In this white paper, experts from the Digital Pathology Association (DPA) define terminology and concepts in the emerging field of computational pathology, with a focus on its application to histology images analyzed together with their associated patient data to extract information. This review offers a historical perspective and describes the potential clinical benefits from research and applications in this field, as well as significant obstacles to adoption. Best practices for implementing computational pathology workflows are presented. These include infrastructure considerations, acquisition of training data, quality assessments, as well as regulatory, ethical, and cyber‐security concerns. In recent years, the issue of preserving the privacy of parties involved in blockchain transactions has garnered significant attention. To ensure privacy protection for both sides of the transaction, many researchers are using ring signature technology instead of the original signature technology. However, in practice, identifying the signer of anillegal blockchain transactiononce ithas beenplacedon the chainnecessitates a signature technique that offers conditional anonymity. Some illegals can conduct illegal transactions and evade the lawusing ring signatures,which offer perfect anonymity. This paper firstly constructs a conditionally anonymous linkable ring signature using the Diffie-Hellman key exchange protocol and the Elliptic Curve Discrete Logarithm, which offers a non-interactive process for finding the signer of a ring signature in a specific case. Secondly, this paper's proposed scheme is proven correct and secure under Elliptic Curve Discrete Logarithm Assumptions. Lastly, compared to previous constructions, the scheme presented in this paper provides a non-interactive, efficient, and secure confirmation process. In addition, this paper presents the implementation of the proposed scheme on a personal computer, where the confirmation process takes only 2, 16, and 24ms for ring sizes of 4, 24 and 48, respectively, and the confirmation process can be combined with a smart contract on the blockchain with a tested millisecond level of running efficiency. In conclusion, the proposed scheme offers a solution to the challenge of identifying the signer of an illegal blockchain transaction, making it an essential contribution to the field. Facial emotion detection systems have witnessed significant advancements, particularly with the utilization of convolutional neural networks (CNNs). This paper provides a thorough survey of such systems, beginning with an introduction to artificial intelligence and the evolutionary trajectory of neural networks, including artificial neural networks (ANNs), recurrent neural networks (RNNs), and CNNs. The paper elaborates on CNNs' architecture and functionality, elucidating key components such as convolutional layers, pooling layers, and fully connected layers, while also spotlighting prominent CNN architectures like AlexNet and ResNet. It delineates the broad scope and diverse applications of facial emotion detection systems across various domains, including marketing research, crowd testing, AI robots, banking, and entertainment. In the literature review section, recent research papers on CNN models for facial expression recognition are synthesized, highlighting variances in datasets, methodologies, and accuracy levels. The paper concludes that CNNs represent the current pinnacle of facial emotion classification techniques, surpassing previous methodologies such as eigenfaces. This paper addresses issues concerning biometric authentication based on handwritten signatures. Our research aimed to check whether a handwritten signature acquired with a mobile device can effectively verify a user's identity. We present a novel online signature verification method using coordinates of points and pressure values at each point collected with a mobile device. Convolutional neural networks are used for signature verification. In this paper, three neural network models are investigated, i.e., two self-made light SigNet and SigNetExt models and the VGG-16 model commonly used in image processing. The convolutional neural networks aim to determine whether the acquired signature sample matches the class declared by the signer. Thus, the scenario of closed set verification is performed. The effectiveness of our method was tested on signatures acquired with mobile phones. We used the subset of the multimodal database, MobiBits, that was captured using a custom-made application and consists of samples acquired from 53 people of diverse ages. The experimental results on accurate data demonstrate that developed architectures of deep neural networks can be successfully used for online handwritten signature verification. The integration of an oral cancer early detection and staging system through the implementation of a mobile application is the focus of this research paper. The mobile app comprises three main components: 1) detecting oral cancer using lips and tongue images, 2) oral cancer detection using CT scan images, 3) oral cancer detection employing histopathological images and assessing the severity of the patient's cancer using medical data. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) were utilized to train models for the first two parts, while logistic regression was employed to determine the severity of patients' conditions. Sign language, a visual-gestural language used by the deaf and hard-of-hearing community, plays a crucial role in facilitating communication and promoting inclusivity. Sign language recognition (SLR), the process of automatically recognizing and interpreting sign language gestures, has gained significant attention in recent years due to its potential to bridge the communication gap between the hearing impaired and the hearing world. The emergence and continuous development of deep learning techniques have provided inspiration and momentum for advancing SLR. This paper presents a comprehensive and up-to-date analysis of the advancements, challenges, and opportunities in deep learning-based sign language recognition, focusing on the past five years of research. We explore various aspects of SLR, including sign data acquisition technologies, sign language datasets, evaluation methods, and different types of neural networks. