BACKGROUND Focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH) commonly occurs in women; it is usually asymptomatic and sometimes difficult to differentiate from hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). CASE SUMMARY A large space-occupying lesion in the right lobe of the liver was incidentally detected in an adult man and diagnosed as HCC. Transcatheter arterial chemoembolization was applied once monthly for 2 years, but the lesion did not decrease in size. It was revealed by biopsy to be FNH. Eleven years later, the patient underwent liver resection due to hemorrhage and the pathological examination confirmed FNH. CONCLUSION For a space-occupying lesion, it is prerequisite to pathologically confirm the diagnosis and the corresponding intervention can be effective.

BACKGROUND. Neuroinflammation is a well-known feature of early Alzheimer disease (AD) yet astrocyte activation has not been extensively evaluated with in vivo imaging in Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) due to amyloid plaque pathology. Unlike neurons, astrocytes metabolize acetate, which has potential as a glial biomarker in neurodegeneration in response to AD pathologic features. Since the medial temporal lobe (MTL) is a hotspot for AD neurodegeneration and inflammation, we assessed astrocyte activity in the MTL and compared to amyloid and cognition. METHODS. We evaluate spatial patterns of in vivo astrocyte activation and their relationships to amyloid deposition and cognition in a cross-sectional pilot study of 6 participants with MCI and 5 cognitively normal (CN) participants. We measure (11)C-acetate and (18)F-florbetaben amyloid standardized uptake values ratios (SUVRs) and kinetic flux compared to cerebellum on positron emission tomography (PET), with magnetic resonance imaging and neurocognitive testing. RESULTS. Medial temporal lobe (MTL) (11)C-acetate SUVR was significantly elevated in MCI compared to CN participants (P = 0.03; Cohen d = 1.76). Moreover, MTL (11)C-acetate SUVR displayed significant associations with global and regional amyloid burden in MCI. Greater MTL (11)C-acetate retention was significantly related with worse neurocognitive measures including the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (P = 0.001), Word List Recall memory (P = 0.03), Boston Naming Test (P = 0.04) and Trails B test (P = 0.04). CONCLUSIONS. While further validation is required, this exploratory pilot study suggests a potential role for (11)C-acetate PET as a neuroinflammatory biomarker in MCI and early AD to provide clinical and translational insights into astrocyte activation as a pathological response to amyloid.

Cisplatin is one of the most effective antitumor agents, but its clinical use is highly limited by its severe side effects, especially nephrotoxicity. Recently, the active form of gasdermin D (GSDMD), termed GSDMD-N, was identified to mediate pyroptotic inflammatory cell death in several diseases. However, the role of the GSDMD-N fragment in cisplatin-induced acute kidney injury (AKI) remains unclear. In the present study, we found that pyroptosis was induced by cisplatin in both mouse kidney tissues and renal tubular epithelial cells, accompanied by increased expression of the GSDMD-N fragment. In GSDMD knockout mice with cisplatin-induced AKI, we found that cisplatin-induced loss of renal function, renal tubular injury, and inflammation was significantly attenuated compared with wild-type mice. Furthermore, the GSDMD-N fragment was overexpressed by an established rapid plasmid tail vein injection approach to evaluate the role of this cleaved form of GSDMD in AKI. As expected, mice with GSDMD-N fragment overexpression in the kidney were more susceptible to cisplatin-induced AKI than control mice, as evidenced by further elevated serum levels of blood urea nitrogen and creatinine, aggravated renal pathology, increased expression of neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin and kidney injury molecule-1, and enhanced renal inflammatory cytokine secretion, which indicates a pathogenic role of GSDMD-N in cisplatin-induced AKI by triggering cell pyroptosis. Similar results were also observed in renal tubular epithelial cells overexpressing the GSDMD-N fragment. Thus these findings suggested that the activation of GSDMD contributes to cisplatin-induced AKI, possibly through triggering pyroptosis.

In this paper, we propose a RGB-D tracking algorithm, built upon hierarchical multi-modal fusion fully convolutional neural network (FCN) with attention model. First, we encode the depth images into three channels using the HHA representation to obtain the similar structure to the RGB images. Second, a multi-modal fusing features learning FCN with attention model is constructed, which can extract hierarchical multi-modal fusing features of the samples in RGB-D data. The attention model is adopted to exploit the importance weight of RGB and depth to fuse the features of the two modalities at multiple layers effectively, rather than concatenating the feature vectors of the two channels simply. Finally, the hierarchical multi-modal fusing features of the samples are input to the Efficient Convolution Operators (ECO) tracker, and the update strategy is improved by the occlusion detection in the depth images. Experimental results datasets demonstrate that the proposed RGB-D tracker achieves new state-of-art performance on the large-scale Princeton RGB-D Tracking Benchmark (PTB) dataset and the University of Birmingham RGB-D Tracking Benchmark (BTB).

The incidence of primary poorly differentiated neuroendocrine carcinoma (PDNC) of the hypopharynx iŝ4%. However, the disease pathogenesis, natural history, and prognostic factors remain poorly understood. We report the case of a 66-year-old man who presented with multiple metastases from primary PDNC of the hypopharynx. Physical examination revealed a3×4 cm left cervical mass located at the level III, with tenderness and an unclear boundary. Laryngoscopy revealed a large mass arising from the posterior hypopharynx; glottis and vocal cord movements were invisible. After consultation with our head and neck oncological multidisciplinary team, diagnosis and specific treatment plan were made. Under general anesthesia, a biopsy sample was obtained via suspension laryngoscopy. Routine pathology revealed small cell carcinoma. Immunohistochemical staining identified neoplastic cells that were positive for cytokeratins, CD56, chromogranin A, and synaptophysin. The Ki-67 mitotic index approached 80%. These findings confirmed hypopharyngeal PDNC, and chemotherapy was prescribed. After 7 months, the tumor metastasized to the left side of the anterior chest wall, bilateral lungs, left liver, and skeleton. The soft tissue of the chest wall was biopsied, and pathology revealed PDNC. Subsequent examinations over the next 4 months confirmed multiple liver metastatic lesions. The patient succumbed to the cancer progression a month later. Here, we systematically review the clinical manifestations, pathogenesis, prognostic factors, and treatment of the disease. In conclusion, patients always have a poor prognosis due to a lack of optimal treatment.

Generative Adversarial Networks is an interesting way to teach computers to do human work. A strong competitor makes you better, and learning from each other in competition with him, this is the principle of GAN. In this article, we first use the user and movie information as input, and let the generator generate an n-dimensional vector. Next, we propose a new method that integrates the attention mechanism, which is to add the attention mechanism model to the adversarial network model, and let the n vector and the weight value obtained by the attention mechanism be summed and the obtained result is used as the output To make recommendations to users, we proposed the ACFGAN model. Finally, through a large number of experiments on real data sets, we verified that ACFGAN can indeed effectively improve the accuracy of recommendations.

