However, the IOT also brings along a huge flow of privacy and security concerns whilst considering the huge inflow of data breaches and cyberattacks in the network data. The advancements in the security protocols of the data thus bring along mistrust among the users of IoT networks who might then no longer wish to be a part of this technological revolution. Therefore, it is important to maintain security assurance in the IoT based connection networks of wearable gadgets. This paper discusses the symmetric and asymmetric approaches of encryption over IoT which can help protect the network of smart phones connected to the wearable to assure a safe and smart data commute and avoid access to private data over the same internet connection.

Recent changes in innovation development are related to the new technological revolution (Industry 4.0), pandemic, economic crises, and new legislation. These trends provide new opportunities for the improvement of production materials, construction, processes, and capacities. Innovative technologies improve the processes of business analyses and forecasting, as well as new product development, order processing, logistics, production automation, quality control, and marketing. Modern technologies are gradually replacing ergonomically demanding and dangerous occupations. Such innovations are particularly necessary for the transformation of problem companies and regions, as they often have a significant impact on economic development. This study is part of our long-term research on the technology innovation of problem companies and regions. Its primary goal is to methodically emphasize the importance and role of technology innovation management, mainly in problem companies, and analytically compare the innovation success of regions and countries from a global perspective. The study was carried out from 2015 to 2021. The time scope of the analyzed data is 2000–2018. The results show a certain Asian dominance in technology innovation management, in terms of the number of technology patents as well as of the growth dynamics and the ability to overcome the pandemic and crises in general.

The fourth industrial revolution of human society is also known as the “world’s new technological revolution,” which has brought human society into the information age and has had an extremely important impact on economic development and educational reform. In the information age, economic development and wealth creation are dominated by the acquisition, mastery, distribution, and utilization of information instead of capital. Therefore, the cultivation of talents is very important, and educational reform is imperative with the rise of the world’s new technological revolution.

Our society has undergone a massive technological revolution over the past decade and electronic appliances have now become ubiquitous. The increase in production of electronic products and the growing inherent need to own the latest technology available has led to a significant increase in the amount of E-waste produced each year. India generated 3.2 million tonnes of E-waste in 2020, with metropolitan cities like Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore leading the list. Proper management and recycling of E-wastes are critical for the sustainability of any modern city today. While industrial and commercial collection of E-wastes has been in the spotlight, solutions for collection of E-wastes from individual households are limited. This article proposes the implementation of a mobile robot that identifies common electronic wastes based on transfer learning and serves as an attachment to existing municipality garbage trucks. The robot moves around, identifies electronic wastes and performs segregation of the identified material via its arm-based lift and storage mechanism. A convolutional neural network–based identification system has been employed for categorising the E-wastes and yields 96% accuracy. This is a first of its kind attempt, especially in India, to collect and segregate E-wastes from homes and individuals. The system will relieve unskilled labour from the hazardous process while providing a 20% decrease in costs over a 5-year period. The application of this article aims to provide a viable mobile solution for E-waste collection from households with minimal human intervention.

Artificial intelligence is profoundly changing human social life, and the integration between artificial intelligence and law continues to deepen. Artificial intelligence has brought new impetus for legal education from three dimensions: providing new technologies, establishing new models, and shaping new paradigms. At present, it is still at the exploratory stage on how to position the goal of cultivating versatile professionals of “artificial intelligence + law,” how to improve the competence of teachers, and how to integrate the curriculum system. As one of the important contents of the paradigm transformation of “New Liberal Arts” education, legal education must also upgrade the concept of cultivating professionals, make full use of the support of big data, artificial intelligence, and other new technologies, clarify the goal of cultivating versatile professionals who “have the ability of legal thinking can use artificial intelligence technology,” bolster the ranks of teachers who not only “understand the technology” but also can “foster a new generation of people with sound values and ethics,” and construct the interdisciplinary, integrated AILE theoretical and practical curriculum systems, for the purpose of responding to the development trend of the transformation of liberal arts education in the new era, and providing intellectual support for cultivating professionals to meet the development needs of the country in the new era.

