The research groups in computer vision, graphics, and machine learning have dedicated a substantial amount of attention to the areas of 3D object reconstruction, augmentation, and registration. Deep learning is the predominant method used in artificial intelligence for addressing computer vision challenges. However, deep learning on three-dimensional data presents distinct obstacles and is now in its nascent phase. There have been significant advancements in deep learning specifically for three-dimensional data, offering a range of ways to address these issues. This study offers a comprehensive examination of the latest advancements in deep learning methodologies. We examine many benchmark models for the tasks of 3D object registration, augmentation, and reconstruction. We thoroughly analyse their architectures, advantages, and constraints. In summary, this report provides a comprehensive overview of recent advancements in three-dimensional deep learning and highlights unresolved research areas that will need to be addressed in the future. Objective To discuss the feasibility of directly processing paper-based ECG by using deep learning method, and to propose a method for identifying atrial fibrillation ( AF) from paper-based ECG rapidly and accurately. Methods The 12-lead ECG signals of 1 040 AF and 1 344 non-AF patients were selected from CPSC 2018 Challenge data, and were plotted as ECGs. These ECGs were printed out on papers, and rescanned into images. The paper-based ECGs with white background were obtained by a series of preprocessing. These paper-based ECGs were used to construct AF recognition dataset; the artificial intelligence algorithm (AIA) was trained, validated and tested using the real labels provided by the Challenge as the gold standard. Results The sensitivity, specificity and F1 score of the AIA based on paper-based ECGs are 0. 957, 0. 978 and 0. 969, respectively, and the area under receiver operating characteristic curve is 0. 994. The Grad-CAM based feature visualization results show that in paper-based ECGs, the position of P wave and F wave at the onset of AF provide main references for the algorithm to identify AF, which is consistent with the ECG diagnostic criteria of AF in clinical practice. Conclusion The AF recognition algorithm based on paper-based ECGs shows good performance. This position paper provides a perspective on the evolutionary trajectory of practical deep learning tools for genitourinary pathology through evaluating the most recent iterations of such algorithmic devices. Significant Wave Height (SWH) is crucial in many aspect of ocean engineering. The accurate prediction of SWH has therefore been of immense practical value. Recently, Artificial Intelligence (AI) time series prediction methods have been widely used for single-point short-term SWH time-series forecasting, resulting in many AI-based models claiming to achieve good results. However, the extent to which these complex AI models can outperform traditional methods has largely been overlooked. This study compared five different models - AutoRegressive (AR), eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGB), Artificial Neural Network (ANN), Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM), and WaveNet - for their performance on SWH time series prediction at 16 buoy locations. Surprisingly, the results suggest that the differences of performance among different models are negligible, indicating that all these AI models have only "learned" the linear auto-regression from the data. In daily clinical practice, clinicians integrate available data to ascertain the diagnostic and prognostic probability of a disease or clinical outcome for their patients. For patients with suspected or known cardiovascular disease, several anatomical and functional imaging techniques are commonly performed to aid this endeavor, including coronary computed tomography angiography (CCTA) and nuclear cardiology imaging. Continuous improvement in positron emission tomography (PET), single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT), and CT hardware and software has resulted in improved diagnostic performance and wide implementation of these imaging techniques in daily clinical practice. However, the human ability to interpret, quantify, and integrate these data sets is limited. The identification of novel markers and application of machine learning (ML) algorithms, including deep learning (DL) to cardiovascular imaging techniques will further improve diagnosis and prognostication for patients with cardiovascular diseases. The goal of this position paper of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM) and the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI) is to provide an overview of the general concepts behind modern machine learning-based artificial intelligence, highlights currently prefered methods, practices, and computational models, and proposes new strategies to support the clinical application of ML in the field of cardiovascular imaging using nuclear cardiology (hybrid) and CT techniques. In recent years, there has been a dramatic increase in research papers about machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence in radiology. With so many papers around, it is of paramount importance to make a proper scientific quality assessment as to their validity, reliability, effectiveness, and clinical applicability. Due to methodological complexity, the papers on ML in radiology are often hard