Sûfîsm represents a rich spiritual tradition that holds a significant place both historically and in contemporary contexts. An in-depth and comprehensive examination of Sûfîsm is crucial for understanding its impact on Islamic thought and culture. This study examines the multifaceted nature of Sûfîsm and its position within other disciplines through bibliometric analysis. The objective of this research is to comprehend the scope, distribution, and impact of academic works related to the concept of Sûfîsm, identify prominent studies and authors in this field, and reveal the changes in academic literature on sûfîsm over time. Analyses conducted on 1601 articles, accessed through the Web of Science database using the keyword "Sûfîsm," aim to achieve these objectives. The results show that these articles, spread across 76 different subject areas and 81 different countries, are most frequently published in the field of religion and predominantly in the United States. Notable figures include Arin S. Salamah-Qudsi from the University of Haifa, while Annemarie Schimmel is the most cited author. The journal publishing the most articles on sûfîsm is the Journal of Sûfî Studies, based in the Netherlands. Bu çalışma, VOSviewer yazılımının temel niteliklerini, kullanım alanlarını ve yazılım aracılığıyla bibliyometrik analizlerin nasıl yapıldığını ve bu yazılımın sağladığı avantajları ele almaktadır. Bibliyometrik analizler, belirli bir araştırma alanındaki eğilimleri, ilişkileri ve gelişmeleri anlamak için kullanılan önemli bir analiz tekniğidir. VOSviewer, büyük miktarda veriyi görsel bir temsile dönüştürme kapasitesi ile diğer araçlardan ayrılmaktadır. VOSviewer, bilimsel yayınlar, dergiler, yazarlar ve anahtar kelimeler gibi çeşitli ağları oluşturarak, bu ağlardaki öğelerin birbirleriyle olan bağlantılarını analiz etmektedir. Objective: Bibliometric studies prepared by evaluating publication numbers, citation numbers and h-indexes are studies that show the production in the field of science. By conducting a study on pain medicine specialists in Türkiye, the study aimed to determine the Hirsch Index (h-index) ratings, number of citations, and number of publications ratings using the Scopus database and to assess the impact of the gender, institution, and title on these parameters. Methods: Pain physicians were identified via the Health Care Provider App Physician search tool, Council of higher education academic search tool, and websites of the institutions. This was followed by the determination of the h-index ratings, number of citations, and number of publications using the Scopus database. Results: Of the 274 pain physicians evaluated in the present study, 139 (50.7%) were female and 135 (49.3%) were male. The mean number of publications was 38.76 ± 32.53, the mean number of citations was 543.48 ± 987.16, and the mean h-index value was 9.51 ± 6.85. 173 (63.1%) of the algologists were working as professors, 16 (5.8%) as associate professors, 12 (4.4%) as assistant professors and 73 (26.6%) as specialist doctors. Of the total physicians, 173 (63.1%) were professors, 16 (5.8%) were associate professors. The mean of the number of publications and citations, and the mean h-index value of the professors were found to be significantly higher than those of other physicians (p<0.05). No significant difference was found between the male and female pain physicians with respect to these parameters (p>0.05). Conclusion: Our study is the first in our country to evaluate the number of publications, number of citations and hindexes, which are important bibliometric parameters that show the scientific production of algologists. It was determined that the number of female pain physicians was higher, whereas the publishing activities and mean h-index values of male academicians were higher. Aim: This study aimed to evaluate the position of Turkey in the field of Medical Informatics and assess the general structure of research by analyzing Medical Informatics research with bibliometric methods. Material and Methods: In this study, we conducted a bibliometric analysis of research and review articles generated between 1980 and 2023 from the Web of Science bibliometric data source, utilizing bibliometric methods through the R bibliometrix tool and VosViewer. Results: In the field of medical informatics research in Turkey, the country holds the 27th position with 905 articles, 15,610 citations, and an impressive impact factor of 51, along with an average citation rate of 17.25 per article, based on bibliometric analysis conducted between 1980 and 2023. Notable institutions in this field include Middle East Technical University, Hacettepe University, and Selçuk University. The prominent research topics encompass "neural network(s), machine learning, support vector, health care, decision support, deep learning, EEG signals, classification accuracy," reflecting the areas of intensive investigation. Conclusion: In Turkey, the field of medical informatics has lagged slightly behind basic engineering sciences or medical sciences. The domain exhibits a multidisciplinary structure intersecting with various engineering fields such as computer science, software engineering, industrial engineering, artificial intelligence engineering, and electronic engineering. To enhance productivity in this field, greater collaboration with other research areas can be pursued. Additionally, it is recommended to urgently establish four-year undergraduate programs specifically dedicated to medical informatics or health informatics at universities.

