One of the most widely used measures of scientific impact is the number of citations. However, due to its heavy-tailed distribution, citations are fundamentally difficult to predict but can be improved. This study was aimed at investigating the factors and parts influencing the citation number of a scientific paper in the otology field. Therefore, this work proposes a new solution that utilizes machine learning and natural language processing to process English text and provides a paper citation as the predicted results. Different algorithms are implemented in this solution, such as linear regression, boosted decision tree, decision forest, and neural networks. The application of neural network regression revealed that papers' abstracts have more influence on the citation numbers of otological articles. This new solution has been developed in visual programming using Microsoft Azure machine learning at the back end and Programming Without Coding Technology at the front end. Diabetes Mellitus (DM) causes global exhaustion, consumes economic resources, and has several risk factors. The bibliometric studies re-evaluate the research efforts on this illness using mathematical and statistical tools to indicate current research and future trends. This study examines KSA's DM research during 2010-2021. Data were acquired from Scopus and analyzed using VOSviewer and MS Excel. Several characteristics were examined to measure the quantity and quality of KSA-related DM articles. In total, 1,919 journal and conference papers were published. DM research included researchers from multidisciplinary sectors. Thirty-seven percent of them have ten or more scientific publications. Al-Daghri, N.M. (King Saud University) leads the pack. In total, 757 (39.44%) research projects got funding from 159 sources within and outside KSA. Memish, Z.A. is the most cited author. The Saudi Medical Journal has the most citations (1214). Al-Daghri, N.M. (KSU) collaborates the most. One hundred forty-one nations aided KSA's diabetes research. Egypt's High Institute of Public Health has the most scientific collaboration with KSA. Authors' and all Keywords analyses indicated a rich knowledge structure. Diabetes Care Journal has the most cocitations with 2,220 and a total link strength of 19,283, followed by The New England Journal of Medicine. Aim: To perform a comprehensive bibliometric analysis encompassing all articles published on periodontics from Saudi Arabia. Materials and Methods: Using the Scopus database on June 8, 2023, the search term "PeriodonticFNx01" was entered in the primary search bar to extract all documents published on periodontics. Following, the year filter was applied to include articles published from the earliest available date until the date of data collection, excluding 2023. Next, we used the country/region filter to limit our documents to Saudi Arabia (n = 1929). We used Microsoft Excel (v.16) to examine periodical growth, collaboration patterns, influential institutions, frequently used sources, international research collaboration, and most-cited papers. Results: Saudi Arabia ranked 11th in periodontics research, contributing 3.43% to the global research output, reaching a peak of 7.63% in 2022. Notably, there was significant growth observed during the last 5 years of the study, with an average of 232.8 documents per year. The analysis of citations revealed that the selected documents received an average of 13.39 citations per document. Indigenous literature received less citation on average compared to internationally collaborated documents. King Saud University ranked first among the most productive institutions in Saudi Arabia, accounting 40.74% of the total output. The Journal of Contemporary Dental Practice published the highest number of documents, followed by the Saudi Dental Journal and the Journal of Periodontology. In terms of citation impact, the Journal of Periodontology emerged as the most influential, with an average of 32.83 citations per document. Research collaboration was most prevalent with researchers from the United States (22.03%), although Germany ranked first in terms of citation impact. Conclusion: Saudi Arabia's contribution to periodontics research has shown significant growth in recent years. The study of children’s disability has gained significant attention worldwide due to its impact on individuals, families, and societies. As a rapidly developing country, Saudi Arabia has also witnessed an increased interest in understanding and addressing children’s disability. This review paper aims to conduct a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of the scientific research focused on children’s disability in Saudi Arabia. The analysis aims to identify the publication trends, research topics, influential authors, and critical collaborations within this domain. A systematic literature search was performed using electronic databases, including PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science. The search terms used were related to children’s disability and Saudi Arabia. The inclusion criteria encompassed peer-reviewed articles published between 2000 and 2022, written in English, and focusing on children’s disability research in Saudi Arabia. The retrieved articles were analyzed using bibliometric techniques, including co-authorship analysis, journal analysis, and keyword analysis. The bibliometric analysis revealed a growing interest in children’s disability research in Saudi Arabia over the past two decades. A total of 1050 articles met the inclusion criteria and were included in the analysis. The analysis showed an increasing number of publications over