Aim of the study is 1. Find out the extent of reported parental substance abuse 2. Assess the psychosocial development of child 3. Assess the perceived impact of parental substance abuse on psychosocial development of children. Methodology: The study was conducted in the school of Wardha district, Maharashtra, India. Population: School going children of age 6-12yrs and their parents. 200 sample size was selected, each 100 parent and 100 children. Non-probability convenient sampling technique used. A structured questionnaire used for both parent and their children separately. Results: The reported prevalence rate of parental substance abuse as reported by children shows the ratio as: The rate of no substance abusers which scores from 0-12 of frequency (14) is 14%.The rate of Borderline abusers which scores from 13-24 of frequency (23) is 23%. The rate of Mild abusers which scores from 25-36 of frequency (22) is 22%.The rate of Moderate abusers which scores from 37-48 of frequency (23) is 23%.The rate of Severe abusers which scores from 49-60 of frequency (18) is 18%. The reported prevalence rate of parental substance abuse as reported by parent shows the ratio as: The rate of no substance abusers which scores from 0-9 of frequency (6) is 6%. The rate of Borderline abusers which scores from 10-18 of frequency (24) is 24%. The rate of Mild abusers which scores from 19-27 of frequency (28) is 28%. The rate of Moderate abusers which scores from 28-36 of frequency (18) is 18%. The rate of Severe abusers which scores from 37-44 of frequency (26) is 26%. Psychosocial behaviour of children which reveals that most of the children will act as crying or will get angry which is an age appropriate behaviour.

This study aims to evaluate the efficacy, feasibility, tolerability, and toxicity of concurrent chemotherapy and brachytherapy for locally advanced cervical carcinoma.Forty patients of cervical carcinoma were included in this study. The study period ranges from October 2016 to September 2019. Patients were evaluated and treated as per the protocol: external beam radiotherapy (50 Gy in 25 fractions) and concurrent weekly chemotherapy with injection (Inj.) cisplatin (30 mg/mOut of 40 patients enrolled in the study, 36 patients completed the treatment (17 Stage II and 19 Stage III). The incidence of Grade I and II skin toxicities were 78% and 10%, respectively. The incidence of genitourinary toxicities with respect to Grade I and II were 72% and 12%, respectively. There were Grade III hematological toxicities in two patients and the brachytherapy treatment was delayed for 4-6 days. The overall complete response was found in 28 (78%) patients, partial response in six (16.7%) patients, and progressive disease in two (5.6%) patients at 3 months of follow-up. On the last follow-up, 21 (58%) patients were disease-free and there was disease failure in seven patients (5 local recurrence and 2 with distant metastasis).Brachytherapy with the addition of concurrent chemotherapy is effective and feasible with acceptable toxicity for advanced stages of carcinoma cervix. This study upholds an interesting approach that can be regarded as feasible and tolerable for cervical cancer patients.

Electric discharge machining is an advanced machining technique. Spark is initiated between the tool and work piece interface which has a gap between them. Low material removal rate as well as low surface finish is a major concern of this process. Therefore, Powder mixed electric discharge machining is developed. In PMEDM process, powders like silicon, aluminium, chromium, manganese, etc. are circulated along with dielectric fluid in a particular proportion. In this present study, aluminium powder is mixed in the dielectric fluid. The responses such as material removal rate, tool wear rate and surface roughness are measured by considering current, pulse on time and aluminium powder concentration as process parameters. Response surface methodology along with Fuzzy AHP TOPSIS and Grey relational analysis are used for optimization.

Indium selenide (γ-In2Se3) films were prepared using RF magnetron sputtering. Influence of deposition time on structural, optical, morphological, and photoelectrochemical (PEC) performance was studied. Formation of γ-In2Se3 is confirmed by low angle XRD, Raman spectroscopy, and XPS analysis. Surface morphology investigated using FE-SEM shows that γ-In2Se3 films are uniform and have a dense grain structure, without cracks and holes. Optical properties show that γ-In2Se3films absorb mainly in the UV region, and the bandgap energy decreases from 2.81 to 2.27 eV as deposition duration increases. Conduction and valance band-edge potential values show that γ-In2Se3 films are suitable for photoelectrochemical hydrogen evolution. PEC activity of γ-In2Se3 photoanodes was evaluated using linear sweep voltammetry (LSV), and there was an increase in photocurrent density with deposition time. Electron impedance spectroscopy (EIS) analysis revealed that γ-In2Se3 photoanodes had high charge transfer resistance, and it decreases with deposition time, which leads to improved PEC performance. Investigation of Mott Schottky's (MS) results shows a shifting of flat band potential towards negative potential, suggesting movement of fermi level towards conduction band edge. Carrier density increases from 3.7 × 1019 cm−3 to 8.9 × 1020 cm−3 and depletion layer width of γ-In2Se3 photoanodes are found in the range of ~ 2.67–9.10 nm. The gradual increase in electron lifetime indicates a decrease in the recombination rate of photo-generated charge carriers. An increase in time-dependent photocurrent density reveals that γ-In2Se3 films have effective electron–hole separation. Our work demonstrates that γ-In2Se3 can be a probable candidate for PEC water splitting and opto-electronic applications.