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) and Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) have shown promising results in fingerspelling and isolated sign recognition. However, the continuous nature of sign language poses challenges, leading to the exploration of advanced neural network models such as the Transformer model for continuous sign language recognition (CSLR). Despite significant advancements, several challenges remain in the field of SLR. These challenges include expanding sign language datasets, achieving user independence in recognition systems, exploring different input modalities, effectively fusing features, modeling co-articulation, and improving semantic and syntactic understanding. Deep learning, a crucial technique for achieving artificial intelligence (AI), has been successfully applied in many fields. The gradual application of the latest architectures of deep learning in the field of time series forecasting (TSF), such as Transformers, has shown excellent performance and results compared to traditional statistical methods. These applications are widely present in academia and in our daily lives, covering many areas including forecasting electricity consumption in power systems, meteorological rainfall, traffic flow, quantitative trading, risk control in finance, sales operations and price predictions for commercial companies, and pandemic prediction in the medical field. Deep learning-based TSF tasks stand out as one of the most valuable AI scenarios for research, playing an important role in explaining complex real-world phenomena. However, deep learning models still face challenges: they need to deal with the challenge of large-scale data in the information age, achieve longer forecasting ranges, reduce excessively high computational complexity, etc. Therefore, novel methods and more effective solutions are essential. In this paper, we review the latest developments in deep learning for TSF. We begin by introducing the recent development trends in the field of TSF and then propose a new taxonomy from the perspective of deep neural network models, comprehensively covering articles published over the past five years. We also organize commonly used experimental evaluation metrics and datasets. Finally, we point out current issues with the existing solutions and suggest promising future directions in the field of deep learning combined with TSF. Point-of-interest (POI) recommendation has attracted great attention in the field of recommender systems over the past decade. Various techniques, such as those based on matrix factorization and deep neural networks, have demonstrated outstanding performance. However, these methods are susceptible to the impact of data sparsity. Data sparsity is a significant characteristic of POI recommendation, where some POIs have limited interaction records and, in extreme cases, become cold-start POIs with no interaction history. To alleviate the influence of data sparsity on model performance, this paper introduced FAGRec, a POI-recommendation model based on the feature-aware graph. The key idea was to construct an interaction graph between POIs and their initial features. This allows the transformation of POI features into a weighted aggregation of initial features. Different POIs can share the learned representations of initial features, thereby mitigating the issue of data sparsity. Furthermore, we proposed attention-based graph neural networks and a user preference estimation method based on delayed time factors for learning representations of POIs and users, contributing to the generation of recommendations. Eye health has become a global health concern and attracted broad attention. Over the years, researchers have proposed many state‐of‐the‐art convolutional neural networks (CNNs) to assist ophthalmologists in diagnosing ocular diseases efficiently and precisely. However, most existing methods were dedicated to constructing sophisticated CNNs, inevitably ignoring the trade‐off between performance and model complexity. To alleviate this paradox, this paper proposes a lightweight yet efficient network architecture, mixed‐decomposed convolutional network (MDNet), to recognise ocular diseases. In MDNet, we introduce a novel mixed‐decomposed depthwise convolution method, which takes advantage of depthwise convolution and depthwise dilated convolution operations to capture low‐resolution and high‐resolution patterns by using fewer computations and fewer parameters. We conduct extensive experiments on the clinical anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS‐OCT), LAG, University of California San Diego, and CIFAR‐100 datasets. The results show our MDNet achieves a better trade‐off between the performance and model complexity than efficient CNNs including MobileNets and MixNets. Specifically, our MDNet outperforms MobileNets by 2.5% of accuracy by using 22% fewer parameters and 30% fewer computations on the AS‐OCT dataset. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The default scheduler of Apache Hadoop demonstrates operational inefficiencies when connecting external sources and processing transformation jobs. This paper has proposed a novel scheduler for enhancement of the performance of the Hadoop Yet Another Resource Negotiator (YARN) scheduler, called the Adaptive Node and Container Aware Scheduler (ANACRAC), that aligns cluster resources to the demands of the applications in the real world. The approach performs to leverage the user-provided configurations as a unique design to apportion nodes, or containers within the nodes, to application thresholds. Additionally, it provides the flexibility to the applications for selecting and choosing which node's resources they want to manage and adds limits to prevent threshold breaches by adding additional jobs as needed. Node or container awareness can be utilized individually or in combination to increase efficiency. On top of this, the resource availability within the node and containers can also be investigated.This paper also focuses on the elasticity of the containers and self-adaptiveness depending on the job type. The results proved that 15%-20% performance improvement was achieved compared with the node and container awareness feature of the ANACRAC. It has been validated that this ANACRAC scheduler demonstrates a 70%-90% performance improvement compared with the default Fair scheduler. Experimental results also demonstrated the success of the enhancement and a performance improvement in the range of 60% to 200% when applications were connected with external interfaces and high workloads. With the rapid growth in the proportion of renewable energy access and the structural complexity of distributed energy systems, traditional microgrid (MG) scheduling methods that rely on mathematical optimization models and expert experience are facing significant challenges. Therefore, it is essential to present a novel scheduling technique with high intelligence and fast decision-making capacity to