to evaluate, requiring a good understanding of key methodological issues. In this review, we aimed to guide the radiology community about key methodological aspects of ML to improve their academic reading and peer-review experience. Key aspects of ML pipeline were presented within four broad categories: study design, data handling, modelling, and reporting. Sixteen key methodological items and related common pitfalls were reviewed with a fresh perspective: database size, robustness of reference standard, information leakage, feature scaling, reliability of features, high dimensionality, perturbations in feature selection, class balance, bias-variance trade-off, hyperparameter tuning, performance metrics, generalisability, clinical utility, comparison with traditional tools, data sharing, and transparent reporting. Artificial intelligence developments are essential to the successful deployment of community-wide, MRI-driven prostate cancer diagnosis. AI systems should ensure that the main benefits of biopsy avoidance are delivered while maintaining consistent high specificities, at a range of disease prevalences. Since all current artificial intelligence / computer-aided detection systems for prostate cancer detection are experimental, multiple developmental efforts are still needed to bring the vision to fruition. Initial work needs to focus on developing systems as diagnostic supporting aids so their results can be integrated into the radiologists' workflow including gland and target outlining tasks for fusion biopsies. Developing AI systems as clinical decision-making tools will require greater efforts. The latter encompass larger multicentric, multivendor datasets where the different needs of patients stratified by diagnostic settings, disease prevalence, patient preference, and clinical setting are considered. AI-based, robust, standard operating procedures will increase the confidence of patients and payers, thus enabling the wider adoption of the MRI-directed approach for prostate cancer diagnosis. This paper introduces the collection of the Journal on Machine Learning (ML) and the user. It provides a brief history of ML from the 1950's through to the current time, sketching the nature of the kinds of precursor AI techniques used in such things as expert systems right the way through to the emergence of ML and its tool sets, including deep learning. It concludes with the 'generative AI' used in such ML technologies as PaLM and GPT-3. The history highlights key changes and developments in ML, the especial importance and limitations of deep learning, and the changing attitudes and expectations of users in an environment when ML can and often is oversold. This paper combines artificial intelligence deep learning technology to optimize the wine making process of mango wine. Moreover, in view of the shortcomings of traditional electronic nose data processing methods, a deep learning method based on SSAE‐BPNN is proposed for electronic nose data processing. In addition, according to the characteristics of automatic learning features, this paper uses a deep learning method based on SSAE‐BPNN to simplify the process of traditional data processing methods. Finally, this paper constructs an electronic nose system that can be used to identify mango wine making characteristics, and enhances the effect of electronic nose recognition through deep learning. De-mining operations are of critical importance for humanitarian efforts and safety in conflict-affected regions. In this paper, we address the challenge of enhancing the accuracy and efficiency of mine detection systems. We present an innovative Deep Learning architecture tailored for pulse induction-based Metallic Mine Detectors (MMD), so called DL-MMD. Our methodology leverages deep neural networks to distinguish amongst nine distinct materials with an exceptional validation accuracy of 93.5%. This high level of precision enables us not only to differentiate between anti-personnel mines, without metal plates but also to detect minuscule 0.2-g vertical paper pins in both mineralized soil and non-mineralized environments. Moreover, through comparative analysis, we demonstrate a substantial 3% and 7% improvement (approx.) in accuracy performance compared to the traditional K-Nearest Neighbors and Support Vector Machine classifiers, respectively. The fusion of deep neural networks with the pulse induction-based MMD not only presents a cost-effective solution but also significantly expedites decision-making processes in de-mining operations, ultimately contributing to improved safety and effectiveness in these critical endeavors. Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a popular neurological disorder affecting a critical part of the world's population. Its early diagnosis is extremely imperative for enhancing the quality of patients' lives. This review describes the contribution of image processing, feature extraction, optimization, and classification approach in AD recognition. Incorporating style-related objectives into shape design has been centrally important to maximize product appeal. However, algorithmic style capture and reuse have not fully benefited from automated data-driven methodologies due to the challenging nature of design describability. This paper proposes an AI-driven method to fully automate the discovery of brand-related features. First, to tackle the scarcity of vectorized product images, this research proposes two data acquisition workflows: parametric modeling from small curve-based datasets, and vectorization from large pixel-based datasets. Second, this study constructs BIGNet, a two-tier Brand Identification Graph Neural Network, to learn from both scalar vector graphics' curve-level and chunk-level parameters. In the first case study, BIGNet not only classifies phone brands but also captures brand-related features across multiple scales, such as lens' location, as confirmed by AI evaluation. In the second study, this paper showcases the generalizability of BIGNet learning from a vectorized car image dataset and validates the consistency and robustness of its predictions given four scenarios. The results match the difference commonly observed in luxury versus economy brands in the automobile market. Finally, this paper also visualizes the activation maps generated from a convolutional neural network and shows BIGNet's advantage of being a more explainable style-capturing agent. Artificial intelligence (AI) technology has brought new reconstruction opportunities for the intelligence of the advertisement industry through the help of AI technologies such as machine learning and deep learning. First, the relationship between AI and the attractiveness of green advertisements is investigated, and the influence of different AI technologies in green advertisements on consumers' perception of the attractiveness of green advertisements is summarized. Second, based on the green advertisement dissemination rate data set, the data visualization exploration is carried out, and the data deletion and coding processing are carried out aiming at different characteristic variables. Finally, according to the problems existing in the current green advertisement communication and the high‐dimensional and sparse characteristics of the communication rate data set. In this paper, based on Deep FM (Factorization Machine), Gradient Boost Decision Tree (GBDT) is added to assist the experiment, and the prediction performance of green advertising communication is tested. The results are as follows. (1) Different AI expressions in green advertisements will affect consumers' perception of the attractiveness of green advertisements. (2) The prediction ability of Deep FM model after feature engineering is better than that of data cleaning only. The prediction effect of the model is obviously improved. Image semantic segmentation technology is one of the core research contents in the field of computer vision. With the improvement of computer performance and the continuous development of deep learning technology, researchers have more and more enthusiasm to study the actual effect and performance of image semantic segmentation. The results of deep semantic segmentation allow computers to have a more detailed and accurate understanding of images, and have a wide range of application needs in the fields of autonomous driving, intelligent security, medical imaging, remote sensing images, etc. However, the existing image semantic segmentation algorithms have the disadvantages of easy discontinuous results and insufficient prediction accuracy. In this paper, we take deep learning-based image semantic segmentation technology as the research object to explore the improvement of the image semantic segmentation algorithm and its application in road scenarios. First, this paper proposes MCU-Net method based on residual fusion and multi-scale contextual information. MCU-Net uses residual fusion module to deepen the network structure and improve the ability of U-Net to acquire deeper features. Then a top-down and bottom-up path is constructed for feature information between different levels, and the spatial and semantic information contained in shallow and deep features in the network is fully utilized by fusing features from different levels. In addition, an enhanced void space pyramid pooling module is added for feature information between the same levels, which enables the output features to have a larger range of semantic information. Second, this paper proposes the DAMCU-Net method based on attention mechanism and edge detection based on MCU-Net. DAMCU-Net extracts global contextual information by the attention mechanism optimization module, while fusing features using dense jump connections to facilitate the network to recover more spatial detail information during upsampling, and uses the FReLU activation function to improve the segmentation capability of the network for complex targets. For the edge information lost in the feature extraction process, the edge detection branch is added to supplement the feature information of the main path by feature fusion to achieve the optimization of the edge information. Advances in artificial intelligence (AI) and automated robotics will profoundly influence space operations. By utilising machine learning and deep learning approaches, AI-enabled systems may accomplish tasks as well as improve their own performance. These capabilities are useful in the often-remote settings of outer space and will grow in value as automated space operations become more widespread. As AI extends throughout the space domain, automated algorithms will take on many of the roles that have historically been handled by humans. Artificial intelligence is progressing from theory to implementation in the space environment by exposing new satellites and orbital autonomous vehicles to new data. Even though all initial computational parameters are provided, such systems' outputs can be