Muslims in general, Moroccans and Andalusians in particular, took care of the Mus'haf. In terms of the material on which it was written, the people of the Islamic West began writing the Mus'haf on parchment, which was used in the Mus'haf until recently. Then they started writing on paper since (AH 5th / AD 11th) century. As for the type of calligraphy, the Kufic script was used to write the Mus'haf until the (AH 5th / AD 11th) century, Until it was replaced by the Moroccan script. As for the ink colors, it was used black in writing, red in tashkil (signs), and yellow in the titles of the Surahs. In terms of binding, it began simple by using wooden panels that were covered in leather or fabric, and then studded with gemstones, gold and silver flakes, Then the wood panels were replaced with paper covers that were covered in leather and decorated with ornaments and gilding. The Mus'haf under study is a model of the Moroccan Mus'haf, in which the features of the manuscripts and Mus'hafs in the Islamic West are clear, Through the study of this Mus'haf, the Moroccan manuscript industry will be shed light on since its inception, following the stages of its development and monitoring its most important features. The Mus'haf under study is kept at the Abi Mohamed El Marjani Mosque in Tunis. This mosque was established during the reign of Sultan Abi Hafs Omar (683--694 AH / 1284-1294 AD) by Sheikh Abi Muhammad al-Marjani. Today, the Mus'haf is in an acceptable state of memorization - except that some of its papers were partially damaged - as it keeps all of its original pages and books, and it belongs to the pattern of the Mus'haf. The pages of the Mus'haf were written in extended Moroccan calligraphy, as well as the conclusion page, which contains the name of the calligrapher and the commander of writing the Mus'haf, and the history of the void of his writing in the Maghribic script (Fassi script). The pages of the Mus'haf were written in black ink, except for the titles of the fence and their data, and they were written in golden ink. The conclusion page also wrote a dark red supply.

Papers and old books are important part of museum collections in many museums in Yogyakarta, even some of them have very significant value and become masterpiece collections. Some old books such as from Islamic and colonial period have unique binding structures that should be preserved too as it become a historical marker. Therefore, special care for paper collections and old books should be carried out by museum conservator. Unfortunately, not all museums in Yogyakarta have professional conservator. Bear in mind that many museums in Yogyakarta has significant value of paper collection, a workshop of paper conservation was conducted on 18-19 September 2019 in Museum UGM, as a community service for museum communities in Yogyakarta. Through this workshop, participants managed to identify types of damage on paper collections, identify the cause of damage, and conduct simple interventive conservation.====Kertas dan buku tua merupakan bagian penting dari koleksi museum di banyak museum di Yogyakarta, bahkan beberapa memiliki nilai yang sangat penting dan menjadi koleksi istimewa.

Bacteriophage (phage), which are viruses that infect bacteria only, have shown promise as vehicles for targeted cancer gene therapy, albeit with poor efficiency. Recently, we generated an improved version of phage vectors by incorporating cis genetic elements of adeno‐associated virus (AAV). This novel AAV/phage hybrid (AAVP) efficiently delivered systemically administered therapeutic genes to various tumor targets by displaying an integrin tumor‐targeting ligand on the phage capsid. However, inherent limitations in bacteriophage mean that these AAVP vectors still need to be improved. One of the limitations of AAVP in mammalian cells may be its susceptibility to proteasomal degradation. The proteasome is upregulated in cancer and it is known that it constitutes a barrier to gene delivery by certain eukaryotic viruses. We report here that inhibition of proteasome improved targeted reporter gene delivery by AAVP in cancer cells in vitro and in tumors in vivo after intravenous vector administration to tumor‐bearing mice. We also show enhanced targeted tumor cell killing by AAVP upon proteasome inhibition. The AAVP particles persisted significantly in cancer cells in vitro and in tumors in vivo after systemic administration, and accumulated polyubiquitinated coat proteins. Our results suggest that the proteasome is indeed a barrier to tumor targeting by AAVP and indicate that a combination of proteasome‐inhibiting drugs and AAVP should be considered for clinical anticancer therapy., Highlights ► Proteasome in cancer is a barrier to tumor targeting by RGD4C/AAVP.► Proteasome inhibiting drugs enhance targeted gene transfer by RGD4C/AAVP.► Proteasome inhibition increases targeted cancer gene therapy by RGD4C/AAVP.► RGD4C/AAVP persistence in cancer is improved by proteasome inhibition

This paper sets out to underline the important role of Hispano-Arabic culture in the technological advances related to the different techniques of bookmaking: parchment, paper and binding. As the subject is quite broad we shall only outline a few important questions, as most of the studies in these matters, paradoxical though it may seem, have been carried outside Spain (most of them in France, as we can see by the bibliography quoted). It would therefore be very interesting if the new generations of Spanish scholars became interested in studying this subject in depth, since these advances and their expansion throughout the Mediterranean gave rise to the cultural flowering of the Renaissance.

Juraj Dalmatin’s Bible from 1584 is the first Slovene translation of a complete Bible. It is the greatest achievement of the Reformation period in Slovenia. The book is a Slovene cultural monument of the highest category and is an extraordinary work, considering both the content and the material it was made of. The copy of the Dalmatin Bible presented and analyzed in this paper was in active use for a very long time, the proof of which are the severe signs of damage caused by frequent use and inappropriate storage in the past. The conservation-restoration intervention was necessary because both the text block and the binding were badly damaged. The main purpose of the intervention was to examine the structure and materials, conserve and restore the leaves of the text block, restore the binding and conserve as much as possible the originality of the book., Dalmatinova Biblija iz 1584. prvi je slovenski prijevod cjelokupne Biblije.

A tough nut: A new approach to making biomimetic nanocomposites, involving engineered proteins (see scheme; green and blue), reinforcing graphene sheets (purple), and nanofibrillated cellulose (gray), is presented. The aligned co‐assembly of these components leads to a composite with remarkably good mechanical properties, which potentially arises from the role of the adhesive matrix proteins.

Major commercial bookbinding technique used today is perfect binding (or adhesive binding), originally used for paperback books. In perfect binding, adhesive is used to attach the pages of a book together and attach the book cover. One of most important criterion for adhesive binding is strength over the whole length of a book leaf. It is known that adhesion strength is function of the bond between the leaf and adhesive and total sum of material contact area. The subjects of research are physical properties of paper that have impact on different general sources of binding strength. The tests were performed with constant parameters of binding process and two chemically different types of paper.

International audience; Pycnoporus cinnabarinus laccase was fused to the C-terminal linker and carbohydrate binding module (CBM) of Aspergillus niger cellobiohydrolase B (CBHB). The chimeric enzyme of molecular mass 100 kDa was successfully produced in A. niger. Laccase-CBM was further purified to determine its main biochemical properties. The Michaelis-Menten constant and pH activity profile were not modified, but the chimeric enzyme was less thermostable than either the P. cinnabarinus laccase or the recombinant laccase produced in the same strain. Laccase-CBM was able to bind to a cellulosic substrate and, to a greater extent, to softwood kraft pulp. Binding to the pulp was shown to be mainly time and temperature-dependent. Laccase-CBM was further investigated for its softwood kraft pulp biobleaching potential and compared with the P. cinnabarinus laccase. Addition of a CBM was shown to greatly improve the delignification capabilities of the laccase in the presence of 1-hydroxybenzotriazole (HBT). In addition, ClO2 reduction using 5 U of chimeric enzyme per gram of pulp was almost double than that observed using 20 U of P. cinnabarinus laccase per gram of pulp. We demonstrated that conferring a carbohydrate binding capability to the laccase could significantly enhance its biobleaching properties
