Abstract

An analysis of economist Jan Tinbergen's theories on income distribution showed that inequality increased in Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development countries although no definite pattern was observed for the rates of increase. It is also argued that Tinbergen's supply and demand model of the race between technological development and education imply the existence of factors that could explain the difference between wage differentials and wage inequality.
