The article presents a study to understand how the demand for agrofuel production alters the abundance of habitats to grasslands birds in the U.S. It examines the ability of alternative agrofuel crops in providing habitat for grassland birds and determines how crop placement affects grassland birds. The study finds that native perennial plants as feedstock for agrofuel have potential in providing a habitat to a wide range of grassland birds which include rare and threatened species.
