With the rise in telehealth due to the COVID-19 pandemic, further research is needed to determine how to optimize virtual delivery of existing integrative oncology interventions for cancer treatment-related symptoms. The purpose of this qualitative analysis was to explore cancer survivors' perspectives of the acceptability and satisfaction of an 8-week, virtual yoga intervention for cancer survivors with chronic chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy pain. Fourteen participants with chronic chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy pain who completed the virtual yoga intervention were interviewed using a semistructured interview guide. Themes were derived from the data using inductive content analysis methods. Main findings from the interviews included the following: (1) participants were willing to try new nonpharmacological treatments for chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy due to the high symptom burden and prior lack of success with medications; (2) participants highly rated the flexibility offered by the virtual format, but desired the social support potentially offered by practicing in-person yoga; and (3) the impact of virtual yoga on chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy severity was unclear. There were several barriers to participants' use of virtual yoga for chronic chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy pain (eg, technology, lack of space/equipment). Purpose: To determine the feasibility of implementing a yoga intervention for cancer survivors with chronic CIPN pain, as well as the impact of the intervention on patient-reported outcomes., Methods: Cancer survivors with chronic CIPN pain were recruited from the breast, gastrointestinal, and gynecological oncology centers at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Participants were randomized (2:1) to receive an 8-week yoga intervention or usual care. After 21/50 of participants were enrolled, the COVID-19 pandemic required the yoga intervention to be delivered virtually (i.e., Zoom). Pre- and post-intervention, participants self-reported CIPN and co-occurring symptom severity. Adherence to the intervention was defined as practicing ≥ 12 yoga sessions over the 8-week intervention period. Changes in patient-reported outcomes between groups were compared using Wilcoxon's rank-sum tests., Results: Participants (n = 28 yoga, n = 16 control) were mainly female (96%) and diagnosed with stage III/IV disease (66%). Overall, 19/28 (67.8%) of yoga group participants were adherent to the yoga protocol. Yoga group participants experienced significant within-group improvements in all patient-reported outcomes, including worst CIPN pain (median change =  - 1.7, p < 0.0001) and sensory CIPN (median change =  - 14.8, p < 0.0001), but only improvements in fatigue (p = 0.05) and depression (p = 0.04) were significant compared to the control. There were no differences (p > 0.05) in changes in patient-reported outcomes between in-person (n = 6) or virtual (n = 15) yoga group participants., Conclusions: Yoga is a feasible non-pharmacological modality for cancer survivors with CIPN, but more information is needed regarding its impact on CIPN and other symptoms., Trial Registration: ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT03824860 IMPLICATIONS FOR CANCER SURVIVORS: Oncology clinicians may consider referring cancer survivors to yoga for chronic CIPN pain, but yoga cannot be currently recommended as an efficacious treatment., (© 2021. Objectives: Little is known about the biologic mechanisms of chronic chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) pain. The purpose of this secondary analysis was to explore salivary cortisol patterns among cancer survivors with chronic CIPN pain to provide preliminary data regarding the role of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal axis dysregulation in the pathophysiology of this condition., Sample & Setting: 13 cancer survivors with chronic CIPN pain recruited from the breast, gastrointestinal, and gynecologic cancer centers at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts., Methods & Variables: Salivary cortisol was collected on awakening, 30 minutes after awakening, and before going to bed on two consecutive days. Cortisol awakening response and diurnal cortisol slope were calculated by averaging results across two days., Results: Cortisol was available from 13 participants. The median cortisol awakening response was -0.03 mcg/dl, and the average diurnal cortisol slope was -0.24 mcg/dl., Implications for Nursing: Mechanism-based treatments are needed for cancer survivors with chronic CIPN pain. Nurse scientists may use study results to explore stress-related mechanisms of chronic CIPN pain.