Multi-object tracking has been a key research subject in many computer vision applications. We propose a novel approach based on multi-agent deep reinforcement learning (MADRL) for multi-object tracking to solve the problems in the existing tracking methods, such as a varying number of targets, non-causal, and non-realtime. At first, we choose YOLO V3 to detect the objects included in each frame. Unsuitable candidates were screened out and the rest of detection results are regarded as multiple agents and forming a multi-agent system. Independent Q-Learners (IQL) is used to learn the agents' policy, in which, each agent treats other agents as part of the environment. Then, we conducted offline learning in the training and online learning during the tracking. Our experiments demonstrate that the use of MADRL achieves better performance than the other state-of-art methods in precision, accuracy, and robustness.

Background Brain metastases are common in clinical practice. Many clinical scales exist for predicting survival and hence deciding on best treatment but none are individualised and none use quantitative imaging parameters. A multicenter study was carried out to evaluate the prognostic utility of a simple diffusion weighted MRI parameter, tumor apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC). Methods A retrospective analysis of imaging and clinical data was performed on a cohort of 223 adult patients over a ten-year period 2002–2012 pooled from three institutions. All patients underwent surgical resection with histologically confirmed brain metastases and received adjuvant whole brain radiotherapy and/or chemotherapy. Survival was modelled using standard clinical variables and statistically compared with and without the addition of tumor ADC. Results The median overall survival was 9.6 months (95% CI 7.5–11.7) for this cohort. OBJECTIVE To investigate the safety profiles of Motherwort injection (MI). METHODS A multi-center, prospective and drug-derived hospital intensive monitoring method was conducted to assess the safety of MI in real world applications. This study was based on a very large population after the injection was approved and marketed in China. All patients using the injection in participating hospitals were monitored to determine the incidence, pattern, severity and outcome of associated adverse events. RESULTS The post-marketing surveillance was performed in 10 094 female patients from April to December, 2015. The incidence of adverse drug reactions (ADRs) was 0.79‰ (8/10 094). Among the 8 patients, the reported adverse events mainly included systemic abnormalities, such as fever, chills and eyelid edema; skin and appendages disorders, such as pruritus and rash; gastrointestinal disorders, such as nausea, abdominal distension and pain; heart rate and rhythm disorders, such as palpitation and increased heart rate. All of these ADRs were mild in severity. CONCLUSION In this study the ADRs incidence rate of MI is very low, which supports that it is generally safe for use in obstetric and gynecological diseases. However, the total number of 8 ADRs recorded over a relatively short time span seems limited, and the low number of reports could not represent an absolute guarantee of safety.

Head and neck cancers are among the most common cancers worldwide. More than 90% to 95% are squamous cell carcinomas (SCCs). Accurate staging at diagnosis optimizes treatment planning with improved outcomes. Recently, 18F-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) PET-computed tomography (CT) has shown tremendous value at diagnosis for accurate staging, treatment planning, and prognostication; and after definitive therapy for assessing response and long-term surveillance. Novel non-FDG PET tracers are under investigation, which have great potential for improving patient care in this era of personalized medicine.

Background: Haploidentical hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) provides an alternative option for patients without HLA-matched donors. Graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), engraftment failure, and infectious complications are main causes of non-relapse mortality (NRM). We hypothesized that selective depletion of TCRαβ+ and CD45RA+ naïve T cells will permit hematopoietic engraftment while effectively reducing GVHD and providing donor immune reconstitution through adoptive transfer of donor's mature NK cells, γδ T cells and CD45RO+ memory T cells. Methods: Mobilized PBSC products were divided into two fractions in 9:1 ratio and depleted using CliniMACS device after labelling with TCRαβ and CD45RA reagents (Miltenyi Biotec, Bergish-Gladbach, Germany) respectively. All except 6 patients received the standard conditioning regimen of fludarabine 160mg/m 2 divided daily over 4 days, thiotepa 10mg/kg divided twice daily for 1 day, and melphalan 70 - 140mg/m 2 for 1 day, in combination with either total lymphoid irradiation 6Gy (n=53) or 7.5Gy (n=12) over 3 equal fractions, or total body irradiation of 2Gy (n=17), or thymoglobulin (n=2). Short term GVHD prophylaxis was given for 30 days to 1 patient using MMF, 73 using tacrolimus, and 2 using sirolimus. Results: Between January 2017 and July 2021, we transplanted 85 patients, including 78 adults (median age, 48 years; range 20 - 70) and 7 children (median age, 13 years, range 7 - 17), with high risk AML (n=44), ALL (n=19), MDS (n=9), plasma cell neoplasm (n=4), mast cell leukemia (n=1), acute undifferentiated leukemia (n=1), CMMoL (n=2), CML (n=1) and lymphoma (n=2). Patients were infused with TCRαβ and CD45RA depleted grafts containing median of 6.19 x 10 6 (range 3.54 - 20.78) CD34+ cells/kg, 0.00 x 10 4 (range 0 - 0.97) CD45RA+CD3+ cells/kg, and 1.10 x 10 6 (range 0.15 - 11.67) CD45RO+CD3+ cells/kg. TCRαβ depleted graft fraction contained a median of 0.42 x 10 4 (range 0 - 11.30) TCRαβ+ cells/kg, and 7.61 x 10 6 (range 0.62 - 31.84) TCRγδ+ cells/kg. Only 1 patient experienced primary graft failure with no secondary graft failures. All others had engraftment of ANC > 500 cells/µL at median of 12 days (range 8 - 22) and PLT > 20,000 cells/µL at median of 11 days (range 7 - 17). 6 patients with high donor-specific HLA antibodies (DSA) titres engrafted successfully after desensitisation with plasma exchange, rituximab, and immunoglobulin. 29 patients (34%) developed acute GVHD of grade II - IV (Gd II, n=20; Gd III, n=5; Gd IV, n=4), with a cumulative incidence (CI) of grade II-IV and grade III-IV of 31% (95% CI 21-42%) and 11% (95% CI 5-19%) respectively, at 100 days. Chronic GVHD was seen in only 4 patients at a 2-year CI of 6% (95% CI 2-13%). 1-year CI of non-relapse mortality (NRM) and relapse were 22.7% (95% CI 13.9 - 32.9%) and 15.7% (95% CI 8.3 - 25.3%) respectively. 4 of the 17 NRM were attributed to aGVHD. Viral reactivation included CMV (n=32), HHV-6 (n=22), EBV (n=15), and adenovirus (n=8). 15 patients (17.6%) died of infection within 180 days, including 6 patients with fatal bacteraemia (bacteria, n=4; candidemia, n=2) and 1 patient from disseminated adenovirus infection. At a median follow up of 448 days (range 16- 1648) in surviving patients, 2-year overall (OS), event-free (EFS), and GVHD-free/relapse-free (GRFS) survival were 64.2 %, 54.0 %, and 49.0%, respectively (Figure 1). In multivariate analysis, only HCT-comorbidity index (HCT-CI) showed significant impact on OS (HR 3.38; 95% CI 1.42 - 8.02; p=0.0059), EFS (HR 2.62; 95% CI 1.18 - 5.76; p=0.0017), and NRM (HR 4.92; 95% CI 1.79 - 13.58; p=0.0021). Disease risk index (DRI) showed a trend in higher risk of relapse (HR 2.83; 95% CI 0.96 - 8.33; p=0.059). 2-year OS, EFS, and GRFS for the subset of 58 patients (adults, n=52; children, n=6) with HCT-CI score of 0 were 76.6 %, 63.4%, and 57.5 %, respectively (Figure 2). Conclusions: Our preliminary results suggest that RIC haplo-HCT with TCRαβ and CD45RA+ depleted grafts allow successful allograft in high-risk patients lacking suitable matched donors, including patients with high levels of DSA. Acute GVHD was generally abortive, leading to low incidence of chronic GVHD. Best outcomes are seen in patients with favourable HCT-CI. Further efforts are needed to reduce the risk of infection-related death in patients with high risk HCT-CI, and relapse in patients with high risk DRI, through optimization of anti-microbial prophylaxis or prophylactic infusion of memory-cell DLI. Neisseria gonorrhoeae is a sexually transmitted pathogen highly prevalent worldwide with an increasing trend of resistance to antimicrobial treatment. We conducted this study to trace the susceptibility of N. gonorrhoeae to penicillin (PC), spectinomycin (SPCM), ciprofloxacin (CPFX), azithromycin (AZM), cefixime (CFIX), and ceftriaxone (CTRX) in Guangxi province. In total, 303 N. gonorrhoeae isolates were obtained from patients infected with N. gonorrhoeae in 6 cities in Guangxi during 2013-2015, and the antibiotic susceptibility patterns were analyzed by an agar dilution assay. The results showed that N. gonorrhoeae was susceptible to treatment with cephalosporins, including CTRX (99.7% of isolates), CFIX (99%), SPCM (100%), and AZM (96.4%), and this is the first report of antibiotic susceptibility for AZM surveillance of N. gonorrhoeae in Guangxi. Penicillinase-producing N. gonorrhoeae (PPNG) isolates increased in prevalence from 37% in 2013 to 64% in 2015 (P = 0.068), and tetracycline-resistant N. gonorrhoeae (TRNG) prevalence increased from 23% in 2013 to 44% in 2015 (P = 0.071). High resistance of N. gonorrhoeae to PC was associated with infection in patients at ages 25 to 30 years (P ＜ 0.05), whereas PPNG positivity (P ＜ 0.01), and TRNG positivity were risk factors for CPFX resistance (P = 0.0407). Our study provides plausible evidence for therapeutic strategies and N. gonorrhoeae infection control and prevention in Guangxi, China.

