Objective: The aim of this study is to compare the balance ability, anxiety level and motion sickness susceptibility in Vestibular Migraine (VM) patients, migraineurs without history of vertigo (Migraine-only, MO) and healthy controls (HC). We tested the hypothesis that VM patients have worse balance performance and higher anxiety level and motion sickness than MO and HC group., Methods: This cross-sectional study included of 123 definite VM patients, 58 MO patients and 49 HCs. All subjects were evaluated with the Dynamic Gait Index (DGI), the modified Clinical Test of Sensory Integration and Balance (mCTSIB), the Motion Sickness Susceptibility Questionnaire Short-Form (MSSQ-Short), the Panic Agoraphobic Spectrum Self-Report version (PAS-SR) and the Dizziness Handicap Inventory (DHI)., Results: The main balance outcomes indicated that DGI and mCTSIB scores were worse in VM than in MO patients and worse in MO patients than in HCs. Almost 50% of the VM patients fell in the most challenging mCTSIB conditions compared with 20% of MO patients and none of the HCs. VM patients had more marked motion sickness susceptibility, higher anxiety and DHI scores than MO patients and HCs. VM patients who fell had higher DHI and anxiety scores than those who did not., Conclusion: Balance problems, motion sickness, anxiety, and disability are more marked in VM patients than in MO patients and more marked in MO patients than in HCs. This research aim is to it is the examination of the relationship between mindfulness, competitive state anxiety and track performance in athletes. In addition, another aim of the study is to examine the effects of mindfulness levels of athletes on competitive state anxiety and track performance. The study group was determined according to the convenience sampling method in the study, in which the survey model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used. The sample of the research consisted of 292 athletes. The data were collected with the Mindfulness Inventory For Sport, Competition State Anxiety Inventory-2 and track performance information. Before the analysis, the assumption of normality was checked and descriptive statistics were determined. Then, relational (Pearson) and comparative (MANOVA and ANOVA) inferential statistical tests were performed. In athletes, there is a negative aspect weak level between mindfulness with cognitive anxiety and physical anxiety. In addition, positive aspect weak level between mindfulness; track performance and a positive moderate significant relationship was found between mindfulness and self-confidence. Athletes with high levels of mindfulness experienced significantly lower levels of physical anxiety and felt higher levels of selfconfidence. Again, it was found that athletes with a high level of conscious awareness had a significantly higher level of track performance. With the high level of mindfulness of the athletes, their self-confidence can increase and their physical anxiety can decrease. Similarly, high mindfulness can increase the performance of athletes. Background: The study aimed to examine fear of COVID-19 and Coronavirus Anxiety as predictors of adherence to treatment in individuals diagnosed with epilepsy during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method and Material: The study was carried out in a university hospital. The research sample consisted of 154 epilepsy patients. The patient identification form, Coronavirus (Covid-19) Fear Scale, Coronavirus Anxiety Scale, and the Medication Adherence Report Scale (MARS) were used as data collection tools. The data were shown as percentages and mean ± standard deviation (SD), and Pearson/Spearmen correlation and linear regression analyses were used to examine the relationship between the variables. Results: The results of the analysis demonstrated that the model established for medication adherence in epilepsy patients was significant (F: 12,892, p < 0.001). In addition, for medication adherence, COVID-19 anxiety (β = -0.312), regular drug use (β = 0.242), seizure frequency (β = -0.234), and accommodation in the city center (β = -0.173) were found to be statistically significant predictors (p < 0.001). It was found that the variables explained 24% of the total variance. Conclusions: It should be remembered that infectious diseases such as COVID-19 can reoccur and that it is necessary to be prepared for new contagious diseases likely to occur. In case of the recurrence of infectious diseases such as COVID-19, it is important to conduct interventional/experimental studies on how to increase medication adherence of patients and how to reduce COVID-19 anxiety. This study aimed at analysing the correlation between the anxiety level of music teacher candidates during piano exams and possible causes of anxiety and their exam performance. The teacher candidates in the study group were given a questionnaire for piano exam anxiety. Anxiety levels of students and their opinions on causes of anxiety were determined with the data collected through the questionnaire that identified personal anxiety levels in piano exams and the causes of anxiety. The exam scores of students in the piano class who were given the questionnaire were determined and associated with their anxiety levels for comparison. Various statistical processes (mean, t test, Anova etc.) were used to find out anxiety levels and to make comparison. The study concluded that the students had high anxiety levels in general, and a significant part of students with high anxiety level had relatively lower performance in piano class. BACKGROUND: Cognitive deficits have been defined in patients with bilateral and unilateral vestibular loss. OBJECTIVE: To investigate cognitive functions in patients with episodic vestibular disorders. METHODS: Nineteen patients with Meniere's