time, indicating the expanding focus on this research topic. The key research areas identified included assessing and diagnosing disabilities, interventions and therapies, educational support, and social inclusion of children with disabilities. The analysis also identified prominent researchers and institutions contributing to this field. The bibliometric analysis provides a comprehensive overview of the scientific research landscape on children’s disability in Saudi Arabia. It highlights the increasing attention and research efforts in this area. The integration of the Internet and communication technologies has improved our lives in numerous ways. To date, the Internet of Things has evolved the healthcare industry from healthcare 1.0 to 4.0 which is known as the MIoT. In Healthcare 4.0, data is shared among multiple stakeholders through the use of cloud computing, fog computing, and telehealth. MIoT devices and technology's interconnected, heterogeneous nature raises new concerns about access to confidential patient data, which is often done without patients' or medical staff's knowledge. This is because security and privacy concerns for MIoT devices and technology are frequently ignored or undermined by relevant stakeholders. Medical IoT security and privacy are becoming increasingly important as a result of the increasing number of security breaches targeting the MIoT in healthcare. To impartially reveal the research scenario of Security of MIoT biblioshiny and VOS viewer software are used to conduct a quantitative assessment of research papers belonging to this field for the period 2012-2021 in the Web of Science (WoS) and Scopus databases. From the results, it is seen that for the past 10 years, the sum of articles on Security of MIoT has increased. This research domain covers 35 territories. MIoT, Security, Privacy, authentication, access control are the most often used keywords in this field of research in recent years. The research flashpoints in the field primarily emphasize research directions such as the, the security and privacy concerns related to MIoT sensor data and how to get rid of them. The top five nations considering research volume are the China, India, Saudi Arabia, USA, and Korea, but a lack of collaborative work amongst these countries is seen. Endodontics is a subdivision of dentistry that deals with diseases and injury of the soft tissues inside the teeth. The current study aimed to investigate the bibliometric properties of endodontics publications contributed by Saudi Arabia from 2010 to 2022. The quantitative bibliometric research method was applied to the meta-data retrieved from the Web of Science on December 7, 2022. The word Endodonti* was written in the main search bar, and from the year's filter, selected starting year 2010 to the date of data collection. In the first phase, to access the global publication growth of endodontics, no country/region filter was used. After getting the summary of the global intellectual landscape, we selected Saudi Arabia from the country/region filter to analyze certain characteristics of endodontics documents. Periodical growth, accessibility modes, collaboration patterns, influential institutions, frequently used sources, international research collaboration, and most-cited documents were analyzed by using Microsoft Excel (v.16) and SPSS (v.20). The authors affiliated with Brazil contributed the highest number of documents and Saudi Arabia stood in the eighth rank in endodontics research. The growing tendency was observed in Saudi Arabia from 1.29% in 2010 to 7.60% in 2022 from a global perspective. The quality of nonopen-accessed documents was higher than open-accessed as per citation impact, similarly, the documents written on international collaboration got a higher ratio of citations compared with national collaboration. King Saud University was found the most prolific institution and the Journal of Endodontics was the most preferred source of publications. The maximum research collaboration at the international level was performed with the authors of the United States. Fifteen most-cited papers obtained 21.42% of the citations. The findings show that endodontics research in Saudi Arabia has increased significantly over the years. The research collaboration at the national level has increased, which shows that teams of national researchers in endodontics have been prepared and conducting valuable research in a national context. Arabian Journal for Science and Engineering (AJSE) is a rapidly growing multidisciplinary academic journal that publishes original contributions in the Science disciplines of Biological sciences, Chemistry, Earth Sciences, and Physics, and in the Engineering disciplines of Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Petroleum Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Systems Engineering, and along with a Theme Issue on specific topic. This study uses bibliometric tools to present a retrospective analysis of research productivity during 1977–2021. The bibliometric method used to analyze AJSE's published papers based on annual growth, citation pattern, prolific authors, country, organization, funding agencies, author keyword, authorship patterns, theme analysis, most cited papers, cited references, and international collaborations. The result shows that AJSE has grown noticeably from 1977 to 2021 in total publications and citations, reaching 7658 papers and 33,846 citations. India (TP: 1324) is the country with the more number of papers contributed. King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals (TP: 838) found as the most contributing organization to the AJSE publications. Zhang