In this study, it is aimed to reveal the bibliometric profile of graduate (master's and doctorate) studies written on "Medical and Aromatic Plants" in Türkiye in terms of various criteria. For this purpose, the thesis search engine of the Council of Higher Education (CoHE) was searched with the keywords "medical and aromatic plants, aromatic plants and medical plants” in Turkish. As a result of the scanning, 149 graduate theses were identified and 7 of these theses are not open to access. Of the 142 theses, 118 are master's thesis, 23 are doctoral thesis, and 1 is a specialization in medicine. 42% of the graduate theses were conducted under the advisor of professors. The theses were written in many different universities and departments. It has been determined that biology is the subject most covered in graduate theses. Four graduate theses were written in English. 36% of the graduate theses used between 51-100 references. Foreign references were used more in the majority of theses. 77% of the theses were written in the range of 51-150 pages. Quantitative method was used as a method in the majority of theses. In terms of keywords, there is not keywords were used in 8 theses. The most frequently used keywords are medicinal plant(s), medicinal and aromatic plant(s) and aromatic plant(s), respectively. This study guides scientists who want to work on medicinal and aromatic plants.

In this study, it was aimed to analyze the bibliometric properties of 501 ḥadīth-themed research articles scanned in the WOS database between 2005 and 2023. In this way, it is thought that the study will guide future articles on ḥadīth. The indexes in which the 501 research articles that make up the data set of the study were scanned were generally determined as the SSCI, AHCI and ESCI indexes. As a method, the following study method was followed: The data set on which the study was based was taken from the Web of Science database with the keyword "Ḥadīth". The resulting Bibtext output was visualized in the R Studio bibliometrics application and divided into headings according to certain parameters in line with the questions of the study. One of the most important outcomes of this study was determined as the answer to the following question: What is the place of Turkish theologians and theology journals in ḥadīth research in the world? The importance of this study is to be able to make predictions and suggestions about the future of ḥadīth studies in the world by being familiar with their past. The most important result of the study can be mentioned as follows: Turkish theologians have reached a remarkable level in terms of productivity and therefore quantity of publications in the field of ḥadīth. However, Turkish theologians, who have their names written on the longest lines of the graphs, are far behind in terms of influence in the field in question. This study examines Turkey’s contributions to information science and assesses the visibility of Turkey-addressed information science articles in the literature in terms of their citations. In other words, Turkey’s quantitative contributions to the information science literature are compared through citations, taking peer articles into account. The primary dataset used in the research was obtained through Web of Science and includes 600 Turkey-addressed information science articles. The findings of the study reveal that Turkey-addressed information science articles are produced by researchers from various disciplines. The conducted study can be seen as an attempt to establish a metric based on the provided data. Despite having many aspects open to criticism, the proposed metric allows each discipline to gauge its own effectiveness and position within its field based on the number of citations received compared to its peers. The conceptual background of the research, which relies on a previously completed postgraduate thesis, defines “peer articles” as articles published in the same issue of a journal, while “peer article citation impact” categorizes an article based on the number of citations it receives compared to its peers. To bring a different perspective on the subject and to contribute to the discussions to be made, especially in the context of the research evaluation literature, which is thought to have developed rapidly but not in a healthy way in Turkey recently, is among the targets of this study. Increasing production and consumption phenomenon in the contemporary period; It has raised concerns about resource depletion and sustainability. When consumers reach a certain level of satisfaction within the capitalist system, their awareness of sustainability increases, and they begin to tend towards conscious consumption. This shift highlights the importance of electronic word-of-mouth marketing (eWOM), where ordinary consumers share their experiences. This study aims to descriptively and quantitatively analyze the existence of academic research on eWOM in the last 20 years. 