van der Waals materials have attracted much scientific and technological interest recently. In this study, We synthetized a novel van der Waals brown semitransparent semiconductor: InTeI single crystal, and characterized its structure and optical properties carefully. Single crystal diffraction results show a layered structure with the P21/c space group and 4.09 A interlayer distance at room temperature. UV–visible absorption and photoluminescence spectra reveal that the band gap of InTeI is ~2.219 eV. The photocurrents under an illumination wavelength of 500 nm and non-illuminated conditions indicate its potential applicability in the photovoltaic field. Our work may be benefit for the understanding of its practical applications in field emission devices and photodectors.

Cerebral β-amyloid burden can be measured by positron emission tomography (PET) tracers, including 11C-Pittsburgh Compound B (11C-PiB) and three fluorinated tracers that have been approved by regulatory agencies. This review focuses on the current clinical use of amyloid PET and the added utility of quantifying β-amyloid deposition. Using systematic review methods, a PubMed search identified studies on the added value of standardized uptake value ratio (SUVR) to visual reads. PubMed search was also performed to identify studies that illustrate important factors that cause variability in SUVR results, as well as key papers in the initial development of 11C-PiB. Among studies comparing visual interpretation and SUVR, there is high concordance between visual reads and SUVR for diagnosis classification, with evidence that SUVR decreases inter-reader variability in visual interpretation and improves accuracy. The variability among results of studies utilizing SUVR is likely multifactorial, including choice of reference regions, choice of target regions, and methods for determining SUVR thresholds. The initial 11C-PiB studies illustrate the importance of rigorous pharmacokinetic modeling and stepwise simpler quantitative methods when translating radiotracers. There is increasing evidence of the added value of SUVR in the clinic, in particular in borderline cases or for detection of subtle changes. SUVR provides a reasonably accurate measurement of amyloid plaque deposition compared to pharmacokinetic modeling methods.

To solve the satellite repeater's flexible and wideband frequency conversion problem, we propose a novel microwave photonic repeater system, which can convert the upload signal's carrier to six different frequencies. The scheme employs one 20 GHz bandwidth dual-drive Mach-Zehnder modulator (MZM) and two 10 GHz bandwidth MZMs. The basic principle of this scheme is filtering out two optical sidebands after the optical carrier suppression (OCS) modulation and combining two sidebands modulated by the input radio frequency (RF) signal. This structure can realize simultaneous multi-band frequency conversion with only one frequency-fixed microwave source and prevent generating harmful interference sidebands by using two corresponding optical filters after optical modulation. In the simulation, one C-band signal of 6 GHz carrier can be successfully converted to 12 GHz (Ku-band), 28 GHz, 34 GHz, 40 GHz, 46 GHz (Ka-band) and 52 GHz (V-band), which can be an attractive method to realize multi-band microwave photonic satellite repeater. Alternatively, the scheme can be configured to generate multi-band local oscillators (LOs) for widely satellite onboard clock distribution when the input RF signal is replaced by the internal clock source.

