In this article the author discusses various factors behind the success of the Solo, Small Firm and General Practice Division of the American Bar Association. According to the author, the Division leadership has accomplished its primary goal of serving its members' needs. As the outgoing chairperson of the Division, the author offers his thanks to many of his colleagues for their dedication to the Division, including chair-elect Jennifer A. Rymell, and managing director Alan A. Fowler.

In this article the author discusses how to grow the General Practice, Solo and Small Firm Division of the American Bar Association (ABA). According to the author, the Division should strengthen its relationships with all the Sections in the ABA; and establish formal and sustained relations with state and local bar associations. The author says that to grow the profession, the division should promote the Kids in Need of Defense (KIND) project and train attorneys and advocates.
