Objective: The aims of this quasi-experimental before-and-after study were to first determine whether the use of eye tracking technology combined with video debriefing techniques has the potential to improve the quality of feedback and enhance situation awareness (SA) in simulated settings and second to determine students' satisfaction towards simulated learning., Methods: Nursing and paramedicine students from three universities participated in three 8-minute simulation scenarios of acutely deteriorating patients. Eye tracking glasses video recorded the scenarios and tracked right eye movement. On completion, participants were questioned using the Situation Awareness Global Assessment Technique, completed the Satisfaction with Simulation Experience Scale (SSES), and provided textual feedback and received video-based verbal feedback., Results: Participants lacked awareness of presenting medical conditions and patient environments and had poor recall of patient vital signs. Significant improvements in SA scores were demonstrated between the first and third scenarios (P = 0.04). Participants reported greater insight into their performance and were satisfied with simulated learning., Conclusions: Use of visual field review techniques appears to enhance the use of realistic simulated practice as a means of addressing significant performance deficits. Objective: Attentional orienting and awareness for contralesional hemispace were studied longitudinally in a woman (GB) who suffered a right hemispheric stroke without any motor impairment and who presented normal performance on standard paper-and-pencil tests for neglect but manifested difficulties in everyday life. We aimed to test whether computer-based, dual-task paradigms were sufficiently sensitive to detect the presence of subclinical neglect in GB., Method: We assessed the spatial awareness of GB by means of cued-detection tasks, paper-and-pencil tests, attentionally demanding dual tasks, and in several ecological settings after her discharge from the hospital. A group of right brain-damaged patients and an age-matched healthy participant were also tested with the dual tasks., Results: Dramatic awareness deficits for the left contralesional hemispace emerged in GB only under dual-task conditions, both in computer-based and in ecological settings, as if her degree of contralesional space awareness impairment was closely dependent on the quantity of available attentional resources. Our dual-task paradigm was also effective in quantifying awareness improvements over time. The absence of motor impairments, uncommon for a postacute patient with severe albeit hidden neglect, allowed us to ascribe her everyday life impairments for contralesional hemispace to awareness deficits. The performance of the group of patients confirmed the detrimental effects of the dual tasks, whereas the performance of the healthy control we tested was not affected by dual-task manipulation., Conclusions: Our results confirm the well-known lack of sensitivity of standard neuropsychological tests to detect subclinical forms of neglect, which, nonetheless, may result in negative consequences in everyday life. Computer-based, resource-demanding paradigms seem to be a promising solution to uncover subtle awareness deficits that can affect the everyday life of stroke patients.

Do narcissists have insight into the negative aspects of their personality and reputation? Using both clinical and subclinical measures of narcissism, the authors examined others' perceptions, self-perceptions, and meta-perceptions of narcissists across a wide range of traits for a new acquaintance and close other (Study 1), longitudinally with a group of new acquaintances (Study 2), and among coworkers (Study 3). Results bring 3 surprising conclusions about narcissists: (a) they understand that others see them less positively than they see themselves (i.e., their meta-perceptions are less biased than are their self-perceptions), (b) they have some insight into the fact that they make positive first impressions that deteriorate over time, and (c) they have insight into their narcissistic personality (e.g., they describe themselves as arrogant). The study investigated religious education students' awareness and use of theological commons for term paper writing and research in the federal universities in southeast Nigeria. The study adopted a descriptive survey design to investigate 96 male students and 86 female students. The statistical analysis was done using an independent t-test at 0.05 level of significance. The finding of this study showed that there is no significant difference in the awareness of theological commons among religious education students for term paper writing and research by gender. The finding of this study also showed that there is a gender difference in the use of theological commons for term paper writing and research among religious education students. It was recommended that there should be seminars and workshops to intensify the use of theological commons among the students for term paper writing and improved research skills. People often think of paper as an environmentally harmful product because trees are cut down to make it. A new generation that has grown up in today's digital society may think that the use of digital devices is a waste-free way to protect our environment. Although the pulp and paper industry is making various efforts to preserve the environment, it has not been properly recognized. Developing new technologies to produce better products at lower cost while protecting our environment is important. But it is also important to enhance the image of the pulp and paper industry in the eyes of the public. Although empathy for pain plays an important role in positive interpersonal relationships and encourages engagement in prosocial behavior, it remains largely unknown whether empathy for pain could be effectively altered by psychophysiological techniques. This study aimed to investigate the impact of a single session of diaphragmatic breathing practice on empathy for pain and examine the potential mechanism involving interoceptive awareness. A total of 66 healthy participants were randomly assigned to the intervention group or the control group. The intervention group received a 15-minute diaphragmatic breathing (DB) practice with real-time biofeedback, while the control group was to gaze at a black screen at rest and not engaged in any other activities. Before and after the invention, all participants were instructed to evaluate the intensity and unpleasantness of empathy for pain while watching different pictures with pain or non-pain conditions. The Multidimensional Assessment of Interoceptive Awareness (MAIA) was then administered to measure interoceptive awareness. The results indicated a significant interaction between group and time with regard to empathy for pain and MAIA. The DB group showed a statistically significant decrease in both pain intensity and unpleasantness during the pain picture condition, as well as a noteworthy increase in MAIA scores. The control group did not demonstrate any substantial changes. More importantly, the regulation of attention, a dimension of MAIA, had a significant mediating effect on the impact of diaphragmatic breathing on reported unpleasantness. Diaphragmatic breathing could serve as a simple, convenient, and practical strategy to optimize human empathy for pain that warrants further investigation, which has important implications not only for individuals with impaired empathy for pain but also for the improvement of interoceptive awareness., (© 2024 Society for Psychophysiological Research.)

