Objective To investigate the effects of Erector Spinae Plane Block (ESPB) and Retrolaminar Block (RLB) on intra- and postoperative analgesia in patients with Multiple Rib Fractures (MRFs). Methods A total of 80 MRFs patients were randomly divided into the ESPB (Group E) and RLB (Group R) groups. After general anesthesia, ESPB and RLB were performed under ultrasound guidance, respectively, together with 20 mL of 0.5% ropivacaine and Patient-Controlled Intravenous Analgesia (PCIA). Results Thirty-four cases in Group E and 33,cases in Group R showed unclear paravertebral spaces. The intraoperative dosage of remifentanil (mean ± SD) (392.8 ± 118.7 vs. 501.7 ± 190.0 μg) and postoperative morphine PCIA dosage, (7.35 ± 1.55 vs. 14.73 ± 2.18 mg) in Group R were significantly less than those in Group E; the Visual Analog Scale (VAS) scores in Group R at 2 (2.7 ± 1.2 vs. 3.4 ± 1.4), 4 (2.2 ± 1.1 vs. 2.8 ± 0.9), 12 (2.5 ± 0.9 vs. 3.0 ± 0.8), and 24 hours (2.6 ± 1.0 vs. 3.1 ± 0.9) after surgery were significantly lower than those in Group E. Finally, the normal respiratory diaphragm activity (2.17 ± 0.22 vs. 2.05 ± 0.19), pH (median [IQR] (7.38 [7.31–7.45] vs. 7.36 [7.30–7.42]), and partial pressure of carbon dioxide (PaCO2) (44 [35–49] vs. 42.5 [30–46]) after the operation in Group R were significantly better than those in Group E (p Conclusions RLB was a more effective analgesic method than ESPB in the treatment of MRF.

This study aims to evaluate the predictive value of the prognostic nutritional index (PNI) and albumin-bilirubin grade (ALBI) for the postoperative prognosis of hepatitis B virus-associated hepatocellular carcinoma (HBV-HCC) patients undergoing radical hepatectomy (RH). Besides, we seek to identify novel prognosis indicators for HBV-HCC patients. Between April 2009 and March 2015, this work enrolled 868 patients diagnosed with HBV-HCC and undergoing RH in the Liver Surgery Department, West China Hospital, Sichuan University (WCHSU). The basic information, laboratory examination indicators, pathological reports, and follow-up data of patients were included. SPSS 22.0 statistical software was used for statistical data analyses. Platelet (PLT), alpha-fetoprotein (AFP), maximum diameter (max-D), number of tumors (Number), degree of differentiation (DD), Microvascular invasion situation (MVI), satellite focus situation (SF), PNI, and ALBI were the independent risk factors for both overall survival (OS) and disease-free survival (DFS) of HBV-HCC patients undergoing RH. Taking PNI = 46 and ALBI = − 2.80 as cut-off values, the OS and DFS of the PNI-high group were significantly higher than those of the PNI-low group. Meanwhile, the OS and DFS of the ALBI-low group were significantly higher than those of the ALBI-high group; the OS and DFS of the PNI-high + ALBI-low group were significantly higher than those of the PNI-low + ALBI-high group. Xie prognostic index (XPI) was the independent risk factor for both OS and DFS of HBV-HCC patients undergoing RH. The OS and DFS of the XPI-high group were significantly higher than those of the XPI-low group. This paper reveals that preoperative PNI and ALBI can predict the OS and DFS of HBV-HCC patients undergoing RH. Their impact on the prognosis of HBV-HCC patients is insignificant, however, it cannot be ignored. XPI can precisely predict the prognosis of HBV-HCC patients undergoing RH, nonetheless, its effect requires additional research for validation.

Social behaviour requires the brain to efficiently integrate multiple social processes, but it is not clear what neural substrates underlie general social behaviour. While psychosis patients and individuals with subclinical symptoms are characterized by social dysfunction, the neural mechanisms underlying social dysfunctions in schizophrenia spectrum disorders remains unclear. We first constructed a general social brain network (SBN) using resting-state functional connectivity (FC) with regions of interest based on the automatic meta-analysis results from NeuroSynth. We then examined the general SBN and its relationship with social network (SN) characteristics in 30 individuals with schizophrenia (SCZ) and 33 individuals with social anhedonia (SA). We found that patients with SCZ exhibited deficits in their SN, while SA individuals did not. SCZ patients showed decreased segregation and functional connectivity in their SBN, while SA individuals showed a reversed pattern with increased segregation and functional connectivity of their SBN. Sparse canonical correlation analysis showed that both SCZ patients and SA individuals exhibited reduced correlation between SBN and SN characteristics compared with their corresponding healthy control groups. These preliminary findings suggest that both SCZ and SA participants exhibit abnormality in segregation and functional connectivity within the general SBN and reduced correlation with SN characteristics. These findings could guide the development of non-pharmacological interventions for social dysfunction in SCZ spectrum disorders.

Background Cognitive dysfunction is a functional disorder that occurs after brain tissue damage, which can be classified as mild, moderate, or severe according to the degree of illness, especially in the elderly. Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) has many causes and is difficult to treat. It has been reported that biopsychosocial holistic care models can achieve good results in treating MCI. This study aimed to explore the application effect of biopsychosocial holistic care models on elderly patients with MCI. Methods A total of 140 patients with MCI diagnosed in Nantong People's Hospital (Nantong, China) from March 2019 to March 2020 were selected as the research cohort. Using a computer-generated randomization list, the participants were randomly allocated to either the observation group or control group, with 70 cases in each group. We compared the cognitive function and quality of life scores of the 2 groups before treatment, 1 month after treatment, and 3 months after treatment. Results In the first and third months after the intervention, the mini mental state examination (MMSE) score and Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) score of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and activities of daily living (ADL) score was lower than that of the control group. The difference between MMSE and MoCA scores between the 2 groups of participants at the third month of treatment was statistically significant (P=0.000). Conclusions Biopsychosocial holistic care models can improve the cognitive function and quality of life of elderly MCI patients. Trial registration Chinese Clinical Trial Registry ChiCTR2100046021.