There is an urgent need to push hearing towards a future in which artificial intelligence provides critical support for the testing of hypotheses, the development of therapies and the effective delivery of care worldwide. AI has impacted many fields, but hearing has lagged behind. This Perspective calls for a collaboration between the AI and hearing communities, with the goal of transforming hearing healthcare and research.

Innovative technological processes play an important role in improving public education every year, the introduction of which contributes to the modernization and development of education, as well as improves the quality of training of future specialists and brings education closer to science. At the same time, such technological processes are designed to review existing approaches to educational activities, as well as to analyze their impact on society and individual social groups. In this regard, the study of the problems of digitalization of education and its social results is a very important area of academic research.

However, meaningful impediments that could stifle the industry's growth are still present. The wide array of newly forming opportunities, pursued by a myriad of actors with various interests, encourages national legislatures to regulate where current international law leaves uncertainty. Such encouragement has created a landscape of conflicting national legislations, which thereby constructs an environment of regulatory competition as states vie for the attention of the NewSpace industry. This paper assesses some of the regulatory competitions already underway as well as provides insights into likely future competitions as technology improves and interest in NewSpace grows. Ultimately, this paper finds and warns of the effects of these competitions; specifically that, in many cases, the rise of regulatory competition threatens to lower the standards of governing policies. In such circumstances, this paper foresees the growing possibility of inhibiting the development of NewSpace, an unsettling outcome and a worthy cause for concern.

Electric power systems are experiencing an unprecedented technological revolution that poses operational and commercial challenges for today's electric power industry. In this context, low voltage DC microgrid technology is attracting growing interest regarding its energy efficiency and local reliability. These microgrids support the innovation and implementation of new local electricity markets such as the emergent peer-to-peer energy trading paradigm which is perceived as a promising solution for tomorrow's power grid. Although, several pilot projects are under test, research is mainly concerned with the development of hardware and software infrastructure and the design of new business models. This paper deals with the prospects for synergies between low-voltage DC microgrid technology and P2P energy trading markets. After focusing on the fundamentals and the links between both concepts, the paper surveys the most innovative peer-to-peer electricity trading projects. A multi-aspect SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats) analysis approach is conducted. Finally, the environmental impact is evaluated in a vision of sustainable and collaborative energy governance.

Artificial Intelligence (AI), applied in many fields, is the core of the fourth technological revolution. In business, AI is used for customer relationship management as applied in the autoresponder systems, i.e., chatbot. Chatbots were an essential tool in the marketing relationship as many companies applied this function to their website; hence, this study analyzed the influence of chatbots on the enterprise's integrated marketing communication (IMC) activities, resulting in impulse purchase behavior and repurchase intention behavior. The mixed research method was used, particularly the in-depth interview and the survey with 886 online consumers, who shop from the online websites with chatbots system in Vietnam as Tiki, Lazada, Sendo, excetera. The research results showed that the perceived usefulness and ease of use of chatbots have positively affected the attitude of online consumers to the IMC activities of businesses. Simultaneously, IMC leads to impulse buying as well as the repurchase intention behavior of customers. The study proposed some managerial implications for an online business to enhance the chatbot functions to consumer behaviors in the website.

Actually, COVID-19 and its variants present a big challenge for the public health security. COVID-19 is a new form of the coronaviruses characterized by a set of symptoms like laboratory and radiological symptoms, when the first case has confirmed in December 2019 in Wuhan City, as well as a new variant of this form has appeared in December 2020 in the United Kingdom. Internet of things (IoT) is a technological revolution employed in different areas in the aim to serve the asked purposes. The implementation of IoT solutions in healthcare area has several benefits such as reducing the cost of services and improving treatment results. In this paper, we present a review on the impact of IoT on this new health challenge (COVID-19 and its variants), we will focus this study on the impact of the use of IoT devices to reduce transmissions of COVID-19 and its variants.