Introduction: Allogeneic hematopoietic cell transplant (allo-HCT) is an effective consolidative treatment for patients with certain hematological malignancies and gives the best outcome when done in remission. However, patients with refractory acute myeloid leukemia (AML), certain forms of myeloproliferative neoplasia (MPN), and myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) deemed unable to achieve remission with standard induction are often excluded from allo-HCT with conventional conditioning regimen as pre-transplant remission could not be achieved. Recently, a sequential transplant approach, as developed by the Munich group, comprising of intensive cytoreductive chemotherapy FLAMSA (fludarabine/amsacrine/cytarabine) to decrease leukemia cell burden shortly prior to conditioning regimen, had been successfully used for high-risk (HR) AML/MDS with promising results. Methods: We studied 56 patients (median age, 52 years; range 17-68) with HR AML (n=45), as defined by refractory, relapsed disease, secondary leukemia, complete remission with adverse-risk cytogenetics according to ELN criteria, or high/very high risk refined Disease Risk Index (DRI), MPN (n=2), and HR MDS (n=9) according to IPSS-R, undergoing allo-HCT using the sequential transplant approach in 2 transplant centers in Singapore between January 2009 and June 2020. The sequential transplant approach combined a cytoreductive chemotherapy, which consisted of either FLAMSA (n=17), FLAG +/- Ida [fludarabine/cytarabine/granulocyte colony stimulating factor (GCSF) +/- idarubicin] (n=23), or CLAG (clofarabine +/- cytarabine +/- GCSF) (n=15), followed by reduced intensity (RIC) (N=48) or myeloablative (MAC) (N=8) conditioning regimen. All patients received peripheral blood stem cell from matched related donors (N=30), mismatched related donors (N=3), matched unrelated donors (N=16), or mismatched unrelated donors (N=7). Post-grafting immunosuppression consisted of calcineurin inhibitor and mycophenolate mofetil in all patients. Thymoglobuline or post-transplant cyclophosphamide were added for GVHD prophylaxis in unrelated donor transplant and mismatched related donors, respectively. Results: The median time to neutrophil > 1000/μL was 11 days (range, 8-19). With a median follow-up of 44 months (range, 1-123), the Kaplan-Meier estimate of overall (OS) and leukemia-free (LFS) survivals at 5 years were 49% (95% CI, 35-62) and 37% (95% CI, 23-52), respectively. The 2-years cumulative incidence of relapse and non-relapse mortality (NRM) were 47% (95% CI, 32-60) and 13% (95% CI, 6-24), respectively. Patients receiving FLAG or CLAG-based sequential regimen showed lower cumulative incidence of NRM (2-year cumulative incidence for NRM: 5% vs 29%; p=0.018), and similar relapse (2-year cumulative incidence for relapse: 49% vs 53%; p=0.64), as compared to patients given FLAMSA-based sequential regimen, resulting in a trend towards more favourable OS (5-year OS: 53% vs 41%; p=0.29) and LFS (5-year LFS: 46% vs 20%; p=0.08). In multivariable analysis, only refined DRI showed significant impact on OS (p=0.04), but has no significant impact on LFS, NRM, and relapse. The 5-year OS for patients with intermediate/high risk and very high risk DRI were 59% and 27%, respectively (p=0.017), and the corresponding 5-year LFS were 46%, and 20% (p=0.06), respectively (Figure 1 & Figure 2). The intensity of conditioning regimen did not significantly impact on OS, LFS, relapse, and NRM. Conclusions: Sequential transplant conditioning with FLAMSA, FLAG or CLAG followed by allo-HCT is an effective strategy in overcoming the dismal prognosis of HR AML, MDS and MPN, and enabling favourable long-term disease-free survival. More studies on effective strategies such as post-transplant maintenance therapy with prophylactic donor lymphocyte infusion, are needed to further eliminate the risk of relapse, without increasing risk of treatment related toxicity. Neuroendocrine tumors have a propensity to metastasize, but rarely to the orbits. A 69-year-old woman with history of neuroendocrine tumor of pancreatic primary underwent routine follow-up In-pentetreotide (OctreoScan) imaging, with 24-hour whole-body planar images showing subtle right periorbital tracer uptake that localized to extraocular muscles on subsequent SPECT/CT. Orbital MRI further defined the location of these highly suspicious orbital metastases, which were treated with external radiation, with follow-up MRI showing decreased size of the orbital metastases. Early identification and treatment of orbital metastases is critical to help preserve vision and quality of life.

Background: Inflammation is associated with increased sympathetic drive in cardiovascular diseases. The paraventricular nucleus (PVN) of the hypothalamus is a key regulator of sympathetic nerve activity at post-myocardial infarction (MI). High mobility group box-1 (HMGB1) exhibits inflammatory cytokine like activity in the extracellular space. Inflammation is associated with increased sympathetic drive in cardiovscular diseases. However, the role of HMGB1 in sympathetic nerve activity at post-MI remains unknown. The aim of the present study is to determine the role and mechanism of HMGB1 in the PVN, in terms of sympathetic activity and arrhythmia after MI. Methods: Sprague-Dawley rats underwent left anterior descending coronary artery ligation to induce MI. Anti-HMGB1 polyclonal antibody or control IgG was bilaterally microinjected into the PVN (5 μL every second day for seven consecutive days). Then, renal sympathetic nerve activity (RSNA) was recorded. The association between ventricular arrhythmias (VAs) and MI was evaluated using programmed electrophysiological stimulation. After performing electrophysiological experiments in vivo, immunohistochemistry was used to detect the distribution of HMGB1, while Western blot was used to detect the expression of HMGB1 and p-ERK in the PVN of MI rats. Results: HMGB1 and p-ERK were upregulated in the PVN in rats at post-MI. Moreover, bilateral PVN microinjection of anti-HMGB1 polyclonal antibody reversed the expression of HMGB1 and p-ERK, and consequently decreased the baseline RSNA and inducible VAs, when compared to those in sham rats. Conclusions: These results suggest that MI causes the translocation of HMGB1 in the PVN, which leads to sympathetic overactivation through the ERK1/2 signaling pathway. The bilateral PVN microinjection of anti-HMGB1 antibody can be an effective therapy for MI-induced arrhythmia.

