A 20-minute presentation on our current work on Northeast Greenland Epibenthic structure, biodiversity and functional diversity. The presentation starts with a background about who the Environment and Marine Biology Faculty are at Åbo Akademi University and then more of a scientific background aboutthe Arctic, why it is important and how it is changing. It is then followed by our research into benthic communities and their relationships to the environment via their traits. &nbsp

A short presentation was given at the ICYMARE Youth Conference in 2021. The presentation informs of our work on epibenthic communities in Northeast Greenland and describes biodiversity and functional diversity using species traits and their vulnerability and redundancy. The presentation continues to outline our results that show the differentenvironmental covariates that play a significant role in the presence or absence of species across a high Arctic continental shelf and the influence these covariates have on trait composition. Our results found that traits had a significant role in forming/maintaining biodiversity structure and it isthe first study of its kind to describe epibenthos in this way.&nbsp