As a measure for higher engineering education in the new era to deal with a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial reform, China’s new engineering construction is an important strategic deployment to cultivate diversified and innovative engineering talents. In order to promote the new engineering construction in an all-rounded way, talent training is the key. PurposeThe hospitality industry experienced an unanticipated challenge from the COVID-19 pandemic. However, research in this area is scarce. Accordingly, this study aims to unfold a three-angled research agenda to intensify the knowledge advancement in the hospitality sector. It proposes a theoretical framework by extending the protection motivation theory (PMT) to explain the guest’s intent to adopt artificial intelligence (AI) and robotics as a protective measure in reaction to COVID-19.Design/methodology/approachThe research is centered on outlining the pertinent literature on hospitality management practices and the guest’s transformed behavior during the current crisis. This study intends to identify a research agenda based on investigating hospitality service trends in today’s changing times.FindingsThe study sets out a research agenda that includes three dimensions as follows: AI and robotics, cleanliness and sanitation and health care and wellness. This study’s findings suggest that AI and robotics may bring out definite research directions at the connection of health crisis and hospitality management, taking into account the COVID-19 crisis.Practical implicationsThe suggested research areas are anticipated to propel the knowledge base and help the hospitality industry retrieve the COVID-19 crisis through digital transformation. AI and robotics are at the cusp of invaluable advancement that can revive the hotels while re-establish guests’ confidence in safe hotel practices. The proposed research areas are likely to impart pragmatic lessons to the hospitality industry to fight against disruptive situations.Originality/valueThis study stands out to be pioneer research that incorporated AI and robotics to expand the PMT and highlights how behavioral choices during emergencies can bring technological revolution.

Desde que aparece el internet y las nuevas tecnologías se ha dado una verdadera revolución tecnológica en las aulas. Ahí donde antes el lápiz, el papel y los libros eran los principales protagonistas, cada vez van ganando más terreno las computadoras, las tablets y las tecnologías interactivas, por lo que, en la actualidad trae ventajas para la educación cuando se introduce la tecnología en las aulas, las cuales permiten un aprendizaje más interactivo y participativo, favoreciendo el trabajo colaborativo. The authors describe how AI and robotics are influencing the nature of work, replacing many jobs and enabling managers to be less operational and more strategic in orientation. The influence of the Black Lives Matter movement and the introduction of Universal Basic Income are described. The effect of the pandemic on the human psyche, on employment, poverty, homelessness, racism, and mental illness are spelt out as well as the implications for the world of work and organisational life. The scale, speed and multi-vector development of science and technology are extremely effective in influencing legal, economic, political, spiritual, professional and other social relations. The development of information and communication technologies, the use of the Internet, the creation, storage, transmission, processing and management of information became the driving forces of the new scientific and technological revolution. This facilitates the introduction of technologies for the transmission and use of information in digital form in almost all spheres of public life, namely text data, photo, audio, video images, which are transmitted in various ways via the Internet and other systems and means of communication. One of the key elements of data transmission technologies and systems is the availability of information by which it is possible to identify their subjects and objects by their inherent identification attributes. In Ukrainian legislation, in particular in the Law of Ukraine «On Personal Data Protection», information or a set of information about an individual who is or can be identified specifically is defined as personal data. However, despite its modernity, this law still contains a number of shortcomings and uncertainties, both in terminology and in the legal mechanisms for working with data by which a person can be identified, i.e. identification data.

Digital marketing is leading the way in offering new features to reach, inform, engage, offer, and sell products and services to customers, and is expected to continue to be at the forefront of the technological revolution. The purpose of this study is to identify influential cited works in digital marketing communication (DMC) research, to determine the current status of the research on DMC, and to indicate the extent to which influential works have shaped it. This bibliometric study assesses articles published over a 12-year period in core DMC-related journals. The analysis examines 5865 citations of 141 digital-related articles in the targeted journals in the given publications using both citation and co-citation analyses. After a broad disciplinary review of key cited DMC works, this study suggests thematic insights and implications for academics and practitioners that are promising avenues for creating effective DMC.

Globally, digital disruption has accelerated in the last few years. It is argued that this technological revolution would fundamentally alter our interactions with one another, our work, and our lives. The Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) can blur the boundaries between the physical and biological worlds. Although the extent of the effect is unclear, many anticipate massive changes in the economic and educational spheres. Given the close relationship between the economy and the drivers of entrepreneurship in universities, the survival of entrepreneurial universities remains contingent on the influence and preparedness of the 4IR. This review aimed to ascertain South African entrepreneurial universities’ readiness for the 4IR. Systematic literature analysis was adopted for this study; it draws on journal articles, books as wells as online publications relating to disruptive innovation, entrepreneurial universities, and 4IR. The paper argues that there is a need for a radical overhaul of the current curriculum, as retraining lecturers to prepare for 4IR disruptions.