very unpredictable, putting people, property, and the environment at risk. This paper investigates the application of United Nations space treaties, selected regional AI regulations, and various 'soft-law' instruments and industry initiatives focusing on responsible AI system development to space-based AI systems. Following that, reforms are proposed to clarify the practical relationship between AI systems and the international legal regime that governs space, as well as a 'bottom-up' regulatory approach to better facilitate the future development of regulation governing the use of AI by the global space sector. While this work does not purport to provide a conclusive resolution to these multifaceted matters, its objective is to underscore significant obstacles that arise at the convergence of space law and AI, serving as a preliminary foundation for subsequent discussions on this issue. • Advances in AI and automated robotics will have a profound impact on space operations. Diseases of tomato leaves can seriously damage crop yield and financial rewards. The timely and accurate detection of tomato diseases is a major challenge in agriculture. Hence, the early and accurate diagnosis of tomato diseases is crucial. The emergence of deep learning has dramatically helped in plant disease detection. However, the accuracy of deep learning models largely depends on the quantity and quality of training data. To solve the inter-class imbalance problem and improve the generalization ability of the classification model, this paper proposes a cycle-consistent generative-adversarial-network-based Transformer model to generate diseased tomato leaf images for data augmentation. In addition, this paper uses a Transformer model and densely connected CNN architecture to extract multilevel local features. The Transformer module is utilized to capture global dependencies and contextual information accurately to expand the sensory field of the model. Experiments show that the proposed model achieved 99.45% accuracy on the PlantVillage dataset. The 2018 Artificial Intelligence Challenger dataset and the private dataset attained accuracies of 98.30% and 95.4%, and the proposed classification model achieved a higher accuracy and smaller model size compared to previous deep learning models. The increasing availability of hydrological and physiographic spatiotemporal data has boosted machine learning's role in rapid flood mapping. Yet, data scarcity, especially high-resolution DEMs, challenges regions with limited access. This paper examines how DEM type and resolution affect flood prediction accuracy, utilizing a cutting-edge deep learning (DL) method called 1D convolutional neural network (CNN). It utilizes synthetic hydrographs as training input and water depth data obtained from LISFLOOD-FP, a 2D hydrodynamic model, as target data. This study investigates digital surface models (DSMs) and digital terrain models (DTMs) derived from a 1 m LIDAR-based DTM, with resolutions from 15 to 30 m. The methodology is applied and assessed in a established benchmark, city of Carlisle, UK. The models' performance is then evaluated and compared against an observed flood event using RMSE, Bias, and Fit indices. Leveraging the insights gained from this region, the paper discusses the applicability of the methodology to address the challenges encountered in a data-scarce flood-prone region, exemplified by Pakistan. Results indicated that utilizing a 30 m DTM outperformed a 30 m DSM in terms of flood depth prediction accuracy by about 21% during the flood peak stage, highlighting the superior performance of DTM at lower resolutions. Increasing the resolution of DTM to 15 m resulted in a minimum 50% increase in RMSE and a 20% increase in fit index across all flood stages. The findings emphasize that while a coarser resolution DEM may impact the accuracy of machine learning models, it remains a viable option for rapid flood prediction. However, even a slight improvement in data resolution in data-scarce regions would provide significant added value, ultimately enhancing flood risk management. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a chronic brain disorder affecting millions worldwide. It occurs when brain cells that produce dopamine, a chemical controlling movement, die or become damaged. This leads to PD, which causes problems with movement, balance, and posture. Early detection is crucial to slow its progression and improve the quality of life for PD patients. This paper proposes a handwriting-based prediction approach combining a cosine annealing scheduler with deep transfer learning. It utilizes the NIATS dataset, which contains handwriting samples from individuals with and without PD, to evaluate six different models: VGG16, VGG19, ResNet18, ResNet50, ResNet101, and Vit. This paper compares the performance of these models based on three metrics: accuracy, precision, and F1 score. Abstract Artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly moving from an experimental phase to an implementation phase in many fields, including medicine. The combination of improved availability of large datasets, increasing computing power, and advances in learning algorithms has created major performance breakthroughs in the development of AI applications. In the last 5 years, AI techniques known as deep learning have delivered rapidly improving performance in image recognition, caption generation, and speech recognition. Radiology, in particular, is a