Large language models (LLMs) are an exciting breakthrough in the rapidly growing field of artificial intelligence (AI), offering unparalleled potential in a variety of application domains such as finance, business, healthcare, cybersecurity, and so on. However, concerns regarding their trustworthiness and ethical implications have become increasingly prominent as these models are considered black-box and continue to progress. This position paper explores the potentiality of LLM from diverse perspectives as well as the associated risk factors with awareness. Towards this, we highlight not only the technical challenges but also the ethical implications and societal impacts associated with LLM deployment emphasizing fairness, transparency, explainability, trust and accountability. We conclude this paper by summarizing potential research scopes with direction. Overall, the purpose of this position paper is to contribute to the ongoing discussion of LLM potentiality and awareness from the perspective of trustworthiness and responsibility in AI. The concept of insight into psychosis has received scant attention in the psychiatric literature. Various types of insight are described after drawing on such sources as phenomenology, clinical observation and experimental psychology. It is proposed that insight is far from an all or none phenomenon but comprises three overlapping dimensions, namely, the recognition that one has a mental illness, compliance with treatment and the ability to re-label unusual mental events (delusions and hallucinations) as pathological.

Recently, papers with multiple corresponding authors (co-correspondence) are frequently noticed in scientific journals. This is a trend that parallels a significant increase in research collaboration, but its rapidity raises concern about whether the legitimacy and value of the corresponding authorship are changing or even damaged. This study investigated how extensive and sound the trend of co-correspondence in science and engineering is. The increasing trend of co-correspondence papers was confirmed by examining SCOPUS index (www.scopus.com) for the papers published by scholars of the USA, Japan, South Korea, and China in 2008-09 and 2018-2019. The number of co-correspondence papers indeed increased in all four countries. However, the numbers varied significantly among the countries, markedly higher in South Korea and China cases, which also showed far higher numbers of the papers with a co-corresponding author who is the only member from his group. To dig into reality, South Korean scholars were surveyed with questionnaires regarding the trend of co-correspondence. Over 64% of respondents answered that they had participated in papers where multiple corresponding authors are listed, and 22% of them thought that the co-corresponding author did not play his due role and the co-corresponding authorship was exchanged between friends or given as a courtesy for various reasons. Although corresponding authorship allocation is majorly a concern for journal editors, a trend of inappropriate practices or misuse of co-corresponding authorship calls for local and global academic community awareness. Improving nurses' situation awareness skills would likely improve patient status recognition and prevent adverse events. Technologies such as electronic health record dashboards can be a promising approach to support nurses' situation awareness. However, the effect of these dashboards on this skill is unknown. This systematic literature review explores the evidence around interventions to improve nurses' situation awareness at the point of care. Current research on this subject is limited. Studies that examined the use of electronic health record dashboards as an intervention had weak evidence to support their effectiveness. Other interventions, including communication interventions and structured nursing assessments, may also improve situation awareness, but more research is needed to confirm this. It is important to carefully consider the design and content of situation awareness interventions, as well as the specific outcomes being measured, when designing situation awareness interventions. Overall, there is a need for higher-quality research in this area to determine the most effective interventions for improving nurse situation awareness. Purpose: This paper aims to provide a systematic literature review (SLR) on contemporary cardinal money mule issues. Design/methodology/approach: This paper reviews the most common money mule themes in perpetrating financial crime activities, especially its roles, recruitment and awareness. A systematic review protocol called preferred reporting items for systematic review and meta-analysis protocols is adopted for this study. Findings: Money mules are used by organized criminal groups (OCG) or fraudster to launder illicit funds from outrageous criminal activities. They allow their accounts to be used for money laundering by OCG. The attacker, OCG or fraudsters would layer the stolen funds using money mule accounts. These money mules are recruited using various approaches, oftentimes deceived by opulent lifestyles to captivate the interest of potential money mules. Originality/value: This paper presents money mule awareness needed by accountant, bank employees and the society. It is an unprecedented SLR on money mule. Purpose: Green supply chain management (GSCM) has important purposes related to environmental performance, such as risk control, meeting marketplace expectations, achieving good commercial enterprise performance and complying with regulations. Since green supply chain management (GSCM) has been rapidly evolved since the first introduction in 1980 era. Most of the published papers are focusing on the performance measurement and evaluation of stakeholders but there are more areas that can be discussed. This paper is intended to investigate the factors that affecting the awareness level of GSCM implementation. Design/methodology/approach: A systematic literature review has been made on several selected journal papers related to GSCM practices. These articles are mainly discussing the factors that affecting the adoption and implementation of GSCM in an organization. Findings: From literature review, a total of twelve factors have been identified that will affect the implementation of GSCM and these factors can be categorised into four main categories which are the internal motivating, external motivating, internal demotivating and external demotivating. Research limitations/implications: This study is filling the gap in the literature about the adoption and implementation of GSCM in construction industry. Practical implications: Findings from this study will assist GSCM practitioners, authorities and stakeholders in the supply chain in construction industry to insight into key factors of GSCM. As dental professionals, reflective practice is considered a key element of learning and development and is therefore encouraged by both dental educational establishments and the regulator. However, following an adverse event, rather than undertaking what is assumed as reflection, and subsequently moving forward with a deeper understanding, many practitioners will ruminate for days/weeks or even months on the situation and internalise the emotional impact. This ruminating process can lead to issues of poor wellbeing and little constructive learning and can ultimately impact on patient care. Therefore, it is vital as a profession that we understand the difference between reflection and rumination and are aware of the predisposing factors.
