coaxial traveling-wave-tube-like waveguides with plasma filling has been justified and utilized to analyze the eigenmodes. Very often, introducing plasma into vacuum electronic devices leads to essential advantages as compared with evacuated tubes. The cylindrical structure under the present consideration consists of a central dielectric rod, placed inside a plasma coaxial layer with a metallic helix sheath on its outer interface, and a metal screen separated from the plasma by another dielectric layer. The dispersion properties of electromagnetic waves propagating across the external axial static magnetic field in such traveling-wave-tube-like waveguides are studied and summarized. The presence of a dense plasma coaxial layer makes the media nontransparent for waves in the electron cyclotron frequency range. However, surface type electromagnetic waves can propagate in this case. These waves are called azimuthal surface waves (ASWs). The helix sheath causes coupling of ordinarily and extraordinarily polarized ASWs. The zeroth radial ASW modes have been found to be most dangerous for parasitic wave excitation in dense plasma-loaded, coaxial traveling-wave-tube-like waveguides.

The research paper is aimed at improving the scientific and methodological approach for ensuring the reliability of technological equipment of energy-efficient modular separation devices by means of identifying the parameters of the refined mathematical models describing the main and secondary hydromechanical processes. Based on the critical review of the recent achievements in the field of separation and purification technologies, it is shown that combining vibrational-inertial separation allows one to increase both the separation efficiency and a range of the implementation of the corresponding technological equipment. Due to the object of study which is the separation processes of multicomponent heterogeneous systems, the assumption is that the separation efficiency can be increased by the proper organization of flow modes. As a result, the refined mathematical model of the gas-liquid flow is proposed. This model allows one to evaluate the total response of the dispersed phase on the vibrating wall and to determine the trajectories of dropping particles. Finally, the methodology for determining the separation time and the effective length of gutters for capturing dispersed liquid is presented.

This chapter deals with implementation of digital twin for experimental quality control system to remote monitoring, simulation, and optimization of real process. The main area of study is problem of connection and transformation of digital data from quality control process and product to digital twins and synchronization with Cloud Platform. Actual status of experimental quality control system is synchronized with digital twin for online interaction. Digitalized data must be stored in long-term horizon, which is performed by Cloud Platform, and it provides Big Data processing techniques. Digital twin of quality control system is transferred from 3D model to simulation software Tecnomatix. Interconnection between cloud control system and simulated Tecnomatix model (digital twin) is realized by OPC server. The technologies selected for data collection from experimental system are vision systems, RFID, and MEMS devices.

One of the promising methods for efficiency increase of heterogeneous systems separation is the gas-dynamic separation method. Devices that implement this method act like the automatic control systems that have as a controlled action (elastic force) and the regulating object (hydraulic resistance). It should be noted that calculations of these devices contain a number of difficulties with the solution of the aerohydroelasticity problem. To overcome the above difficulties, the process of the calculation methodology for this separation devices was divided into three stages. The first stage considers accounting only a gas phase, the second stage – both liquid and gas phase, and the third stage – the mechanical vibrations impact on the separation efficiency. This paper describes the development of the test stand for experimental studies of the dynamic separation devices, which is necessary at each stage. The designed test stand allows one to determine the deflections and stresses of deformable elements, amplitudes and frequencies of oscillations, as well as the gauge pressure and separation efficiency by using a single board computer Arduino MEGA 2560 uploaded software for collecting data from the sensors. The ADC Delta-Sigma Data Acquisition Shield for Arduino is used to achieve better accuracy through over-sampling, digital filtering, noise shaping, decimation, and synchronization of measurements from all connected sensors.

The article is devoted to the study of fluid lift dynamics due to the capillary effect, as well as the development of the reliable mathematical model of capillary rising process based on parameter identification considering the experimental results data. The results of the research are applicable in evaporative cooling technologies, inertial-filtering separation, and filtration processes. Additionally, they can be applied in the fields of air conditioning, heat recovery, and electricity generation cycles. The practical significance of the obtained data is in relatively high performance (absorbency, thermal resistance, and liquid transportation capacity) of studied material samples for use in heat and mass transfer equipment. The experimental research consists of four stages for five samples of paper-like porous nanomaterial. The achieved results are used to evaluate the height of the liquid rising along capillary-porous material in time of the process. According to the results of analytical and experimental studies, the mathematical model was developed for the aim of estimating the parameters of the liquid’s movement. Particularly, the proposed approaches based on both quasi- and nonlinear, single- and multiparameter regression analyses, the rising-rate parameter and the maximum height of the liquid’s rise along the capillary plate were identified. Carrying out the validation of the proposed mathematical models with experimental results allows concluding that the two-parameter estimation of the operating parameters with the relatively high value of the r-Pearson correlation coefficient allows clarifying the proposed reliable mathematical model of liquid’s lifting process in capillary-porous media with enough accuracy.