realize MGs' automatic operation and regulation. This paper proposes an optimal scheduling decision-making method for MGs based on deep neural networks (DNN). Firstly, a typical mathematical scheduling model used for MG operation is introduced, and the limitations of current methods are analyzed. Then, a two-stage optimal scheduling framework comprising day-ahead and intra-day stages is presented. The day-ahead part is solved by mixed integer linear programming (MILP), and the intra-day part uses a convolutional neural network (CNN)—bidirectional long short-term memory (Bi LSTM) for high-speed rolling decision making, with the outputs adjusted by a power correction balance algorithm. Surface transportation has evolved through technology advancements using parallel knowledge areas such as machine learning (ML). However, the transportation industry has not yet taken full advantage of ML. To evaluate this gap, we utilized a literature review approach to locate, categorize, and synthesize the principal concepts of research papers regarding surface transportation systems using ML algorithms, and we then decomposed them into their fundamental elements. We explored more than 100 articles, literature review papers, and books. The results show that 74% of the papers concentrate on forecasting, while multilayer perceptions, long short-term memory, random forest, supporting vector machine, XGBoost, and deep convolutional neural networks are the most preferred ML algorithms. However, sophisticated ML algorithms have been minimally used. The root-cause analysis revealed a lack of effective collaboration between the ML and transportation experts, resulting in the most accessible transportation applications being used as a case study to test or enhance a given ML algorithm and not necessarily to enhance a mobility or safety issue. Additionally, the transportation community does not define transportation issues clearly and does not provide publicly available transportation datasets. The transportation sector must offer an open-source platform to showcase the sector's concerns and build spatiotemporal datasets for ML experts to accelerate technology advancements. In the last 10 years, the demand for robot-based depalletization systems has constantly increased due to the growth of sectors such as logistics, storage, and supply chains. Since the scenarios are becoming more and more unstructured, characterized by unknown pallet layouts and stock-keeping unit shapes, the classical depalletization systems based on the knowledge of predefined positions within the pallet frame are going to be substituted by innovative and robust solutions based on 2D/3D vision and Deep Learning (DL) methods. In particular, the Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) are deep networks that have proven to be effective in processing 2D/3D images, for example in the automatic object detection task, and robust to the possible variability among the data. However, deep neural networks need a big amount of data to be trained. In this context, whenever deep networks are involved in object detection for supporting depalletization systems, the dataset collection represents one of the main bottlenecks during the commissioning phase. The present work aims at comparing different training strategies to customize an object detection model aiming at minimizing the number of images required for model fitting, while ensuring reliable and robust performances. Different approaches based on a CNN for object detection are proposed, evaluated, and compared in terms of the F1-score. The study was conducted considering different starting conditions in terms of the neural network's weights, the datasets, and the training set sizes. The proposed approaches were evaluated on the detection of different kinds of paper boxes placed on an industrial pallet. The outcome of the work validates that the best strategy is based on fine-tuning of a CNN-based model already trained on the detection of paper boxes, with a median F1-score greater than 85.0 % . Diabetic retinopathy (DR) poses a significant challenge in diabetes management, with its progression often asymptomatic until advanced stages. This underscores the urgent need for cost-effective and reliable screening methods. Consequently, the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) tools presents a promising avenue to address this need effectively. We provide an overview of the current state of the art results and techniques in DR screening using AI, while also identifying gaps in research for future exploration. By synthesizing existing database and pinpointing areas requiring further investigation, this paper seeks to guide the direction of future research in the field of automatic diabetic retinopathy screening. There has been a continuous rise in the number of articles detailing deep learning (DL) methods designed for the automatic screening of diabetic retinopathy especially by the year 2021. Researchers utilized various databases, with a primary focus on the IDRiD dataset. This dataset consists of color fundus images captured at an ophthalmological clinic situated in India. It comprises 516 images that depict various stages of DR and diabetic macular edema. Each of the chosen papers concentrates on various DR signs. Nevertheless, a significant portion primarily focused on detecting exudates, which remains insufficient to assess the overall presence of this disease. Various AI methods have been employed to identify DR signs. Among the chosen papers, 4.7 % utilized detection methods, 46.5 % employed classification techniques, 41.9 % relied on segmentation, and 7 % opted for a combination of classification and segmentation. Metrics calculated from 80 % of the articles employing preprocessing techniques demonstrated the significant benefits of this approach in enhancing results quality. In addition, multiple DL techniques, starting by classification, detection then segmentation. Researchers used mostly YOLO for detection, ViT for classification, and U-Net for segmentation. Another perspective on the evolving landscape of AI models for diabetic retinopathy screening lies in the increasing adoption of Convolutional Neural Networks for classification tasks and U-Net architectures for segmentation purposes; however, there is a growing realization within the research community that these techniques, while powerful individually, can be even more effective when integrated. This integration holds promise for not only diagnosing DR, but also accurately classifying its different stages, thereby enabling more tailored treatment strategies. Despite this potential, the development of AI models for DR screening is