Introduction:: The ongoing pandemic of Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS COV-2) has jeopardized people’s health and the global economy. The infection caused by these viruses inflicts immunosuppression and an unprecedented range of symptoms leading to mortality. At this stage, there are no countermeasures or medicines to overcome rapid disease proliferation and aberrant immunological response. Objectives:: The study aims to determine different immunomodulatory therapeutics that could be potential agents to alleviate viral and other lethal infections and possibly rejuvenate immunological and tissue repair response against this disease. Methods:: A review of the literature was performed by screening different scientific databases to procure various immunomodulatory therapies for the treatment of SAR COV-2. Results:: A comprehensive literature review indicated that different foods rich in vitamins (A-D), selenium and iron can enhance immunological response against various deleterious infections, whereas different nutritious drinks that include hydrogen-enriched water and green tea alleviate inflammation and elicit wound healing properties. Black cumin seeds and Garlic have a myriad of biological activities due to abundant bioactive phytochemicals that play an important role in the elimination of various bacterial and viral infections. Conclusion:: These foods/supplements are relatively safe to consume and possess high toxicity profile and could be a potential nutritional intervention in order to create adequate immunity within a population to fight against this prevailing infection.

Background To investigate the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms (rs10078761, rs12696304, rs2853669, rs16847897, rs2736100, rs10069690) of telomerase gene (TERT) and the risk clinical benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) in a Chinese Han population of the Northwest region. Methods A total of 150 BPH patients and 150 healthy older males from the northwest Chinese Han population were included in this study. The sample size for this unmatched case-control study was estimated by the look-up table method. Meanwhile, the general information and disease data of patients were collected. Age was only collected in healthy control subjects for statistical correction. Genotypes were detected using a multiplex PCR + ligase detection reaction (LDR). Typing results and clinical data were statistically analyzed using multiple linear regression and logistic regression. Pearson correlation was used for Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. Results The included population is in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. There was no significant association between SNP and the risk of BPH by correlation analysis. However, 4 haplotypes (TCTGGT, TCTGTC, TGCCTC, and TGTGTC) were identified as risk factors of BPH by haplotype analysis. The SNP rs2853669 is an independent risk factor for smooth muscle type of hyperplasia. Besides, rs2736100, rs10078761, and rs10069690 which are in linkage disequilibrium are associated with the severity of BPH. Conclusions Polymorphism of the TERT gene determines the different disease development and pathological manifestations of BPH in the Chinese Han population the Northwest region.

Background:. Vasovagal syncope (VVS) greatly impairs quality of life. The therapeutic efficacy of oral rehydration saline (ORS) for unselected VVS patients is not satisfactory due to the diverse mechanisms of the disease. Body mass index (BMI) was demonstrated to reflect blood volume to a certain extent. Therefore, the present study explored the capability of BMI to predict the therapeutic response of children with VVS to ORS treatment. Methods:. Seventy-four children with VVS who visited the Syncope Unit of Pediatrics at Peking University First Hospital from November 2010 to June 2019 receiving ORS treatment were enrolled for this retrospective case-control study. A comparison of demographic, clinical, and hemodynamic characteristics was performed between responders and non-responders. The correlation between baseline BMI and response time was analyzed. To determine the value of baseline BMI in predicting the therapeutic efficacy of ORS in children with VVS, a receiver operating characteristic curve analysis was performed. Results:. Fifty-two children were identified as responders, and the remaining 22 children were identified as non-responders. BACKGROUND Stroke refers to a group of cerebrovascular diseases associated with organic brain injury. It is characterized by the sudden and rapid onset of focal or diffuse dysfunction. In recent years, in addition to routine treatment, Chinese medicine acupuncture has been administered to patients with hemiplegia, and it can be considered a new treatment for rehabilitation. AIM To investigate the effects of eye acupuncture needle retention and body acupuncture combined with routine rehabilitation on gait performance and plantar pressure in patients recovering from stroke. METHODS Thirty-two stroke patients who met the inclusion criteria were randomly divided into an experimental group and a control group, with 16 patients in each group. Both groups underwent routine rehabilitation. The experimental group was treated by eye acupuncture needle retention, and the control group was treated by body acupuncture. Before and after 4 wk of treatment, both groups underwent kinematic and plantar pressure synchronous tests to assess gait performance. RESULTS The step length, gait speed, step frequency, joint angles of the lower limbs, and ground reaction force impulse in the anterior region of the affected foot in both groups significantly increased from before to after treatment (P < 0.05); the center of mass displacement, peak pressure values, and impulse in the anterior region of the healthy foot and posterior regions of both the affected and healthy feet significantly decreased from before to after treatment (P < 0.05). The patients in the experimental group showed greater improvement in the following parameters than the control group: Step length, gait speed, step frequency, lower extremity joint angles, center of gravity displacement, and peak pressure values and impulse in the anterior and posterior regions of both the affected and healthy feet (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION Eye acupuncture needle retention and body acupuncture combined with routine rehabilitation can effectively improve the gait performance of patients recovering from stroke. Between these two treatments, eye acupuncture needle retention combined with routine treatment is better than body acupuncture, and it can be considered a practical and effective clinical treatment.

Background Although FOXO3a can inhibit the cell proliferation of prostate cancer, its relationship with reactive oxygen species (ROS) in prostate cancer (PCa) has not been reported. Methods We analyzed the correlation between the expression of FOXO3a and the antioxidant enzyme catalase in prostate cancer with the TCGA and GEPIA databases. We also constructed a PPI network of FOXO3a via the STRING database. The mRNA and protein expression of FOXO3a and catalase were detected by qRT-PCR or western blotting in LNCaP and 22RV1 cells treated with DHT, R1881, or Enzalutamide. The effects of FOXO3a on catalase expression were tested by over-expressing or knocking down FOXO3a in LNCaP cells. Furthermore, the catalase activity and ROS level were detected in LNCaP cells treated with DHT. Cell proliferation and ROS were also analyzed in LNCaP which was treated with antioxidant. Results Results showed that the catalase expression was down-regulated in prostate cancer. A positive correlation between FOXO3a and catalase existed. DHT treatment could significantly reduce FOXO3a and catalase expression at mRNA and protein level in LNCaP cells. Catalase expression partly depended on FOXO3a as over-expression and knockdown of FOXO3a could result in the expresssion change of catalase. DHT treatment was found to inhibit catalase activity and increase ROS level in prostate cancer cell. Our study also demonstrated that antioxidant treatment reduced DHT-induced proliferation and ROS production in prostate cancer cell. Conclusions We discovered a novel mechanism by which DHT promotes prostate cancer cell proliferation via suppressing catalase activity and activating ROS signaling via a FOXO3a dependent manner.