L identified as the most prolific author with 28 publications. The most important author keywords are Optimization, Adsorption, Genetic algorithm, and Mechanical properties. Saudi Arabia and Egypt collaborated in the maximum number of AJSE research papers. This is the first bibliometric investigation of AJSE scientific literature since its establishment. Overall, the findings provide useful information to the AJSE editorial board. Its retrospective review will likely encourage readers of the journal and help the editorial team formulate research agendas and inform research strategies that will enable research scientists to contribute high-quality research papers to the AJSE. The purpose of the paper is to report the findings of Saudi researchers' academic performance on the topic of COVID-19. In addition, the paper explored the contribution of Saudi Arabia in the area and how Saudi Arabia is doing compared to other Arab countries The study adopted bibliometrix R to map the literature on the topic published by Saudi scholars. A total number of 3242 documents were retrieved from the Web of Science database and examined Using the software to mine information about journals, articles, authors, citations, keywords and countries. The analysis revealed that Saudi scholars had published a fair amount of COVID-19 studies in a small timespan. Scholars from Saudi Arabia have initiated a strong collaboration with other researchers worldwide. The data revealed that Saudi scholars have collaborated with scholars All over the world. Overall, Saudi Arabia had its share of global contribution on the subject (19th place). Contribution from Saudi Arabia was found to be affiliated to other countries, especially the USA and Egypt The study focused only on Saudi scholars' productivity in the field of COVID-19. More research needs to be done in order to find how Arab scholars are progressing with COVID-19 research. Additionally, the study only used the Web of science to retrieve the data. Using Scopus might give us more understanding of the scholars' productivity in the field. Introduction: The purpose of this study was to compare the progress of research outcomes specifically of three old and new established Saudi medical research journals: Saudi Journal of Medicine and Medical Sciences (SJMMS), Journal of Saudi Heart Association (JSHA), and Journal of Infection and Public Health (JIPH) for the period of 2013 to 2017. Materials and Methods: Scientific papers under the titles of original and review articles, short communications, case and short reports were downloaded from the websites of these journals. The data was analyzed according to three parameters: the growth of publication, the types of publication, and the authorship pattern. Results: The findings of the study revealed that 827 articles were contributed by 3808 authors with an average of 4.6 authors per article, and 12.9% articles were published in 64 issues of SJMMS (n=600, 15.7%), JSHA (n=951, 24.9%), and JIPH (n=2257, 59.2%) during 2013-2017. The majority of articles (n=746, 90.2%) included more than one author, leaving only 81 articles (9.7%) were prepared by single (or solo) authors. The authors have been collaborated with national and international authors for their scholarly work. Conclusions: The comparison of bibliometric indicators of the three medical journals showed the rising tendency of research publications and the high rate of collaborative research output. These journals contributed a massive number of research papers during the period of five years. Collaboration among researchers facilitates sharing knowledge and techniques and brings a mixture of positive scientific thoughts. The paper examines the global scientific literature on Molecular Docking (MD). MDis a keyapproachusedinbioinformatics to identify and developnovel compounds towards drug discovery. This study uses the bibliometric method to analyze scientific data covered in the Scopus database from 2013 to 2022 using MS Excel, R Studio, andVOS Viewer software. A total of 12173 documents on Molecular Docking were retrieved and considered for the study. The paper provides an in-depth evaluation of the research output of MD. The research found that MuthuS.was a most prolific author in MD scientific research, with 98 publications that received 1481 global citations. The most productivecountries in this field areIndia (4020 publications), followedbyChina (2675 publications), Saudi Arabia (1362 publications) and Egypt (1071 publications). The hot keywords in MD research are molecular modelling, molecular docking simulation, unclassified drug and controlled study, but Molecular Docking is the burning author keyword. The finding also shows that the publications are increasing consistently from 2013 onwards. Most articles have been published in the 'Journal of Molecular Structure'. As it is an emerging and a trending topic, it has scope for further studies. Using bibliometric indicators from InCitesTM database of ISI's Web of Science, the present study examines the publication productivity and collaboration of Saudi Arabia (KSA) researchers over the period 1980-2014. The data cover 24 (with at least 500 publications) out of 65 KSA organizations that have bibliometric indicators at InCitesTM. The 24 most active KSA organizations accounted for 85.48 % (74,767 out of 88,506) of all KSA publications. The analysis shows that 60,639 documents were multi-authored publications indicating the collaboration ratio of 81.1 %. Various collaboration patterns (single, domestic and international) were investigated. The international collaboration has increased from 56 publications in 1980 to 9,859 