Background: Checkpoint kinase 1 (CHK1) has dual roles in both the DNA damage response and in the innate immune response to genotoxic stress. The combination of CHK1 inhibition and immune checkpoint blockade has the potential to enhance anti-tumoral T-cell activation., Methods: This was an open-label phase 1 study evaluating the CHK1 inhibitor prexasertib and the anti-PD-L1 antibody LY3300054. After a lead-in of LY3300054 (Arm A), prexasertib (Arm B) or the combination (Arm C), both agents were administered intravenously at their respective recommended phase 2 doses (RP2Ds) on days 1 and 15 of a 28-day cycle. Flow cytometry of peripheral blood was performed before and during treatment to analyze effects on immune cell populations, with a focus on T cell subsets and activation. Plasma cytokines and chemokines were analyzed using the Luminex platform., Results: Among seventeen patients enrolled, the combination was tolerable at the monotherapy RP2Ds, 105 mg/m 2 prexasertib and 700 mg LY3300054. Dose-limiting toxicities included one episode each of febrile neutropenia (Arm C) and grade 4 neutropenia lasting > 5 days (Arm B). One patient had immune-related AST/ALT elevation after 12 cycles. Three patients with CCNE1-amplified, high-grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) achieved partial response (PR), 2 lasting > 12 months; a fourth such patient maintained stable disease > 12 months. Analysis of peripheral blood demonstrated evidence of CD8 + T-cell activation in response to treatment., Conclusions: Prexasertib in combination with PD-L1 blockade was tolerable and demonstrated preliminary activity in CCNE1-amplified HGSOC with evidence of cytotoxic T-cell activation in patient blood samples., Trial Registration: ClinicalTrials.gov identifier: NCT03495323. Purpose: Adverse events (AE) during oncology clinical trials are typically reported using the National Cancer Institute Common Terminology Criteria for Adverse Events (CTCAE), which provides information about the frequency and severity of AEs from the provider's perspective. Instruments that track patient-reported outcomes (PRO) complement the CTCAE and provide additional patient-centered information about the toxicity profile of an anti-cancer drug., Methods: We conducted a single-arm, open-label phase II study of eribulin as first- or second-line therapy for metastatic hormone receptor-positive/HER2-negative (HR+/HER2-) or triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC). Patients were recruited simultaneously into each cohort by tumor subtype. The primary endpoint was overall response rate (ORR). Secondary endpoints included evaluation of toxicity by CTCAE and PRO instruments and agreement between CTCAE and PRO. The study also investigated single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with treatment-induced neurotoxicity., Results: 83 patients were enrolled: 45 into the HR+/HER2- cohort and 38 into the TNBC cohort. The ORR was 35.6% (90% CI 24-39%) in the HR+/HER2- cohort and 13.2% (90% CI 5-26%) in the TNBC cohort. Stable disease as the best response was recorded in 55.1% of patients with HR+/HER2- disease and 60.5% with TNBC. Toxicity analysis revealed a discordance between CTCAE and PRO assessment in many patients, with a focus on fatigue, alopecia, and neuropathy. Pharmacogenomic analysis identified SNPs associated with treatment-induced peripheral neuropathy., Conclusions: Eribulin is active in HER2- breast cancer. This study reveals that provider-assessed AEs can vary greatly from patient experiences. Future studies should incorporate CTCAE and PRO instruments to improve reporting of treatment-related AEs. Background: Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) is one of the most debilitating long-term side effects in breast cancer survivors. We conducted a randomized controlled pilot trial to assess the feasibility, safety, and effects of an acupuncture intervention on CIPN in this population., Patients and Methods: Women with stage I-III breast cancer with grade 1 or higher CIPN after taxane-containing adjuvant chemotherapy were randomized 1:1 to an immediate acupuncture (IA) arm or to a waitlist control group (CG). Participants in the IA arm received 18 sessions of acupuncture over 8 weeks, then received no additional acupuncture. Patients in the CG arm received usual care over 8 weeks, followed by nine sessions of acupuncture over 8 weeks. Measures including Patient Neurotoxicity Questionnaire (PNQ), Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy-Neurotoxicity