prime candidate for early adoption of these techniques. It is anticipated that the implementation of AI in radiology over the next decade will significantly improve the quality, value, and depth of radiology's contribution to patient care and population health, and will revolutionize radiologists' workflows. The Canadian Association of Radiologists (CAR) is the national voice of radiology committed to promoting the highest standards in patient-centered imaging, lifelong learning, and research. The CAR has created an AI working group with the mandate to discuss and deliberate on practice, policy, and patient care issues related to the introduction and implementation of AI in imaging. This white paper provides recommendations for the CAR derived from deliberations between members of the AI working group. This white paper on AI in radiology will inform CAR members and policymakers on key terminology, educational needs of members, research and development, partnerships, potential clinical applications, implementation, structure and governance, role of radiologists, and potential impact of AI on radiology in Canada. As artificial intelligence technology advances, the application of object detection technology in the field of SAR (synthetic aperture radar) imagery is becoming increasingly widespread. However, it also faces challenges such as resource limitations in spaceborne environments and significant uncertainty in the intensity of interference in application scenarios. These factors make the performance evaluation of object detection key to ensuring the smooth execution of tasks. In the face of such complex and harsh application scenarios, methods that rely on single-dimensional evaluation to assess models have had their limitations highlighted. Therefore, this paper proposes a multi-dimensional evaluation method for deep learning models used in SAR image object detection. This method evaluates models in a multi-dimensional manner, covering the training, testing, and application stages of the model, and constructs a multi-dimensional evaluation index system. The training stage includes assessing training efficiency and the impact of training samples; the testing stage includes model performance evaluation, application-based evaluation, and task-based evaluation; and the application stage includes model operation evaluation and model deployment evaluation. The evaluations of these three stages constitute the key links in the performance evaluation of deep learning models. Despite the complex punching shear behavior of reinforced concrete slabs have been comprehensively addressed in the literature, it is further essential to develop a universal design model comprising high accuracy and the simplicity for design practicability, adaptable to diverse conditions encountered in practice. The Space-Air-Ground Information Network (SAGIN) provides extensive coverage, enabling global connectivity across a diverse array of sensors, devices, and objects. These devices generate large amounts of data that require advanced analytics and decision making using artificial intelligence techniques. However, traditional deep learning approaches encounter drawbacks, primarily, the requirement to transmit substantial volumes of raw data to central servers, which raises concerns about user privacy breaches during transmission. Federated learning (FL) has emerged as a viable solution to these challenges, addressing both data volume and privacy issues effectively. Nonetheless, the deployment of FL faces its own set of obstacles, notably the excessive delay and energy consumption caused by the vast number of devices and fluctuating channel conditions. In this paper, by considering the heterogeneity of devices and the instability of the network state, the delay and energy consumption models of each round of federated training are established. Subsequently, we introduce a strategic node selection approach aimed at minimizing training costs. Building upon this, we propose an innovative, empirically driven Double Deep Q Network (DDQN)-based algorithm called low-cost node selection in federated learning (LCNSFL). The LCNSFL algorithm can assist edge servers in selecting the optimal set of devices to participate in federated training before the start of each round, based on the collected system state information. As the global population is expected to reach 10 billion by 2050, the agricultural sector faces the challenge of achieving an increase of 60% in food production without using much more land. Typically, the problem with using AI in such agricultural sectors is the need for more specific infrastructure to enable developers to design AI and ML engineers to deploy these AIs. This article presents an infrastructure for the execution and development of AI-based models using open-source technology, and this infrastructure has been optimized and tuned for agricultural environments. By embracing the MLOps culture, the automation of AI model development processes is promoted, ensuring efficient workflows, fostering collaboration among multidisciplinary teams, and promoting the rapid deployment of AI-driven solutions adaptable to changing field conditions. The proposed architecture integrates state-of-the-art tools to cover the entire AI model lifecycle, enabling efficient workflows for data scientists and ML engineers. The emergence of data-driven analytics and intelligent monitoring systems is radically transforming the world of competitive sports. However, robust