publications in 2014. This increase corresponds to 10 times increase in percent of KSA share in the Worldwide international collaboration. KSA is ranked the first and second among the 50 most productive countries in % international growth in collaboration and % overall international collaboration over the 35-year period. Around half of the collaborative articles (49.2 %) were published by two or three authors. The collaboration of KSA researchers in the six disciplines according to the Global Institutional Profiles Project - GIPP schema is examined. The top 20 collaborating countries belonged to five continents and the United States and Egypt were the most collaborative countries with KSA. The highest citation impact came from collaboration with developed countries and all are higher than the world overall citation impact (12.01). Egyptian and US organizations dominate in the top 20 international collaborative organizations. Accurate prediction of the total publications and citations are proposed using the total number of international collaborations of KSA. The findings revealed that collaboration had a positive effect on scientific productivity and quality, since the collaborative publications received more citations and were published in journals with higher impact factor, thus they characterized high quality. The first academic translation centre in Saudi Arabia was established in 1990 by King Saud University; since then, translation has been developing as a discipline in its own right. Despite the considerable attention given to bibliometric study of translation and interpreting (T&I) research in Translation Studies, the available literature to date has not explored the development of T&I journal articles in Saudi Arabia. This study aims to lay the groundwork for examining 30 years of Saudi T&I research activities by analysing the productivity of published journal articles between 1990 and 2019, prior to the establishment of The Literature, Publishing and Translation Commission (LPT) as a regulating body. The paper divides the examined period into three phases: early years (1990-1999), advances in academia (2000-2009) and advances in the industry (2010-2019). Drawing on bibliometric parameters of productivity, the dataset includes 180 journal articles collected primarily from King Fahad National Library and Scopus as well as three Arabic secondary sources. The findings suggest a significant increase of published articles in the third decade (2010-2019), a dominance of pedagogy-related studies during the three phases and shared patterns with contextual factors in Saudi Arabia; including the expansion of translation departments at universities and international scholarships. Objective The aim is to comprehensively understand the research status and application trends of oily drilling sludge at home and abroad. Methods Based on China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) and Web of Science (WOS) databases, this paper searched literature relating to oily drilling sludge research from 2007 to 2021, and adopted bibliometric method in analysis from multiple perspectives. Results The number of papers published in Chinese and English was rising from 2007 to 2021 while the former was higher than the latter. The funded projects with the largest number of publications globally were the National Natural Science Foundation of China. The influential institutions at home and abroad were China University of Petroleum (East China) and King Fahd University of Petroleum and Mineral Resources in Saudi Arabia. Researchers from China were highly active in this field, while the United States still takes the international leading position. Domestic research focused on drilling technology and petroleum sludge treatment, while studies aboard paid more attention to drilling materials and polluted water treatment. We also concluded that the studies on resource utilization of drilling mud was inadequate. Conclusions The resource utilization of oily sludge has become a research hotspot currently. Further, the harmless treatment and resource utilization of oily sludge for greening planting soil could be regarded as an important research and development direction. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Several studies have summarized the biomedical publications in Arab countries. However, the quantity of health-related article publications from universities in recent years in Saudi Arabia is unknown. Therefore, this study aimed to perform a bibliometric analysis that showcases the quantitative health-related article publications output from universities in Saudi Arabia between 2008 and 2017. An extensive literature search was conducted using the PubMed database. The search was limited to original research articles, systematic reviews, and meta-analyses published in the English language reporting on humans from medicine and health sciences colleges by researchers affiliated with any university in Saudi Arabia between January 2008 and December 2017. A total of 3172 articles were found published between January 2008 and December 2017. The number of publication output increased significantly ( p  = 0.0027) from 73 (2.3%) in 2008 to 721 (22.7%) in 2017. The highest quantity of publications came from the Riyadh region ( n  = 2257), specifically King Saud University ( n  = 1538). Of specific journals, the BioMed Central journals published the most articles by Saudi Arabian researchers ( n  = 112). The total number of publications increased from 2% to 24.8% by region. However, approximately 80% of the papers were published in journals with an impact factor (IF) <3. Around 3.8% of the papers were published in journals that had an IF ≥6 and has increased significantly ( p  = 0.030) from 0% to 1.2% in the past decade. The journal with the highest IF that published a high quantity of articles was the American Journal of Human Genetics. This study has identified a continuous significant increase in the publication of health-related articles from universities in Saudi Arabia. This study extended our knowledge of the quantity of scientific productivity in the field of medicine and health sciences over a recent decade.