A simple, accurate and rapid Bioanalytical reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography (RPHPLC) method for determination of Dapoxetin hydrochloride in human plasma was validated as per ICH guideline. Dapoxetin hydrochloride is significantly superior in premature ejaculation and more active against serotonin transport inhibitor than any other drug in class. The total analysis was carried out on using stationary phase symmetry C1 (4.6mm X 250mm, 5µm) with Mobile Phase Acetonitrile: Buffer (60:40) pH adjusted to3.5 flow rate was 1.0 ml/min, injection volume of 10 ppm and detection wavelength was 293nm at ambient temperature with total run time of 10 minutes. Retention time of spiked plasma and dapoxetine hydrochloride were found to be 2.153 min and 4.442 min, r2 value were 0.995 and 0.999 and linearity range was 5ppm to 25ppm for both. The method was developed for accuracy, linearity, precision, recovery and stability in complies and stability in complies with CDER and ICH guideline.

Natural mother’s breast milk is the best food for all newborns, especially preterm babies. However, if mother’s milk is unavailable or donor breast milk (DBM) is inadequate, DBM is the next best choice. Human milk pasteurizers are traditionally big, costly, and require special electrical and water connections, as well as need a large volume of water that is not recycled and an ongoing supply of disposable plastic bottles. Operation of these machines necessitates specialized training. The creation of Kimie, a compact, automated, and user-friendly human breast milk pasteurizer capable of pasteurizing small volumes of DBM, is described here. This system needs no special water plumbing, recycles water, and is reasonably priced.

The possibilities of the precise control of wetting properties of a series of laser-induced graphene (LIG) films consisting of microscale air pockets on top of nano-scale surface roughness using electrowetting are demonstrated. By application of a marginal DC bias (∼2 V), water can efficiently wet as well as can be pumped through the superhydrophobic LIG substrates. Interestingly, the electrowetting phenomenon is strongly dependent on the applied voltage polarity and it causes an abrupt wetting transition from superhydrophobic (contact angle ∼152°) Cassie state to superhydrophilic (contact angle ∼7°) Wenzel state on the LIG films. By analyzing the voltage polarity dependent electrowetting results with an equivalent electrical circuit model at the solid-liquid interface, and considering the hierarchical dual surface roughness (micro-nano scale), the transition between the “slippy” Cassie state and the “sticky” Wenzel states is explained. Furthermore, we demonstrate that the unique structural characteristics of the custom-designed micropatterned LIGs, with precisely tailored surface energy by simple post-annealing treatment, enable easy preparation of superhydrophobic LIG films. The approach to prepare stable superhydrophobic LIG with voltage polarity dependent wetting mode transition is used here to controllably transport of water through 3D porous LIG surfaces.

Reducing levels of CO2, a greenhouse gas, in the earth’s atmosphere is crucial to addressing the problem of climate change. An effective strategy to achieve this without compromising the scale of industrial activity involves use of renewable energy and waste heat in conversion of CO2 to useful products. In this perspective, we present quantum mechanical and machine learning approaches to tackle various aspects of thermocatalytic reduction of CO2 to methanol, using H2 as a reducing agent. Waste heat can be utilized effectively in the thermocatalytic process, and H2 can be generated using solar energy in electrolytic, photocatalytic and photoelectrocatalytic processes. Methanol being a readily usable fuel in automobiles, this technology achieves (a) carbon recycling process, (b) use of renewable energy, and (c) portable storage of H2 for applications in automobiles, alleviating the problem of rising CO2 emissions and levels in atmosphere.