A major milestone in the 75-year history of the nuclear industry was the construction of a nuclear power plant for the first Soviet nuclear submarine. This article, based on the report presented at the General Meeting of the Russian Academy of Sciences on December 8, 2020, focuses on the role of science in solving this new for that time, complex, multifaceted problem. It is emphasized that collaboration between the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Navy has always resulted in effective solutions to problems of developing all types of naval forces, most intensively, submarine forces. The close interaction between scientific structures and the Navy became fully-fledged in the era of the scientific and technological revolution, which began and developed rapidly in the period characterized by confrontation between two opposing military-political blocs—the Soviet Union and the United States.

The current situation requires raising the profile of the protection of state interests from new real and potential threats, provision of information and economic security. By-gone stage of the technological revolution in the information sphere experienced by the world hobbles along serious changes in the society as a whole. The way of life of millions of people is changing. The processes of globalization affect more and more areas of activity. This is becoming relevant in the field of national security. In this area, the specifics of information security are clearly distinguished. Threats to economic and information security are very different, they cannot always be classified and systematized, because the dynamics of society and economy development constantly changes existing ones and creates new threats. Such threats include international cyber terrorism, information and financial attacks and others. The severity of the consequences of the implementation of economic threats depends not only on the strength of the source of threats that try to change the state position, but also on the unpreparedness of state systems to strike these threats. In modern unstable turbulent environment, in light of the aggravating a problem of information and economic security, it is very important to identify and assess emerging threats to economic and information security timely, and on this basis to initiate necessary measures to prevent threats, to protect information and economic interests from potential sources of danger.

The study aims at measuring the effects of information technology on the transformation of businesses in communication companies in Jordan. The study population consisted of companies' directors as well as their deputies, assistants, advisors, in addition to department managers and their assistants. The total number of the study subjects is 3 designated communication companies in Jordan; these are: Zain, Umniah, and Orange. To achieve the aim of the study, the researcher had prepared a questionnaire which comprises of 45 items covering the three factors of the independent variable (Information Technology): infrastructure, developmental environment, and executive support systems and applications, as well as the three factors of the dependent variable (Transformation of Businesses): operations, organization change, and workers' competence. In order to test the hypotheses, the following three criteria were adequately used: The Medians, the Standard Deviations, as well as the Regression Analysis. The study has reached a number of results; the most notable amongst these results is that there is a positive effect that is statistically significant of information technology on the elements of business transformation in Jordanian communication companies and all of their relating elements. High-throughput next-generation sequencing technologies have seen an increase in use in most developed countries. The translation of genomic testing into clinical practice challenges the traditional model of medical care in France and raises numerous medical, legal, ethical, organizational, and financial issues. In order to allow the population to use this revolution to its advantage, France has conceived the French Plan for Genomic Medicine 2025. Its aim is to improve health and quality of life, to organize new pathways of care and counseling, and to make decisions about insurance coverage. It has also been designed to drive innovation and promote economic growth in France by incorporating genomic medicine into the French health care system. These issues can be addressed through evaluations developed to aid the decision-making process in the context of resource scarcity. Health economists can help to resolve these resource allocation challenges by measuring the impact of this technological revolution on patients, caregivers, providers, and the health care system. In this paper, we will review challenges associated with implementing genomic testing in France. One of the pilot studies of the French Plan for Genomic Medicine 2025 will be presented as an illustration of the role of health economists in overcoming some of the challenges of this technological revolution.

The technological revolution in the recent era is adding up means of learning. The launch of 3G/4G technologies supplementing with the latest applications and software have made mobile devices an effective medium for learning. The portable devices are facilitating the newest trends of learning such as e-learning and online learning. This study aimed to explore factors affecting students’ behavioural intentions regarding the use mobile learning and to investigate the moderating role of age, gender and programs of studies in the use of mobile learning at higher education level. Data were collected from 45 students through a questionnaire. Statistical techniques like frequencies, mean, correlation coefficient, t-test and one-way ANOVA were used to analyze data. It was concluded that all respondents possessed behavioural intentions to learn through mobile devices. There was no significant difference between the behavioural intentions of male and female respondents for using mobile learning. No significant difference was observed in behavioural intensions of respondents from different age groups and respondents enrolled in different programs to use mobile learning. It is recommended that management of higher education may design and implement the use of mobile devices in learning at higher education.