fraught with challenges. Chief among these is the difficulty in obtaining the high-quality, labeled data necessary for training models to perform effectively. This scarcity of data poses significant barriers to achieving robust performance and can hinder progress in developing accurate screening systems. Moreover, managing the complexity of these models, particularly deep neural networks, presents its own set of challenges. Additionally, interpreting the outputs of these models and ensuring their reliability in real-world clinical settings remain ongoing concerns. Furthermore, the iterative process of training and adapting these models to specific datasets can be time-consuming and resource-intensive. These challenges underscore the multifaceted nature of developing effective AI models for DR screening. Addressing these obstacles requires concerted efforts from researchers, clinicians, and technologists to develop new approaches and overcome existing limitations. Breast cancer is one of the most common causes of death in women. Early signs of breast cancer can be an abnormality depicted on breast images like breast ultrasonography. Unfortunately, ultrasound images contain a lot of noise, which greatly increases the difficulty for doctors to interpret them. In recent years, computer-aided diagnosis (CAD) has been widely used in medical images, reducing the workload of doctors and the probability of misdiagnosis. However, it still faces the following challenges in clinical practice: one is the lack of interpretability, and another is that the accuracy is not high enough. In this paper, we propose a classification model of breast ultrasound images that leverages tumor boundaries as prior knowledge and strengthens the model to guide classification. Furthermore, we employ the advantages of convolutional neural network (CNN) to extract local features and Transformer to extract global features to achieve information balance and complementarity between the two neural network models which increase the recognition performance of the model. Additionally, an explanation method is used to generate visual results, thereby improving the poor interpretability of deep learning models. Finally, we evaluate the model on the BUSI dataset and compare it with other CNN and Transformer models. The paper presents the analysis of modern Artificial Intelligence algorithms for the automated system supporting human beings during their conversation in Polish language. Their task is to perform Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) and process it further, for instance fill the computer-based form or perform the Natural Language Processing (NLP) to assign the conversation to one of predefined categories. The state-of-the-art review is required to select the optimal set of tools to process speech in the difficult conditions, which degrade accuracy of ASR. The paper presents the top-level architecture of the system applicable for the task. Characteristics of Polish language are discussed. Next, existing ASR solutions and architectures with the End-To-End (E2E) Deep Neural Network (DNN) based ASR models are presented in detail. Human activity recognition is a recent area of research for researchers. Activity recognition has many applications in smart homes to observe and track toddlers or oldsters for their safety, monitor indoor and outdoor activities, develop Tele immersion systems, or detect abnormal activity recognition. Three dimensions (3D) skeleton data is robust and somehow view-invariant. Due to this, it is one of the popular choices for human action recognition. This paper proposed using a transversal tree from 3D skeleton data to represent videos in a sequence. Further proposed two neural networks: convolutional neural network recurrent neural network_1 (CNN_RNN_1), used to find the optimal features and convolutional neural network recurrent neural network network_2 (CNN_RNN_2), used to classify actions. The deep neural network-based model proposed CNN_RNN_1 and CNN_RNN_2 that uses a convolutional neural network (CNN), Long short-term memory (LSTM) and Bidirectional Long shorttermmemory (BiLSTM) layered. The system efficiently achieves the desired accuracy over state-of-the-artmodels, i.e., 88.89%. The performance of the proposed model compared with the existing state-of-the-art models. The NTURGB + D dataset uses for analyzing experimental results. It is one of the large benchmark datasets for human activity recognition. At present, in the age of computers and automation of services, deep learning (DL) technology, mainly the subset of machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI), is expressively used in innumerable domains of computer vision such as data analysis, image recognition, classification, natural language processing, and many more. Introduction: Nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) is endemic to Eastern and South-Eastern Asia, and, in 2020, 77% of global cases were diagnosed in these regions. Apart from its distinct epidemiology, the natural behavior, treatment, and prognosis are different from other head and neck cancers. With the growing trend of artificial intelligence (AI), especially deep learning (DL), in head and neck cancer care, we sought to explore the unique clinical application and implementation direction of AI in the management of NPC. Methods: The search protocol was performed to collect publications using AI, machine learning (ML) and DL in NPC management from PubMed, Scopus and Embase. The articles were filtered using inclusion and exclusion criteria, and the quality of the papers was assessed. Data were extracted from the finalized articles. Results: A total of 78 articles were reviewed after removing duplicates and papers that did not meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria. After quality assessment, 60 papers were included in the current study. There were four main types of applications, which were auto-contouring, diagnosis, prognosis, and miscellaneous applications (especially on radiotherapy planning). The different forms of convolutional neural networks (CNNs) accounted for the majority of DL algorithms used, while the artificial neural network (ANN) was the most frequent ML model implemented. The latest survey results show an increase in accidents on the roads involving pedestrians and cyclists. The reasons for such situations are many, the fault actually lies on both sides. Equipping vehicles, especially autonomous vehicles, with frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) radar and dedicated algorithms for analyzing signals in the time–frequency domain as well as algorithms for recognizing objects in radar