The article titled "Evolution of bovine leukemia virus infection in a cattle herd in the Colombian Caribbean" reports on the evolution of bovine leukemia virus (BLV) infection in a cattle herd in the Colombian Caribbean region. The study conducted in 2022 revealed a seroprevalence of 47.41%, with animals under 1 year old presenting 5.17 times less risk compared to those over 1 year old. Females showed a higher risk of seropositivity than males. Compared to a study conducted on the same farm in 2016, there was a 16.71% increase in seroprevalence. It is concluded that it is necessary to reinforce sanitary management measures to reduce the incidence of BLV infection, recommending the separation of negative animals and the elimination of positive animals.