subscale (FACT-NTX), and Brief Pain Inventory-short form (BPI-SF) were collected at baseline and at 4, 8, and 16 weeks after enrollment., Results: Forty women (median age, 54) were enrolled (20 to IA and 20 to CG), with median time between completion of chemotherapy and enrollment of 14 months (range 1-92). At 8 weeks, participants in the IA arm experienced significant improvements in PNQ sensory score (-1.0 ± 0.9 vs. -0.3 ± 0.6; p = .01), FACT-NTX summary score (8.7 ± 8.9 vs. 1.2 ± 5.4; p = .002), and BPI-SF pain severity score (-1.1 ± 1.7 vs. 0.3 ± 1.5; p = .03), compared with those in the CG arm. No serious side effects were observed., Conclusion: Women with CIPN after adjuvant taxane therapy for breast cancer experienced significant improvements in neuropathic symptoms from an 8-week acupuncture treatment regimen. Additional larger studies are needed to confirm these findings., Implications for Practice: Chemotherapy-induced peripheral neuropathy (CIPN) is a toxicity that often persists for months to years after the completion of adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer. In a randomized pilot trial of 40 breast cancer survivors with CIPN, an 8-week acupuncture intervention (vs. usual care) led to a statistically and clinically significant improvement in subjective sensory symptoms including neuropathic pain and paresthesia. Expression of inhibitors of apoptosis protein (IAP) family members is associated with poor prognosis in cancer patients. Immunity to ML-IAP (livin) and survivin has been well studied in patients with a variety of tumors. XIAP, the most potent inhibitor of apoptosis, is widely expressed in melanoma. To better define its potential role as an immunogenic target, cellular and humoral responses to XIAP were investigated in patients with advanced melanoma. An overlapping peptide library covering the full length of the XIAP protein was used to screen T cell responses of peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) from stage-IV melanoma patients treated with or without anti-CTLA4 (ipilimumab). The screen identified an array of peptides that predominantly induced CD4 + T cell responses. XIAP epitope-specific CD4 + T cells revealed proliferative responses to melanoma cells that express XIAP. Humoral responses to XIAP were also explored. Cellular and humoral responses to XIAP were associated with beneficial clinical outcomes after ipilimumab-based treatment, supporting XIAP as a potential therapeutic target.

Importance: Programmed cell death 1 (PD-1) inhibitor-related pneumonitis is a rare but clinically serious and potentially life-threatening adverse event. Little is known about its incidence across different tumor types and treatment regimens., Objective: To compare the incidence of PD-1 inhibitor-related pneumonitis among different tumor types and therapeutic regimens., Data Sources: A PubMed search through November 10, 2015, and a review of references from relevant articles. For the PubMed search, the following keywords or corresponding Medical Subject Heading terms were used: nivolumab, pembrolizumab, and PD-1 inhibitor., Study Selection: Twenty-six original articles of PD-1 inhibitor trial results were identified. Among them, 20 studies of melanoma, non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), or renal cell carcinoma (RCC) were eligible for a meta-analysis., Data Extraction and Synthesis: The data were extracted by 1 primary reviewer and then independently reviewed by 2 secondary reviewers following Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines. Comparisons of the incidence were based on marginal, exact generalized linear models with generalized estimating equations., Main Outcomes and Measures: Incidence of all-grade and grade 3 or higher pneumonitis and pneumonitis-related deaths., Results: Twenty studies of single-tumor-type trials of PD-1 inhibitor (12 melanoma studies, 5 NSCLC studies, and 3 RCC studies) (a total of 4496 unique patients) were included in the meta-analysis. The overall incidence of pneumonitis during PD-1 inhibitor monotherapy was 2.7% (95% CI, 1.9%-3.6%) for all-grade and 0.8% (95% CI, 0.4%-1.2%) for grade 3 or higher pneumonitis. The incidence was higher in NSCLC for all-grade (4.1% vs 1.6%; P = .002) and grade 3 or higher pneumonitis (1.8% vs 0.2%; P < .001) compared with melanoma. The incidence in RCC was higher than in melanoma for all-grade pneumonitis (4.1% vs 1.6%; P < .001) but not for grade 3 or higher pneumonitis. Four