The article presents an interview with Gisela Heffes, a professor of Latin American literature at Rice University, who has made important contributions to the field of ecocriticism. The development of environmental humanities in Latin America is discussed, highlighting the creation of the concept of "bioecocriticism" as a combination of ecocriticism and biopolitics.