disease (MD), 19 patients with vestibular migraine (VM) and 21 age and education matched healthy controls were studied. Mini Mental State Examination assessing global mental status, Reading Span Test and the Stroop Test evaluating working memory, cognitive processing, reading comprehension and attention, Trail Making Test and Benton's Judgment of Line Orientation Test investigating visual processing, visuospatial skills, processing speed were used. Beck depression and anxiety inventories were given to evaluate the emotional status. RESULTS: Cognitive test results of the MD and VM patients were not significantly different from the healthy controls (p > 0.05) as well as Beck depression scores (p = 0.14). Beck anxiety scores showed significant difference (p = 0.003). VM patients had significantly higher scores than the healthy controls (p = 0.002) on pairwise comparisons. The scores of the MD patients did not reach statistical significance (p = 0.15). CONCLUSION: Episodic vestibular disorders like MD and VM without inter-ictal vestibular deficits do not seem to be associated with cognitive impairment. Objective: To investigate the effects of an individualized vestibular rehabilitation (VR) program on balance and gait performance and on self-perceived handicap in a group of vestibular migraine (VM) patients with associated anxiety. Methods: An 8-week prospective clinical trial of a VR program was conducted on 74 VM patients. The effects were evaluated with the modified Clinical Test of Sensory Integration in Balance (mCTSIB), the Dynamic Gait Index (DGI), and the Dizziness Handicap Inventory (DHI) before and after VR. The Panic Agoraphobic Spectrum Self-Report version (PAS-SR) was used to assess the patients' level of anxiety. Results: DGI and DHI parameters significantly improved after VR (p < 0.05). The fall rates of mCTSIB were significantly decreased on foam with eyes closed (chi-square: 4.934, p = 0.026), and on foam with head back and eyes closed (chi-square: 7.451, p = 0.006). Forty-three (58.1%) of 74 VM patients had panic-anxiety complaints in terms of PAS scores (a score of > 46 points indicates the presence of anxiety). Balance and gait performance as measured by DGI (p = 0.000), DHI (p = 0.000), and mCTSIB (p < 0.05) improved significantly after VR in both groups of VM patients: those with and without anxiety complaints (PAS scores > 46 points and < 46 points, respectively). Conclusion: Even VM patients with anxiety complaints benefited from vestibular exercises, and their imbalance complaints and perceived levels of handicap/disability improved. Individual specific vestibular exercises created with a clinical decision-making process provide functional improvement through vestibular compensation mechanisms. Objective: The study aimed to compare state and trait anxiety, blood pressure, and heart rate of patients with and without coronary angiography experience who undergo coronary angiography intervention. Methodology: This study is cross-sectional comparative research. A total of 160 patients, including 80 patients undergo for the first time coronary angiography and 80 patients with at least one experience of coronary angiography were included in the sample of the study. In the study, data were collected using 'Patient Information Form' and 'State-Trait Anxiety Inventory', blood pressure measurement device, and pulse oximeter. Results: The mean of state anxiety scores of the patients with and without CA experience were 39.35±5.31 and 39.98±4.04, respectively; (p=0.395). The mean of trait anxiety scores of the patients with and without CA experience were 44.73±6.84 and 44.51±6.05, respectively (p=0.826). There was no statistically significant difference observed in state and trait anxiety between two groups. Before the CA procedure, the systolic and diastolic blood pressure average of the patients with CA experience were statistically higher than those without CA experience (p<0.05). Conclusion: The anxiety levels of the patients before the CA were observed to be similar and moderate, regardless of their CA experience. Spatial orientation is achieved by integrating visual, vestibular and proprioceptive cues. Individuals that rely strongly upon visual cues to facilitate spatial orientation are termed visually dependent. Heightened visual reliance commonly occurs in patients following vestibular dysfunction and can influence clinical outcome. Additionally, psychological factors, including anxiety, are associated with poorer clinical outcome following vestibular dysfunction. Given that visual dependency measures are affected by psychological and contextual influences, such as time pressure, we investigated the interaction between time pressure and anxiety upon visual dependency in healthy controls and vestibular migraine patients. Visual dependency was assessed using a "Rod and Disk" task at baseline and under time pressure (3 s to complete the task). Non‐situational (trait) and situational (state) anxiety levels were quantified using the Spielberg State‐Trait Anxiety Inventory. We calculated the change in visual dependency (VD) [∆VD = VDtime pressure − VDbaseline] and correlated it with participants' trait anxiety scores. We observed a significant negative correlation between trait anxiety and the change in VD (R2 =.393, p <.001) in healthy controls and a positive correlation in dizzy patients (R2 =.317, p <.001). That is, healthy individuals that were more anxious became less visually dependent under time pressure (i.e., more accurate), whereas less anxious individuals became more visually dependent. The reverse was observed in vestibular migraine patients. Our results illustrate that anxiety can differentially modulate task performance during spatial orientation judgements under time pressure in healthy individuals and dizzy patients.