Patients in both groups were asked to perform a stretching exercise of the quadriceps daily after needling. The needling group received a single session of TrP-DN to trigger points (TrPs) in the vastus medialis oblique (VMO), vastus lateralis (VL), and rectus femoris muscles (once a week for 6 weeks), and the Sham group received placebo needling. Visual analogue scale (VAS) for pain intensity and Kujala questionnaire for the functional status were assessed before treatment, 3 and 6 weeks after treatment, and at the 3-month follow-up. The ratio of the myoelectric amplitude of the vastus medialis oblique and vastus lateralis muscles (VMO/VL) was assessed before treatment and 6 weeks after treatment.Results: There was no significant difference in the general data between the two groups. The VAS scores and Kujala scores in the TrP-DN group were significantly improved and increased at the 3-week treatment visit, 6-week treatment visit, and 3-month follow-up compared to the scores before treatment; and the scores in the Sham group were only significantly improved at the 3-week treatment visit, and 6-week treatment visit. VAS scores in the TrP-DN group were significantly lower and Kujala scores were significantly higher at the 6-week treatment visit and the 3-month follow-up compared to those in the Sham group. The VMO/VL ratio in the TrP-DN group was significantly increased at the 6-week treatment visit compared to that before treatment.Conclusion: TrP-DN at the quadriceps combined with stretch can reduce the pain, and improves the clinical symptoms and function, the VMO/VL ratio, and the coordination of VMO and VL in patients with PFPS.Keywords: patellofemoral pain syndrome, myofascial trigger points, stretching

With the large-scale wind power, centralised access to high-voltage direct current (HVDC) asynchronous interconnected sending system, the random fluctuation of wind energy increases the uncertainty of frequency regulation. A frequency coordinated control (FCC) strategy based on situation awareness is proposed to make full use of the frequency regulation potential of wind turbines and HVDC transmission. Firstly, the influence of wind power permeability and HVDC power ratio on frequency regulation capability is analysed, and the mathematical model of FCC is established. Secondly, based on the information of FCC obtained by wide-area measurement system and data acquisition system, a non-linear mathematical prediction model is constructed, and the frequency response in finite time domain is predicted according to the frequency deviation and its change rate. According to the results of the prediction, the parameters of FCC are dynamically adjusted to realise the whole process variable objective optimal control on the time scale of primary frequency regulation. Finally, the simulation results show that the maximum frequency deviation of the proposed control method is reduced by about 46.6% and the frequency callback time is reduced by about 11.6% compared with the traditional control method with fixed parameters under the same disturbance.

A series of oil in water (O/W) microemulsions were prepared through drop by drop method at constant temperature, taking Span80/Tween80 as a composite emulsifying system and Macol-52 as oil phase. Effects of the mass ratio of composite emulsifying system and oil/emulsifier ratio on the particle size were studied. Finally, the best technological conditions were selected and the stability of the microemulsion was also researched. Results showed that the most suitable Span80/Tween80 mass ratio was 1:1 and the oil/emulsifier ratio is 1:1. Under this condition, the mean particle size of the o/w microemulsion was 71.1 nm and the polydispersity index was 0.151. Moreover, the microemulsion maintain a bright and uniform stable system after 20minutes’ centrifugation at the speed of 4000r/min and the particle size increased slightly.

Graphical abstract, Zinc as a biomarker can be used to diagnose the early stage prostate cancer, while ZIP1 protein, a zinc transporter is significantly down-regulated in prostate cancer cells. This behavior leads to the apparent alteration of the enrichment ability for zinc between early prostate cancer tissues and healthy tissues. This difference inspires us to develop a novel Zn2+ sensor that applies to the clinic diagnosis of early prostate cancer. We designed a tetrapeptide sensor H2L (Dansyl-Gly-Pro-Trp-Gly-NH2) according to the photo-induced electron transfer principle (PET), and it performed adequately in Zn2+ imaging of prostate cell lines. Based on the assessment of Zn2+ enrichment ability, there was distinctly lower Zn2+ concentrate in prostate cancer cell lines than healthy prostate epithelial cells. Furthermore, H2L displayed high sensitivity with a detection limit as low as 49.5 nM, and high specificity for Zn2+ detection. Also the low toxicity and the superior cell permeability of H2L made the imaging of Zn2+ ions detection safe and rapid. We expect that H2L to be a powerful tool for early diagnosis of prostate cancer and a good indicator for the precise resection of cancer tissue during surgery.

PurposeThis paper extends the current understanding of the retrenchment-–turnaround relationship in declined companies by introducing a compensation gap view. It argues that the effectiveness of the retrenchment strategy is contingent on reducing the executive-employee compensation gap in the turnaround process.Design/methodology/approachDrawing from a two-stage turnaround model and insights from the literature on executive-employee compensation gap, we develop and test a theoretical model that explains how five attributes, which refer to executive-employee compensation gap, asset retrenchment, cost retrenchment, ownership and size, affect the outcome of the organizational turnaround. This paper uses the fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) method and based on the samples of 112 listed companies that experience the decline between 2005 and 2013.FindingsThis paper concludes two valid causal paths and finds that small companies with small executive-employee compensation gap have a higher likelihood of successful turnaround when they implement cost or asset retrenchment actions. As for large state-owned companies, they should reduce the costs and maintain a small executive-employee compensation gap. An excessive compensation gap can be problematic, which could impair the organizational ability to cope with adversity and decline.Research limitations/implicationsFirst, this paper taps the vital role of employees in the turnaround process besides the mainstream “organizational decline-layoffs” logic, which hints a new human resource management strategy when organizations are facing decline. Second, this paper reveals the theoretical linkage between pay dispersion, internal stakeholder and organizational resilience. Third, as a methodological contribution, we introduce fsQCA, overcoming the shortcomings of turnaround strategy research with case and regression analysis and breaking through the paradigm of “specific factor-turnaround.”Practical implicationsOrganizational turnaround is a systematic process that constitutes multiple factors together. When organizations take the asset retrenchment to stop bleeding, reducing the executive-employee compensation gap will help enhance employee's cognition of organizational values and strategic goals, eliminate feelings of exploitation in retrenchment implementation and thus effectively promote turnaround. This paper also provides a basis for executive compensation restrictions and re-examines pay dispersion and economic inequality.Originality/valueThis study sheds some light on the importance of the executive-employee compensation gap in retrenchment strategy and contributes to both organizational turnaround and pay dispersion theories. Also, it reveals the theoretical linkage between internal stakeholders, organizational resilience and long-term orientation.

