This paper proposes a novel research proposal to explore users switching platforms behaviour within the context of social network sites. The aim is to investigate the key factors essential to social network users’ decision to switch platform. In this regard, a mixed methods approach of an exploratory-qualitative study (interviews), followed by a confirmatory-quantitative study (survey) will be proposed, hence so called a mix-method research design. The proposed study also specifically aims to contribute to Information Systems literature by adding value to the users’ switching decision in social network sites platform, and extending the use of switching cost theory. In particular, by anticipating the salient factors affecting the social network sites users to switch platforms, as well as interrelationships using a mixed method approach.

The primary objective of this study is to examine the influence of information technology (IT) on organizational coordination costs using the theoretical lens of transaction cost economics. In doing so, the study addresses the following research questions: Does IT matter? How and why does IT matter to firms? How does coordination cost mediate the relationship between IT spending and firm productivity, and how does it influence IT spending and firm size when considering the information product industries (IPI) and the physical product industries (PPI)? To address these research questions, we use IT spending, coordination costs, firm size, and firm productivity with firm-level data, using Information Week and the Compustat data set in the United States, from 2011 to 2013. Among online learning factors mentioned in the education literature, it is argued that online participation is the strongest factor which contributes to online learning effectiveness. Drawing from the theory of online learning as online participation, an online learning experiment was conducted in a well-known public University in southern Taiwan. There were seventy-five International MBA students participated in the study. The online learning course contents were specifically designed for studying trust in Information Communication Technologies (ICTs). Furthermore, the online learning course was designed by incorporating active case-based learning to increase students' trust in ICTs. The experiment results showed that high online participation treatments could significantly increase online learning effectiveness, measured by grades, perceived skill development, and the level of students' trust in ICTs. Discussion and limitation of this study are discussed in the paper.

Satisfaction plays an important role in creating loyalty to a tourism destination. However, ensuring consistent satisfactory trip experiences for tourists and increasing their revisit intention remain challenging for many international tourism destinations, including Myanmar. We conducted a survey with 465 international tourists visiting Myanmar. Results indicate that need gratification and flow can increase tourist satisfaction. The perceived risks of tourism destination can decrease tourist satisfaction. Satisfaction is an important factor to mediate the influence of need gratification, flow, and perceived risks. A tourist’s intention to revisit Myanmar can be largely improved by attending to these independent and mediating factors.