imaging through deep neural networks can positively affect safety. This paper presents a method for recognizing and distinguishing a group of objects based on radar signatures of objects and a special convolutional neural network structure. The proposed approach is based on a database of radar signatures generated on pedestrian, cyclist, and car models in a Matlab environment. The obtained results of simulations and positive tests provide a basis for the application of the system in many sectors and areas of the economy. Innovative aspects of the work include the method of discriminating between multiple objects on a single radar signature, the dedicated architecture of the convolutional neural network, and the use of a method of generating a custom input database. Accurately predicting the long-term trajectory of a surface drifting buoy (SDB) is challenging. This paper proposes a promising solution to the SDB trajectory prediction based on artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. Initially, a scalable mathematical model for trajectory prediction is developed, transforming the challenge of predicting trajectory points into predicting velocities in eastward and northward directions. Subsequently, a four-layer trajectory prediction calculation framework (FLTPCF) is established, outlining a complete workflow for the real-time online training of marine environment data and SDBs' trajectory prediction. Thirdly, for facilitating accurate long-term trajectory prediction, a hybrid artificial neural network trajectory prediction model, named CNN–BiGRU–Attention, integrates a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), Bidirectional Gated Recurrent Unit (BiGRU), and Attention mechanism (AM), tuned for spatiotemporal feature extraction and extended time-series reasoning. Extensive experiments, including ablation studies, comparative analyses with state-of-the-art models like BiLSTM and Transformer, evaluations against numerical methods, and adaptability tests, were conducted for justifying the CNN–BiGRU–Attention model. The results highlight the CNN–BiGRU–Attention model's excellent convergence, accuracy, and generalization capabilities in predicting 24, 48, and 72 h trajectories for SDBs with varying drogue statuses and under different sea conditions. Maritime traffic is increasing more and more, creating more complex navigation environments for ships. Ship trajectory prediction based on historical AIS data is a vital method of reducing navigation risks and enhancing the efficiency of maritime traffic control. At present, employing machine learning or deep learning techniques to construct predictive models based on AIS data has become a focal point in ship trajectory prediction research. This paper systematically evaluates various trajectory prediction methods, spanning classical machine learning approaches and emerging deep learning techniques, to uncover their respective merits and drawbacks. In this work, a variety of studies were investigated that applied different algorithms in ship trajectory prediction, including regression models (RMs), artificial neural networks (ANNs), Kalman filtering (KF), and random forests (RFs) in machine learning, along with deep learning such as convolutional neural networks (CNNs), recurrent neural networks (RNNs), long short-term memory (LSTM), gate recurrent unit (GRU) networks, and sequence-to-sequence (Seq2seq) networks. The performance of predictive models based on different algorithms in trajectory prediction tasks was graded and analyzed. Among the existing studies, deep learning methods exhibit significant performance and considerable potential application value for maritime traffic systems, which can be assessed by future work on ship trajectory prediction research. Insulators are crucial insulation components and structural supports in power grids, playing a vital role in the transmission lines. Due to temperature fluctuations, internal stress, or damage from hail, insulators are prone to injury. Automatic detection of damaged insulators faces challenges such as diverse types, small defect targets, and complex backgrounds and shapes. Most research for detecting insulator defects has focused on a single defect type or a specific material. However, the insulators in the grid's transmission lines have different colors and materials. Various insulator defects coexist, and the existing methods have difficulty meeting the practical application requirements. Current methods suffer from low detection accuracy and mAP0.5 cannot meet application requirements. This paper proposes an improved you only look once version 7 (YOLOv7) model for multi-type insulator defect detection. First, our model replaces the spatial pyramid pooling cross stage partial network (SPPCSPC) module with the receptive filed block (RFB) module to enhance the network's feature extraction capability. Second, a coordinate attention (CA) mechanism is introduced into the head part to enhance the network's feature representation ability and to improve detection accuracy. Third, a wise intersection over union (WIoU) loss function is employed to address the low-quality samples hindering model generalization during training, thereby improving the model's overall performance. The experimental results indicate that the proposed model exhibits enhancements across various performance metrics. Specifically, there is a 1.6% advancement in mAP_0.5, a corresponding 1.6% enhancement in mAP_0.5:0.95, a 1.3% elevation in precision, and a 1% increase in recall. Moreover, the model achieves parameter reduction by 3.2 million, leading to a decrease of 2.5 GFLOPS in computational cost. Notably, there is also an improvement of 2.81 milliseconds in single-image detection speed. Maximizing protein expression levels poses a major challenge in bioengineering. To increase protein expression levels, numerous factors, including codon bias, codon context bias, hidden stop codons, homologous recombination, suitable guanine-cytosine ratio, and hairpin loop structure, are crucial and quantified by six objective functions: CAI, CPB, HSC, HD, GC3, and SL. Optimizing these six objectives simultaneously constitutes a multi-objective optimization problem, aiming to identify the favorable Pareto solutions rather than a singular optimal solution. However, achieving satisfactory solutions requires numerous cycles and solutions, thus leading to a large number of functional evaluations. While there are frameworks for multi-objective optimization problems, they often lack efficient support for objective function computation in protein encoding. In this paper, we proposed a method to design a set of coding sequences (CDSs) based