Objective: The present bibliometric study aimed to identify and perform the analysis of top one hundred cited publications on Ramadan fasting and health., Methods: The Web of Science database was searched for publication analyses of the papers published from January 2004 till June 2019. The search was performed using keywords "Ramadan" AND "Health" OR "Fast*". The descriptive analysis was performed using SPSS (version 20) software. The coauthor collaborations and keywords were analyzed using VOS viewer software (version 1.6.11)., Results: The present study found that the United Kingdom was the most productive country (n=15) followed by Turkey (n=13), Tunisia (n=12) and Saudi Arabia (n=11). The most prominent institution was National Center of Medicine and Science in Sports, Tunisia (n=7) followed by King Saud University, Saudi Arabia (n=6) and Loughborough University, United Kingdom (n=5)., Conclusion: The most frequently occurring keywords in this analysis were Ramadan, fasting, exercise, Ramadan fasting and physical performance. Introduction: The purpose of this study was to measure the progress of scientific research outcomes of four medical journals, which are indexed to National Library of Medicine (USA) PubMed published from Saudi Arabia during the period from 2000 to 2019. Methods: Scientific papers that are published under the category of original and review articles, short communications, case, and short reports were downloaded from the top four medical journals indexed in the PubMed database viz. (i) Saudi Medical Journal (SMJ) (ii) Neurosciences (iii) Saudi Journal of Kidney Diseases and Transplantation (SJKDT) and (iv) The Annals of Saudi Medicine (ASM) and their research productivity is measured through an appropriate mapping process. The data were analyzed according to certain parameters such as the growth of publication, the types of publication, and the authorship pattern. Inferences: The findings of the study revealed that 12866 articles were contributed by 47346 authors with an average of 3.67 authors per article, and 47.92% articles were published in 12 issues of SMJ (n=6165(47.92%)), Neuroscience (n=1422, 11.05%)), SJKDT (n=3160, 24.56%)and ASM (n=2119, 16.47%) during 2000-2019. Most of the articles (n=10774, 83.74%) included more than one author, leaving only 2092 articles (16.26%) were published by single authors. The authors have collaborated with national and international authors for their scholarly work. Conclusions: The analysis of bibliometric indicators of these four medical journals showed the rising tendency of research publications and the high rate of collaborative research output. These journals contributed a massive number of research papers during the period of the last twenty years. Collaboration among researchers facilitates sharing knowledge and techniques and brings a mixture of positive scientific thoughts. Background: Leishmaniasis is a parasitic disease caused by a protozoan of the Leishmania genus, and is considered a neglected tropical disease. It still remains a main public health concern at global level and in Arab world mainly in low-income countries. Therefore, this study was designed to evaluate the Arab world's growing contribution to global leishmaniasis research., Methods: This study describes a bibliometric review of all leishmaniasis research publications published between January 1998 and December 2017 indexed on the Scopus database., Results: The total number of publications published at global level was 17,570 papers, which achieves an average annual productivity of 878.50 papers publications. Brazil was responsible for the greatest output with the total number of publications of 3865 followed by the Unites States (n = 2729), India (n = 2119), the United Kingdom (n = 1363), and Spain (n = 1274). By limiting the analysis to the publications that have been published by Arab world, the research productivity was 993 papers, which represents 5.65% of total research output at global level in research regarding leishmaniasis. Tunisia was responsible for the greatest output from Arab world with the total number of publications of 297 followed by Sudan (n = 192), Saudi Arabia (n = 131), Morocco (n = 119) and Egypt (n = 67). Since 1998, the growth of publications on leishmaniasis fluctuates, overall showing a rising trend in both global and Arab world. There is a highly significant correlation between publication productivity related to leishmaniasis at global level and the Arab world (r = 0.936; p-value< 0.001). Leishmaniasis treatment, intracellular mechanism of infection, and lifecycle of leishmania are the major current hot topics for the research in this subject at global level and the Arab world., Conclusions: The current study presents a novel review of the current Arab leishmaniasis-related research, and how these results are related to worldwide output. In comparison to the global research output, the Arab world produced less leishmaniasis research. The data presented in the current study by this innovative approach may serve relevant researchers to direct the global leishmaniasis research to Arab counties in which leishmaniasis is endemic.

