The effect of single oral administration of oil solution of hexane–ether extracts with different contents of benzo(a)pyrene and polychlorinated biphenyls on the dynamics of physiological and biochemical parameters in the liver and blood of mice proved to significantly depend on chemical composition and concentration of the extract as well as on the time period after administration. No linear dose–effect relationships have been revealed for both physiological and biochemical parameters. Administration of low doses of the extracts changed the scale and the degree of the relationship between mouse body weight and liver weight. The most substantial changes in most biochemical parameters were observed in the groups of mice administered with the lowest concentration of the extracts (5.3 × 10–5 mg/kg). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