pneumonitis-related deaths were observed in patients with NSCLC in the monotherapy group. Pneumonitis was more frequent during combination therapy than monotherapy for all-grade (6.6% vs 1.6%; P < .001) and grade 3 or higher pneumonitis (1.5% vs 0.2%; P = .001) in melanoma, with 1 pneumonitis-related death during combination therapy. Multivariable analyses demonstrated higher odds of pneumonitis in NSCLC for all-grade (odds ratio [OR], 1.43; 95% CI, 1.08-1.89; P = .005) and grade 3 or higher pneumonitis (OR, 2.85; 95% CI, 1.60-5.08; P < .001) and in RCC for all-grade pneumonitis (OR, 1.59; 95% CI, 1.32-1.92; P < .001) compared with melanoma. The combination therapy had significantly higher odds than monotherapy for all-grade (OR, 2.04; 95% CI, 1.69-2.50; P < .001) and grade 3 or higher pneumonitis (OR, 2.86; 95% CI, 1.79- 4.35; P < .001)., Conclusions and Relevance: The incidence of PD-1 inhibitor-related pneumonitis was higher in NSCLC and RCC and during combination therapy. These findings contribute to enhance awareness among clinicians and support further investigations to meet the clinical needs.

Epigenetic alterations by histone/protein deacetylases (HDACs) are one of the many mechanisms that cancer cells use to alter gene expression and promote growth. HDAC inhibitors have proven to be effective in the treatment of specific malignancies, particularly in combination with other anticancer agents. We conducted a phase I trial of panobinostat in patients with unresectable stage III or IV melanoma. Patients were treated with oral panobinostat at a dose of 30 mg daily on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays (Arm A). Three of the six patients on this dose experienced clinically significant thrombocytopenia requiring dose interruption. Due to this, a second treatment arm was opened and the dose was changed to 30 mg oral panobinostat three times a week every other week (Arm B). Six patients were treated on Arm A and 10 patients were enrolled to Arm B with nine patients treated. In nine patients treated on Arm B, the response rate was 0% (90% confidence interval [CI]: 0-28%) and the disease-control rate was 22% (90% CI: 4-55%). Among all 15 patients treated, the overall response rate was 0% (90% CI: 0-17%) and the disease-control rate was 27% (90% CI: 10-51%). There was a high rate of toxicity associated with treatment. Correlative studies suggest the presence of immune modifications after HDAC inhibition. Panobinostat is not active as a single agent in the treatment of melanoma. Background: Patients with mucosal and acral melanomas have limited treatment options and a poor prognosis. Mutations of the KIT oncogene in these melanoma subtypes provide a potential therapeutic target., Methods: A multicenter phase 2 trial of sunitinib was conducted in patients with unresectable stage III or IV melanoma of a mucosal or acral primary origin. Patients were treated in 2 cohorts: cohort A received sunitinib at a dose of 50 mg daily for 4 weeks of a 6-week cycle, and cohort B received sunitinib at a dose of 37.5 mg daily on a continuous basis. Dose reductions were permitted for treatment-related toxicities, and tumor assessments were performed every 2 months., Results: Fifty-two patients were enrolled: 21 in cohort A and 31 in cohort B. Four patients had confirmed partial responses, which lasted 5 to 10 months (1 with a KIT mutation). In both cohorts, the proportion of patients alive and progression-free at 2 months was 52% (95% confidence interval, 38%-66%); this was significantly larger than the hypothesized null of 5%. There was no significant difference in response or overall survival between the 25% of patients with a KIT mutation and those without one (response rate, 7.7% vs 9.7%; overall survival, 6.4 vs 8.6 months). The overall disease control rate was 44%, and a high rate of toxicity was associated with the treatment., Conclusions: Sunitinib showed activity in the treatment of mucosal and acral melanoma that was not dependent on the presence of a KIT mutation. Purpose: Although durable responses can be achieved with tyrosine kinase inhibitors such as imatinib in melanomas harboring KIT mutations, the efficacy of alternative inhibitors after progression to imatinib and the activity of these agents on brain metastases are unknown., Experimental Design: We conducted a phase II study of nilotinib 400 mg twice a day in two cohorts of patients with melanomas harboring KIT mutations or amplification: (A) those refractory or intolerant to a prior KIT