That having been said, the main objective of this article is to introduce the concepts of popular culture and mass culture in order to relate them with haute couture through a case study of Balenciaga brand, which is originally a product of haute couture and nowadays has redesigned their clothes from a creative element conquering its audience in social media.

Production is diversified and it is impossible for all sectors to update and improve. The path to growth is technological innovation, knowledge progress and advancement in management. The potential areas of innovations in the industry for industrial growth identified by industry 4.0, the fourth industrial revolution. Researchers also spent over a year laying down the ground rules and an industry framework for building out Industry 4.0, including strategic concepts and processes. Industry 4.0 has become one of the world's most emerging area for academicians and policymakers. The advantages and drawbacks of Industry 4.0 are crucial as they allow companies to focus critical decisions on their deployment. This paper presents important aspects of industry 4.0 in connection with history, advantages, and challenges.

New technological revolution has brought about significant changes in technological innovation activities. The platform has become an indispensable part of the innovation ecosystem of technology-intensive enterprises, which is derived from enterprise technology sharing. The main relationship of the innovation ecosystem is competition and cooperation. We use evolutionary game theory to consider the sharing behaviour of two enterprises in terms of different implicit parameters, thereby providing insight into the design of innovation ecosystem and technology innovation platform policies that promote open and shared technological innovation.

Nowadays, Project Management is facing a more complex and dynamic environment, mostly because of the recent fourth industrial revolution, called Industry 4.0. The digitisation and the characterisation of all of the assumptions, methodologies, and processes of the Industry 4.0 can cause disruptive effects for the traditional project management and the role of the project manager. This new paradigm requires a more active role from the project manager, accompanied by new technical, contextual and behavioural competencies. In line with this, this work aims to identify the skills or competencies that the project manager must present to follow the fourth technological revolution. To accomplish this task, the most relevant concepts that are associated with industry 4.0 and with the project manager competencies are presented. From the literature review, it is possible to conclude the existence of more behavioural or soft skills associated with the 4.0 project manager profile, compared to the traditional project manager profile.

These improvements have effects on economies and societies altering the normal ways people interact and do business online. The process results in the accumulation and possible exposure of user data. The transformation has affected the policies in consumer and data protection law in place, but there is still a lot to gain on the enforcement side in the marketplace. Personal data are a new currency that drives the modern world, playing a central role in the current technological revolution. Consumer behavior patterns are now more predictable due to online ordering and data from IoT devices. Analysis of this collected data has resulted in ever more detailed profiles about individuals, which translates in greatly increasing conversion. This incentivizes software developers to equip their products and services with more and more advanced algorithms that can act on insights-based personal profiles. Usage of these algorithms can significantly influence consumer markets by altering purchasing trends. While it is evident that for example in Europe, today, consumers are increasingly becoming aware of the right to protect personal data, the impact of factors such as secret tracking, psychological profiling, can have consequences that many consumers can’t grasp. Moreover, prevalent market trends are thriving on data, but the process can create structural discrimination between consumers based on arbitrary assumptions. European empires during the 16th-century expanded their control by managing critical assets. However, presently, new technological empires are created by controlling the world’s data and deploying advanced AI’s which should be regulated. To establish a common, global framework of understanding, part of this study shall consider the consumer perception concerning tracking and surveillance. The socio-economic impact on society due to the so-called “filter bubble” created by these algorithms is subsequently be discussed together with the political and social destabilization that we are witnessing. This paper outlines how consumer laws relating to data protection, especially in Europe, are operationalized and what consumer protection is available within the digital markets. The paper concludes with the steps to systematically protect the fundamental right to privacy in the digital markets. This entails a hybrid approach that includes transparency by design and default, improved enforcement by authorities, and the possibility for consumers to proceed through class actions in order to safeguard their privacy in the existing legal framework.