on non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm III (NSGA-III), accelerated using NVIDIA graphical processing units (GPUs). Experimental results indicated that our method is 15,454 times faster than the Pymoo framework and is evaluated using 100 solutions and 100 cycles. Since our GPU implementation facilitated the use of larger solutions and more cycles, we were able to design a superior set of CDSs by increasing solutions to 400 and cycles to 12,800. In addition, our NSGA-III-based method consistently surpassed the NSGA-II approach when the number of cycles exceeded 3200 by utilizing 100 solutions. Finally, we observed that a gradual reduction of the mutation probability as the number of cycles increased yielded better quality results than maintaining a fixed mutation probability. Background Risk evaluation of lymph node metastasis for early-stage (T1 and T2) colorectal cancers is critical for determining therapeutic strategies. Traditional methods of lymph node metastasis prediction have limited accuracy. This systematic review aimed to review the potential of artificial intelligence in predicting lymph node metastasis in early-stage colorectal cancers. Methods A comprehensive search was performed of papers that evaluated the potential of artificial intelligence in predicting lymph node metastasis in early-stage colorectal cancers. Studies were appraised using the Joanna Briggs Institute tools. The primary outcome was summarizing artificial intelligence models and their accuracy. Secondary outcomes included influential variables and strategies to address challenges. Results Of 3190 screened manuscripts, 11 were included, involving 8648 patients from 1996 to 2023. Due to diverse artificial intelligence models and varied metrics, no data synthesis was performed. Models included random forest algorithms, support vector machine, deep learning, artificial neural network, convolutional neural network and least absolute shrinkage and selection operator regression. Artificial intelligence models' area under the curve values ranged from 0.74 to 0.9993 (slide level) and 0.9476 to 0.9956 (single-node level), outperforming traditional clinical guidelines. Conclusion Artificial intelligence models show promise in predicting lymph node metastasis in early-stage colorectal cancers, potentially refining clinical decisions and improving outcomes. In recent years, with the development of geological prospecting from shallow ore to deep and hidden ore, the difficulty of prospecting is increasing day by day, so the application of computer technology and new methods of geological and mineral exploration is paid more and more attention. The mining and prediction of geological prospecting information based on deep learning have become the frontier field of earth science. However, as a deep artificial intelligence algorithm, deep learning still has many problems to be solved in the big data mining and prediction of geological prospecting, such as the small number of training samples of geological and mineral images, the difficulty of building deep learning network models, and the universal applicability of deep learning models. In this paper, the training samples and convolutional neural network models suitable for geochemical element data mining are constructed to solve the above problems, and the model is successfully applied to the prediction research of gold, silver, lead and zinc polymetallic metallogenic areas in South China. Taking the Pangxidong research area in the west of Guangdong Province as an example, this paper carries out prospecting target prediction research based on a 1:50000 stream sediment survey original data. Firstly, the support vector machine (SVM) model and statistical method were used to determine the ore-related geochemical element assemblage. Secondly, the experimental data of geochemical elements were augmented and a dataset was established. Finally, ResNet-50 neural network model is used for data training and prediction research. The experimental results show that the areas numbered 9, 29, 38, 40, 95, 111, 114, 124, 144 have great metallogenic potential, and this method would be a promising tool for metallogenic prediction. By applying the ResNet-50 neural network in metallogenic prediction, it can provide a new idea for the future exploration of mineral resources. In order to verify the generality of the research method in this paper, we conducted experimental tests on the geochemical dataset of B area, another deposit research area in South China. The results show that 100% of the prediction area obtained by using the proposed method covers the known ore deposit area. The prediction of wildfire spreading is necessary for managing and fighting the forest fire. The traditional models require higher accuracy of the input parameters, which is impossible in real forest fires. The paper proposed a fire-spreading model based on the dynamic data of the fire field to improve its adaptability. The model is designed using a convolutional neural network with mixed-inputs and attention mechanisms (MI-AM-CNN). It predicts the burn map after a period of time through the multiple-channel image containing terrain variables and the current burn map, and the scalars containing climate variables. The channel and spatial attention modules are integrated to handle the advanced features that contain important fire variables information and strengthen the influence of important features on the prediction. Based on the FARSITE, a large number of data sets are generated for training, validating, and testing the models in the paper. The proposed model MI-AM-CNN is compared with the state-of-the-art neural network models. Quantitative results show that MI-AM-CNN has the highest performance in predicting effectiveness and efficiency, and it can be applied recursively to get the continuous predicted results. In addition, the prediction results of MI-AM-CNN on the historical fire data demonstrate the ability of its application in the real fire case. The MI-AM-CNN can be used as a predictive method in firefighting operations, and its predicted results can provide theoretical support for the forest fire spread prediction method based on artificial intelligence. Facial emotion recognition (FER) is a computer vision process aimed at detecting and classifying human emotional expressions. FER systems are currently used in a vast range of applications from areas such as education, healthcare, or public safety; therefore, detection and recognition accuracies are very important. Similar to any computer vision task based on image analyses, FER solutions are also suitable for integration with artificial intelligence