The digital trade ecosystem's development relies on the growth of cross-border e-commerce platforms. To ensure the continued growth of China's digital trade, it is crucial to consider the service capabilities of digital platforms and the digital transformation capabilities of cross-border e-commerce firms. This study explores the impact of these factors on the performance of cross-border e-commerce companies, with digital transformation capability acting as a mediator. Empirical research reveals that the service capability of digital platforms is composed of supply chain communication and cost control abilities, which partially mediate the relationship between digital platform serviceability and cross-border e-commerce enterprise performance. Moreover, both the service capabilities of digital platforms and the digital transformation capabilities of cross-border e-commerce companies have a positive and significant impact on enterprise performance. Cross-border e-commerce has gradually emerged with the popularity of the Internet in the world. It represents a new business model of e-commerce. The public is still the same as the daily shopping model on e-commerce platforms. However, cross-border e-commerce can be divided into two parts at home and abroad. With the continuous emergence of new social models such as the Metaverse, the data generated by online social networking is becoming larger and larger, and data science has developed accordingly, and the effective use of data has become the key to the rapid development of various industries. Big data technology is the key to data science. A data processing and analysis technology generated in the development process, its use in the development of cross-border e-commerce enterprises will help enterprises to create products that are more in line with the actual requirements of the masses, increase the profits of enterprise operations, and allow enterprises to complete the era of data science smooth transition. This paper first describes the big data technology and related theories of cross-border e-commerce, and then takes Alibaba as an example to describe the SWOT analysis of my country's cross-border e-commerce enterprises, and then analyzes the development dilemma of China's cross-border e-commerce enterprises, and finally designs The development strategy of my country's cross-border e-commerce enterprises based on big data is presented. Building an efficient and effective credit scorer for enterprises is an important and urgent demand in the cross-border e-commerce industry. In this paper, we present a framework to build a credit scorer using e-commerce data integrated from various sources. First, an improved dependency graph approach is proposed to recognize distinct records in the dataset. Then, we apply logistic regression using a prejudice remover regularizer to train the model, preceded by predictor preparation through binning and evaluating their information value. Lastly, we build the credit scorer according to the coefficients of the model. We implement our framework on a dataset from the official customs database and a large cross-border e-commerce platform. The empirical results demonstrate that the scorer built by our methodology can be used to effectively evaluate enterprises, while also removing prejudice against small and medium enterprises to a certain extent. The article analyzes the Draft Law on Structural Modifications of Commercial Companies, which aims to transpose Directive (EU) 2019/2121 on cross-border transformations, mergers, and divisions. The Draft Law aims to establish a harmonized legal framework for structural modification operations, protect the interests of shareholders, and strengthen measures to protect creditors and workers. However, the Economic and Social Council (CES) has expressed disagreement with the procedure followed in the consultation and has pointed out that the Draft Law does not pay sufficient attention to the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises. Additionally, the CES considers that the text is not clear enough regarding the rights of information and participation of workers. [Extracted from the article]

In order to explore how cross-border e-commerce and logistics companies make decisions during synergy in a dynamic environment, this paper first establishes an evolutionary game model to study the influencing factors of enterprises' strategies in the process of synergy in a dynamic environment. Then the study uses sensitivity analysis and numerical simulation to analyse the impact of different enterprises' strategies on synergy. Finally, the synergistic strategies of enterprises in different dynamic environments are discussed. We found that: (1) capital and labour input of cross-border e-commerce platforms will affect the synergy. In a highly dynamic environment, the influences are greater. (2) There is a positive correlation between the technical level of the platform and synergistic degree, while the high technical level of logistics enterprises will inhibit synergy. However, in an unstable environment, the positive effect still exists, and the change in the logistics enterprise technology level has little effect on synergy. (3) The technical level of the cross-border e-commerce platform has the greatest impact on the benefits of both parties, and then is the lower cost of labour and capital input, while the technical level of logistics companies has little impact. Currently, the global consumer market is moving toward digitalization, and cross-border e-commerce enterprises are no exception and have to make adjustments in their operational strategies. Digitalization brings complexity, dynamism, and fragmentation in sales channels, media environment, and consumer behavior, requiring cross-border e-commerce enterprises to react more quickly and timely, and the need for intelligent operations is becoming more and more urgent. In this paper, through the problem of predicting the e-commerce user behavior process, the model usually needs to focus on both long-term preferences and short-term preferences of e-commerce users in the current behavior sequence; otherwise, the behavior prediction will be much less effective. Specifically, through a comprehensive analysis of typical cases, the strategies and problems in the intelligent operation process of China's cross-border e-commerce enterprises at the present stage are discussed, and corresponding suggestions are put forward, so as to promote the rapid development of China's cross-border e-commerce enterprises. As an important part of modern logistics, warehousing provides a guarantee for the sustainable stability of enterprises, so as to realize the economy of enterprise production and transportation and so as to realize the economy of enterprise production and transportation. With the advent of the information age, the traditional logistics management