1642 articles published in the Web of Science (WoS) database between 2003 and 2023 were comprehensively analyzed using bibliometric methods. The analysis revealed that there has been a remarkable increase in eWOM publications since 2009. In particular, "Flieri R" stands out as the most prolific author on eWOM with 17 academic studies. Among the journals, "Sustainability" journal has the highest number of publications with 63 articles. The changes taking place in the world, along with development, have resulted in resources becoming increasingly scarce and deformed. Apart from the ecological consequences of this deformation, its social and economic consequences have now entered the discussion areas of scientists and practitioners, and how to combat it has begun to be investigated. While sustainability comes to the fore in order to rebuild the future completely and completely, a new and different leadership model is required that can ensure this and manage the process. This leadership model is "sustainable leadership". This study aims to analyze the concept of sustainable leadership, which plays a leading role in ensuring sustainability, to draw its conceptual framework and to determine how it will evolve in the future. For this purpose, the data obtained using the WoS database was mapped using VoSViewer software. As a result of the analysis, it was concluded that there is an increasing trend in publication and citation performance regarding the sustainability literature regarding performance analysis, and although the cooperation between authors is low in the social structure analysis, there is strong cooperation between countries and universities. Abstract Objective: Percutaneous discectomy is an important issue in the field of neurosurgery. However, the outputs of scientific publications on this subject are not known. The goal of this study was to add to the body of knowledge by performing a bibliometric analysis of the original scientific studies on percutaneous discectomy that have been published since 1970. Material and Method: The literature review was done using the Web of Science database. All articles and citations related to percutaneous discectomy containing the keywords Mesh were searched in the "title" section of the search engine. The articles produced by the countries and their developments was analyzed. The Vosviewer program was utilized to map the coauthorship, keywords, etc. of the articles. Results: There was 619 articles between 1983-2021. The first articles were published in 1983 (3 articles). Nearly 73% of the articles have been published since 2000. The leading country on percutaneous discectomy was the People's Republic of China (n=264, 42.649%). Corresponding authors from China, South Korea, the United States of America (USA), Japan and Germany were the most productive authors. The publications from China had 2237 citations (8.47 per article), the publications from South Korea had 3483 citations (34.49 per article). Wooridul Spine Hospital (South Korea) was the mostly publishing affiliation. Conclusion: Future research on percutaneous discectomy will be able to benefit from the data collected in this bibliometric study. The majority of the publications originated from China, followed by South Korea and the USA. The number of publications from other countries around the world was very limited. These numbers need to be increased.