BACKGROUND Mortality and Morbidity rates in the patients diagnosed with oral cancers remain static despite availability of advanced diagnostic and treatment modalities. For improving the survival status of the patients, a thorough understanding of the factors that predicts the progression of oral cancer is necessary to determine appropriate line of treatment. To do so in practise, critical knowledge regarding the prognostic factors that has high sensitivity holds immense importance. For determination of prognosis in oral cancer patients, clinical and histopathological parameters are widely used for assessment of treatment strategies. The primary objective of this study was to determine the clinical and histopathological prognostic factors in patients of oral squamous cell carcinoma of gingivobuccal sulcus (GBSSCC) treated by surgical intervention (neck dissection). METHODS Histopathological evaluation of archived samples of 60 GBSSCC patients which were treated by surgical intervention (Neck Dissection) in the time period from January 2011 to December 2020. Recurrent cases were excluded. Clinicopathological parameters such as age, sex, habit, tumour site, tumour size, tumour differentiation, depth of invasion, bone invasion, muscle invasion, perineural invasion & extracapsular spread were evaluated & then correlated with lymphnode status. RESULTS Among all the parameters, variables like habit (tobacco use) (P = 0.045), tumour size (P = 0.003), perineural invasion (P = 0.000) emerged as independent prognosticators and significantly correlated to the lymph node status of the patients. CONCLUSIONS This analysis suggests that habit, tumour size, perineural invasion to be consistent, easy to assess and reliable independent prognosticators which are significantly correlated to the lymph node status. To conclude, it is of paramount importance to include the aforementioned prognosticators in histopathological reports for the prediction of clinical outcome and archiving of valued data for future analysis. In this paper, Au plasmons and their synergistic effects with ZnO nanorods (ZNs) have been investigated for photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting application. Au plasmons and ZNs are deposited electrochemically. Au modified nanostructures have absorption in the visible region as plasmons enhance charge transfer and inhibit charge recombination. ZNs modified with Au (deposition duration ∼ 60 s) has a photo-current density of ∼ 660 µA cm-2, at a bias of 1.0V/SCE. X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy were used to study the structure and surface morphology of fabricated photoanodes. UV-Visible absorption and Photoluminescence spectroscopy were used for optical characterization. We have recorded current-voltage measurements and photo-conversion efficiency measurements to substantiate our observations of the synthesized photoanodes for prospective application in PEC splitting of water. We have also carried out Mott-Schottky, and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy analysis. The analysis reveals that Au modified ZNs based photoanodes are a better proposition than their bare counterparts for PEC water splitting application.

Aim and Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the variations in the number of canals and its morphology in permanent mandibular first molars using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT) in a subset of Indian population. Materials and Methods: A total of 350 CBCT scans were collected and evaluated in all three orthogonal planes to determine the number of root canals and study their anatomic variations using Vertucci’s classification. Statistical Analysis used: The total number of roots and root canals, the root canal configuration, the incidence, and the correlations between left- and right-side occurrences and between males and females were analysed. Statistically significant differences were evaluated using the chi-square test with SPSS 16.0 for Windows (SPSS, Chicago, IL), with significance set at p Result: The results of this study showed that predominantly, two thirds of the subjects had type VI mesial canal configuration and two-thirds had type I distal canal configuration. Also there was significant variance in the canal anatomy across gender and age of the subjects. Conclusion: CBCT is a clinically useful tool in understanding the variations in root canal morphology, which guides in the assessment of the canal morphology aiding in successful root canal treatment. BACKGROUND Nurses and medical social workers’ (MSW’s) stress has an impact on health, which ultimately has an effect on quality care of the patients. Stress problems are one of the leading causes of sleep disturbance. We wanted to evaluate the association of quality and pattern of sleep with work stress levels in nurses and medico-social workers in this study. METHODS A cross-sectional study was conducted on nurses and MSW’s of Tertiary Care Hospitals of Wardha city using questionnaire, containing 24 questions. A total of 513 Nurses and 36 MSW’s of Tertiary Care Hospitals were taken in this study, sampling was done by simple random sampling method. The stress was evaluated using 10 items “Global perceived stress scale” (GPSS) and for sleep quality “Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index” (PSQI) of total 14 items was used. The variables were compared in unpaired t test and Pearson correlation test to know the level of significance of determinacy which was set at less than 0.05. RESULTS The overall PSS scores in nurses (12.57 ± 3.7) and MSWs (12.87 ± 3.1) were almost similar and were statistically significant. Subjective sleep quality score of MSWs (2.19 ± 0.66) was higher than that of nurses (2.00 ± 0.19) and was statistically insignificant according to the specialization. The statistically relevant sleep duration was greater in MSWs (13.50 ± 03.56) than in nurses (12.16 ± 02.73). Moderate positive correlation between perceived stress severity and Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index was observed. CONCLUSIONS Certain characteristics of work shift among nurses and MSW’s is directly affected by the stress and sleep quality and indirectly affects the patient care and treatment. The study indicates that work characteristics may influence sleep quality and stress among nurses and MSW’s. We needed to improve work shift schedule in order to provide good health and well-being of nurses and MSW’s which would further improve the quality of patient care. Objectives Due to the remote forest area locations of sporadic cases and outbreaks of Kyasanur forest disease (KFD), rapid diagnosis poses a significant challenge. This study aimed to evaluate the diagnostic performance of Truenat KFD, a simple, rapid and user-friendly point-of-care test for detection of KFD and compare diagnostic accuracy with conventional real-time reverse transcription-polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) testing. Truenat KFD can be deployed in a field laboratory setting. Methods The study involved 145 clinical specimens, including human serum, monkey necropsy tissues and tick pool, to validate Truenat KFD (Molbio Diagnostics Pvt.Ltd.) for KFD diagnosis. Results We have optimized and validated the microchip-based Truenat KFD (Molbio Diagnostics Pvt.Ltd.) for KFD diagnosis. Point-of-care testing was highly sensitive and specific, with a detection limit of up to 10 copies of KFD viral RNA. Results were comparable with the gold-standard TaqMan and commercially available Altona RealStar AHFV / KFDV real-time RT-PCR assays. Screening results for human, monkey and tick specimens were 100% concordant across the assays. Conclusion Truenat KFD(Molbio Diagnostics Pvt.Ltd.) was found to be highly sensitive and specific with a significant limit of detection. This point-of-care test would be useful in rapid diagnosis of KFD in remote and/or field settings, quick patient management and control of virus spread.