Purpose: To investigate the effects of combined treatment of amitriptyline hydrochloride tablets and fluoxetine hydrochloride on therapeutic indicator levels in depressive patients. Methods: Patients with depression ( n = 104) were divided into control group and study group (52 cases each) using random number table method. Control group was treated with oral fluoxetine hydrochloride (FH) tablets only, while the study group received amitriptyline hydrochloride tablets, in addition to fluoxetine hydrochloride tablets. Both treatments lasted 3 months. Clinical effects and thyroid function indices were determined and compared for the two groups. Results: Treatment effectiveness in the study group (92.3 %) was markedly higher than that in control group (75.0 %, p < 0.05). In both groups, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, Hamilton Depression Scale and Hamilton Anxiety Table scores significantly decreased post-treatment ( p < 0.05). In contrast, there was significant increase in γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) and serotonin (5-HT) levels in the two groups. In both groups, T3 and T4 significantly decreased while thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) increased significantly ( p < 0.05). Thyroid function in the study group was markedly higher than in the control group ( p < 0.05). Conclusion: Combination treatment with amitriptyline hydrochloride tablets and FH is more effective than FH alone in the treatment of patients with depression. The combined treatment has a high degree of safety and is recommended for clinical application. The satellite-to-ground communications systems are a significant part of the future communications network. Meanwhile, the large capacity is also one of the goals pursued by the communications network community. In this context, the free-space optical (FSO) communications technique is a prospective solution for satellite-to-ground communications. However, atmospheric turbulence is a capital impairment in FSO communications systems. To improving satellite-to-ground laser communications, we construct the geostationary satellite-to-ground communications system employing aperture diversity combined with mode diversity (hybrid diversity) and analyze the performance of the proposed hybrid diversity reception system in this paper. Overall, the hybrid diversity technique exhibits excellent performance of outage probability and average bit error rate (BER). Especially when nominal value of C n 2 0 is 1 . 5 × 1 0 − 13 m − 2 ∕ 3 , in terms of the BER threshold of 2 . 2 × 1 0 − 2 , the scheme of multiple aperture combined with six-mode diversity (MA-6MD) can economize the transmitted power 3.07W (3.45 dB) and 3.76W (3.93 dB) relative to the scheme of only aperture diversity and the scheme of only six-mode diversity, respectively. For the outage probability of 10%, the MA-6MD scheme can economize the transmitted power 2.51W (3.01 dB) and 3.50W (3.80 dB) relative to the aperture diversity and the six-mode diversity, respectively.

Wallerian degeneration (WD) is defined as progressive anterograde disintegration of axons and accompanying demyelination after an injury to the proximal axon or cell body. Since the 1980s and 1990s, conventional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) sequences have been shown to be sensitive to changes of WD in the subacute to chronic phases. More recently, advanced MRI techniques, such as diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and diffusion tensor imaging (DTI), have demonstrated some of earliest changes attributed to acute WD, typically on the order of days. In addition, there is increasing evidence on the value of advanced MRI techniques in providing important prognostic information related to WD. This article reviews the utility of conventional and advanced MRI techniques for assessing WD, by focusing not only on the corticospinal tract but also other neural tracts less commonly thought of, including corticopontocerebellar tract, dentate-rubro-olivary pathway, posterior column of the spinal cord, corpus callosum, limbic circuit, and optic pathway. The basic anatomy of these neural pathways will be discussed, followed by a comprehensive review of existing literature supported by instructive clinical examples. The goal of this review is for readers to become more familiar with both conventional and advanced MRI findings of WD involving important neural pathways, as well as to illustrate increasing utility of advanced MRI techniques in providing important prognostic information for various pathologies.

Hematopoetic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) is an established therapeutic option for both malignant and nonmalignant indications, whose incidence has continued to increase in recent years. Because of its lower cost and lack of radiation exposure, ultrasound examination is often the first-line imaging modality in evaluating patients both before and after HSCT. It is important for radiologists to be aware of sonographic manifestations of the complications that may arise from HSCT. In this study, we will review the basics of HSCT, the role of imaging, and ultrasound examination findings in common and uncommon complications arising from HSCT.

Smart city is the development of digital city; as its main supporting technology, the digital city geo-spatial framework has to be upgraded to the temporal-spatial information infrastructure (TSII). First, this paper proposes the concept and basic framework of smart city and defines the concept of TSII – processes, integration, mining analysis, and share time-stamps geographic data – and the related policy, regulations and standards, technology, facilities, mechanism, and human resources. The framework has four components: the benchmark of time and space, temporal-spatial big data, the cloud service platform and the related supporting environment. Second, the temporal-spatial big data and cloud service platform are elaborated. Finally, an application of TSII constructed by the Xicheng District Planning Bureau in Beijing is introduced, which provides a useful reference for the construction of smart city.

A 7-month-old boy with malignant rhabdoid tumor of the right lateral neck, status post resection and chemotherapy, underwent FDG PET/CT for restaging. The images showed diffuse increased activity in the spleen and in the bone marrow of the appendicular bones and the spine, which is related to hematopoietin administered after chemotherapy. The images also revealed intense activity in the region of sphenoid bone, which is not a common region to have elevated FDG activity. The subsequent MRI scan showed that this activity was due to not-yet-converted red marrow in the sphenoid bone in this pediatric patient.

Introduction: There is currently no consensus on the optimal frontline therapy for patients with T cell Non-Hodgkin lymphomas (T-NHL). Consolidative autologous stem cell transplant (ASCT) is frequently offered to the patients with chemosensitive disease based on retrospective and prospective studies showing improved progression-free survival (PFS) when compared with historical controls getting chemotherapy alone. However, it remains unclear whether there is a good risk subset of patients who achieve first complete remission (CR1) following induction chemotherapy and who might not benefit from upfront ASCT. To date, no randomized control trials (RCTs) exist and available data is conflicting. We perform a systematic review/meta-analysis of the published literature to address this question. Methods A comprehensive, systematic search (from database inception - 9/2019) of MEDLINE/PubMed, EMBASE and Cochrane databases was performed. PRISMA and Meta-Analysis Of Observational Studies in Epidemiology (MOOSE) guidelines were followed. Studies were selected from a total of 2656, screened based on predefined inclusion/exclusion criteria, and were critically appraised for outcomes of interest [progression free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS)]. Quality of studies was assessed using Newcastle-Ottawa Scale. Hazard ratios (HRs) and corresponding 95% Cis were calculated, and the meta-analysis was performed using the random-effects model. Test for heterogeneity was performed using I2 statistic. Results Of 2656 unique records, 13 studies (prospective = 3; retrospective = 10) were selected. In 8 studies, upfront ASCT was compared to NO ASCT in patients in first complete remission (CR1), while in 5, comparison was with patients achieving either PR1 (first partial remission) or CR1. 11 (of 13) studies reported PFS. Median follow-up in these studies ranged from 22 months to 7.8 years. Results from the meta-analysis showed that T-NHL patients who underwent ASCT had an improved 5-year PFS compared to those with NO ASCT (HR 1.62, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.22 to 2.15, I² = 38%) (Figure 1). However, no benefit was observed in 5-year OS when ASCT was compared to NO ASCT (HR 1.32, 95% CI 0.82 to 2.12, I2 = 83%) (Figure 2). A sensitivity analysis including only studies with patients transplanted in CR1 showed similar findings, with a 5-year PFS (HR 1.54, 95% confidence interval (CI) 1.01 to 2.34, I² = 38%) and 5-yr OS (HR 1.11, 95% CI 0.41 to 3.02, I2 = 90%) when compared to No ASCT. Conclusions In the absence of RCTs, the results of this systematic review/meta-analysis represents the best evidence supporting long term PFS benefits of upfront ASCT consolidation in patients with T-NHL in CR1 or CR1/PR1 after frontline chemotherapy. Aim: To analyze the clinical characteristics and antibiotic resistance of Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia (MP) in Chinese patients, providing valuable information for the management of patients with MP. Methods: A total of 120 children who were hospitalized in The First Hospital of Huzhou between January and December 2016 for respiratory tract infection due to M. pneumoniae were enrolled in this study. Infection with M. pneumoniae was confirmed by ELISA for M. pneumoniae antibody, PCR, and throat culture. Antibiotic resistance was measured from the minimum inhibitory concentrations (MICs) of antibiotics. The 23S rRNA gene of M. pneumoniae was also examined for mutations using DNA sequencing. Patients with MP were classified into antibiotic resistance (n = 98) and no resistance (n = 20) groups. For the 98 patients showing antibiotic resistance, they were further stratified into subgroups based on the antibiotics initially prescribed: azithromycin or erythromycin (n = 78) and cephalosporin or penicillin (n = 20). Clinical characteristics were compared between the patient groups. Results: Antibiotic resistance group presented significantly longer febrile days compared to the no resistance group (P = 0.007). The number of febrile days after macrolide treatment was also longer in antibiotic resistance group than in no resistance group (P = 0.042). MP patients initially treated with azithromycin or erythromycin showed a longer average duration of respiratory symptoms (P = 0.046) and had a fever for more days after macrolide treatment (P = 0.009) compared to those received cephalosporin or penicillin. The average white blood cell count of patients treated with azithromycin or erythromycin was nearly half of those treated with cephalosporin or penicillin (P < 0.001). Nearly 90% of the resistant M. pneumoniae strains showed A to G substitution at position 2063 of the 23S rRNA gene. Conclusion: The clinical characteristics and antibiotic resistance of MP were analyzed in 120 Chinese patients. DNA sequencing revealed a highly prevalent A2063G mutation in the 23S rRNA gene.