real-time activity recognition remains elusive for rapid-paced sports like table tennis due to the complexity of strokes and quick maneuvering. This paper tries to overcome this challenge through an innovative cloud-supported system integrating the Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning, and wearable sensors for automated analysis of table tennis gameplay. We strategically set up a multi-camera IoT system around a table tennis court to compile a rich labeled image dataset encapsulating over 15,000 frames. To improve model generalization, the images captured various playing styles, lighting conditions, and camera angles. We developed tailored SVM and CNN architectures optimized for table tennis activity classification. The models were trained on GPU-accelerated platforms using the curated dataset. After hyperparameter tuning and cross-validation, the CNN model achieved 96.2% accuracy, a precision value of 96.3%, a recall value of 95.2%, and an F1-score of 96.3% in classifying standard strokes and serves. Additionally, the models exhibited impressive processing speeds of 22–34 fps, enabling real-time utilization. Our proposed model outperformed the latest models in this field with higher accuracy, recall values, F1-score, and precision. While expanding the dataset diversity and testing variations of deep network architectures could further enhance performance, this paper demonstrates a crucial leap toward helping real-time analytics in table tennis using an AI-powered computer vision approach. Emotional intelligence (EI) involves recognizing, regulating, and understanding emotions in oneself and others, enabling effective relationship management. Emotional Intelligence acts as a differentiator in both personal and professional lives. Nevertheless, many people lack the ability of conveying and interpreting human emotions efficiently due to which they fall short in their social and professional lives. However, this can be improved if people know their Emotional Quotient (EQ) score and work towards improving it by implementing certain skills. Both the ABO and Rhesus (Rh) blood groups play crucial roles in blood transfusion medicine. Herein, we report a simple and low-cost paper-based analytical device (PAD) for phenotyping red blood cell (RBC) antigens. Using this Rh typing format, 5 Rh antigens on RBCs can be simultaneously detected and macroscopically visualized within 12 min. The proposed Rh phenotyping relies on the presence or absence of hemagglutination in the sample zones after immobilizing the antibodies targeting each Rh antigen. The PAD was optimized in terms of filter paper type, antibodies, and distance of the visualization zone. In this study, the optimal conditions were Whatman filter paper Grade 4; anti-D, –C, -E, -c, and -e antibodies; RBC suspension of 30%; and a visualization zone of 1 cm above the sample zone. The accuracy of simultaneously phenotyping the five Rh RBC antigens in the blood samples (n = 4692) was 99.19%, comparable with the accuracy of the gold-standard tube method used by blood bank laboratories in several regions of Thailand. Furthermore, decision making based on this method can be assisted by deep learning. After implementing a two-stage objective detection algorithm (YOLO v4-tiny) and classification model (DenseNet-201), the ambiguous images (n = 48) were interpreted with 100% accuracy. Visual XAI methods enable experts to reveal importance maps highlighting intended classes over input images. This research paper presents a novel approach to visual explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) for object detection in deep learning models. The study investigates the effectiveness of activation maps generated by five different methods, namely GradCAM, GradCAM++, EigenCAM, HayCAM, and a newly proposed method called "HayCAMJ", in detecting objects within images. The experiments were conducted on two datasets (Pascal VOC 2007 and Pascal VOC 2012) and three models (ResNet18, ResNet34, and MobileNet). Zero padding was applied to resize and center the objects due to the large objects in the images. The results show that HayCAMJ performs better than other XAI techniques in detecting small objects. In this paper, we present a novel paradigm for disease detection. We build an artificial intelligence based system where various biomedical data are retrieved from distributed and homogeneous sensors. We use different deep learning architectures (VGG16, RESNET, and DenseNet) with ensemble learning and attention mechanisms to study the interactions between different biomedical data to detect and diagnose diseases. We conduct extensive testing on biomedical data. The results show the benefits of using deep learning technologies in the field of artificial intelligence of medical things to diagnose diseases in the healthcare decision‐making process. Deep learning (LeCun et al. in Nature 521(7553):436–444, 2015) workloads are common in today's production clusters due to the proliferation of deep learning driven AI (Russell and Norvig, Artificial intelligence: a modern approach, Pearson Education, Upper Saddle River, 2003) services. As deep learning workloads and GPUs all grow more heterogeneous, efficient and fair resource scheduling are the key to the maximal performance of a deep learning cluster. However, existing cluster schedulers are largely not tailored to deep learning jobs, and typically specifying a fixed amount of resources for each job, prohibiting high