Coronavirus, a pandemic threat to human beings, has awakened huge concern worldwide, but no bibliometric studies have been conducted on Coronavirus research during 2011-Feb.2020. The aim of this study is to map research productivity on the Coronavirus based on the articles indexed in the Scopus database. The articles related to Coronavirus dated from 2011 to Feb. 2020 were retrieved from the Scopus database. A total of 7558 papers were retrieved for this study which indexed by the Scopus database during 2010-Feb. 2020. The most productive year is recognized 2015with 1012 (13.38 %) articles while Maximum AGR 40.38 percent was recorded in the year. The USA ranked first with 2373 publications, followed by China with1378 publications while The Journal of Virology published the highest 330 articles followed by PLoS One with 224 articles. Dusten, C. is ranked topmost productive corresponding author (first position) with 108 articles followed by Memish, Z.A. with 107 articles. Medicine subject identified as the top subject for publishing paper on Coronavirus followed by Immunology and Microbiology. The title Isolation of a novel coronavirus from a man with pneumonia in Saudi Arabia received the highest 1346 citations, followed by Immune Signaling by RIG-I-like Receptors with 818 citations. Background: Nanoparticles are increasingly used in dentistry for various applications, including enhancing the mechanical properties of denture base resins. This study aimed to comprehensively review and analyze the research landscape of nanoparticles and their effect on the flexural strength of denture base resins to identify key research areas and trends and to highlight the importance of collaboration between authors and institutions. Methods: A Bibliometric Analysis was conducted using the Keywords "Nanoparticle*" AND "Denture*" OR "CAD/CAM." The literature search from the WOS database was restricted to the publication years 2011 to 2022. Results: Key findings encompass an increase in research publications but a decline in citations. Saudi Arabia, China, and Iraq led this research, with specific institutions excelling. Notable journals with high impact factors were identified. Authorship patterns show variations in citation impact. Additionally, keyword analysis revealed that current research trends offer insights into influential authors and their networks. Conclusions: The analysis of nanoparticles and denture base resins reveals a dynamic and evolving landscape that emphasizes the importance of collaboration, staying current with research trends, and conducting high-quality research in this ever-evolving domain. Integrating artificial intelligence (AI) stands out as the most dynamic and innovative breakthrough in introducing disruptive paths in the varied domains of education. This bibliometric analysis delved into the trajectory of AI's evolving landscape within educational settings over two decades, encompassing 324 articles published from 2003 to 2023, sourced from the Scopus database. The study uncovers a substantial surge in publications with a steep increase from 2020, peaking in 2023. Notably, while established nations like China and the US lead in publications, notable contributions from other developing countries, including Saudi Arabia, India, and Malaysia, underscored a global shift. Key terms, including students, machine learning, AI and higher education, underpin the central focus research areas while emerging themes like "generative AI" and chatbots like "chatgpt" mark the evolving trends. Further, the study prompts sustained global partnerships, interdisciplinary collaborations, and continued exploration of emerging AI technologies to catalyze educational advancements. Aims: Scientific discovery in general, and nursing research specifically, is an increasingly global effort consistent with changing demographics and the need to provide culturally competent care in a diverse society. Given that Arabs account for an increasing proportion of the populations in many Western countries, this study presents findings from the first bibliometric analysis of nursing research conducted through December 2017 in the Arab region. Methods: We used quantitative and qualitative indicators to analyse bibliometric data from Scopus. Results: We provided significant data on Arab nursing publication output and growth trends; types of published documents; publication geographic loci, focus, and subject categories; authors' collaboration patterns; core publishing journals and their impact; and citation patterns. Conclusions: Our findings highlighted the need for Arab policy makers and funding agencies to allocate research funding that supports the dissemination of Arab nursing research into the broader scientific community so that Western researchers, policymakers, and health care providers can appropriately address the health care needs of Arab individuals and families. The insights gleaned regarding the performance of journals, authors, countries, and institutions are discussed in relation to the potential impacts of the publish‐or‐perish culture of the current academic world. Objective: To study the present situation with regards to the research output in Nephrology from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) in terms of numbers, type, institution and fields covered., Methods: An extensive Medline search of Nephrologists working in KSA, as well research output from KSA was undertaken; in addition, all Nephrologists were contacted. All papers appearing in the Saudi Medical Journal, Annals of Saudi Medicine and The Saudi Journal for Kidney Diseases and Transplantation were screened for the years 1992-2001., Results: An average of 45 papers per year appeared over the last 10 years with no major changes over the years. Half were in the indexed Journals. Whereas, 61% were original articles, the majority of the papers (78.2%) were retrospective in nature and 89.9% were clinical. The majority were concerned with transplantation (34.1%) and hemodialysis (24.4%). It is of interest to note that KSA leads other Arab countries in the number of publications in Nephrology and it has a highest total percentage of medical publications compared to other Arab, and Asian countries as well as the United Kingdom, Canada and United States of America., Conclusion: Although KSA is leading the Arab countries in renal research, much improvement is still required especially in basic research.