Nonamnestic Alzheimer disease (AD) variants, including posterior cortical atrophy and the logopenic variant of primary progressive aphasia, differ from amnestic AD in distributions of tau aggregates and neurodegeneration. We evaluated whether 18F-flortaucipir (also called 18F-AV-1451) PET, targeting tau aggregates, detects these differences, and we compared the results with MRI measures of gray matter (GM) atrophy. Methods: Five subjects with posterior cortical atrophy, 4 subjects with the logopenic variant of primary progressive aphasia, 6 age-matched patients with AD, and 6 control subjects underwent 18F-flortaucipir PET and MRI. SUV ratios and GM volumes were compared using regional and voxel-based methods. Results: The subgroups showed the expected 18F-flortaucipir–binding patterns. Group effect sizes were generally stronger with 18F-flortaucipir PET than with MRI volumes. There were moderate-to-high correlations between regional GM atrophy and 18F-flortaucipir uptake. 18F-flortaucipir binding and GM atrophy correlated similarly to cognitive test performance. Conclusion: 18F-flortaucipir binding corresponds to the expected neurodegeneration patterns in nonamnestic AD, with potential for earlier detection of pathology than is possible with MRI atrophy measures.

More and more sensitive information of big data are being now stored in the cloud for it offers quality service and convenient management. But the Cloud Server cannot be fully trusted because it may leak information which raises security and privacy concerns of the stored data. Therefore, sensitive data has to be encrypted before shifted to the cloud. It is a great convenience for authorized users to directly retrieve the encrypted data stored in the cloud by keyword search. As we all known, returning all the matching documents is a waste of network bandwidth. Although there are some schemes that support sorting fuzzy multi-keyword search, and they are generally based on edit distance to looking for fuzzy alternatives set, which leads to significantly larger index file size and higher search complexity. Then we rank the search results according to the matching score between keywords and documents. In this paper, we give a novel multi-keyword fuzzy and sortable search scheme. We use n-gram technology to realize fuzzy search and give a novel ranking search scheme based on the fuzzy multi- keyword search. For the matching files may be more than one, there are differences between the original query keywords and the fuzzy keywords. When ranking files, we will not only consider the relevance score between the index keywords and the documents, but also the similarity between the query and keywords. Thus we calculate the comprehensive matching score of the file to the set of query keywords, which is more efficient and accurate.

Pulse calibration is an important work for the regional seismic network center. With the scaled amplitude and period from pulse calibration, engineers can understand the running state of the seismographs. A variation above %5 usually means a fault and there should be something wrong with the sensors or digitizers. The various faults are important references for station maintenance, but some of them are ever ignored by the engineers due to the lack of specialized storage and management procedures. In order to make better use of the faulting records, we have developed software SPMIS with VC++ for the regional seismic network center. With the software, users can not only achieve the routine work of pulse calibration measurement, but also the fault classify and storage. The application of SPMIS will be helpful to improve the efficiency of the operation maintenance work for the seismic network center.

The space relation of contour plays an important role in aspects of topographic map reading and map integration. Tree structure is highly valued as a common tool to show space relation by investigators. Studies before focused on inclusion relation of closed contours, which is complicate to build a tree structure and has a high requirement on data. Open contour occurs more and adjacent relation between contours used more widely in aspects of contour direction adjustment and form line extraction in practical production. Thus, this article tries to build a kind of loosen space adjacency level relation of contours (closed and open) and develop an integrated contour tree structure which can show this adjacent relation based on systematic analysis of the feature of contour structure, topology and property. At last, contour direction automatic adjustment model is designed based on above and the effectiveness and rationality of the model is verified through an actual data experiment.

Spiral waves are ubiquitous in diverse physical, chemical, and biological systems. Periodic external fields, such as polarized electric fields, especially circularly polarized electric fields which possess rotation symmetry may have significant effects on spiral wave dynamics. In this paper, control of spiral waves in excitable media under polarized electric fields is reviewed, including resonant drift, synchronization, chiral symmetry breaking, stabilization of multiarmed spiral waves, spiral waves in subexcitable media, control of scroll wave turbulence, unpinning of spiral waves in cardiac tissues, control of spiral wave turbulence in cardiac tissues, etc.