This study aims to provide a descriptive analysis of the research output of the accounting audit literature. The metadata obtained by the queries made on the Web of Science (Wos) database using the keywords "audit" and "auditing" was analyzed and evaluated using the "R" library "Bibliometrix". As a result of the first query conducted on the database, metadata of 11940 scientific publications was obtained. The data set covers the years 1999-2021 and includes scientific studies from 1886 different sources. The data set only includes scientific articles and conference papers written in English and Turkish. The growth in the audit literature between the relevant years has been determined as 13.40%. The study findings show that the United States is the most productive country in the field of auditing. The most productive institution in the field has been identified as Monash University. The most productive researchers in the specified period were Warren Robert Knechel, Kannan Raghunandan, Ferdinand A. Gul, and Jean Bedard, and the authors with the highest number of citations were Jere Francis, Kannan Raghunandan, Joseph Carcello, Warren Robert Knechel, and Mark L. DeFond. Edward Deci ve Richard Ryan tarafından geliştirilen bireyin eylemlerini veya durumlarını herhangi bir dış baskı olmaksızın kendi başına belirlemesi olarak ifade edilebilen öz belirleme teorisinden, ağırlıklı olarak psikoloji ve eğitim alanında yararlanılmaktadır. Bunun yanı sıra, yeni bir teori olmasına rağmen, rekreasyon tercihlerinin anlaşılması ve açıklanması bakımından önemli bir rol üstlenmektedir. Çalışmanın amacı, Ryan ve Deci’nin öz belirleme teorisinden yararlanan çalışmaların bibliyometrik analizini yaparak, teoriye yönelik turizm ve rekreasyon alanında yapılan akademik çalışmaların sistematik bir biçimde değerlendirilmesi, teorinin kullanım sıklığını ortaya koyarak rekreasyon olguları ile ilişkisini ve yeterliliğinin açıklanması hedeflenmekte ve gelecek çalışmalar için yönlendirici katkılar sunmaktır. Çalışmanın örneklemini; Scopus veri tabanında, teorinin ortaya atıldığı 1980 yılı ile günümüz 2022 yılı arasında, “Öz belirleme Teorisi-Self determination Theory” ve “Ryan, Deci” anahtar kelimelerini “başlık” ve “anahtar kelime” olarak kullanan 8.849 adet çalışma oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma verilerinin analizinde, frekans analizinden ve VOSviewer istatistik programından yararlanılmıştır. Veriler farklı başlıklar altında sınıflandırılarak yorumlanmıştır. Çalışmada elde edilen bulgulara göre 1980-2022 yılları arasında, “Rekreasyon-Recreation” ve “Öz belirleme Teorisi-Self determination Theory” anahtar kelimelerinin kullanıldığı 514, “Turizm-Tourism” ve “Öz belirleme Teorisi-Self determination Theory” anahtar kelimelerinin kullanıldığı 438 çalışma tespit edilmiştir.

Üniversitelerin performanslarını ölçmek için çeşitli metrikler kullanılmaktadır. Yayın performansının ölçülmesi bu metriklerin en yaygın olanlarından biridir. Bu çalışmanın amacı üniversitelerin akademik performanslarının bibliyometrik verilere dayalı olarak incelenmesine ilişkin örnek bir model ortaya koymaktır. Bu bağlamda Van Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesinin uluslararası yayın performansını bibliyometrik ve betimleyici analizler kullanarak bilimsel haritalama ve performans analizi kapsamında incelenmiştir. Veri seti Web of Science (WOS) veri tabanı üzerinden mensup olunan kurum bilgisi Van Yüzüncü Yıl Üniversitesi olan tüm araştırmalar içerisinden yalnızca makaleler filtrelenerek 8734 sonuç kullanılarak oluşturulmuştur. Araştırma 2022 yılı Nisan ayına kadar olan SCI/SCI-Expanded, SSCI, ESCI ve AHCI indekslerinde taranan makalelerinin bibliyometrik verilerini kapsamaktadır. En çok yayın yapılan dergiler, WOS araştırma alanları, anahtar sözcükler ve metin verilerine dayalı bibliyometrik haritalar incelendiğinde araştırmaların çoğunlukla Sağlık ve Fen Bilimleri alanlarında gerçekleştirildiği belirlenmiştir. Ortak yazarlı çalışmalardaki ortaklıklar incelendiğinde yayınların önemli bir kısmının çok yazarlı olduğu ve ortakların YYÜ ve yakın coğrafyadaki kurumlarda görev yaptığı bulunmuştur. Özellikle gelişmiş ülkeler ile uluslararası ortaklı araştırmaların yayın atıf oranlarının diğerlerine kıyasen yüksek olduğu bulunmuştur. Buna göre uluslararası ortaklıkların nitelik açısından çalışmalara katkısının olduğu da aşikârdır. Bu araştırmada YYÜ, bibliyometrik verilere dayalı olarak performans değerlendirilmesi kapsamında örnek bir durum olarak ele alınmıştır. Gelecek araştırmalarda hedef performansı sergileyen bir üniversite ile karşılaştırmalı olarak bibliyometrik analizlerinin yapılmasının karar vericilere daha fazla bilgi sunabileceği düşünülmektedir.

