This paper provides a compilation of data on the use of organic working fluids in operational Rankine engines in the United States and other countries. Primary emphasis is placed on the maximum temperatures, and on the identification of thermal instability and chemical reaction problems related to these temperatures. Data are presented for 2150 operational Rankine engines from 20 different manufacturers and using 16 different working fluids.
