A study was undertaken to evaluate the effects of salt and lime treated J.curcas deoiled seed cake (JSC) on growth and haematological parameters of broiler chicken. A significant reduction in body weight, haemoglobin (Hb), packed cell volume (PCV), total leucocyte count (TLC) and total erythrocyte count (TEC) were observed in raw JSC fed birds while the salt and lime treated JSC fed group of birds showed an improvement in growth and haematological parameters with respect to toxin fed group. A study was undertaken to evaluate the biochemical and liver antioxidant effects of salt and lime treated Jatropha curcas deoiled seed cake (JSC) in broiler chicken. A significant (P<0.05) reduction in mean serum total protein, albumin, globulin and superoxide dismutase (SOD) levels and a significant increase in aspartate aminotransferase (AST), creatinine and tissue lipid peroxidation (LPO) levels were observed in raw JSC fed group in comparison to control birds.