According to modern technological requirements, the problem of increasing the efficiency of drilling-milling-boring machine tools is the first priority in multiproduct manufacturing. In this regard, the use of fixtures is an obvious stage in ensuring the quality and accuracy of engineering products. In this paper, the main objectives are related to the choice of locating charts in fixture design. Based on the developed algorithm, a reasonable choice of locating elements for parts is implemented using the 3-2-1 locating chart. Additionally, the decision-making sequence is given in the process of choosing the functional elements of the fixture using the database. The related algorithm considers the design and technological features of the workpiece. The practical significance of the research is in the application of CAFD for the proper choice of fixture locating elements. As a result, the proposed approach allows increasing the efficiency of designing technological equipment and reducing the complexity of technological preparation of the manufacturing process.

The removal of solids is the most important step when treating rainwater. The article evaluates two designs of sedimentation tanks that can be used for the continuous separation of fine particles from water: OS—standard sedimentation tanks, and OW—swirl sedimentation tanks. The tanks were studied by conducting computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling and particle image velocimetry (PIV) experiments. The settling process in sedimentation tank was carried out at varying operating flow rates. A tank with a modified structure was used for the tests, where water was supplied by a nozzle placed at an angle. This solution made it possible to obtain a rotational flow that transported the suspended particles towards its wall, where downward axial velocity resulted in the settling of particles. Based on the research, it was observed that the flow patterns showed inward flow at the bottom of the tank and an upward flow and the lifting of the settled particles near the hatch at the bottom. The presented experimental measurements provided detailed insight into flow patterns, and valuable calibration and verification data for further CFD modeling. Traditional PIV techniques are useful in the case of standard design, whereas CFD is invaluable for supporting this work and for investigating the design of novel sedimentation tanks.

The article deals with the possibility of efficient control of small and medium-scale biomass-fired boilers by implementing low-cost sensors to sense the trend of carbon monoxide emissions into control of the biomass combustion process. Based on the theoretical analysis, a principle block diagram of the process control system was designed for the possibility of providing near-optimal control of the biomass combustion regardless of its quality parameters. A cost-effective hardware solution to obtain the dependence of CO emissions on O2 concentration in flue gas during combustion and new control algorithms was implemented into the process control and monitoring system of the biomass-fired boilers to test them in the real operation. A description of the designed control system, a data analysis of the monitored values and their impact on combustion process, and some results of the implemented control of the real biomass combustion process are presented in the article.