model has been difficult to adapt to the current increasingly fierce market competition environment. In the management of cross-border e-commerce enterprises, warehouse management must establish a systematic and information-based logistics warehouse management system to improve the level of logistics management. Passive wireless RFID asset management provides a new idea for the construction of warehousing management system of cross-border e-commerce enterprises. Through the application of RFID technology, the warehousing design scheme and process of cross-border e-commerce enterprises can be optimized and controlled to the greatest extent, so as to strengthen the optimization and integration of supply chain and improve the market competitiveness of logistics enterprises. Based on the wireless passive RFID asset management technology, this paper analyses the construction and optimization of the logistics warehouse management system of cross-border e-commerce enterprises. The simulation results show that after the application of wireless passive RFID asset management technology, the warehouse operation efficiency of cross-border e-commerce enterprises is improved, the employee utilization rate is relatively reduced, and at the same time, it can also save a lot of manpower and reduce the labour cost. With the rapid development of world trade exchange, transnational and cross regional e-commerce enterprises have become the heat conductor of trade exchanges among people, organizations and related enterprises of all countries, as well as the important content of high-quality economic development of all countries. Multi-national and transregional e-commerce enterprises have the characteristics of simple circulation structure, simplified transaction cost, high efficiency and rapid evolution in economic and trade activities. However, the traditional transnational and transregional e-commerce enterprises have the disadvantages of slow development and low efficiency in the supply chain. At the same time, there are still many uncertain factors in the corresponding decision sequence. In this paper, the risks faced by cross-border e-commerce supply chain will be comprehensively analyzed and studied. At the same time, the decision-making problem of cross-border e-commerce supply chain sequence will be studied innovatively from two aspects of random uncertainty and fuzzy uncertainty, and a double-layer random expectation model will be established to form a fractal statistical model of supply chain sequence. In this paper, two kinds of sequential strategies are discussed in detail, and a double-layer fuzzy equivalent model is established. Finally, the model is solved by optimization software. The experimental results show that the fractal fractional optimization model proposed in this paper has advantages for the supply chain optimization of multi-national and cross regional e-commerce enterprises. Purpose The purpose of this study is to advance and test the idea that product exports and technology imports are complementary cross-border learning approaches for emerging market firms' innovation performance. In addition, this paper also seeks to search for contextual variables that affect this complementarity.Design/methodology/approach This study takes systems approach to examine complementarity, combining a "productivity" and an "adoption" approach. In addition, interaction approach is also used as robustness check.Findings The authors show that the positive effect of export activity on firms' growth rate is higher for firms that also engage in technology import, and vice versa. Furthermore, they show that, Ceteris paribus, firms' adoption of one cross-border learning mechanism (e.g. entering export markets) positively influences the adoption of the other (e.g. technology import). Moreover, this complementarity is only significant for firms from province with low level of marketization.Research limitations/implications This inconsistency about learning-by-exporting and technology import on innovation can be resolved, at least partially, by the complementarities perspective. This paper also reveals two mechanisms of learning-by-exporting: the indirect effect of export on innovation through increasing the likelihood of adoption decision of importing technology and enhancing the positive effect of technology imports.Practical implications The potential of combining the two strategies should not be ignored by managers. To improve regional competitiveness, local governments should try best to improve the efficiency of customs to help firms realize the synergistic effect of learning-by- exporting and learning-by-technology-importing.Originality/value This study first explores the positive complementarity between the two cross-border learning mechanism in sharping EEEs 2019 innovation performance and identifies the condition to realize the synergistic effect of learning-by-exporting and learning-by-technology-importing. Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate whether, in the context of a cross-border acquisition, the acquirer's country image (CI) could moderate the relationship between the acquirer's corporate reputation (CR) and consumers' repurchase intentions towards the products of the post-acquisition target.Design/methodology/approach The authors examined the roles played by the acquirer's CR and the acquirer's CI on consumer behaviour by considering an Italian target firm with a high reputation and comparing four foreign acquiring firms with different combinations of CR (poor/good) and CI (high/low).Findings It was found that both CR and CI have a significant impact on Italian consumers' intention to repurchase the products of the post-acquisition target. Furthermore, the results show a greater increase in consumers' repurchase intentions when a good reputation of the acquirer is paired with a high CI for the acquirer, but a high CI cannot compensate for a poor CR.Originality/value The research investigates, in the context of cross-border acquisitions (CBAs), the impact of the acquirer's CR and the acquirer's CI on the host country consumers' repurchase intentions after the CBA, which has not previously been thoroughly examined. It can help managers to understand the conditions under which CBAs will be favourably evaluated. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