Background. About 10% of patients get a surgical-site infection (SSI) after radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer, but SSI remains controversial among surgeons. The aim of this study was to explore the risk factors for SSIs after radical gastrectomy in patients with gastric cancer to guide clinical therapies and reduce the incidence of SSI. Methods. The study was a retrospective cohort study in patients who underwent radical gastrectomy for gastric cancer. SSI was defined in accordance with the National Nosocomial Infection Surveillance System. We evaluated patient-related and peri-operative variables that could be risk factors for SSIs. The Chi-squared test and logistic regression analysis were used to assess the association between these risk factors and SSI. Results. Among the 590 patients, 386 were men and 204 were women. The mean age was 56.6 (28–82) years and 14.2% (84/590) of these patients had an SSI. Among them, incisional SSI was observed in 23 patients (3.9%) and organ/space SSI in 61 patients (10.3%). Multivariate logistic regression analysis identified sex (odds ratios [ORs] = 2.548, and 95% confidence interval [CI]: 1.268–5.122, P = 0.009), total gastrectomy (OR = 2.327, 95% CI: 1.352–4.004, P = 0.002), albumin level (day 3 after surgery)

Under the influence of the action mechanism of the enterprise innovation atmosphere, a technological innovation ability has become the first choice for Chinese start-ups to improve their performance and upgrade their transformation. By collecting the survey data of 223 Chinese start-ups, this article uses the method of multiple hierarchical regression to explore the relationship between technological innovation ability, innovation atmosphere, and innovation performance. The results show that the technological innovation ability has a significantly positive influence on the innovation performance of the surveyed start-ups. At the same time, resource development ability, marketing ability, and learning ability all have significant positive effects on innovation performance. The innovation atmosphere is positively regulating the relationship between resource development capabilities, learning capabilities and innovation performance. The atmosphere of innovation negatively regulates the relationship between market capacity and innovation performance.

At present, natural orifice specimen extraction surgery (NOSES) has attracted more and more attention worldwide, because of its great advantages including minimal cutaneous trauma and post-operative pain, fast post-operative recovery, short hospital stay, and positive psychological impact. However, NOSES for the treatment of gastric cancer (GC) is still in its infancy, and there is great potential to improve its theoretical system and clinical practice. Especially, several key points including oncological outcomes, bacteriological concerns, indication selection, and standardized surgical procedures are raised with this innovative technique. Therefore, it is necessary to achieve an international consensus to regulate the implementation of GC-NOSES, which is of great significance for healthy and orderly development of NOSES worldwide.

The hybrid HVDC with cascaded multi-infeed MMC inverters is proposed in recent years and it will be put into reality in near future. But the control characteristic of this hybrid HVDC have not been discussed in details. This paper investigates the control strategy characteristic of the hybrid HVDC using cascaded multi-infeed MMC inverters. By combining the UI curves (the DC voltage and DC current curves) of LCC rectifiers, LCC inverter and MMC inverters, the complete UI curves of the hybrid HVDC are obtained in different control modes. Through the complete UI curve, the characteristic of the control strategy is investigated in different operation situations. It is found that the MMC inverter in DC voltage control could shift to the rectifying mode if the fault occurs or active power orders are intensively changed. To solve such problem, the coordinated control strategy based on the dynamic limiter, diodes and LCC-MMC active orders is proposed in this paper, which can not only prevent the MMC inverter from becoming a rectifier at DC side but also can improve the AC side voltage stability. Nevertheless, the proposed strategy can further endow the MMC with fault ride through abilities. The simulations in PSCAD software verify the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed control strategy.

Hubs in the brain network are the regions with high centrality and are crucial in the network communication and information integration. Patients with schizophrenia (SCZ) exhibit wide range of abnormality in the hub regions and their connected functional connectivity (FC) at the whole-brain network level. Study of the hubs in the brain networks supporting complex social behavior (social brain network, SBN) would contribute to understand the social dysfunction in patients with SCZ. Forty-nine patients with SCZ and 27 healthy controls (HC) were recruited to undertake the resting-state magnetic resonance imaging scanning and completed a social network (SN) questionnaire. The resting-state SBN was constructed based on the automatic analysis results from the NeuroSynth. Our results showed that the left temporal lobe was the only hub of SBN, and its connected FCs strength was higher than the remaining FCs in both two groups. SCZ patients showed the lower association between the hub-connected FCs (compared to the FCs not connected to the hub regions) with the real-life SN characteristics. These results were replicated in another independent sample (30 SCZ and 28 HC). These preliminary findings suggested that the hub-connected FCs of SBN in SCZ patients exhibit the abnormality in predicting real-life SN characteristics.

Background Urinary catheter placement is essential before laparoscopic anterior resection for rectal cancer. Whether early removal of the catheter increases the incidence of urinary retention and urinary tract infection (UTI) is not clear. This study aims to determine the optimal time for removal of the urinary catheter after laparoscopic anterior resection of the rectum. Methods/design A total of 220 participants meeting the inclusion criteria will be randomly assigned to an experimental group or a control group. The experimental group will have their urethral catheters removed on postoperative day 2 and the control group will have their urethral catheters removed on postoperative day 7. In both groups, catheter removal will be performed when the bladder is full. The incidence of urinary retention and UTI in the two groups will be compared to determine the optimal catheter removal time. Discussion This is a prospective, single-center, randomized controlled trial to determine whether early removal of the urinary catheter after laparoscopic anterior resection of the rectum will help to decrease the incidence of postoperative acute urinary retention and UTI. A series of studies are dedicated to research the clinical outcomes of oral leukoplakia (OLK) treated with carbon dioxide laser (CO2 laser); however, the results vary from studies especially related to recurrence and malignant transformation. Hence, we performed this meta-analysis to precisely evaluate the malignant transformation of OLK dealt with CO2 laser and investigate the association between its malignant transformation and kinds of related risk factors, such as gender, clinical classification, long duration of leukoplakia, and degree of epithelial dysplasia and lesion regions. We performed a systematic search of the Cochrane Library, EMBASE, Pubmed, Web of Science, and SCOPUS. Single-arm rate of the overall risk of malignant transformation in OLK treated with CO2 laser was calculated using the Der-Simonian Liard method. We applied subgroup analysis to compare the risk of malignant transformation according to the degree of epithelial dysplasia, clinical type, and region of OLK. Moreover, a pooled odds ratio (OR) is calculated, along with its 95% confidence interval (CI), to compare the risk of malignant transformation according to patients' gender, tobacco, and alcohol consumption. We used the meta package of R software for quantitative data synthesis and analysis. The rate of malignant transformation of OLK treated with carbon dioxide laser ranged from 0 to 15.38% in included studies. The overall rate of malignant transformation of OLK treated with CO2 laser is 4.50% under the random effect model [95% CI 0.0305-0.0659]. A systematic review of observational studies of OLK reported that the estimated overall (mean) malignant transformation rate was 3.5%, with a wide range between 0.13 and 34.0%. Interestingly, our result revealed that it was the male, homogeneous type, no tobacco consumption, and without alcohol-use who had a higher tendency of malignancy after laser surgery. However, this result lack statistically significant data. Generally speaking, whether oral leukoplakia patients underwent laser surgical treatment or not, it may have little effect on malignant transformation. In addition, we strongly advise that it had better not to perform CO2 laser intervention on OLK patients with the following clinical characteristics: homogeneous type, male, no tobacco consumption, and without alcohol-use. Evidence is still lacking in terms of relationship between malignant transformation and risk factors among OLK patients managed with CO2 laser. Thus, these associations should be further investigated.

