We present a preliminary analysis of the recently discovered carbon‐dominated atmosphere white dwarfs (“Hot DQ”) based on HST/COS observations. We also present a summary of the recent findings that emerged from our ongoing campaign aimed at obtaining high signal‐to‐noise optical spectroscopic observations of these objects.
