The study analyses contributions to Library and Information Science (LIS) by researchers representing various disciplines. How are such contributions associated with the choice of research topics and methodology? The study employs a quantitative content analysis of articles published in 31 scholarly LIS journals in 2015. Each article is seen as a contribution to LIS by the authors' disciplines, which are inferred from their affiliations. The unit of analysis is the article‐discipline pair. Of the contribution instances, the share of LIS is one third. Computer Science contributes one fifth and Business and Economics one sixth. The latter disciplines dominate the contributions in information retrieval, information seeking, and scientific communication indicating strong influences in LIS. Correspondence analysis reveals three clusters of research, one focusing on traditional LIS with contributions from LIS and Humanities and survey‐type research; another on information retrieval with contributions from Computer Science and experimental research; and the third on scientific communication with contributions from Natural Sciences and Medicine and citation analytic research. This study shares the results of a citation analysis performed on the publications of the faculty of the College of Business at a large public university in the southern United States for the years 2014–2018. The study examined articles produced by the faculty over the last five years, as well as their cited references and citing articles, in an attempt to establish a list of core journals for business and uncover potential gaps in coverage. Implications for collection development are addressed, as are the benefits for early-career librarians or those unfamiliar with the publishing behaviors of a newly assigned subject discipline. This article is a bibliometric analysis of theJournal of Business & Finance Librarianshipfrom 1990 through 2014. Authorship patterns, citations, article content, and collaboration efforts were examined and are discussed. The subgenre of business librarianship is surveyed from a bibliometric viewpoint, and the resources that helped contribute to the growth of this discipline are highlighted. Paul Duguid discusses the role of brands in supply chains, specifically in publishing and academia. He explains how brands are important in controlling any supply chain, as well as why and when brands appear and become important. He concludes with a discussion of how the Internet has changed the branding of supply chains, including the publishing supply chain, and why supply chains continue to endure. How does an academic librarian become embedded in a department or college that is reluctant to accept reference, research or instruction services from the library? In such cases, the would-be embedded librarian may have to settle for “partial” embedding, offering some services where possible and tactfully abstaining from offering others that were not well-received. Definitions of successful embedding will depend on the level of service accepted, and the librarian may become, if not fully embedded, sufficiently embedded. This article recounts the experience of a would-be embedded librarian at Saint Cloud State University's James W. Miller Library and her attempts to embed herself in the G. R.