EphA2 is a key factor underlying invasive propensity of gliomas, and is associated with poor prognosis of tumors. We aimed to develop a radiomics-based imaging index for predicting EphA2 expression in diffuse gliomas, and further estimating its value for grading of tumors. A total of 182 patients with diffuse gliomas were included. All subjects underwent pre-operative MRI and post-operative pathological diagnosis. EphA2 expression of tumors was scored on pathological sections with immunohistochemical staining using monoclonal EphA2 antibody. MRI radiomics features were extracted from three-dimensional contrast-enhanced T1-weighted imaging and diffusion kurtosis imaging. Predictive models were constructed using machine learning–based radiomics features selection and three classifiers for predicting EphA2 expression and tumor grade. Features of best EphA2 expression model were subsequently used to construct another model of tumor grading. For each model, 146 cases (80%) were randomly picked as training and the rest 36 (20%) were testing cohorts. EphA2 expression was further correlated to the radiomics features in both grade models using Spearman’s correlation. Logistic regression model presented highest performance for predicting EphA2 expression (AUC: 0.836/0.724 in training/validation set). Tumor gradings model guided by features from EphA2 expression model demonstrated comparable performance (AUC: 0.930/0.983) to that constructed directly using imaging radiomics features (AUC: 0.960/0.977). PurposeTo explore the association between constitution types as defined by traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and risk for normal-tension glaucoma (NTG).DesignPopulation-based cohort study.MethodsPersons were identified in a population cohort aged ≥30 years with NTG, defined as having an untreated mean intraocular pressure measurement ≤21 mm Hg over six separate occasions, with no single reading >24 mm Hg (as in the Collaborative Normal Tension Glaucoma Study). The Body Constitution in Traditional Chinese Medicine Questionnaire was used to assess each participant’s TCM constitution types. The association between various constitutions and visual field progression according to Early Manifest Glaucoma Trial criteria was assessed using Cox regression HR models.ResultsAmong 142 participants (245 eyes), 23 persons (17.6%) and 25 eyes (10.2%) progressed, over a mean (SD) follow-up duration of 3.49 (0.99) years. Progression rates were highest in participants with Yang-deficient constitution (n=19, 13.4%), among whom 7 (36.8%) exhibited worsening fields. After adjusting for sex, age, central corneal thickness, retinal nerve fibre layer thickness and mean deviation on visual field testing, Yang-deficient constitution (HR 4.63, 95% CI 1.77 to 12.1, p=0.002) and higher mean intraocular pressure during follow-up (HR 1.25, 95% CI 1.01 to 1.56, p=0.044) were associated with field progression.ConclusionsYang-deficient constitution and higher intraocular pressure are risk factors for visual field progression in NTG patients. Yang deficiency is characterised by abnormal vasoregulation, and these results may be consistent with prior studies linking NTG progression to Raynaud’s phenomenon and migraine.

Drug abuse is a dramatic challenge for the whole society because of high relapse rate. Environmental cues are crucial for the preference memory of drug abuse. Extinction therapy has been developed to inhibit the motivational effect of drug cues to prevent the reinstatement of morphine abuse. However, extinction therapy alone only forms a new kind of unstable inhibitory memory. We found that morphine conditioned place preference (CPP) extinction training increased the association of nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) with its carboxy-terminal PDZ ligand (CAPON) in the dorsal hippocampus (dHPC) significantly and blocking the morphine-induced nNOS–CAPON association using Tat-CAPON-12C during and after extinction training reversed morphine-induced hippocampal neuroplasticity defect and prevented the reinstatement and spontaneous recovery of morphine CPP. Moreover, in the hippocampal selective ERK2 knock-out or nNOS knockout mice, the effect of Tat-CAPON-12C on the reinstatement of morphine CPP and hippocampal neuroplasticity disappeared, suggesting ERK2 is necessary for the effects of Tat-CAPON-12C. Together, our findings suggest that nNOS–CAPON interaction in the dHPC may affect the consolidation of morphine CPP extinction and dissociating nNOS–CAPON prevents the reinstatement and spontaneous recovery of morphine CPP, possibly through ERK2-mediated neuroplasticity and extinction memory consolidation, offering a new target to prevent the reinstatement of drug abuse.

Defect detection in images is a challenging task due to the existence of tiny and noisy patterns on surface images. To tackle this challenge, a defect detection approach is proposed in this paper using statistical data fusion. First, the proposed approach breaks a large image that contains multiple separate defects into smaller overlapping patches to detect the existence of defects in each patch, using the conventional convolutional neural network approach. Then, a statistical data fusion approach is proposed to maintain the spatial coherence of cracks in the image and aggregate the information extracted from overlapping patches to enhance the overall performance and robustness of the system. The proposed approach is evaluated using three benchmark datasets to demonstrate its superior performance in terms of both individual patch inspection and the whole image inspection.

Glaciers are the source of fresh water that have obvious response on climate change. It is crucial and meaningful to monitor glacier area. In this paper, a glacier detection method based on features derived from low-resolution optical data, thermal data and TerraSAR-X images is proposed. The Land Surface Temperature (LST) was firstly obtained by Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). Combined with the velocity information, a low-resolution binary mask was derived for the supervised classification of SAR imagery. Afterwards, a set of suitable features was derived from the SAR intensity image, such as texture information generated based on the gray level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM), and intensity values. With these features above, the glaciers were classified by Random Forest (RF) to distinguish the glacier from the non-glacier areas. Compared to the unsupervised classification only using SAR data, the glacier detection method proposed in this paper achieved a better performance with the overall classification accuracy of 90.88%.

Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a complex and serious disease as its multifaceted pathophysiological mechanisms remain vague. The molecular changes of hippocampal and cortical dysfunction in the process of TBI are poorly understood, especially their chronic effects on metabolic profiles. Here we utilize metabolomics-based liquid chromatography coupled with tandem mass spectrometry coupled with bioinformatics method to assess the perturbation of brain metabolism in rat hippocampus and cortex on day 7. The results revealed a signature panel which consisted of 13 identified metabolites to facilitate targeted interventions for subacute TBI discrimination. Purine metabolism change in cortical tissue and taurine and hypotaurine metabolism change in hippocampal tissue were detected. Furthermore, the associations between the metabolite markers and the perturbed pathways were analyzed based on databases: 64 enzyme and one pathway were evolved in TBI. The findings represented significant profiling changes and provided unique metabolite-protein information in a rat model of TBI following the subacute phase. This study may inspire scientists and doctors to further their studies and provide potential therapy targets for clinical interventions.

To explore the value of various diffusion parameters obtained from monoexponential, biexponential, and stretched exponential in assessing liver fibrosis in chronic hepatitis B (CHB). DWI and intravoxel incoherent motion (IVIM) MRI were performed prospectively on liver for 146 patients with CHB and 21 healthy volunteers. ADC values were obtained from monoexponential model imaging. Diffusion coefficient (D), pseudodiffusion coefficient (D*), and perfusion fraction (f) obtained by biexponential model imaging, and stretched exponential model to obtain diffusion distribution coefficient (DDC) and diffusion heterogeneity index (α). Blood draw were performed on patients to obtain AST, ALT, and PLT, and then APRI and FIB-4 index were determined based on the serological diagnostic models. The fibrosis stage was staged (S0–S4) according to the pathology of liver puncture. Independent sample t test was used to compare the parameter values between liver fibrosis group and control group. One-way ANOVA was used to compare the parameters of different liver fibrosis grades. Bonferroni test was used for correcting multiple comparisons. Spearman correlation was used to analyze the correlation between each parameter and liver fibrosis grades. ROC was used to predict the diagnostic power of each parameter for liver fibrosis stages ≥ S2 and ≥ S3. Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a life-threatening chronic illness. CVD risk may be influenced by environment and lifestyle. People in northern China usually consume high-fat, high-salt diets and alcohol and live in a cold climate over long periods. However, there are limited studies on CVD risk among people in northern China. In the present study, we sought to estimate the CVD risk profile among residents of northern China. Using the Programme of Screening and Intervention Subjects with High Risk Cardiovascular Diseases, we collected data from residents in six cities from September 2015 to June 2017. In total, 56,716 participants aged 40 years and above were finally included in the CVD risk assessment. To assess the 10-year risk of CVD among participants, we used World Health Organisation/International Society of Hypertension risk prediction charts. Among the study participants, 22.7% had a high 10-year risk of CVD. We identified differences in the 10-year CVD risk according to sex, socioeconomic status, and marital status. We conclude that individuals with high socioeconomic status should be encouraged to change their lifestyle habits, and greater medical resources should be invested for individuals residing in rural areas and those with low education levels.

Background: The argument on the clinical effects of previous anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction on total knee arthroplasty (TKA) remains to be resolved. The aim of the current study was to compare operative and postoperative outcomes of patients undergoing TKA after ACL reconstruction with a matched cohort of control subjects having primary osteoarthritis and no history of ligament reconstruction. Methods: This study was performed and reported in accordance with the Strengthening the Reporting of Observational studies in Epidemiology checklist. The institutional review board approval of our hospital was obtained for the study. The ACL and control groups were matched 1:1 using a caliper width of 0.1 for the propensity score through nearest neighbor matching. Written informed consent was obtained from all subjects participating in the trial. The primary outcome measure was postoperative complications. Secondary outcome measures included operative time, tourniquet time, intraoperative complications, Oxford Knee Score, range of motion, and Western Ontario and McMaster Universities index. Results: This study had limited inclusion and exclusion criteria and a well-controlled intervention. We hypothesized that prior ACL reconstruction had a negative impact on the operative and postoperative outcomes of TKA. Trial registration: This study protocol was registered in Research Registry (researchregistry5598).

Objectives To compare the long-term efficacy between pulsed radiofrequency (PRF) combined with passive stretching (PRF-PS) exercise and PS exercise alone in reducing pain and improving quadriceps muscle strength and knee function. Methods Sixty-two participants were randomly assigned with a 1:1 allocation to the PRF-PS exercise group or the PS exercise group. Level of pain, muscle strength, and knee function were assessed from baseline to the first, third, and sixth months after treatment using the VAS, peak torque (PT), and the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index (WOMAC), respectively. Results There were no significant differences at baseline between the 2 groups. Compared to exercise alone, participants achieved superior efficacy with PRF-PS in pain relief, improvement of muscle strength, and knee function. Moreover, the improvement of all variables was maintained for a longer period of time in the PRF-PS group. The reduction in participants' VAS pain intensity scores was superior for PRF-PS vs. PS with overall estimation (adjusted mean difference: -1.85 cm; 95% confidence interval [CI] -2.25, -1.45 cm; P = 0.000). The increase in participants' PT scores was superior for PRF-PS vs. PS with overall estimation (adjusted mean difference: 15.53 N. m; 95% CI 7.07, 23.98 N. m; P = 0.000; and 12.62 N. m; 95% CI 0.96, 24.28 N. m; P = 0.000 for PT 60 degrees/s and PT 180 degrees/s, respectively). The reduction in participants' WOMAC scores was superior for PRF-PS vs. PS with overall estimation (adjusted mean difference: -16.43; 95% CI -22.22, -10.64; P = 0.000). Discussion The improvement in pain relief and knee function might be associated with restoration of muscle strength after PRF-PS exercise by overcoming muscle inhibition.