With the development of electronic information technology and the deepening of economic globalization, cross-border e-commerce has become an important way for the development of Chinese enterprises. The degree of customer satisfaction determines the ability of Chinese enterprises to expand the overseas market and enhance the international brand image. The customer satisfaction index system in cross-border e-commerce should follow the principle of objectivity, comprehensiveness and dynamic. Based on the questionnaire survey and literature analysis, the index system of customer satisfaction of cross-border e-commerce is given including four first level indicators and twelve second level indicators, and the weight of each index is calculated. Based on the above analysis, this paper calculates the comprehensive customer satisfaction of an electronic business website to provide some references for the relevant researchers. E-commerce has become one of the major consumption patterns currently. Understanding consumer e-commerce shopping behavior helps to improve the competitiveness of enterprises. The purpose of this study is to examine service justice as the antecedent factor of dysfunctional customer behavior (DCB) and how it interacts with negative emotion and service dissatisfaction, which in turn, affect DCB. The study utilizes an online survey to obtain data from 490 Taobao.com users after the well known whistle-blowing incident against Taobao counterfeits. The partial least square method of structure equation modeling is employed to test the proposed research model. The results indicate that service justice has a negative significant correlation with negative emotion, and negative emotion significantly induces service dissatisfaction. Finally, both negative emotion and service dissatisfaction are positively correlated with DCB. Knowledge about cross-border e-commerce DCB is scarce. This study is based on customer justice theory to provide empirical evidence about the factors influencing DCB perpetrated on Taobao's shopping website. Implications and future research are further discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper documents the broad patterns of firm sales and participation in trade for Northern Ireland and Ireland. Looking across sectors and firm size groups, it examines the distribution of cross-border trade with a particular focus on the degree of integration of supply chains. Using both aggregate and firm-level data, this paper aims to give as comprehensive a picture as possible of the international activities of firms in both economies. I highlight the contribution made by micro and small firms in cross-border trade. Despite a steadily increasing probability of being an exporter as firm size increases, cross-border trade has many features that make it resemble local trade rather than international export activity. Trade in intermediate products and the large role of two-way traders shows that supply chain links are a major element of cross-border trade. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

A report from Honghe University in Mengzi, China explores the relationship between intellectual capital (IC), career sustainability, and employee innovative workplace behavior (IWB) in Chinese cross-border e-commerce enterprises (CEEs). The study found that human capital (HC) and structural capital (SC) had an inverted U-shaped influence on IWB, while relational capital (RC) was positively related to IWB. Perceived career sustainability moderated these relationships, positively moderating the associations between HC and IWB and between SC and IWB, and negatively moderating the RC-IWB relationship. The findings have implications for managers in CEEs and can help inform the allocation of knowledge resources to maximize innovative behaviors in the international business context. • We formulate tradeoffs among incremental demand, cash opportunity cost, and chain-to-chain competition. • An asymmetric equilibrium exists when incremental demand is in a moderate range. • Reselling platform has more incentives to provide installment services than agent selling. • Reselling platform's supplier may share the loss from cash opportunity cost with the platform. • Tariff mitigates firms' incentives to provide installment services. Installment services such as Amazon Pay EMI, Ant Credit Pay, and ZestMoney EMI are internet-based financial innovations, which have been more and more widely offered by e-commerce firms. Undoubtedly, installment helps attract customers by allowing them to "buy now and pay later". However, firms have to undertake the cash opportunity cost because the actual payment is triggered some days/months later, without any interest in the grace period. In this paper, we build a chain-to-chain competition model comprising of a reselling platform (e.g., Amazon.com), an agent selling platform (e.g., Taobao.com) and their exclusive suppliers, to investigate whether the reselling platform and the supplier on the agent selling platform have incentives to provide installment services. Interestingly, we find that, when the incremental demand is in a moderate range, there exists an asymmetric equilibrium where the reselling platform provides installment services while the supplier on the agent selling platform does not. Regarding the wholesale price for the reselling platform, we find the supplier may determine a lower or higher wholesale price when the reselling platform provides installment services, depending on the volume of the incremental demand. We further study the impact of tariff cost, product substitutability, amount limitation, correlation between price and incremental demand and uncertainty of exchange rate for installment to verify the robustness of the main findings. • E-tailers selling global brand products always benefit from blockchain as quality verification. • Blockchain will increase the MNF's wholesaling profit, but reduces the benefits from retailing and tax-planning. • MNF's participation decisions are influenced by competition and tax disparity between tax jurisdictions. • Tariff and blockchain cost hinder the MNF from participating in blockchain. The e-tailers selling global brands' products on cross-border e-commerce platforms have been suffering from low-quality image. To solve this problem, some platforms (e.g., eBay, Lazada, and Tmall Global) have utilized blockchain for quality verification that creates customers' trust and guarantees the products' quality. It is widely acknowledged that the operations of blockchain require all supply chain parties' participation. Therefore, whether the owners of the global brands have incentives to verify the quality and origin of the goods via blockchain can be critical, especially when the brand-owners are multinational firms (MNFs) owning retail divisions in the same market. In this paper, we study a co-opetitive supply chain consisting of an MNF located in high tax country/region and an e-tailer sourcing from the MNF and reselling the goods. The e-tailer competes with the MNF's retail division in a low-tax country/region. We find that, blockchain is a double-edged sword for the MNF. It increases the MNF's wholesaling profit, but reduces the MNF's retailing profit and tax-planning benefit. Consequently, the MNF will not participate in blockchain if the tax disparity is large and the downstream competition is fierce. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