solutions represented by different neural network varieties, especially deep neural networks that have shown great potential in the last years due to their feature extraction capabilities and computational efficiency over large datasets. In this context, this paper reviews the latest developments in the FER area, with a focus on recent neural network models that implement specific facial image analysis algorithms to detect and recognize facial emotions. This paper's scope is to present from historical and conceptual perspectives the evolution of the neural network architectures that proved significant results in the FER area. This paper endorses convolutional neural network (CNN)-based architectures against other neural network architectures, such as recurrent neural networks or generative adversarial networks, highlighting the key elements and performance of each architecture, and the advantages and limitations of the proposed models in the analyzed papers. Additionally, this paper presents the available datasets that are currently used for emotion recognition from facial expressions and micro-expressions. The usage of FER systems is also highlighted in various domains such as healthcare, education, security, or social IoT. With the continuous mining and gradual reduction of shallow deposits, deep prospecting has become a new global prospecting trend. In addition, with the development of artificial intelligence, deep learning provides a favorable means for geological big data analysis. This paper, researches the No. II Orebody of the Xiongcun deposit. First, based on previous research results and metallogenic regularity, prospecting information, namely, lithology, Au-Ag-Cu chemical elements and wall rock alteration is extracted, and the block model is established by combining the Kriging interpolation structure. Second, the datasets are divided into dataset I and dataset II according to "randomness" and "depth". Third, deep prospecting prediction models based on deep neural networks (DNN) and the convolutional neural networks (CNN) is constructed, and the model parameters are optimized. Finally, the models are applied to the deep prediction of the Xiongcun No. II Orebody. The results show that the accuracy rate and recall rate of the prediction model based on the DNN algorithm are 96.15% and 89.23%, respectively, and the AUC is 96.39%, which are higher values than those of the CNN algorithm, indicating that the performance of the prediction model based on the DNN algorithm is better. The accuracy of prediction model based on dataset I is higher than that of dataset II. The accuracy of deep metallogenic prediction based on the DNN algorithm is approximately 89%, that based on the CNN is approximately 87%, and that based on prospecting information method is approximately 61.27%. The prediction results of the DNN algorithm are relatively consistent in the spatial location and scale of the orebody. Basketball sport is a comprehensive nonperiodic collective sport, in which sports injuries of various parts are also prone to occur. Its higher exercise intensity not only effectively enhances the physical fitness of the athlete but also causes physical damage due to a series of actions such as frequent take-offs and landings, resulting in certain sports injuries. Therefore, the early warning of injury in basketball is very necessary, and it is very useful to protect the safety of players. In this paper, we investigate how to use the sequence video and artificial intelligence method for the basketball injury risk early warning in order to protect the player and better assist the player to improve their efficiency of training. First, we preprocess the video sequence. We convert the video sequence into image data and perform noise reduction and transformation operations on the image. Second, for the processed image data, we designed a convolutional neural network model to determine the damaged area. Third, we use the neural network model to take the image data with the detection area as the input, perform feature extraction on the data, and finally obtain the early warning value of basketball sports injury. Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the most promising technologies based on machine learning algorithms. In this paper, we propose a workflow for the implementation of deep neural networks. This workflow attempts to combine the flexibility of high-level compilers (HLS)-based networks with the architectural control features of hardware description languages (HDL)-based flows. The architecture consists of a convolutional neural network, SqueezeNet v1.1, and a hard processor system (HPS) that coexists with acceleration hardware to be designed. This methodology allows us to compare solutions based solely on software (PyTorch 1.13.1) and propose heterogeneous inference solutions, taking advantage of the best options within the software and hardware flow. The proposed workflow is implemented on a low-cost field programmable gate array system-on-chip (FPGA SOC) platform, specifically the DE10-Nano development board. We have provided systolic architectural solutions written in OpenCL that are highly flexible and easily tunable to take full advantage of the resources of programmable devices and achieve superior energy efficiencies working with a 32-bit floating point. From a verification point of view, the proposed method is effective, since the reference models in all tests, both for the individual layers and the complete network, have been readily available using packages well known in the development, training, and inference of deep networks. Facial expression recognition technology has been more and more in demand in security, entertainment, education, medical, and other domains as artificial intelligence has advanced, and face expression recognition technology based on deep learning has become one of the research hotspots. However, there are still some issues with the existing deep learning convolutional neural network; the feature extraction technique has to be improved, and the design of the detailed network structure needs to be optimized. It is critical to do more research on the deep learning convolutional neural network model in order to increase the accuracy of face facial expression detection. In this paper, a deep learning convolutional neural network structure combining VGG16 convolutional neural network and long and short-term memory networks is designed to address the shortcomings of existing deep learning methods in face expression recognition, which are prone to overfitting and gradient disappearance, resulting in low test accuracy. This structure easily and effectively collects facial