Normally, a health issue or an emergency needs to viewed in a multidisciplinary approach. And, thus a standard sensor-based diagnosis in the medical field, requires a greater number of sensors and human efforts if it’s processed on a large scale. To overcome this issue an IoT-based health care application is proposed in this research work. The proposed system consists of an online mobile application that supports continuous wireless monitoring of patients. The Main aim of the paper is to implement a low-cost system and send the patient vital parameters in case of emergency situations. Sensors such as ECG Monitor sensor, Heart Rate sensor, and temperature sensor are used to quantify the patient vital signs. The sensor data are collected and transferred to the cloud for storage of the IoT platform via a module which is connected to the micro controller. The information is processed within the cloud and the appropriate feedback steps are taken on the analyzed data which may be further analyzed by a doctor remotely in person. Remote viewing reduces the burden to doctors and also provides the precise health status of patients. If the patient needs urgent attention, then a message alerts is sent to the care taker or doctor. This kind of mechanism helps in taking precautions beforehand and also helps the doctor to analyze the patient in a better way. The setup is verified using simulation and various test experiments.

In Metropolitan cities, where the amount of automobile continuously expands faster than the obtainable traffic framework to support them, congestion may be a strenuous issue to affect and it becomes much worse in case of car accidents. This problem affects many aspects of contemporary society, health damages, traffic accidents, duration spent, grow in greenhouse emissions and including economic expansion. In this context, current societies can rely on the traffic management system to diminish traffic congestion and its negative chattels. In this project, we propose a traffic management system where the traffic will be monitored with all the automobiles on the road. We will track the number of automobiles entering the signal zone and will predict the traffic is high or low. Hang on the quantity of automobiles in each signal zone, the traffic signals can be automated. So that maximum amount of duration is given to more automobiles whereas the lesser duration for some automobiles. Thus this project aims at reducing the traffic and managing the signals automatically leading to the sensor less traffic management system.

The whole world is connected in the economic front through import and export of food products, drugs and medical instruments, IT Services, automobiles, Heavy Equipments and many more. After Globalization, it is needless to say that, it brings the spring back effect of exporting the deceases and viruses which are developing in the smallest region of one country to all other parts in the globe. The Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) is one of those viruses recently identified from Wuhan city of china and spread around 200 nations. It is affecting the entire world to go for a lockdown of most countries and halt its business activities like IT Sectors, manufacturing industries, transportation, Logistics, free movement of people from one place to another place inter-state and intra-state. However, there is various positive outcome due to COVID-19 on the environment. In this paper, we discuss the positive and negative impact of the lockdown. Further, we talk about the Air pollution level before and after COVID-19 and compare the average value on both sessions to understand how Coronavirus helped to restore the air quality.

BACKGROUND & OBJECTIVES: Left ventricular diastolic dysfunction is known to occur in early stages of diabetic cardiomyopathy but its exact prevalence is not known. The present study was conducted to assess the prevalence of diastolic dysfunction in diabetic patients in the absence of hypertension or CAD. The role of valsalva maneuver in diagnosis of diastolic dysfunction was also studied. AIMS: To study left ventricular diastolic dysfunction in asymptomatic normotensive patients with Type 2 Diabetes. To study the role of valsalva maneuver in diagnosing diastolic dysfunction. METHODOLOGY: 100 consecutive asymptomatic normotensive patients (mean age 52.34 ±8.6 yrs.) with Type 2 diabetes free of any major clinical diabetic complications and having no evidence of CAD on non-invasive testing were studied for LV diastolic functions, using pulsed Doppler at the tip of mitral valve. The peak velocities of LV filling during the early rapid (E wave) and atrial contraction (A wave) phases, the ratio of the 2 filling velocities (E/A ratio) were recorded at end expiration at baseline and again during phase II of valsalva maneuver. RESULTS: LVDD was found in 54% of subjects of whom 11% had pseudo normal pattern of ventricular filling and 43% had impaired relaxation. LVDD was well correlated with age and duration of diabetes. CONCLUSION: LVDD is much more common in Type 2 diabetes who are free of clinically detectable heart disease. Pseudonormal pattern may account for a significant number of patients with diastolic dysfunction and failure to recognize it may lead to significant underestimation of the true prevalence of LVDD in these patients.

