Galileo navigation system is composed by a constellation of MEO satellites for PNT service, transmitting navigation signals in E5, E6 and E1 frequency bands. SENER has been in the Galileo Space Segment since the In-Orbit Validation phase (IOV), being responsible for the design, development, manufacturing, assembly, integration and test of 90 flight units to the Galileo constellation, including Search and Rescue Antennas, Search and Rescue Transponders, Mission Receivers and S-band Antennas for both In-Orbit Validation (IOV) and Full Operational Capability (FOC) phases. Currently Galileo 2nd Generation (G2G) Satellites are under development by Airbus and Thales with two parallel Contracts funded by the European Commission