Стаття присвячена розробленню уточнених математичних моделей динаміки роторних систем енергоємних турбомашин, що мають шліцьове з’єднання, та числових методів дослідження їх вільних і вимушених коливань. Запропоновані моделі враховують залежності критичних частот валопровода від кутової жорсткості шліцьового з’єднання, а також реалізують процедуру його віртуального балансування. У результаті комплексного застосування такого підходу запропоновано методи розрахунку вібраційних характеристик турбомашин з урахуванням можливої зміни кутової жорсткості шліцьового з’єднання. Крім цього, було вдосконалено методику оцінювання системи початкових дисбалансів за даними зміщень осі ротора у площинах колекції та розрахункових площинах. Запропоновані підходи, засновані на комплексному застосуванні програмного забезпечення на основі методу скінченних елементів та обчислювальних інтелектуальних систем, дозволяють проводити модальний і гармонічний аналіз та реалізовувати віртуальне балансування зі значним зменшенням підготовчого і машинного часу без втрати відносної точності. Крім того, розроблені математичні моделі вільних і вимушених коливань роторних систем були реалізовані у вигляді програмних кодів робочих файлів "Critical Frequencies of the Rotor" та "Forced Oscillations of the Rotor" системи комп’ютерної алгебри MathCAD, що дозволяє удосконалити процедуру динамічного балансування для оцінкювання системи початкових дисбалансів. Висока точність запропонованого підходу підтверджується перевіркою динамічних відхилень осі ротора у результаті дії системи залишкових дисбалансів відповідно до міжнародних стандартів вібраційної надійності. This article is devoted to the development of refined numerical mathematical models of rotor dynamics of high-performance turbomachines having a spline connection. These models consider the dependence of the critical frequencies of the shaft on the angular stiffness of the spline connection, as well as the procedure of virtual balancing. As a result of the complex application of this approach, the methods of calculation of vibration characteristics taking into ac-count variable values of angular rigidity of splined connection are offered. In addition, the method of evaluating the system of initial imbalances with the corresponding displacements of the rotor axis in the correction and calculation sections has also been improved. The proposed approaches, based on the integrated application of CAE software and computational intelligent systems, allow for modal and harmonic analysis and implement virtual balancing with a significant reduction in preparation and machine time without loss of relative accuracy. In addition, the developed mathematical model of free and forced vibrations of rotor systems have been implemented in the program code operational files "Critical Frequencies of the Rotor" and "Forced Oscillations of the Rotor" of the computer algebra system MathCAD that allows improving the dynamic balancing procedure for evaluating primary imbalances. The high accuracy of the proposed approach is confirmed by checking the dynamic deviations of the rotor axis by the system of residual imbalances in accordance with the standards of vibration stability.

This paper considers modular dynamic separation devices as automatic control systems, which have hydraulic resistance as a regulation object and elastic forces as a control impact. The way for extension of the range of their efficient operation is proposed using vibration-inertia separation process. The related mathematical model of the abovementioned separation process is realized in three stages. This paper deals with numerical simulation of the aeroelastic interaction between gas flow and deformable elements in modular separation devices using the ANSYS Workbench software package. It should be noted that the modules Transient Structural and Fluent are used by system coupling combination. Two-way FSI method is chosen for simulation of aeroelasticity problem. Boundary conditions of symmetry are used for reducing of resource consumption of the problem solution. Methods of the dynamic meshes deforming are considered for additional preventing from negative volumes occurrence, as well as other significant settings for this type of problem are described. The oscillation frequencies of the deformable elements are determined according to the results of a numerical experiment for gas flow inlet velocity in the range from 3 to 6 m/s. The highest oscillation frequency 153 Hz is determined and observed for the inlet flow velocity equal to 4 m/s.

This The article deals with the modeling of separation processes in a multifunctional oil-gas separator of “HEATER-TREATER” type, which allow effectively separating a gas-liquid hydrocarbon mixture into separate components by the combination of different methods of separation (processes of heating, separation, and dehydration). The engineering technique for design calculation of sections of the device is developed considering the main factors influencing the separation process and determines the optimal hydrodynamic and structural parameters. The method of testing the hypothesis of increasing the parameters of linear motion for the mixture in the apparatus more than 2.0–2.5 times is proposed by using CFD model of the porous medium. This approach is aimed at reducing finite volume grid, which contains a significant number of elements. According to this technique, it is necessary to determine the related constant (which contains in viscous coefficient of resistance) separately for each type of plate according to the results of the numerical experiment. For the less laborious and consumptive determination of the constants, the proposed approach should be based on the results a numerical experiment.

Computer-aided fixture design system is one of the elements of computer integrated manufacturing. It allows to implement the life cycle of fixtures from design stage to its manufacturing, using the geometric modeling and engineering analysis, process planning and automation of the manufacturing. With the aim to increase the productivity and quality of the production process, the CAFD system was developed. It consists of several main modules and they directly execute all the operating procedures. One of such module is aimed at organizing of the user’s work with the information system for fixture design process. This model determines the list of the stages and their order, establishes the informational and other relationships between them. All information for fixture design were grouped to 15 categories and include information about the fixture elements, workpiece, production conditions, and other auxiliary information. The interface of the system is made according to the MDI-application technology for ensuring the access to the auxiliary information throughout the operating process. The physical database model is realized by the open source relational database management system MySQL.