Rain prediction is one of the most challenging and uncertain tasks that has a profound effect on human society. Timely and accurate forecasting can help significantly reduce population and financial losses. This study presents a collection of tests involving the use of conventional machine learning techniques to create rainfall prediction models depending on the weather information of the area. This Comparative research was conducted focusing on three aspects: modeling inputs, modeling methods, and prioritization techniques. The results provide a comparison of the various test metrics for these machine learning methods and their reliability estimates in rain by analyzing weather data. This study seeks a unique and effective machine learning system for predicting rainfall. The study experimented with different parameters of the rainfall from various regions in order to assess the efficiency and durability of the model. The machine learning model is focused on this study. Rainfall patterns in this study are collected, trained and tested for achievement of sustainable outcomes using machine learning models. The monthly rainfall predictions obtained after training and testing are then compared to real data to ensure the accuracy of the model The results of this study indicate that the model has been successful in it predicting monthly rain data and specific parameters.

The use of low intensity ultrasound has gotten surprising consideration over the last decade as a method for enhancing the catalytic activity of enzyme. Ultrasounds have the potential to significantly influence the activity of the enzymatic processes, provided that the energy input is not so high as to inactivate the enzyme. By providing the variation in parameters, various physical and chemical effects can be attained that can enhance the enzymatic reaction. Ultrasonic reactors are known for their application in bioprocesses. However, the potential of their applications is still limited broadly due to the lack of proper information about their operational and performance parameters. In this review, the detailed information about ultrasonic reactors is provided by defining the different types of reactors and number and position of ultrasonic transducers. Also, it includes mechanism of intensification and influence of ultrasonic parameters (intensity, duty cycle, and frequency) and enzymatic factors (enzyme concentration, temperature, and pH) on the catalytic activity of enzyme during ultrasound treatment.

Detecting feasible coronavirus infection using chest X-Ray may also assist quarantine excessive risk sufferers while testing results are disclosed. This study aimed to explore the feasibility of radiomics features extracted from T1-weighted MRI images to differentiate Parkinson’s disease (PD) from atypical parkinsonian syndromes (APS). Radiomics features were computed from T1 images of 65 patients with PD, 61 patients with APS (31: progressive supranuclear palsy and 30: multiple system atrophy), and 75 healthy controls (HC). These features were extracted from 19 regions of interest primarily from subcortical structures, cerebellum, and brainstem. Separate random forest classifiers were applied to classify different groups based on a reduced set of most important radiomics features for each classification as determined by the random forest–based recursive feature elimination by cross-validation method. The PD vs HC classifier illustrated an accuracy of 70%, while the PD vs APS classifier demonstrated a superior test accuracy of 92%. Moreover, a 3-way PD/MSA/PSP classifier performed with 96% accuracy. While first-order and texture-based differences like Gray Level Co-occurrence Matrix (GLCM) and Gray Level Difference Matrix for the substantia nigra pars compacta and thalamus were highly discriminative for PD vs HC, textural features mainly GLCM of the ventral diencephalon were highlighted for APS vs HC, and features extracted from the ventral diencephalon and nucleus accumbens were highlighted for the classification of PD and APS. This study establishes the utility of radiomics to differentiate PD from APS using routine T1-weighted images. This may aid in the clinical diagnosis of PD and APS which may often be indistinguishable in early stages of disease. • Radiomics features were extracted from T1-weighted MRI images. • Parkinson’s disease and atypical parkinsonian syndromes were classified at an accuracy of 92%. • This study establishes the utility of radiomics to differentiate Parkinson’s disease and atypical parkinsonian syndromes using routine T1-weighted images.