resource efficiency and job performance. Thus we reconsider the problem in this paper, and to resolve them we proposes MixTran, which works fairly and efficiently for mixed deep learning workloads on heterogeneous GPU clusters. At first, MixTran abstracts heterogeneous GPU resources and distributes them fairly to users in the form of virtual tickets. Then, MixTran transfers uniform requests into a global optimization model, which can make efficient use of GPUs and satisfy the quantified resource requests, heterogeneous node constraints and user fairness constraints. Finally, MixTran conducts greedy resource trading according to the second trader price, which can benefit both users. In the evaluation, we prove MixTran can greatly decrease total execution time of deep learning workloads than traditional scheduler up to 30%–50% and maintain the fairness of multiple users. Deep learning has achieved immense success in computer vision and has the potential to help physicians analyze visual content for disease and other abnormalities. However, the current state of deep learning is very much a black box, making medical professionals skeptical about integrating these methods into clinical practice. Several methods have been proposed to shed some light on these black boxes, but there is no consensus on the opinion of medical doctors that will consume these explanations. This paper presents a study asking medical professionals about their opinion of current state-of-the-art explainable artificial intelligence methods when applied to a gastrointestinal disease detection use case. We compare two different categories of explanation methods, intrinsic and extrinsic, and gauge their opinion of the current value of these explanations. The results indicate that intrinsic explanations are preferred and that physicians see value in the explanations. Based on the feedback collected in our study, future explanations of medical deep neural networks can be tailored to the needs and expectations of doctors. Stress is a natural yet potentially harmful aspect of human life, necessitating effective management, particularly during overwhelming experiences. This paper presents a scoping review of personalized stress detection models using wearable technology. Employing the PRISMA-ScR framework for rigorous methodological structuring, we systematically analyzed literature from key databases including Scopus, IEEE Xplore, and PubMed. Our focus was on biosignals, AI methodologies, datasets, wearable devices, and real-world implementation challenges. The review presents an overview of stress and its biological mechanisms, details the methodology for the literature search, and synthesizes the findings. It shows that biosignals, especially EDA and PPG, are frequently utilized for stress detection and demonstrate potential reliability in multimodal settings. Evidence for a trend towards deep learning models was found, although the limited comparison with traditional methods calls for further research. Concerns arise regarding the representativeness of datasets and practical challenges in deploying wearable technologies, which include issues related to data quality and privacy. Photothermal techniques are infrared remote sensing techniques that have been used for biomedical applications, as well as industrial non-destructive testing (NDT). Machine learning is a branch of artificial intelligence, which includes a set of algorithms for learning from past data and analyzing new data, without being explicitly programmed to do so. In this paper, we first review the latest development of machine learning and its applications in photothermal techniques. Next, we present our latest work on machine learning for data analysis in opto-thermal transient emission radiometry (OTTER), which is a type of photothermal technique that has been extensively used in skin hydration, skin hydration depth profiles, skin pigments, as well as topically applied substances and skin penetration measurements. We have investigated different algorithms, such as random forest regression, gradient boosting regression, support vector machine (SVM) regression, and partial least squares regression, as well as deep learning neural network regression. Methods: A search of the PubMed database was conducted based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria for the use of DL methods within the abovementioned areas. Results: A total of 784 articles were found, of which, 64 were included. Reconstruction of the prostate, the detection and stratification of prostate cancer, the reconstruction of prostate cancer, and diagnosis on PET/CT, ADT, and biopsy were analyzed in 21, 22, 6, 7, 2, and 6 studies, respectively. Among studies describing DL use for MR-based purposes, datasets with magnetic field power of 3 T, 1.5 T, and 3/1.5 T were used in 18/19/5, 0/1/0, and 3/2/1 studies, respectively, of 6/7 studies analyzing DL for PET/CT diagnosis which used data from a single institution. Among the radiotracers, [68Ga]Ga-PSMA-11, [18F]DCFPyl, and [18F]PSMA-1007 were used in 5, 1, and 1 study, respectively. Only two studies that analyzed DL in the context of DT met the inclusion criteria. Both were performed with a single-institution dataset with only manual labeling of training data. Three studies, each analyzing DL for prostate biopsy, were performed with single- and multi-institutional datasets. TeUS, TRUS, and MRI were used as input modalities in two, three, and one study, respectively. Lost