One of the most monotonous activities in using convolutional neural networks for image recognition is preparation of the learning data. It involves creating samples (2D images of object) at different angles of view, different backgrounds/materials and partial overlay of the object. Input data must include a relatively large number of frames, typically about 100 and more images per object to make the learning precision useful. In the paper there is proposed a new approach to creating these data fully automated based on a virtual 3D model of the standardized parts. Automation principle is generating 2D images from the imported 3D construction model, including the following variable parameters: the angle of rotation, background and the material of the component. We used for verification pretrained DNN model Faster RCNN Inception v2 with single shot detection (SSD). The learned convolutional network was next tested by real samples to verify a new approach of learning by virtual models and recognition of real objects (parts).

In this article, the new configuration of fixture was proposed for ensuring the sufficient tool accessibility, which allows carrying out multiaxis machining of levers in one setup. The research based on numerical simulation was confirmed that the proposed fixture corresponds to all the accuracy parameters. Workpieces from steel, cast iron and aluminium alloy were investigated within the simulation. The values of displacements and stresses occurring during machining are less for proposed fixture in comparison with the existing fixtures that was confirmed by the deflected mode analysis. The modal analysis proved that the proposed fixture has much higher value of eigenfrequency than the other fixtures. To optimize the machining, the dependences for displacements and stresses on the cutting depth were determined. Oscillations of the system “fixture–workpiece” during machining were investigated for various manufacturing steps of levers machining of the fixtures from different fixture systems. The results of harmonic analysis showed that the dynamic stiffness of the proposed fixture was higher than that for the dedicated and modular fixtures. The oscillation amplitudes in the places of machined surfaces in the proposed fixture do not exceed the tolerance requirements for lever manufacturing.

The article is aimed at developing the scientific and methodological approach of using artificial neural networks (ANN) for solving applied problems in the field of mechanical engineering. This approach is based on the comprehensive implementation of ANN with the modern methods of numerical analysis (e.g., the finite element method) and analytical methods of the research with the use of mathematical modeling of the dynamic state for mechanical systems. Conceptual schemes for the implementation of the abovementioned approach are proposed for solving a number of interdisciplinary problems, such as investigation of the dynamics for rotary machines and hydroaeroelastic interaction of gas-liquid mixtures with deformable structural elements, as well as the dynamic analysis of fixtures. The main advantages of the proposed approach in comparison with the traditional regression analysis are the ability to learn and improve the ANN architecture, and to solve nonlinear problems of the parameters’ identification for mathematical models by using data of the results of physical experiments and numerical simulations. This approach allows refining parameters of the linear and nonlinear mathematical models describing the complicated mechanical and hydro-mechanical interactions under the impossibility of determination of an absolutely precise solution of the equations describing the process, as well as the incompleteness of the initial data.

Rootkits detecting in the Windows operating system is an important part of information security monitoring and audit system. Methods of hided process detection were analyzed. The software is developed which implements the four methods of hidden process detection in a user mode (PID based method, the descriptor based method, system call based method, opened windows based method) to use in the monitoring and audit systems.

In this paper the methods of static and dynamic analysis of the closing rotor balancing device of the multistage centrifugal pump are represented. On an example of the feed pump PE 600-300 static and dynamic characteristics are determined. Defined the resonance frequencies and investigated stability of the system “pump rotor – automatic balancing device – pressure difference regulator”. The dependence for the pressure difference and conditions to ensure reliable operation of the locking rotor balancing device are determined.

The paper is devoted to the theory of electromagnetic surface waves propagating along the azimuthal direction in cylindrical metal waveguides, which are filled with current-carrying plasmas. The problem is solved by the method of successive approximation. Adequacy of this method application is proved here. To study the coupling of ordinary (O-) and extraordinary (X-) azimuthal modes, the linear theory of the eigenazimuthal X- and O-modes is applied as zero approximation. Plasma particles are described in the framework of magneto-hydrodynamics, electromagnetic fields of the coupled azimuthal modes are determined from Maxwell equations. Spatial distribution of electromagnetic field of these coupled modes and their damping caused for different reasons are studied. Possibility to observe experimentally the phenomena, which accompany propagation of these coupled modes, is estimated numerically. Branches of their possible utilization are discussed as well.