BACKGROUND Infancy is a significant period in a human being's development.1 Adverse parenting practices can have negative impacts in the context of complete dependence and vulnerability of a child. Physical and psychological development of the child is also influenced by the relationship between the mother and the child. The purpose of the study was to assess the interaction and its association with socio-emotional development between mother and child in rural areas. METHODS A cross-sectional study was conducted in a rural area of Wardha district among 160 mother-child participants using Observation of Mother-Child Interaction (OMCI) and Profile of Socio-Emotional Development (PSED) tools for accessing mother-child interaction and socio emotional development of child. The sampling was done by complete enumeration sampling method. Written inform consent was taken from participants. Descriptive analysis was carried out in order to evaluate the measures of the collected result. RESULTS It is evident from this study that there is no statistically significant finding in motherchild interaction with socio emotional development i.e., P-value 0.081, and mother score having mean (SD) i.e., 22.99 (± 5.38), child score having mean (SD) i.e., 13.19 (± 3.84), total mother-child score having mean (SD) i.e., 18.03 (± 6.70) and total PSED score having mean (SD) i.e., 15.63 (± 6.15). CONCLUSIONS This study concludes that large responsive care ratings were related to enhance socio-emotional growth and responsive care with higher levels of maternal education as well as socioeconomic status. It can be further stated that inclusion of responsive care in child health interventions could have a valuable impact on child socioemotional development. Asiatic cotton (G. arboreum) is one of the important cultivated species of cotton originated in Indian subcontinent. Owing to its climate resilience, Asiatic cotton in particular and desi cotton in general, constitutes valuable genetic resources for cotton improvement to achieve sustainable cotton production in India. In the present study, 24 popular Asiatic cotton varieties were profiled using 300 genome-wide SSR markers. Of these, 48 were identified as distinctly polymorphic which detected a total of 124 alleles ranging from 2 to 5 alleles per loci with an average of 2.58. The genetic dissimilarity among 24 G. arboreum varieties ranged from 0.27 to 0.53 with an average of 0.42 indicating presence of sufficient genetic diversity in Indian arboreum varieties. The dissimilarity based unweighted neighbor joining method of clustering grouped them into 6 distinct clusters. The clustering pattern was found to be inconsistent with their known source or pedigree. We propose a set of 8 informative SSR markers for variety identification in diploid cotton using those, DNA fingerprint of 24 Asiatic cotton varieties was developed. Very low probability of identical match (2.68 × 10–6) with goodness of fit of 0.65 indicated robustness and reliability of the developed DNA fingerprint. Information generated in the present study about pattern of diversity among popular Asiatic cotton varieties of India and identified polymorphic markers will be of immense utility in maintenance of valuable desi cotton varieties and marker assisted breeding.