The transition to the use of high technologies and related technology is the most important link of the scientific and technological revolution (STD) and scientific and technological progress (STP) at the present stage. The Republic of Kazakhstan has sufficient resources to build modern production facilities on the principles of high technology. Under scientific branches of economics is understood a group of enterprises producing homogeneous industrial products, for which there is a high share of investment costs, costs, investments in the form of research. The author studied modern types of high technologies focused on the development of industry. At our glance, in theory and in practice, it is possible to describe some types of high technology, including in the processing industry. On the basis of the studied material, we have formed priorities for the use of high technologies in the industry on the principles of greening the industry, developed targets and principles for the introduction of high technologies in industrial enterprises. The study of modern approaches to understanding the essence of high technology shows that when creating and applying in industry and other sectors of the economy it is necessary to take into account the trends associated with the transition to a well-founded based on knowledge. It should be noted that the country has enough resources to build modern production facilities based on high-tech principles: take measures to stop capital outflows, including a temporary ban on investments abroad. The authors noted that the development and application of high technologies in the practice of industrial enterprises should always be accompanied by the formation of appropriate innovation processes, directly and indirectly contributing to the rise of a new, more sophisticated industry.

The purpose of this article is to analyze the current state of application of the most common information and communication technologies in the educational process of institutions of general high school in Ukraine and in the world under the influence of information and the technological revolution to modernize. General scientific methods were used, such as analysis and synthesis, the theory of innovation by I. Schumpeter with additions by B. Twiss and M. Lapin, as well as the theory of social interaction by P. Sorokin. An empirical study was carried out on the advantages and disadvantages of the introduction of information and communication technologies in the educational process, research was carried out with 120 people, including 20 parents, 50 students and 50 teachers. As a result of the study, the basic trends of modern reform of general secondary education under the influence of information and communication technologies were investigated and the main positive and negative aspects of global information and communication trends were analyzed, as well as the consequences of incorporations as well. and delayed urgent reforms.

In the post-COVID-19 era, high-quality development will be a key characteristic of China’s economic development. Despite the disruption caused by the pandemic, China’s economy has remained on track for stable and long-term development. In the bid to drive China’s economic transition from factor-driven to innovation-driven development, it is imperative to improve total factor productivity, and that effort should focus on five key factors: urbanization and labour migration; the spillover effect of foreign technologies; human capital enhancement; scientific and technological progress; and marketization process. It is important to align with the main trends and directions of the scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation. It will be increasingly necessary to focus on developing a dominant technological system represented by next-generation information technology, biotechnology, new energy sources and new materials and to leverage key accelerators of progress, including institutional reform, market optimization and indigenous innovation in order to advance high-quality economic development.

Article analyzes predictive estimates and concepts presented by the Western intellectual community, regarding prospects for development of new trends in the global economy, caused by the fourth industrial revolution. Author draws on a variety of sources, including reports from US think tanks, works by representatives of global financial and technocratic elite, and works by American intellectuals. Methodological basis of the study is a theory of the world system of I. Wallerstein, which allows to identify dynamic and conflicting lines of interaction between two geopolitical centers of the world - the United States and China. Based on an analysis of current trends, modern experts predict revolutionary changes in modern technologies that can decisively affect socio-political stability, not only in Western countries, but in developing countries as well. Author shows that the new technological structure is changing not only sector structure of the economy, but also has a strong impact on employment. According to American analysts, new technologies can destabilize socio-political stability in any country, especially in countries where cheap labor is a traditional tool. Robotization and automation of production can become a competitive advantage of the United States and Western countries in competition with China. Article notes that Russia is only at the very beginning of technological revolution, behind big five leading countries. Overcoming its lag in the field of AI and robotics requires adoption of comprehensive measures of economic, scientific and political nature. Ignoring realities of technological progress is fraught with increase in threats to national security.

We explore major trends over the last 75 years that affect care provision to chronically ill older adults. We examine shifting demographics that have altered the nature and dynamics of family and formal care systems. Next, we identify changes in clinical health care approaches, including the rising population of chronically ill older persons and concerns about continuity of care. We conclude with an assessment of the growing impact of the technological revolution on both family and professional care.