A theoretical study is made of the resonant effect of the shape of the cross section of the plasma column on the propagation of a packet of extraordinary electromagnetic waves with a zero axial wavenumber in a circular-cross-section cylindrical metal waveguide in an axial magnetic field. The waveguide is assumed to be partially filled with a plasma. The effect of the noncircular shape of the plasma cross section on the dispersion properties of surface eigenmodes propagating strictly transverse to the external magnetic field is investigated by the method of successive approximations for the case in which the angular period of the wave perturbations is twice the ripple period of the interface between the plasma and the dielectric. In this resonant case, the fields and eigenfrequencies of the eigenmodes are determined to second order in the small parameter describing the rippling of the plasma-dielectric interface.

A theoretical study is made of the propagation of a packet of surface electromagnetic waves with a zero axial wavenumber in a circular-cross-section cylindrical metal waveguide partially filled with plasma in an axial magnetic field. The cross section of the plasma column is assumed to be noncircular. The effect of the noncircular shape of the plasma cross section on the dispersion properties of azimuthal surface modes is investigated by the method of successive approximations. The fields of the waves and their eigenfrequencies are determined to second order in a small parameter.

This research paper is aimed to investigating rotor dynamics of multistage centrifugal machines with ball bearings by using the computer programs "Critical frequencies of the rotor" and "Forced oscillations of the rotor," which are implemented the mathematical model based on the use of beam finite elements. Free and forces oscillations of the rotor for the multistage centrifugal oil pump NPS 200-700 are observed by taking into account the analytical dependence of bearing stiffness on rotor speed, which is previously defined on the basis of results' approximation for the numerical simulation in ANSYS by applying 3D finite elements. The calculations found that characteristic and constrained oscillations of rotor and corresponded to them forms of vibrations, as well as the form of constrained oscillation on the actual frequency for acceptable residual unbalance are determined.

Results of studying an electrodynamical model of the plasma producer based on azimuthal surface waves (ASW) propagation both in a cylindrical metal waveguide filled by magnetoactive plasma and along metal cylindrical antenna placed into the plasma are presented. Parameters of these gas discharges are studied in the two frequency ranges where propagation of the ASW is possible and also are compared. The value of plasma density that can be achieved by this producer is calculated. The spatial distribution of the wave electromagnetic fields, dependencies of their penetration depth into plasma and angular discharge length on the discharge parameters are studied analytically and numerically. Advantages of the operation in the both frequency ranges are indicated. Possibility of resonant absorption of the ASW energy due to their conversion into the bulk upper hybrid mode is examined as well.

The effects of dispersion of slow electromagnetic surface waves propagating across an external magnetic field in planar metallic waveguides with dielectric coating and non-uniform plasma filling on the harmonics of the electron cyclotron frequency are studied. The theoretical investigation of the surface modes is carried out using a kinetic description for the plasma particles and a mirror-reflection model for the interaction between particles and plasma boundary. The effect of the transverse plasma density inhomogeneity on the electron surface cyclotron-wave spectrum is investigated.

The dispersion properties of the slow electromagnetic surface waves propagating across external magnetic field in planar metallic waveguides with plasma and dielectric filling on the harmonics of the electron cyclotron frequency are studied in this paper. The external steady magnetic field is supposed to be directed perpendicularly to the waveguide wall. Dielectric layer separates semi-bounded plasma from the metallic wall. The analytical research is carried out using the kinetic description for plasma particles, the mirror reflection model for the interaction between particles and plasma boundary. Skin depth of the surface cyclotron waves (SCW) is much greater than electron Larmor radius. Effect of the following parameters of the waveguide structures: dielectric constant and thickness of the dielectric layer, plasma density value and number of the cyclotron harmonics, on the SCW dispersion is examined both analytically and numerically.

The initial stage of interaction between a gyrating beam of electrons, which move along Larmor orbits in a narrow gap between a cylindrical plasma layer and an internal screen of a metal coaxial waveguide and electromagnetic eigen waves, is studied theoretically. These waves are extraordinary polarized ones; they propagate along the azimuthal angle across an axial external steady magnetic field in the electron cyclotron frequency range. The numerical analysis shows that the excitation process is stable enough in respect to changing plasma waveguide parameters. The wider the plasma layer, the broader the range of plasma waveguide parameters within which effective wave excitation takes place. The main influence on the excitation of these modes is performed by the applied axial magnetic field, namely: its increase leads to an increase of growth rate and a broadening of the range of the waveguide parameters within which wave excitation is effective.