This paper describes a new non-contact measurement approach in characterizing manufactured surfaces. Computer vision is applied to capture digital images of three types of anisotropic steel specimen surfaces from shaping, grinding, and polishing processes. Multiresolution wavelet decomposition is used to obtain signatures of surface profiles from the digital images. Relationships between these signatures and surface roughness parameters (Ra and Rq) are built by response surface methodology (RSM). The proposed models thus developed are suitable for predicting roughness in terms of the roughness parameters. Experimental results show that the proposed approach successfully correlates wavelet signals to Ra and Rq values. In addition, they also show repeatable gage capabilities. The proposed method is a good candidate for on-line, real-time surface roughness inspection when specimens of known surface roughness are available.

Context: Possible benefits of inverse planning. Aims: To analyze possible benefits of inverse planning intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) over field-in-field 3D conformal radiation therapy (FIF-3DCRT) and to evaluate the differences if any, between low (6 Million Volts) and high energy (15 Million Volts) IMRT plans. Materials and Methods: Ten patients with squamous cell carcinoma of oropharynx, previously treated with 6 MV step and shoot IMRT were studied. V 100 , V 33 , V 66 , mean dose and normal tissue complication probabilities (NTCP) were evaluated for parotid glands. Maximum dose and NTCP were the parameters for spinal cord. Statistical Analysis Used: A two-tailed t-test was applied to analyze statistical significance between the different techniques. Results: For combined parotid gland, a reduction of 4.374 Gy, 9.343 Gy and 7.883 Gy were achieved for D 100 , D 66 and D 33 , respectively in 6 MV-IMRT when compared with FIF-3DCRT. Spinal cord sparing was better in 6 MV-IMRT (40.963 ± 2.650), with an average reduction of maximum spinal cord dose by 7.355 Gy from that using the FIF-3DCRT technique. The uncomplicated tumor control probabilities values were higher in IMRT plans thus leading to a possibility of dose escalation. Conclusions: Though low-energy IMRT is the preferred choice for treatment of oropharyngeal cancers, FIF-3DCRT must be given due consideration as a second choice for its well established advantages over traditional conventioan technique.

Background: Mupirocin has been used for the treatment of skin infections and for the eradication of the nasal carriage of Methicillin -resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). The increased use of this antibiotic has been accompanied by its resistance, resulting in treatment failures. Objective: This study was aimed at determining the prevalences of low and high level Mupirocin resistance among the clinical isolates of Staphylococcus species which were obtained from pyogenic infections. Material and Method: Clinical samples such as wound swabs, tissues and pus which were submitted to the microbiology laboratory during a period of six months were screened for the growth of Staphylococcus species, which were identified as Staphylococcus aureus and Coagulase negative Staphylococcus species by the routine microbiological procedures. All the isolates were tested for their Mupirocin susceptibilities by using 5 and 200 μg discs and their resistance was confirmed from their Minimum Inhibitory Concentrations (MICs). Result: Out of 400 samples, 150 samples grew Staphylococcus species, of which 113 were Staphylococcus aureus and 37 were Coagulase negative Staphylococcus (CoNS). Only 5(3.3%) mupirocin resistant Staphylococcus species: three high level and two low level strains were detected. The MICs for the two low level and three high level Mupirocin resistant strains were 256 mg/L and ≥512mg/L each respectively. Conclusion: We conclude that the screening for mupirocin resistance, in terms of high-level and low-level resistance among the Staphylococcus species from patients with skin and soft tissue infections is warranted and that it is important for the clinicians in selecting the appropriate, empirical, topical, antimicrobial therapy. It also provides useful information about the prevalence of these resistant pathogens.

Oxygen free radicals produced by neutrophils are important in the pathogenesis of mucosal damage in ulcerative colitis. Vitamin A, vitamin E and cysteine in the plasma can scavenge free radicals. In the present study, plasma levels of vitamin A, vitamin E, cysteine, cystine and protein-bound cysteine were measured in active ulcerative colitis before and immediately after treatment of the active disease, and correlated with disease severity, extent and activity. Plasma vitamin A and cysteine were significantly reduced in active ulcerative colitis compared with controls. Levels of vitamin E, cystine and protein-bound cysteine were not significantly altered in active ulcerative colitis. Vitamin A and cysteine concentrations returned to normal levels (P < 0.05) within 2 weeks of treating active colitis. There were significant negative correlations between clinical severity and the plasma concentrations of vitamin A and cysteine. Plasma cysteine levels also correlated inversely to disease extent. Depletion of the circulating antioxidants, vitamin A and cysteine, in active ulcerative colitis is likely to be important in the pathophysiology of the disease.

Patients receiving growth hormone or thyroid hormone are likely to develop a slipped capital femoral epiphysis during the period of spurt in growth. While pin fixation of these hips has been the popular method of treatment, it is possible to treat Grade I slips successfully by nonoperative methods provided that protection from weight-bearing is maintained until fusion of the epiphysis is complete.
