The authors review the development of the BMS over the past 30 years divided into three decades. The previous analyses of the first and second decades are presented and commented, and then the recent full co-word analysis to all BMS research articles and ongoing research notes is presented and interpreted to provide an overall but detailed portrait of the BMS, its evolution and possible future development. The article focuses on the correspondence and co-word analysis of the articles published in the last ten years of the periodical "Bulletin de Methodologie Sociologique (BMS)." Trideux factorial correspondence analysis and Calliope co-occurrence of key word analysis have been used and applied to the data base of key words. Names of authors who have contributed in this periodical from 1993 to 2003 are also given. Some of the authors are E. Bonnet, E. Dickes, K.N. Hampton, J.J. Hox, A.C. Michalos, G. Nathan, R. Ohly, M. Peterson and others. Development of a new Windows-based program of text analysis was made, based on Leximappe-Lexinet, a method of classification using co-occurrence of key words as a measure of similitude, a method which has been previously used in the BMS. Graphs are also given in the article depicting qualitative data analysis and measurement error, which have weaker external ties.