We aimed to investigate whether peripheral low-dose lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induces the breakdown of the blood–brain barrier (BBB) and/or the activation of toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) in the neonatal rat brain. Neonatal rats received intraperitoneal injections of low-dose LPS (0.3 mg/kg∙bw), and the BBB compromise was detected by Evans Blue extravasation and electron microscopy. Meanwhile, TLR4, adaptin myeloid differentiation factor 88 (MyD88), nuclear transcription factor kappa-B (NF-κB) p50 and tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFα) in the neonatal rat brain were determined by quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and Western Blot. Immunohistochemistry was used to determine the distribution and activation of microglia in the brain after LPS administration. It was demonstrated that Evans Blue extravasation was not observed in the brain parenchyma, and that tight junctions of cerebral endothelial cells remained intact after systemic injections of LPS in neonatal rats. Although intracerebroventricular injections of LPS activated microglia and up-regulated the expression of TLR4, MyD88, NF-κB p50 and TNFα in the neonatal rat brain, systemic LPS did not induce these responses. These findings indicate that while the neonatal rat brain responds to the direct intra-cerebral administration of LPS through robust TLR4 activation, systemic low-dose LPS does not induce the innate immune reaction or compromise the BBB in neonatal rats.

Background and Aim Liver transplantation (LT) for hepatitis B virus (HBV)-related disease can be complicated by HBV recurrence. The aim of this study was to evaluate the risk factors, prophylaxis treatment, and histological characteristics of HBV recurrence after LT when using long-term, low-dose hepatitis B immunoglobulin (HBIG) plus nucleoside analog (lamivudine [LAM] or entecavir [ETV]). Methods Retrospective data from 253 adult LT patients using long-term, low-dose HBIG plus nucleoside analog after LT, for a mean treatment duration of 1–72 months, were collected from a single center in Beijing, China. Univariate analyses were conducted to determine the association among gender, age, hepatocellular carcinoma, hepatitis B e antigen-positive status, HBV-DNA level and tyrosine-methionine-aspartate-aspartate (YMDD) mutations on HBV recurrence in these patients. Results Overall, the HBV recurrence rate was 6.32% (16/253). There was no significant difference in the survival rate between the HBV recurrence and non-recurrence groups. Risk factors for HBV recurrence were: hepatitis B e antigen positivity, HBV-DNA > 105 copies/mL, hepatocellular carcinoma, and YMDD mutation. Sixteen patients receiving LAM had HBV recurrence (16/169; mean treatment duration: 61.8 ± 18.3 months). No HBV recurrence occurred in patients receiving ETV after LT (0/84; mean treatment duration: 57.1 ± 15.9 months). Differences in rate of mortality and HBV recurrence were not significant between the two groups. Conclusions LT is an effective treatment for HBV-related end-stage liver disease. The combination of ETV and intramuscular HBIG for HBV recurrence prophylaxis after LT was more effective than LAM, especially in Chinese patients with HBV recurrence risk factors.

