The article presents Chisasibi's Ancita Bugden who gave a painful account of being physically abused. Her abuse and emotional neglect led to a cycle of addiction to drugs and compulsive eating as she criticized the social services and local and regional Aboriginal governments as being full of residential-school survivors in denial on the extent to which their suffering affected their lives. She believes that religious leaders running residential schools did not represent Christian faith.