Data are limited regarding risk factors for lower respiratory tract infection (LRTI) caused by seasonal human coronaviruses (HCoVs) and the significance of virologic documentation by bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) on outcomes in hematopoietic cell transplant (HCT) recipients. We retrospectively analyzed patients undergoing allogeneic HCT (4/2008-9/2018) with HCoV (OC43/NL63/HKU1/229E) detected by polymerase chain reaction during conditioning or post-HCT. Risk factors for all manifestations of LRTI and progression to LRTI among those presenting with HCoV upper respiratory tract infection (URTI) were analyzed by logistic regression and Cox proportional hazard models, respectively. Mortality rates following HCoV LRTI were compared according to virologic documentation by BAL. A total of 297 patients (61 children and 236 adults) developed HCoV infection as follows: 254 had URTI alone, 18 presented with LRTI, and 25 progressed from URTI to LRTI (median, 16 days; range, 2-62 days). Multivariable logistic regression analyses showed that male sex, higher immunodeficiency scoring index, albumin 150 mg/dL, and presence of respiratory copathogens were associated with occurrence of LRTI. Hyperglycemia with steroid use was associated with progression to LRTI (P < .01) in Cox models. LRTI with HCoV detected in BAL was associated with higher mortality than LRTI without documented detection in BAL (P < .01). In conclusion, we identified factors associated with HCoV LRTI, some of which are less commonly appreciated to be risk factors for LRTI with other respiratory viruses in HCT recipients. Background The most commonly used conventional drying techniques causes several nutritional, physical and chemical changes which makes food unacceptable to the consumer. The increase in demand of higher retention of nutrients and physico-chemical characteristics of food products requires the development of novel drying technique. Refractance Window™ (RW™) drying has huge potential to cause minimal changes in the quality properties of food. RW™ drying uses circulating hot water to bring thermal energy to the material to be dried. Scope and approach To understand the potential opportunities of RW™ drying in food applications, it is very essential to examine it's effect on different quality characteristics. The present review article summarizes the working principle and the effect of RW™ drying on the retention of bioactive compounds and physicochemical properties of food products. Key findings and conclusions In RW™ drying, the evaporative cooling at the surface of the drying material restricts the temperature of 70 and 85 °C. At this reduced temperature material quality and heat sensitive nutritional compounds can be highly retained in the final dried product. This characteristic of RW™ drying extends its applications for high value food products. Comparison of RW™ drying with other drying process confirms that it provides more advantageous in terms of retention of heat labile compounds, retention of quality parameters and energy efficiency with reduced operating cost.

Approximately 2,500 pediatric hematopoietic cell transplants (HCTs), most of which are allogeneic, are performed annually in the United States for life-threatening malignant and nonmalignant conditions. Although HCT is undertaken with curative intent, post-HCT complications limit successful outcomes, with pulmonary dysfunction representing the leading cause of nonrelapse mortality. To better understand, predict, prevent, and/or treat pulmonary complications after HCT, a multidisciplinary group of 33 experts met in a 2-day National Institutes of Health Workshop to identify knowledge gaps and research strategies most likely to improve outcomes. This summary of Workshop deliberations outlines the consensus focus areas for future research.

Mucosal fenestration is a rare entity wherein apex of the tooth is exposed in the oral cavity due to breakdown of the overlying bone and mucosa. This leads to accumulation of plaque and if left untreated can hamper the further prognosis of the tooth. Although there are few evidences regarding mucosal fenestrations in posterior region of maxilla, treatment of the same have been challenging for the clinicians. This case report describes the management of mucosal fenestrations in the posterior maxilla by regenerative periodontal flap surgical approach using xenograft (Osseograft) and platelet-rich fibrin membrane.

Roychowdhury et al. found that cadmium doping of silver antimony telluride enhances cationic ordering, which simultaneously improves electric properties and helpfully decreases thermal conductivity (see the Perspective by Liu and Ibáñez). Introduction - The phenomenon of ovulation is a crucial phenomenon in evolution. Many modalities todetect the same have been developed and time tested. Each of them have their advantages and linked withsome shortcomings. This article unravels one more physical property of saliva which is characteristic duringthe menstrual cycle.Aim - To study the salivary matrix in women during the course of menstrual cycle.Materials and method- Early morning salivary smear was obtained from the subjects. They were madeto spit and spread the drop of saliva on slide and fix it using the alcohol spray. Each slide was labeled andassessed under the microscope with 10X magnification. The slides labeled were assessed for ferning on firstday of the menstruation cycle till the beginning of next menstruation cycle.Result - The salivary smear showed varied patterns in salivary matrix during the entire course of menstrualcycle.Conclusion - Ferning assessment is basically a qualitative test of saliva which will be evident aroundovulation. This test can be used to plan pregnancy. It cannot be used to prevent pregnancy. An appropriatereagent or kit needs to be developed in order to identify this unique phenomenon.

Porocarcinomas are aggressive adnexal tumors with a rare incidence. They are usually seen as a nodular or infiltrating growth over the lower extremities, infrequently over the scalp. They are thought to be arising from a pre-existing lesion and with a long clinical history. Treatment of choice is surgical resection with histopathologically confirmed negative margins. There are chances of local recurrence; hence a regular follow-up is must in these cases. Hereby we present a case of 42 year old male with 2 year history of growth over the right temporo-parietal region of the scalp. Histological confirmation of the diagnosis was done after wide local excision of the tumor. Porocarcinomas are mostly likely to be misdiagnosed clinically; therefore a histopathological correlation is necessary for the confirmation of diagnosis and further management of the patient.

