The article presents a debate concerning the contradictions in personhood theory which bear on the question of the right to die. It discusses the alleged paradox of the personhood theory of Mary Ford stating that anyone possessing the qualities of rationality, autonomy and self-awareness is unequivocally a person. Ford claims that voluntary euthanasia is not the only way to avoid problem.

The article discusses the moderate improvement in survival of breast cancer patients which is attributed to an increased detection of early stage breast cancer. The little improvement of changes in therapy with regards to survival rates is mentioned. The contribution of wider community awareness and education about breast cancer that helped the improvement is also cited.