ABSTRACT Background: Bibliometric studies can direct academics. There have been many specialties and subspecialties where bibliometric analyses have been published, but our literature search yielded no bibliometric analysis of the frozen elephant trunk (FET) procedure. The primary objective of this study was to identify the most frequently referenced papers on FET procedure research and investigate the research trends. Methods: A dataset of all scientific journals published in the English language was created using the Web of Science (WOS) database. This search was then cross-referenced with a comparable search phrase query of the Scopus Library database in order to locate any publications that could have been overlooked during the first search. Citation counts were used to rank the articles. Also knowledge maps were created using VOSviewer software, and articles and reviews pertaining to the FET procedure in CVDs were taken from the WOS Core Collection. Results: A total of 484 documents on Scopus and 494 documents on WOSpertaining to the FET procedure were included in this study. The leading countries that published most of the research were Germany, Japan, and Italy in both databases. The largest subset of the FET procedure articles was published since 2012. The most cited authors were Karck, Shrestha, and Uchida. The mean Hirsch index of the articles was 40 and 10.47 per article. Conclusion:This study offers information on the traits and standards of the FET procedure literature that has received the most citations, as well as a ranking of the most important sources for this procedure. This work provides as a guide to what constitutes a citeable FET procedure publication by offering the most important references and mostly publishing journals.

The aim of this study is a bibliometric analysis master's, doctorate, proficiency in art and expert theses written on the discipline of music. The findings are disaggregated by years, universities, institutes, types, subjects, and number of supervisors. In this respect, all dissertations were screened within the Thesis Search Center of Turkish Council of Higher Education with the keyword "Music" in the title of the dissertations and the last access date on 31.12.2018. In total, 1952 theses having those conditions were reviewed. The study is a "descriptive analysis" conducted in screening model with situation determination nature. The data obtained according to the problem statement were tabulated in frequency (f) and percentage (%). As a result, the most and least theses were detected in years 2018 (181 theses) and 1983 (1 thesis), respectively, for the period of "1983-2018". Meantime, the total number of institutes were found 88, while the one with most theses was Gazi University with 348 theses. Social Science Institutes were the most preferred type of institutes among others for music theses. Seventy-one different sub-topics were covered by the theses in Social Science Institutes, "music education" by being the top with 821 dissertations. This research aims to make a bibliometric analysis of postgraduate dissertations on social marketing. Although there are bibliometric studies on marketing and marketing types, no such research has been found on social marketing. It may therefore be beneficial to those who wish to conduct research in the field of social marketing in the future. This research analyzed 53 social marketing postgraduate theses with different parameters through the National Thesis Center of the Council of Higher Education Institutions between 1989 and 2022. The first thesis on social marketing was published in 1989 and Marmara University did the most thesis in this field. The quantitative research design was generally preferred in theses, mostly done at the master's level. Frequency analysis has emerged as an analysis technique in the postgraduate theses examined. Social marketing words were used the most in keywords. Most of the theses made so far have been conceptually associated with social responsibility, although they lacked a theoretical background. This research is limited to postgraduate theses on social marketing only. Suggestions and discussions were made for possible future research and scientific development of the social marketing field. Scientific knowledge has become a fundamental and integral part of individuals' daily lives. Science news in conventional and digital media is an important source of information for individuals. In this sense, the media has a central role as a guide in conveying scientific developments. Science journalists make complex topics and scientific research understandable for audiences at different levels. In this sense, developments in the field of science are shared through the media to the general public. The public has a keen interest in new treatments and technological developments, especially in medical issues. The aim of this study is to provide an overview of the leading trends in science journalism based on specific bibliometric indicators. For this purpose, articles related to science journalism scanned in the Web of Science database are analyzed. The study uses the VOSviewer program for bibliometric analysis. As a result, it is determined that 190 articles related to science journalism in the field of communication are scanned in the Web of Science database. It is seen that 53 of these articles were published by researchers in the United States of America. It is noteworthy that there is no study from Turkey among these articles. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study aims to introduce bibliometric methods which are commonly used to analyze academic publications and their production processes. In this context, the study provides concise theoretical information on bibliometric methods by emphasizing the increasing demand for these methods. Afterwards, the concepts of publication count, citation count, h-index, bibliographic matching, co-citation analysis, co-word association networks, co-authorship networks, thematic map and threefield graph are introduced.
