Abstract

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) has a worse prognosis and remains the most challenging breast cancer subtype to treat. This is largely related to the heterogeneity of this disease and the lack of reliable oncological targets. In this review, we discuss the current standard-of-care treatment options for metastatic TNBC, including recent advances with the use of immunotherapy, PARP inhibitors and antibody-drug conjugates. This review also explores new agents and novel combinations arising in the field for the treatment of advanced TNBC. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Abstract

The article presents a study which assessed the impact on survival of population-based access to new agents for the treatment of metastatic breast cancer (MBC). In the study, all patients with a first diagnosis of distant metastases in each of the time cohorts were identified and characterized, and their survival was compared. The results showed that survival in Cohort 1 and Cohort 2 was similar but survival was longer in Cohort 3.