Lumbosacral radiculopathy is very common presentation in old age people. Of the more common causes, the rarest is the presence of Lumbar intrasynovial cysts (LISCs). This case report of a 64 year old patient presenting with low back pain radiating to left leg and presence of a LISC (MRI finding) at L4-L5 has set a very good example for considering FGPCR for treatment. The patient reported 90% relief in pain after the procedure. So FGPCR can be considered before proceeding for surgery.

In present study, CZTS films were fabricated using 2 different processes and their properties have been compared. The first is a 2-stage process which includes deposition of CZT followed by sulfurization and the second is a 3-stage process which includes deposition of identical CZT, soft annealing (pre-heating) and sulfurization. Structural, morphological, optical and compositional properties of CZTS films are investigated by XRD, Raman spectroscopy, FE-SEM, UV–Visible spectroscopy, EDS and photoresponse measurements. Structural analysis revealed that films prepared by both processes have polycrystalline kesterite-CZTS structure and exhibit prefered orientation along (1 1 2) direction. It has been observed that soft annealing temperature in 3-stage process significantly improve the crystal quality of CZTS films. Surface morphology of films sulfurized at 550 °C shows a uniform and compact micrograin (∼0.31 µm) without cracks. The soft annealing temperature significantly improves micrograin size (∼0.49 µm) and compactness of CZTS films. UV–Visible spectroscopy showed that the band gap of all CZTS films is in optimal range. The CZTS films fabricated by 3-stage process, exhibits high photocurrent response under intermittent visible-light irradiation, implying that they can useful as an absorber layer in solar cells.

One of the important milestones in zero energy building construction is the energy consumption followed by utilization and supply in any buildings. Energy conservation is equally as important as energy harvesting. So, for a zero energy consumed building, it is very much required to focus on building energy consumption. This paper deals with material used to construct such a building whose average consumption is very low as well as make use of the availability of renewable energy sources (mainly solar energy) to meet the energy needs. Building materials plays a great role in heating and cooling such as to save internal heat in winter as well as to block the entering external heat in summer. In this aspect a wide range of energy efficient options have been discussed in this paper. This paper deals also with the energy calculations and the materials needed for insulation needed in an energy efficient building. Need for zero building and use of equipments using solar energy are discussed in this paper as well building materials and insulation needed for an energy efficient building is also discussed at a certain extent.

In this paper, multipoint dimple sheet forming process parameters is investigated in terms of optimization using finite element technique and Taguchi method. Dimples are produced using punch and die press braking operation. Dimple sheet formed using roller is very complex due to nonlinear structure, costly and widely used in construction, in many industrial applications. In this work, Ansys simulation software is used for accurate and critical understanding effect of sheet thickness, diameter of dimple, depth of dimple and distance between dimples in dimple forming process. The major objective is to determine the effect of the process parameters to obtain the optimal multipoint forming design of the dimple sheet. The hemispheric punch chosen for dimple is based on commonly used for various dimple sheet applications. Process parameters are sheet thickness, diameter of dimple, depth of dimple and distance between dimples has been analyzed using Taguchi method. The material selected for this work is structural steel. The results obtained indicate that the parameter sheet thickness is the most effective one on forming force. Tensile test of optimal parameter, result predicts that the dimple sheet strength is greater than that of the plain sheet.

Oral vesiculobullous lesions are highly dynamic in their presentation making the current treatment strategies fall short of expected complete remission. With continuing research on the various treatment modalities of these lesions it is suggested that treating a disorder by following the biological and physiological behavior of the various bodily enzymes and hormones and their circadian rhythm helps in alleviating the symptoms faster with lesser or no side effects. This concept is termed “Chronotherapy.” It works by timing the treatment with the intrinsic timing of illness.

When the positive features are present between 75 % and 25 %, it will be considered as moderate tissue quality (Madhyam Sarata). When positive features are present below 25 %, it will be labeled as poor tissue quality (Heen Sarata). The bodily movements which are meant for producing firmness and strength in the body are known as Vyayama or physical exercises. „Dehabala’ (Physical fitness) of subjects will be determined by Harvard step test. “Harvard Step Test” is a practical application of Ayurvedic Principal that “Bala should be measured by Vyamshakti” (Balam Vyayamshakty Parikshet). The person should be examined with reference to his capacity for exercise which is determined by one‟s ability to perform work. Therefore this study will estimate Dehabala and study the Dhatusarata and their association between them.

