Sûfîsm represents a rich spiritual tradition that holds a significant place both historically and in contemporary contexts. An in-depth and comprehensive examination of Sûfîsm is crucial for understanding its impact on Islamic thought and culture. This study examines the multifaceted nature of Sûfîsm and its position within other disciplines through bibliometric analysis. The objective of this research is to comprehend the scope, distribution, and impact of academic works related to the concept of Sûfîsm, identify prominent studies and authors in this field, and reveal the changes in academic literature on sûfîsm over time. Analyses conducted on 1601 articles, accessed through the Web of Science database using the keyword "Sûfîsm," aim to achieve these objectives. The results show that these articles, spread across 76 different subject areas and 81 different countries, are most frequently published in the field of religion and predominantly in the United States. Notable figures include Arin S. Salamah-Qudsi from the University of Haifa, while Annemarie Schimmel is the most cited author. The journal publishing the most articles on sûfîsm is the Journal of Sûfî Studies, based in the Netherlands. The trend of studies, which started in 1974 and particularly increased after 2005, indicates a growing interest in sûfîsm in recent years. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