Extremely high relapse rate is the dramatic challenge of drug abuse at present. Environmental cues play an important role in relapse of drug abuse. However, the specific mechanism underlying relapse remains unclear. Using morphine conditioned place preference (CPP) model, we show that association of neuronal nitric oxide synthase (nNOS) with postsynaptic density-95 (PSD-95) plays a significant role in morphine priming-induced reinstatement. The nNOS-PSD-95 coupling and c-Fos expression in the medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) was significantly increased after extinction of morphine CPP. Dissociation of nNOS-PSD-95 in the mPFC by ZL006 inhibited the reinstatement of morphine CPP induced by a priming dose of morphine. Significantly reduced phosphorylation of cAMP-response element binding protein (CREB) in the mPFC was observed in the mice exposed to morphine after the extinction training. Uncoupling nNOS-PSD-95 reversed the morphine-induced CREB dysfunction. Moreover, effects of ZL006 on the reinstatement of morphine CPP and CREB activation depended on nNOS-PSD-95 target. Together, our findings suggest that nNOS-PSD-95 in the mPFC contributes to reinstatement of morphine CPP, possibly through CREB dysfunction, offering a potential target to prevent relapse of drug abuse.

Background Traumatic brain injury (TBI) has increased in rank among traumatic injuries worldwide. Traumatic brain injury is a serious obstacle given that its complex pathology represents a long‐term process. Recently, systems biology strategies such as metabolomics to investigate the multifactorial nature of TBI have facilitated attempts to find biomarkers and probe molecular pathways for its diagnosis and therapy. Methods This study included a group of 20 rats with controlled cortical impact and a group of 20 sham rats. We utilized mNSS tests to investigate neurological metabolic impairments on day 1 and day 3. Furthermore, we applied metabolomics and bioinformatics to determine the metabolic perturbation caused by TBI during the acute period in the hippocampus tissue of controlled cortical impact (CCI) rats. Notably, TBI–protein–metabolite subnetworks identified from a database were assessed for associations between metabolites and TBI by the dysregulation of related enzymes and transporters. Results Our results identified 7 and 8 biomarkers on day 1 and day 3, respectively. Additionally, related pathway disorders showed effects on arginine and proline metabolism as well as taurine and hypotaurine metabolism on day 3 in acute TBI. Furthermore, according to metabolite–protein database searches, 25 metabolite–protein pairs were established as causally associated with TBI. Further, bioinformation indicated that these TBI‐associated proteins mainly take part in 5′‐nucleotidase activity and carboxylic acid transmembrane transport. In addition, interweaved networks were constructed to show that the development of TBI might be affected by metabolite‐related proteins and their protein pathways. Conclusion The overall results show that acute TBI is susceptible to metabolic disorders, and the joint metabolite–protein network analysis provides a favorable prediction of TBI pathogenesis mechanisms in the brain. The signatures in the hippocampus might be promising for the development of biomarkers and pathways relevant to acute TBI and could further guide testable predictions of the underlying mechanism of TBI., Metabolomics was used to reveal the gain a metabolic perturbation of TBI in rats. Background. Fuzheng Huayu recipe (FZHY) is an original Chinese patent medicine which was developed and marketed by our institute. It could markedly improve liver tissue inflammation and ameliorate hepatic fibrosis in the clinical study. The intrahepatic macrophages recruitment and polarization play an important role in the progress of liver inflammation and fibrosis. Whether FZHY exerted its antiliver fibrosis effects through regulating intrahepatic macrophages phenotypic ratios is still unknown. This study aims to explore the antifibrosis mechanism of FZHY on regulating the recruitment and polarization of intrahepatic macrophages. Methods. C57/B6 mice were used for the establishment of the CCl4-induced mice liver fibrosis model. Liver inflammation and fibrosis were evaluated by HE and Sirius red staining, hydroxyproline assays, and biochemical tests. The levels of chemokines and inflammatory cytokines in liver tissue were measured by RNA-Seq transcriptome analysis, western blot assay, RT-qPCR, and immunofluorescence assay. The macrophages recruitment and phenotypic polarization were observed by flow cytometry. Results. FZHY significantly improved liver inflammation and reduced liver fibrosis degree. TNF signaling pathway, involved in macrophages recruitment and phenotypic polarization, was discovered by RNA-Seq transcriptome analysis. In TNF signaling pathway, CCL2 expression was significantly decreased and CX3CL1 expression was significantly upregulated by FZHY in liver tissue and primary intrahepatic macrophages. The ratio of proinflammatory hepatic resident macrophage-Kupffer cells (F4/80+CD11b−CD86+) was downregulated by FZHY, while the proportion of anti-inflammatory Kupffer cells (F4/80+CD11b−CD206+) was upregulated. Meanwhile, the ratio of proinflammatory Ly6Chigh macrophages (F4/80+CD11b+Ly6Chigh) which were recruited from blood circulation by CCL2 was reduced by FZHY, while the ratio of restorative Ly6Clow macrophages (F4/80+CD11b+Ly6Clow) which were recruited from blood circulation or induced from Ly6Chigh macrophages polarization by CX3CL1 was significantly increased. Conclusions. FZHY could regulate the recruitment and polarization of intrahepatic macrophages via CCL2 and CX3CL1, so as to play its anti-inflammation and antifibrosis pharmacological effects in the liver.

Background: Inpatients with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) have been well depicted in clinical characteristics. However, few studies reported post-discharge conditions, especially mental health status, for survivors following COVID-19. In this study, we aimed to first report mental health status in COVID-19 survivors and explore relevant influence factors. Methods: In this descriptive case series, we enrolled a population of 370 COVID-19 survivors in Wuhan Jinyintan Hospital, China. Survivors were discharged during Jan 4 and Feb 12, 2020. Telephone follow-up was conducted. Readmission status and post-discharge symptoms and signs were inquired. Mental health conditions of anxiety and depression were assessed using The Generalized Anxiety Disorder Screener (GAD-7) and Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9), respectively. Results: The median post-discharge follow-up period was 22 days (interquartile range 20~30 days). Of the 370 COVID-19 survivors, no survivors were readmitted due to recurrence of SARS-CoV-2-positive pneumonia. Sixty (16.2%) survivors had post-discharge cough and 45 (12.2%) had breathlessness after activity. One hundred and seventy-three (46.8%) survivors worried about recurrence and 174 (47.0%) worried about infection to others such as their family. Two hundred and ninety-three (79.2%) survivors took a home quarantine lifestyle. Fifty (13.5%) survivors occurred anxiety and 40 (10.8%) survivors occurred depression. Survivors were most bothered by sleeping disorders (29.5%). Four survivors (1.1%) once had thoughts of suicide in several days. Three hundred and fifty-six (96.2%) survivors were willing to return to hospital for health examination. This research makes an attempt of using historical stock big data to predict near future trend of the stock. To fulfill this task, a novel approach based on fused intelligent computing is introduced and investigated. It is composited of four main parts, including data discretization, attribute reduction, classification and decision fusion. Further, one or two algorithms are adopted to realize specific function in each part, respectively. The given stock indexes are selected by the reduction algorithm of discernibility matrix, and the outputs of multiple classifiers are fused by the decision fusion algorithm. These processes and other ones are dedicated to enhancing the accuracy of stock trend prediction. To demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach, a variety of experimental simulations utilizing historical data of three stocks in NASDAQ are carried out, and the prediction accuracy of the proposed approach are compared as well. The experimental results prove that our approach could accomplish the prediction task with high accuracy.

