CRM or Customer Relationship Management is a system that caters to the management of a firm’s interactions with past, present,and future customers. Since the beginning of the new millennium, traditional marketing practices have not been effective in yielding good returns. Companies have turned reluctant to spend huge advertising expenditure and marketing research –the potent tool of getting deeper insights of customer has lost its charisma. Due to enigmatic customer behavior, it becomes inevitable for the companies to develop new marketing strategies. CRM has emerged as a new marketing strategy in that tenor.This article deals with importance of CRM and customer modeling. Further it extends the constraints of CRM and how it affects the organizational change.

Oral health information provides knowledge about oral diseases and develops awareness among the public to implement preventive measures for oral related diseases. Oral health information (OHI) also needs support in terms of public health policy, education, the provision of professional monitoring and therapeutic interventions as and when necessary. In this context, a survey was conducted with the help of questionnaire to know the oral health information seeking behaviour of Pondicherry University students and those results are presented here. The study also assessed the various channels through which these students receive oral health information, identified their oral health information needs, awareness on oral health and preferred modes of delivering oral health information. The purpose of this study is to understand the importance of oral health to students and also to find out the role of Libraries and Information Centres (LICs) in providing the oral health information in Pondicherry. LICs should act as promoting agencies to deliver health care information to all the needy students. Dissemination of oral healthcare information can be made available in written, spoken or electronic form. The information could be available in the form of books, pamphlets, audio-visual or web-based forms and should be easily accessible to students and the general public.

In the era of digital world, due to constantly evolving medical technology, Artificial Intelligence (AI) propelled out of research labs into our everyday lives. Emerging developments in AI have an advantage in healthcare system as they will reduce the manual process performed by humans. Hence, AI is a game-changer in health care because when AI is combined with three-dimensional (3D) printing technologies it could increase the performance by reducing the risk of error and facilitating automated production. Nowadays, 3D printing has become an essential and potentially transformative approach to revolutionize health care rapidly. One of the objectives of this chapter is to present an overview of basic concepts of AI including machine learning, internet of things, cloud computing, and deep learning. The further dimensions will also describe types of 3D printing. A snapshot of stereolithography (SLA), which is the oldest and reliable approach in 3D printing is also described. The present chapter will also highlight the key healthcare trends impacting the 3D printing industry such as use of 3D printing to fight the pandemic outbreak COVID-19; regenerative medicine; eliminating the prerequisite for animal experimentation to confirm their efficacy and safety before human testing begins and personalized medicines. The last section encompasses key applications, challenges, and future of 3D printing, which will help the readers to understand that this emerging technology is becoming society’s most helpful tool and further may effectively use the information for their research endeavors.

We study medium access in FMCW radar networks. In particular, we propose a slotted ALOHA protocol and analyze probability of interference between radars as a function of system parameters such as total number of radars, chirp duration, number of chirps in a repetition interval, as well as medium access probability. We see that the characteristics of interference probability in FMCW radar networks are very different from those in wireless communication networks. We observe that interference probability also depends on the number of chirps in a radar packet. We further propose a notion of throughput and study its variation with various parameters. We perform extensive simulations to verify our analytical results.

We propose job scheduling algorithms to minimize job migration and server running costs in cloud computing platforms offering Infrastructure as a Service. We first consider algorithms that assume knowledge of job-size on arrival of jobs. We characterize the optimal cost subject to system stability. We develop a drift-plus-penalty framework based algorithm that can achieve optimal cost arbitrarily closely. Specifically this algorithm yields a trade-off between delay and costs. We then relax the job-size knowledge assumption and give an algorithm that uses readily offered service to the jobs. We show that this algorithm gives order-wise identical cost as the job size based algorithm. We illustrate the performance of the proposed algorithms and compare these to the existing algorithms via simulation.

We study BS scheduling for cellular downlink. We propose a drift-plus-penalty based BS scheduling algorithm that minimizes BS running and switching costs while ensuring network stability. We illustrate the performance of the proposed algorithm via simulation.

Background: The current study was undertaken to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice (KAP) of foot care among diabetes patients with foot at risk, to evaluate the impact of counselling in terms of KAP score, VPT (vibration perception threshold) value, foot examination status and other clinical parameter, to assess the severity of peripheral neuropathy in diabetes patients based on VPT value and to assess the prevalence of peripheral neuropathy among men and women.Methods: A prospective cross-sectional and interventional study was conducted in the diabetology department of a tertiary care hospital in South India. A total of 100 diabetes patients with foot at risk were selected for the study. A questionnaire was used to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice of foot care among diabetes patients with foot at risk. The questionnaire consists of total 24 questions. Their knowledge, attitude and practice were classified as good, satisfactory and poor depending upon the score. For the KAP, if score is ≥70% it was regarded as good, 50-69% as satisfactory and

We propose a class of binary queue length information based max-weight scheduling algorithms for wireless networks. In these algorithms, the scheduler, in addition to channel states, only needs to know when a link's queue length crosses a prescribed threshold. We show that these algorithms are throughput optimal. Further, we incorporate time-since-last-service (TSLS) information to improve delay and service regularity of the scheduling algorithms while ensuring throughput optimality. We also perform simulations to illustrate throughput, delay and service regularity performance of the proposed algorithms.