inhibitor; and (B) those with brain metastases. The primary endpoint was 4-month disease control rate. Secondary endpoints included response rate, time-to-progression (TTP), and overall survival (OS). A Simon two-stage and a single-stage design was planned to assess for the primary endpoint in cohorts A and B, respectively., Results: Twenty patients were enrolled and 19 treated (11 in cohort A; 8 in cohort B). Three patients on cohort A [27%; 95% confidence interval (CI), 8%-56%] and 1 on cohort B (12.5%; 90% CI, 0.6%-47%) achieved the primary endpoint. Two partial responses were observed in cohort A (18.2%; 90% CI, 3%-47%); none were observed in cohort B. The median TTP and OS was 3.3 (90% CI, 2.1-3.9 months) and 9.1 months (90% CI, 4.3-14.2 months), respectively, in all treated patients., Conclusions: Nilotinib may achieve disease control in patients with melanoma harboring KIT alterations and whose disease progressed after imatinib therapy. Purpose: To examine the onset and outcome of ipilimumab-related hypophysitis and the response to treatment with systemic high-dose corticosteroids (HDS)., Experimental Design: Twenty-five patients who developed ipilimumab-related hypophysitis were analyzed for the incidence, time to onset, time to resolution, frequency of resolution, and the effect of systemic HDS on clinical outcome. To calculate the incidence, the total number (187) of patients with metastatic melanoma treated with ipilimumab at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI; Boston, MA) was retrieved from the DFCI oncology database. Comparisons between corticosteroid treatment groups were performed using the Fisher exact test. The distributions of overall survival were based on the method of Kaplan-Meier., Results: The overall incidence of ipilimumab-related hypophysitis was 13%, with a higher rate in males (16.1%) than females (8.7%). The median time to onset of hypophysitis after initiation of ipilimumab treatment was 9 weeks (range, 5-36 weeks). Resolution of pituitary enlargement, secondary adrenal insufficiency, secondary hypothyroidism, male secondary hypogonadism, and hyponatremia occurred in 73%, 0%, 64%, 45%, and 92% of patients, respectively. Systemic HDS treatment did not improve the outcome of hypophysitis as measured by resolution frequency and time to resolution. One-year overall survival in the cohort of patients was 83%, and while it was slightly higher in patients who did not receive HDS, there was no statistically significant difference between treatment arms., Conclusion: Systemic HDS therapy in patients with ipilimumab-related hypophysitis may not be indicated. Background: In patients with metastatic melanoma and KIT amplifications and/or mutations, therapy with imatinib mesylate may prolong survival. 18F-labeled 2-fluoro-2-deoxy-D-glucose (18F-FDG) PET/CT may be used to assess metabolic response. We investigated associations of metabolic response, mutational status, progression-free survival and overall survival in this population., Methods: Baseline and 4-week follow-up 18F-FDG-PET/CT were evaluated in 17 patients with metastatic melanoma and KIT amplifications and/or mutations treated with imatinib in a multicenter phase II clinical trial. The maximum standardized uptake values (SUVmax) were measured in up to 10 lesions on each scan. Metabolic response was classified using modified EORTC criteria. Each patient had a diagnostic CT or MR at baseline, after 6 weeks of therapy and then at intervals of 2 months and anatomic response was classified using RECIST 1.0. Median follow-up was 9.8 months., Results: Partial metabolic response (PMR), stable metabolic disease (SMD) and progressive metabolic disease (PMD) was seen in 5 (29%), 5 (29%), and 7 (41%) patients respectively. Five patients (29%) had a KIT mutation in exon 11, four of whom (80%) had PMR while 1 (20%) had SMD. Twelve patients (71%) did not have a KIT mutation in exon 11, and only 1 (8%) had PMR, 4 (33%) had SMD and 7 (58%) had PMD. There was agreement of metabolic and anatomic classification in 12 of 17 patients (71%). Four of 17 patients (24%) had PR on both metabolic and anatomic imaging and all had a KIT mutation in exon 11. Survival of patients with PMD was lower than with SMD or PMR., Conclusions: Metabolic response by 18F-FDG-PET/CT is associated with mutational status in metastatic melanoma patients treated with imatinib. 18F-FDG-PET/CT may be a predictor of outcome, although a larger study is needed to verify this., Clinical Trial Registration: NCT00424515.