Objective This study aimed to identify the median effective volume of ropivacaine 0.5% for ultrasound-guided adductor canal block (ACB). Methods Thirty-two patients received ultrasound-guided ACB for knee arthroscopic meniscectomy. The criterion for successful ACB was the loss of pinprick sensation in the saphenous area (medial knee, leg, and foot). The volume of ropivacaine 0.5% in each case was determined using the up-down method and used for calculating the median effective dose. Results The mean age, weight, and height of patients were 28.6 ± 7.1 years, 68.2 ± 10.6 kg, and 172.5 ± 6.4 cm, respectively. Among patients who received 18- and 15-mL doses, ACB was successful in all four cases. Among patients who received a 12-mL dose, ACB was effective in eight and ineffective in two cases. Among patients who received a 10-mL dose, ACB was successful in six and unsuccessful in seven cases. In patients who received an 8-mL dose, ACB was ineffective in all five cases. The median effective volume of ropivacaine 0.5% was 10.4 mL (95% confidence interval, 9.1–11.4 mL). In all effective cases, the median quadriceps strength was grade 5. Conclusions The median effective volume of ropivacaine 0.5% is 10.4 mL for ultrasound-guided ACB.

Objective: Postmenopausal women possess higher incidence of stroke and worse prognosis. Although estrogen replacement therapy has obvious neuroprotective effects against stroke, it is always accompanied with several adverse effects and undesired outcomes. Genistein, a natural phytoestrogen, has been indicated to be a potential neuroprotective alternative for postmenopausal women against stroke. However, the role and mechanism of genistein’s neuroprotective effects against stroke in ovariectomized rats have rarely been explored. Methods: In this study, ovariectomized rats were treated with genistein (10 mg/kg) or vehicle daily for two weeks before they received middle cerebral artery occlusion (MCAO) and reperfusion. After 72 hours of reperfusion, the neurological function was evaluated by Garcia test, infarct volume was detected by 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride staining, and neuronal damage was detected by Nissl staining. In addition, ROS production and the expression of Nrf2, NQO1 and cleaved-Caspase3 in the ischemic penumbra were detected. Results: The results showed that genistein treatment significantly improved the neurological outcome, reduced infarct volume, increased Nrf2 and NQO1 expression, and reduced ROS production and cleaved-Caspase3 expression in ovariectomized rats. Discussion: Our findings indicated that treatment with genistein could alleviated oxidative stress injury induced by cerebral ischemia in ovariectomized rats via promoting Nrf2 and NQO1 expression, which provide a new molecular mechanism for the neuroprotective effects of genistein against stroke in postmenopausal women.

Brucellosis, a zoonosis which can seriously harm public health. Inner Mongolia is known as an endemic region of human brucellosis in China. The aim of this study is to present the epidemic of human brucellosis in Inner Mongolia from 2010 to 2014, and to provide the evidence of preventing from brucellosis in endemic areas. The study included 838,956 participants by cluster random sampling from 2010 to 2014. The contents of this study included questionnaire survey and serological testing. The seropositive rate was calculated based on the serological testing results, tested to determine whether the participants were infected by brucellosis. The new brucellosis cases were diagnosed using the questionnaire data and serological testing results then and the incidence rate was obtained. We also plotted spatial distribution maps based on the seropositive and incidence rate of human brucellosis. The total seropositive and incidence rate of human brucellosis among the high risk groups in Inner Mongolia from 2010 to 2014 was 35.91‰ and 18.25‰, respectively. The epidemic of the mid-eastern Inner Mongolia was decreased, however, the epidemic has worsened in western Inner Mongolia. Despite the epidemic of human brucellosis among the high risk groups of Inner Mongolia decreased significantly from 2010 to 2014, increased prevention and control measures are urgently needed. Wearable integrated systems that rely on liquid metal commonly require an extremely complicated, high-cost fabrication process, while lacking multiple sensing functions without conductive wires connected to external electronic systems. A multi-sensing wearable patch independent from sophisticated manufacturing method and excessive use of wires has yet to be developed. Herein, we introduce a wireless, battery-free, and skin-attachable patch with multiple sensing capacities, utilizing a low-budget, less time-consuming and design-customizable fabrication method. In an effort to achieve our goal, the general sensing system architecture is promoted, which consists of a semi-liquid alloy Ni-GaIn based strain sensor and a co-designed near-field-communication (NFC) tag integrating thermistor, photoresistor, as well as sensor interface circuits, enabling energy-autonomous power supply and wireless data transmission. In human volunteers, the patch was mounted on the skin surface to demonstrate real-time temperature and light intensity signal monitoring. Further evaluation of body motion capturing involved finger bending and swallowing, demonstrating the feasibility of practical applications in different scenarios. Continuous and simultaneous multi-type signal sensing using the wearable patch should enrich the dimensions of measurements of body response to daily activities, unveiling the potential for remote human health monitoring, advanced human–machine interfaces, and other applications of interest.

The accuracy of present flatness predictive method is limited and it just belongs to software simulation. In order to improve it, a novel flatness predictive model via T-S cloud reasoning network implemented by digital signal processor (DSP) is proposed. First, the combination of genetic algorithm (GA) and simulated annealing algorithm (SAA) is put forward, called GA-SA algorithm, which can make full use of the global search ability of GA and local search ability of SA. Later, based on T-S cloud reasoning neural network, flatness predictive model is designed in DSP. And it is applied to 900HC reversible cold rolling mill. Experimental results demonstrate that the flatness predictive model via T-S cloud reasoning network can run on the hardware DSP TMS320F2812 with high accuracy and robustness by using GA-SA algorithm to optimize the model parameter.