Background: Haploidentical hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) provides an alternative option for patients without HLA-matched donor. Graft-versus-host disease (GVHD), engraftment failure, and infectious complications continue to be the main causes of non-relapse mortality (NRM). We hypothesized that selective depletion of TCRαβ+ and CD45RA+ naive T-cells subset will permit hematopoietic engraftment, while effectively reducing GVHD, and provide improved donor immune reconstitution through adoptive transfer of donor’s mature NK-cells, γδ T-cells, and CD45RO+ memory T-cells. Methods: Mobilized PBSC products were divided into two fractions in 9:1 ratio and depleted using CliniMACS device after labeling with TCRαβ and CD45RA reagents (Miltenyi Biotec, Bergish-Gladbach, Germany), respectively. The conditioning regimen consisted of fludarabine 160mg/m2 divided daily over 4 days, thiotepa 10mg/kg divided twice daily for 1 day, and melphalan 70-140mg/m2 for 1 day, in combination with total lymphoid irradiation 6Gy (n=35) or 7.5Gy (n=12) over 3 equal fractions, total body irradiation of 2Gy (n=13) or antithymocyte globuline (n=2). Short term GVHD prophylaxis for 30 days was given to 1 patient using MMF, 50 patients using tacrolimus, and 2 patients using sirolimus. Results: We transplanted 62 patients, including 55 adults (median age, 47 years; range 20-69) and 7 children (median age, 13 years, range 7-17) with high risk AML (n=34), ALL (n=15), MDS (n=7), plasma cell neoplasm (n=2), mast cell leukemia (n=1), acute undifferentiated leukemia (n=1), and NK/T-cell lymphoma (n=1). The patients were infused with TCRαβ and CD45RA depleted graft containing a median of 6.79 x 106 (range 3.54-20.78) CD34+ cells/kg, 0.00 x 104 (range 0-0.97) CD45RA+CD3+ cells/kg, and 1.09 x 106 (range 0.15-11.67) CD45RO+CD3+ cells/kg. The TCRαβ depleted graft fraction contained a median of 0.20 x 104 (range 0-11.30) TCRαβ+ cells/kg, and 8.52 x 106 (range 0.62-30.00) TCRγδ+ cells/kg. Only 1 patient experienced primary graft failure. All others had engraftment of ANC > 500 cells/µL at a median of 10 days (range 8-22) and platelet > 20,000 cells/µL at a median of 12 days (range 8-22). There was no secondary graft failure. Six patients with high titers of donor-specific HLA antibodies (DSA) engrafted successfully after effective desensitisation with plasma exchange, rituximab, and immunoglobulin. Twenty-two patients (35%) developed acute GVHD of grade II - IV (Gd II, n=15; Gd III, n=5; Gd IV, n=2). Three patients experienced chronic GVHD, giving 2-year cumulative incidence of 7 %. Day 180 cumulative incidence of NRM and relapse were 24.8% (95% CI 14.3-36.8%) and 14.9% (95% CI 6.3-27.0%), respectively. Four of the 16 NRM were attributed to aGVHD. Viral reactivation included CMV (n=25), HHV-6 (n=14), EBV (n=11), and adenovirus (n=7). Fourteen patients died of infection, including 5 patients who had fatal blood stream infection (bacteria, n=3; candidemia, n=2) and 1 patient from disseminated adenovirus infection within 180 days. With a median follow-up of 298 days (range 21-1298) in surviving patients, the 2-year overall (OS), event-free (EFS), and GVHD-free/relapse-free (GRFS) survival were 58% (95% CI 37.6-73.4%), 43% (95% CI 27-57%), and 39% (95% CI 24-54%), respectively (Figure 1). In multivariable analysis, only HCT-comorbidity index (HCT-CI) showed significant impact on OS (HR 6.24; 95% CI 2.05-19.05; p=0.0013), EFS (HR 4.80; 95% CI 1.73-13.35; p=0.0027), and RRM (HR 6.49; 95% CI 1.44-29.25; p=0.015), whereas disease risk index (DRI) impacts risk of relapse (HR 4.50; 95% CI 1.39-14.52; p=0.012). The 2-year OS, EFS, and GRFS for the subset of 30 patients (adults, n=25; children, n=5) with HCT-CI score of 0 and low/intermediate risk DRI were 68%, 68%, and 60%, respectively (Figure 2). Conclusions: Our preliminary results suggest that RIC haplo-HCT with TCRαβ and CD45RA+ depleted grafts allowed successful allograft in high-risk patients lacking a suitable matched donor, including patients with high level of DSA. Acute GVHD was generally abortive, leading to low incidence of chronic GVHD. The best outcome is seen in patients with favorable HCT-CI and DRI. Further efforts are needed to lower the risk of death due to blood stream infection, and relapse in patients with high risk DRI, such as optimisation of anti-microbial prophylaxis or repeated doses of memory-cell donor lymphocyte infusion (DLI). Background: Outcomes after haploidentical (Haplo) haematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) and after unrelated cord blood transplantation (UCBT) are encouraging and have become alternative options to treat patients with high-risk haematological malignancies without human leukocyte antigen (HLA) matched related or unrelated donor. There is paucity of data comparing the outcome of UCBT and haplo HCT. We retrospectively analyse and compare the outcome of adult patients with haematological malignancies receiving UCBT and haplo HCT using two different platform for graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) prophylaxis: selective ex-vivo T cell (TCRαβ and CD45RA+) depleted haplo HCT (Koh LP et al. Blood 2018; 132: 2093a) vs unmanipulated T cell replete haplo HCT with high dose posttransplant cyclophosphamide (PTCy). Methods: We studied 169 adults patients receiving allogeneic HCT using 4-6/6 HLA matched UCB (n=100) graft or Haplo (n=69) for various haematologic malignancies between Aug 2006 and July 2019, following myeloablative (MAC, n=76) or reduced intensity conditioning (RIC, N=93) regimen. 37 Haplo patients received unmanipulated non ex-vivo, T cell depleted graft followed by PT Cy for graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) prophylaxis (Haplo PTCy), whereas 32 patients received haplo-HCT with selective ex vivo T cell (TCRαβ and CD45RA+) depleted grafts for GVHD prophylaxis (Haplo-TCD). Results: Two year overall survival (OS) for patients undergoing UCB, Haplo PTCy and Haplo-TCD transplant were 46%, 54% and 55% (p=0.379), and event free survival (EFS) were 41%, 50% and 45% (p=0.573), respectively; these were not significantly different among the 3 groups. Two year cumulative incidence (C.I.) of non-relapse mortality (UCB 32% vs Haplo PT Cy 20% vs 31%; p=0.514), relapse-related mortality (RRM) (UCB 24% vs Haplo PT Cy 21% vs 16%; p=0.596) and grades 3 - 4 acute GVHD at 6 months (UCB 9% vs Haplo PT Cy 6% vs 10%; p=0.758) were not significantly different among the 3 groups. However, C.I. of chronic GVHD at 2 years was higher in PTCy as compared with others (Haplo PT Cy 28% vs UCB 4% and Haplo TCD 5%, respectively, P Conclusions: Haploidentical HCT using either unmanipulated graft and PTCy or selective Ex Vivo TCRαβ and CD45RA+ depleted graft results in equivalent outcome to those HCT performed using UCB. Objective Revised diagnostic criteria for idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) were proposed in part to reduce misdiagnosis of intracranial hypertension without papilledema (WOP) by using 3 or 4 MRI features of intracranial hypertension when a sixth nerve palsy is absent. This study was undertaken to evaluate the sensitivity and specificity of the MRI criteria and to validate their utility for diagnosing IIH in patients with chronic headaches and elevated opening pressure (CH + EOP), but WOP. Methods Brain MRIs from 80 patients with IIH with papilledema (WP), 33 patients with CH + EOP, and 70 control patients with infrequent episodic migraine were assessed in a masked fashion for MRI features of intracranial hypertension. Results Reduced pituitary gland height was moderately sensitive for IIH WP (80%) but had low specificity (64%). Increased optic nerve sheath diameter was less sensitive (51%) and only moderately specific (83%). Flattening of the posterior globe was highly specific (97%) but had low sensitivity (57%). Transverse venous sinus stenosis was moderately sensitive for IIH WP (78%) but of undetermined specificity. A combination of any 3 of 4 MRI features was nearly 100% specific, while maintaining a sensitivity of 64%. Of patients with CH + EOP, 30% had 3 or more MRI features, suggesting IIH WOP in those patients. Conclusion A combination of any 3 of 4 MRI features is highly specific for intracranial hypertension and suggests IIH WOP when present in patients with chronic headache and no papilledema.

The point of the micro-grid distributed power's control is grid-connected inverter. The flexible grid-connection control technology provided an optimizing control method between distributed power and micro-grid and between micro-grid and power system. The flexible grid-connection control strategy includes flexible grid-connection control and flexible islanding control. The flexible grid-connection control achieves the good performance by means of regulation of the active and reactive power of micro-grid, while inhibiting the impact of impulse current, smooth power output, forecasting load and micro-grid power capacity. Based on the flexible grid-connection technology research of distributed power in micro-grid, the flexible master-slave method was presented based on PQ control, and the balance of power and the flexible control in micro-grid has been reached by it. The emulation and experiment results verify that the flexible master-slave method is effective; the balance of power, the flexible control when micro-grid is in islanding mode has been reached; the feasibility of the flexible master-slave method to stabilize the system was showed.

Based on the fact that there is a good amplitude correlation between neighbour bins of a communication signal, we presented a new blind source separation method applied to the wireless communication. Since there is no complicated mathematic derivation in this method, it is relatively simple in theory. Furthermore, wavelet de-noising processing is proposed finally. It yields good results in the experiment and improves the performance of BSS system applied to the wireless communication. In addition, this method is robust and time saving.

Controlled and alternating induction magnetic field generation device which induces plant seeds to breed on floor space has been developed. The incentive ferrite induction coil is used in the device to produce induced magnetic field. The common AC-DC-AC topology was adopted for the variable frequency power supply, and AC power inverter circuit adopts SPWM inverter frequency modulation and voltage regulation mode, realizing the sinusoidal VVF. In order to improve the conversion efficiency of system electrical energy to magnetic energy, the RLC series resonant circuit is chosen in the circuit of output magnetic field. Measurement and control system using DSP microcomputer measurement and control technology and digital PID control method. The frequency and intensity of inductive magnetic field in the air gap changes as the changes of current intensity in coils. The experimental study of rice seeds shows that test result is obviously better than traditional biological magnetization induced breeding technique of fixed magnetic poles.