Bibliometrics is a high-demand and fast-growing statistical area for the analysis of scientific literature in a certain field. Although religion and health (R&H) field has been a developing study area in recent years, only a few bibliometric studies have been published on the literature in R&H. In this study, we aimed to perform bibliometric analysis of the health literature related to the most populous Abrahamic religions during the period of 1975-2017 by using Web of Science database including WoS Collection Core Collection, Korean Journal Database, Russian Science Citation Index and SciELO Citation Index. In overall evaluation, the USA ranked first in publication productivity with 1388 items and covered 37.21% of total literature. The Journal of Religion and Health published the highest number of documents (n = 351). We found a total of 1329 items in health and Christianity field, and the USA was the most productive country followed by the UK and Canada (n = 166 and 63 documents, respectively). Loma Linda University was found to publish the highest number of items. We detected 1965 publications in Islam and health area, and top three countries were the USA, the UK and Saudi Arabia (n = 387, 194 and 137 items, respectively). University of London was the most productive institution (n = 72, 3.67%). A total of 436 articles were detected in Judaism and health. Top three countries in productivity were the UK, Israel and the UK (211, 151 and 36 items, respectively). Hebrew University of Jerusalem produced 17.43% of total documents as the topmost institution. Although Abrahamic religions originated from Middle East, we noted that most productive authors in this field were not Middle Eastern and from developed countries. Ramadan fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam. The current study aims to examine, analyze, and identify trends of health-related publications on Ramadan fasting. In total, 1468 documents retrieved from Scopus were analyzed. The mean number of authors per document was 3.7, with an average of 13.3 citations per document. The UK ranked first (12.3%, n = 181) regarding the number of documents, followed by Iran (10.4%, n = 153) and then Saudi Arabia (9.8%, n = 144). The most active journal was "Diabetes Research and Clinical Practice" (4.9%, n = 72). Publications related to diabetes and fasting constituted around 29.7% (n = 436) of the literature. The research volume on Ramadan fasting has been noticeably growing. More reliable research is required to aid healthcare professionals in providing patient-specific care. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Background: To develop an open-access database of Arabic health measures intended for use by researchers and healthcare providers, along with a bibliometric analysis of the measures included in the database.Methods: A search was conducted up to 31 December 2021 in PubMed, Embase, CINAHL, SAGE, Springer and Elsevier for published articles or abstracts with keywords "Arabic" AND "translation", "adaptation" OR "validation". Information on the measure and the methodology used in the study was then entered into a database. An open-access platform was developed to allow users to search for measures according to their needs. A bibliometric analysis of the articles and measures was then conducted.Results: A total of 894 publications met the inclusion criteria. The articles discussed 716 measures that were developed using participants from at least 38 countries. The number of measures for adults was five times that for children. Mental health was the most frequent construct assessed (11.5%), followed by "function/disability" measures (10.6%). The majority of measures (54%) required 5 minutes or less to complete. Approximately 17% of the tools were available directly from the article. Saudi Arabia and Lebanon had the greatest number of publications, with 217 (23%) and 114 (12%), respectively. The majority of the publications included reporting of the validation and reliability of the instruments (64% and 56%, respectively).Conclusions: There is a paucity of research on the quantity and quality of Arabic health measures. Similar to previous reviews, we found the number of publications on Arabic measures to be limited in comparison to those in English; however, it is encouraging that the number of publications appears to have increased steadily over the past decade. While we found the majority of publications reported on psychometric testing, we are unable to comment on the quality of the methodology used, and further investigation into this area is recommended. As the Arabic Health Measures database will facilitate the search for health instruments that have published data on their development, this will increase their visibility and use in research and clinical settings. Jammu and Kashmir is the seventh largest state (now a union