Abstract

Research was conducted on alpha-cobratoxin usingproton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Results revealed the existence of a triple-stranded beta-sheet, a short helix and turns in the solution structure of alpha-cobratoxin. Further observations also revealed a similarity between the solution and crystal structures of alpha-cobratoxin.

Abstract

Research has been conducted on vasopressin receptors which belong to G protein-coupled receptor family. The authors have synthesized the linear and cyclic forms of the second intracellular loop of human vasopressin receptor isoform in the effort to investigate the interactions between (alpha)q/(alpha)11 G protein and receptor, and they report that these two peptides inhibit vasopressin binding to the human vasopressing receptor.