expression information and then classifies the retrieved features using a support vector machine to detect face expressions. Finally, the fer2013 dataset is used to train face expression recognition, and the results demonstrate that the built deep convolutional neural network model can effectively increase face expression identification accuracy. In recent years, the use of remote sensing data obtained from satellite or unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) imagery has grown in popularity for crop classification tasks such as yield prediction, soil classification or crop mapping. The ready availability of information, with improved temporal, radiometric, and spatial resolution, has resulted in the accumulation of vast amounts of data. Meeting the demands of analysing this data requires innovative solutions, and artificial intelligence techniques offer the necessary support. This systematic review aims to evaluate the effectiveness of deep learning techniques for crop classification using remote sensing data from aerial imagery. The reviewed papers focus on a variety of deep learning architectures, including convolutional neural networks (CNNs), long short-term memory networks, transformers, and hybrid CNN-recurrent neural network models, and incorporate techniques such as data augmentation, transfer learning, and multimodal fusion to improve model performance. The review analyses the use of these techniques to boost crop classification accuracy by developing new deep learning architectures or by combining various types of remote sensing data. Additionally, it assesses the impact of factors like spatial and spectral resolution, image annotation, and sample quality on crop classification. Ensembling models or integrating multiple data sources tends to enhance the classification accuracy of deep learning models. Satellite imagery is the most commonly used data source due to its accessibility and typically free availability. The study highlights the requirement for large amounts of training data and the incorporation of non-crop classes to enhance accuracy and provide valuable insights into the current state of deep learning models and datasets for crop classification tasks. This paper proposes a method for recognizing the origin of Saposhnikovia divaricata using the IResNet model to achieve computer vision-based classification. Firstly, we created a small sample dataset and applied data augmentation techniques to enhance its diversity. After that, we introduced the hierarchical residual connection block in the early stage of the original model to expand the perceptual field of the neural network and enhance the extraction of scale features. Meanwhile, a depth-separable convolution operation was adopted in the later stage of the model to replace the conventional convolution operation and further reduce the time cost of the model. The experimental results demonstrate that the improved network model achieved a 5.03% improvement in accuracy compared to the original model while also significantly reducing the number of parameters required for the model. In our experiments, we compared the accuracy of the proposed model with several classical convolutional neural network models, including ResNet50, Resnest50, Res2net50, RepVggNet_B0, and ConvNext_T. The results showed that our proposed model achieved an accuracy of 93.72%, which outperformed ResNet50 (86.68%), Resnest50 (89.38%), Res2net50 (91.83%), RepVggNet_B0 (88.68%), and ConvNext_T (92.18%). Furthermore, our proposed model achieved the highest accuracy among the compared models, with a transmission frame rate of 158.9 fps and an inference time of only 6.29 ms. The research methodology employed in this study has demonstrated the ability to reduce potential errors caused by manual observation, effectively improving the recognition ability of Saposhnikovia divaricata based on existing data. Deep-Fake is an emerging technology used in synthetic media which manipulates individuals in existing images and videos with someone else's likeness. This paper presents the comparative study of different deep neural networks employed for Deep-Fake video detection. In the model, the features from the training data are extracted with the intended Convolution Neural Network model to form feature vectors which are further analysed using a dense layer, a Long Short-Term Memory and Gated Recurrent by adopting transfer learning with fine tuning for training the models. The model is evaluated to detect Artificial Intelligence based Deep fakes images and videos using benchmark datasets. Comparative analysis shows that the detections are majorly biased towards domain of the dataset but there is a noteworthy improvement in the model performance parameters by using Transfer Learning whereas Convolutional- Recurrent Neural Network has benefits in sequence detection. The service efficiency of the university information services platform directly affects the efficiency of university management. However, the university has rich data resources and complex management, and how to construct a comprehensive, standardized, efficient, and shared university information services platform has become a research hotspot. In recent years, the progress of artificial intelligence (AI) in many aspects has created opportunities for its large-scale application in smart campuses. With the wide penetration of AI technology into all walks of life, especially in the fields of industry, commerce, finance, security, and so on, some technologies have experienced practical tests. Many scholars have discussed the significance and possibility of the application of AI in the field of education from a theoretical level. The university's secure information services platform can penetrate into all details of university management. Therefore, this paper studies the construction of a university secure information services platform based on AI, taking the dormitory allocation of freshmen and the face recognition of each building as the entry points. First, the beetle antennae search algorithm was introduced to improve the clustering efficiency and accuracy of the K-means algorithm for intelligent dormitory allocation. Then, the improved variational auto encoder-generative adversarial networks (VAE-GAN) model and convolutional neural networks (CNN)-based face recognition algorithm are proposed to enhance the security of building entry in universities. Finally, the simulation results reveal that the proposed two algorithms improve the clustering efficiency in dormitory allocation and the security of the university in the basic construction of the university information services platform, respectively.