circulation is a significant challenge in oil and gas drilling, which can lead to various costly and time-consuming problems. It is of great significance to use artificial intelligence technology to accurately predict the risk of lost circulation. The lost circulation prediction problem was converted into an imbalanced classification problem, which pose challenges to traditional deep learning models due to the imbalance between categories and the lack of high correlation between drilling features. Accuracy is not an appropriate measurement for imbalanced classification algorithms. A deep AUC maximization (DAM) algorithm, which is called FAUC-S, is introduced in this paper. It trains a combination deep learning model by focusing on the AUC loss of hard samples (FAUC-S). Several traditional deep learning methods are also applied to classify lost circulation risk during oil exploration in the experiments. The result shows that the FAUC-S method achieved the highest accuracy, recall, and F1 score among the other three models. This confirms that the FAUC-S model has superior classification performance. Anemia is a severe health condition commonly prevalent among women of reproductive age and children below five years. Screening patients before the condition becomes critical and can save many lives. World Health Organization (WHO) has set the "Global nutrition target 2025-anemia," aiming to reduce 50% of anemia cases among women of reproductive age. This target can be achieved through a time-efficient, cost-effective, and easy-to-use tool. Traditional testing methods require specific chemicals, machines, and equipment that are not available everywhere. It also requires the presence of nurses, laboratory workers, and doctors. These methods are costly, time-consuming, and produce biohazard waste, thus polluting the environment. We developed an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based bot that can be used for screening people for anemia. The bot service is based on two models: a segmentation model to segment the Region of Interest (ROI) and a classification model to classify anemic cases from normal ones. To train the model, we have collected data from 160 anemic and 140 non-anemic persons. In this paper, we have explained the architecture of the models, all the training parameters, and their deployment on cloud services using the REAN chatbot service. We manage to reach an Intersection Over Union (IOU) score of 0.922 for the segmentation model; validation recall of 0.95 and validation accuracy of 0.9699 for the classification model. This system is easy to use and does not depend on the availability of comprehensive laboratory infrastructure or trained personnel and thus can enable screening of anemia in low-resource settings. Remote sensing datasets usually have a wide range of spatial and spectral resolutions. They provide unique advantages in surveillance systems, and many government organizations use remote sensing multispectral imagery to monitor security-critical infrastructures or targets. A backdoored AI model performs well on clean data but behaves abnormally when a planted trigger appears in the data. Backdoor attacks have been extensively studied in machine learning-based computer vision applications with natural images. However, much less research has been conducted on remote sensing imagery, which typically consists of many more bands in addition to the red, green, and blue bands found in natural images. In this paper, we first extensively studied a popular backdoor attack, BadNets, applied to a remote sensing dataset, where the trigger was planted in all of the bands in the data. Our results showed that SOTA defense mechanisms, including Neural Cleanse, TABOR, Activation Clustering, Fine-Pruning, GangSweep, Strip, DeepInspect, and Pixel Backdoor, had difficulties detecting and mitigating the backdoor attack. We then proposed an explainable AI-guided backdoor attack specifically for remote sensing imagery by placing triggers in the image sub-bands. Our proposed attack model even poses stronger challenges to these SOTA defense mechanisms, and no method was able to defend it. Fairness has become a critical value online, and the latest studies consider it in many problems. In recommender systems, fairness is important since the visibility of items is controlled by systems. Previous fairness-aware recommender systems assume that sufficient relationship data between users and items are available. However, it is common that new users and items are frequently introduced, and they have no relationship data yet. In this paper, we study recommendation methods to enhance fairness in a cold-start state. Fairness is more significant when the preference of a user or the popularity of an item is unknown. We propose a meta-learning-based cold-start recommendation framework called FaRM to alleviate the unfairness of recommendations. The proposed framework consists of three steps. We first propose a fairness-aware meta-path generation method to eliminate bias in sensitive attributes. In addition, we construct fairness-aware user representations through the meta-path aggregation approach. Then, we propose a novel fairness objective function and introduce a joint learning method to minimize the trade-off between relevancy and fairness. In extensive experiments with various cold-start scenarios, it is shown that FaRM is significantly superior in fairness performance while preserving relevance accuracy over previous work.