territory) of India in terms of area, with about 1.25 crore inhabitants. It has 11 universities (Central and State) and 308 colleges affiliated with Jammu and Kashmir universities. With such a diverse higher educational structure, one presumes the region will have sufficient scientific output for scientometric analysis. The study tried to assess its research output and impact in science and technology by analysing 4,697 journal articles indexed in the Science Citation Index–Expanded database Web of Science. The examination of articles revealed that they are predominantly dealing with plant sciences, dairy and animal science, agriculture, and chemistry. All these articles have a mean of 7.24 authors and citation per publication of 6.43. The Jammu and Kashmir researchers' international collaboration is primarily with Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The most prolific institutions are the University of Kashmir, Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences & Technology of Kashmir (SKUAST), and Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS). The most productive researchers are Sheikh Javid Ahmad from Cluster University Srinagar, and Farooq Ahmad Masoodi and Aijaz Ahmad Dar from University of Kashmir. The study will serve as an index to assist researchers and organizations in Jammu and Kashmir and their publication profiles in the overall science and technology output of the state. Objective: Understanding health informatics (HI) publication trends in Saudi Arabia may serve as a framework for future research efforts and contribute toward meeting national "e-Health" goals. The authors' intention was to understand the state of the HI field in Saudi Arabia by exploring publication trends and their alignment with national goals. Methods: A scoping review was performed to identify HI publications from Saudi Arabia in PubMed, Embase, and Web of Science. We analyzed publication trends based on topics, keywords, and how they align with the Ministry of Health's (MOH's) "digital health journey" framework. Results: The total number of publications included was 242. We found 1 (0.4%) publication in 1995--1999, 11 (4.5%) publications in 2000--2009, and 230 (95.0%) publications in 2010--2019. We categorized publications into 3 main HI fields and 4 subfields: 73.1% (n=177) of publications were in clinical informatics (85.1%, n=151 medical informatics; 5.6%, n=10 pharmacy informatics; 6.8%, n=12 nursing informatics; 2.3%, n=4 dental informatics); 22.3% (n=54) were in consumer health informatics; and 4.5% (n=11) were in public health informatics. The most common keyword was "medical informatics" (21.5%, n=52). MOH framework--based analysis showed that most publications were categorized as "digitally enabled care" and "digital health foundations." Conclusions: The years of 2000--2009 may be seen as an infancy stage of the HI field in Saudi Arabia. Exploring how the Saudi Arabian MOH's e-Health initiatives may influence research is valuable for advancing the field. This research study evaluates the quality of articles published by Saudi and expatriate authors in foreign Library and Information Science (LIS) journals using three popular metrics for ranking journals—Journal Impact Factor (JIF), SCImago Journal Rank (SJR), and Google Scholar Metrics (GSM). The reason for using multiple metrics is to see how closely or differently journals are ranked by the three different methods of citation analysis. However, the 2012 JIF list of journals is too small, almost half the size of the SJR and GSM lists, which inhibited one-to-one comparison among the impact factors of the thirty-six journals selected by Saudi authors for publishing articles. Only seventeen journals were found common to all the three lists, limiting the usefulness of the data. A basic problem is that Saudi LIS authors generally lack the level of competency in the English language required to achieve publication in the most prominent LIS journals. The study will have implications for authors, directors, and deans of all types of academic libraries; chairmen and deans of library schools; and the Saudi Library Association. Hopefully these entities will take necessary steps to prepare and motivate both academics and practicing librarians to improve the quality of their research and publications and thus get published in higher ranked journals. In this study, a combined technique of bibliometric and social network analysis was applied on research articles, related to the application of nano-adsorbents for cobalt removal from wastewater, published in Scopus database up to 2020. The results revealed that the first relative research article appeared in the Scopus database in the year 2002. The total output of research articles reached 214 in the year 2020. Published research articles of the years 2014–2020, added up to 83.6% of total articles. King Saud University of Saudi Arabia, Chinese Academy of Science, and LUT University of Finland were found to serve as the gatekeepers who control information flows in the network of the most prolific institutions, while cooperation between China, Saudi Arabia, and United States was also identified. On average, the most prolific authors cooperated with five others, while the top 10 cited publications appeared to represent a sparse and weakly interconnected network of co-authors. Graphene oxide was the most prominent nano-adsorbent among the top 10 cited publications, and their respective co-citations network visualization helped in capturing the value of certain citations to the evolution of the research on the topic, putting thus scientific work impact assessment to a different perspective.