Asymptomatic bacteriuria leading to urinary tract infection is the most frequently encountered condition in pregnancy, which has been associated with an increased risk of pre-term delivery and low birth weight. Clinically the diagnosis of UTI can be difficult as symptoms are non-specific. Gold standard method for diagnosis of UTI is urine culture. Up to 18 hours are required for bacterial growth on culture media by standard laboratory techniques, which leads to delay in the treatment. In the present study 100 midstream urine samples from asymptomatic pregnant women were collected. Gram staining, Griess Nitrite Test, Triphenyl tetrazolium chloride test (TTC), Catalase test, these four screening tests were performed on the samples and their results were compared with the results of urine culture. Among these 100 samples, the study revealed that 14 pregnant women had significant bacteriuria (1,00,000 or more bacteria/ ml of urine) giving a prevalence of 14%. This study showed that Gram staining has highest sensitivity i.e. 92.85% and TTC has highest specificity i.e. 98.83% for the detection of significant bacteriuria. To conclude if we perform these two tests in combination then we get a sensitivity of 98.97% and specificity of 94.22% which is not 100% but very close to it. Use of these screening tests will help in early diagnosis and initiation of treatment of UTI in pregnant women. Keywords: Asymptomatic bacteriuria, Pregnancy, Screening tests, UTI.

The Aberrant labial frenum results in diastema and gingival recession thereby compromising the esthetic and functional needs of the patient. There are various procedure for the treatment of the aberrant frenum. The classical frenctomy technique by Archer is an extensive procedure which results in Unesthetic scaring of the tissue, loss of interdental papilla. To overcome these drawbacks, Miller introduced a newer technique where he combined the frencetomy technique with laterally displaced flap. The main advantage of this technique is that the healing takes place by primary intention with no scaring of the tissue. The numerical investigation on the seismic response of RC elevated liquid storage tanks installed with viscous dampers is presented. A discrete two-mass model for the liquid and multi-degree of freedom system for staging, installed with the dampers are developed for Reinforced Concrete (RC) elevated liquid storage tanks. The elevated tank is assessed for seismic response reduction when provided with Linear Viscous Damper (LVD) and Nonlinear Viscous Damper (NLVD), installed in the staging. The RC elevated liquid storage tanks are analyzed for two levels of liquid containment in the tank, 100% and 25% of the tank capacity. Three Configurations of placements of dampers viz. dampers at alternate levels (Configuration I and Configuration II) and dampers at all the panels of the staging of the tank (Configuration III) are considered. To study the effect of peak ground acceleration, eight real earthquake time histories with accelerations varying from 0.1 g to 0.93 g are considered. The nonlinearity in the viscous damper is modified by taking force proportional to various velocity exponents. It is found that the nonlinear viscous dampers with lower damping constant result in a comparable reduction in the response of RC elevated liquid storage tank, to that of linear viscous dampers with higher damping constant. Aim This study was aimed to translate an updated European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) quality of life module for head and neck (EORTC QLQ-H&N43) in grammatically and conceptually acceptable Marathi language and its linguistic validation. Materials and Methods Approval was obtained from the Institutional Ethics Committee. The permission for translation was obtained from the EORTC translation unit (TU). The EORTC guidelines for the translation were followed to form a translation for pilot testing which was administered to 10 Marathi speaking head and neck squamous cell cancer (HNSCC) patients who gave informed written consent for the participation in the study. Patients were interviewed personally. The final Marathi translation was prepared and sent to EORTC TU for approval. Statistical analysis was performed using SYSTAT version 12 by Cranes software, Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. Results After getting permission, the translation files were received from EORTC TU, including Marathi EORTC QLQ-H&N35 for reference. Two forward translations, reconciled translation, back translations, first interim translation, translation for proof editing, and second interim translation (SIT) were prepared. This SIT was pilot tested in 10 Marathi-speaking HNSCC patients. Each patient was interviewed regarding difficulty in answering, confusing or offensive word, and reframing sentence. The questionnaire was well understood by patients reflecting its linguistic validity. After incorporating the changes as per the patient’s interview, updated translation was prepared and sent to EORTC TU which was accepted and approved by EORTC. The psychometric analysis of pilot testing showed that the questionnaire is acceptable. Conclusion Marathi translation of EORTC QLQ-H&N43 is well accepted and understandable. It can be used for future studies.