Purpose: To evaluate the prognostic and predictive value of Ki-67 labeling index (LI) in a trial comparing letrozole (Let) with tamoxifen (Tam) as adjuvant therapy in postmenopausal women with early breast cancer., Patients and Methods: Breast International Group (BIG) trial 1-98 randomly assigned 8,010 patients to four treatment arms comparing Let and Tam with sequences of each agent. Of 4,922 patients randomly assigned to receive 5 years of monotherapy with either agent, 2,685 had primary tumor material available for central pathology assessment of Ki-67 LI by immunohistochemistry and had tumors confirmed to express estrogen receptors after central review. The prognostic and predictive value of centrally measured Ki-67 LI on disease-free survival (DFS) were assessed among these patients using proportional hazards modeling, with Ki-67 LI values dichotomized at the median value of 11%., Results: Higher values of Ki-67 LI were associated with adverse prognostic factors and with worse DFS (hazard ratio [HR; high:low] = 1.8; 95% CI, 1.4 to 2.3). The magnitude of the treatment benefit for Let versus Tam was greater among patients with high tumor Ki-67 LI (HR [Let:Tam] = 0.53; 95% CI, 0.39 to 0.72) than among patients with low tumor Ki-67 LI (HR [Let:Tam] = 0.81; 95% CI, 0.57 to 1.15; interaction P = .09)., Conclusion: Ki-67 LI is confirmed as a prognostic factor in this study. High Ki-67 LI levels may identify a patient group that particularly benefits from initial Let adjuvant therapy.

Background: Prognosis for patients with metastatic melanoma has been improved dramatically with the development of BRAF/MEK directed therapy and immune checkpoint inhibition. However, resistance to therapy remains a challenge, particularly with BRAF/MEK targeted therapy which often has a limited duration of efficacy. Pre-clinical data suggest that adding CSF1 inhibition to BRAF/MEK targeted therapy may reduce resistance and increase efficacy. Methods: We performed a phase I/II study to determine the safety and efficacy of CSF1 inhibition with MCS110 in combination with BRAF/MEK inhibition with dabrafenib/trametinib in patients with BRAF V600E/K mutant metastatic melanoma. The trial was terminated early due to a decision by the study sponsor to cease further development of MCS110. Results: Between September 2018 to July 2019 six patients were enrolled on the study. Patients were evenly split between female (50%) and male (50%) with a median age of 59.5 yrs. (26–71). Five patients experienced grade 3 toxicities that were possibly related to one of the therapies, there were no grade 4 or grade 5 events. One patient had a partial response (PR) by RECIST 1.1, one patient had stable disease (SD), 3 patients had disease progression (PD). Median progression free survival was 2.3 months (90% CI: 1.3 mos to not reached). Conclusion: MCS110 in combination with dabrafenib and trametinib was reasonably well tolerated in a small melanoma population. PURPOSE Enterocolitis is among the leading adverse events associated with immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs). There are limited retrospective data regarding the safety of ICIs in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD; ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease) because they have been generally excluded from clinical trials testing ICIs. Furthermore, there are no outcome data available in patients with microscopic colitis, a leading cause of chronic diarrhea. We aimed to study the safety of ICIs in patients with cancer with pre-existing IBD or microscopic colitis. METHODS We retrospectively reviewed the records of patients with cancer treated at our institution who received at least 1 dose of either a programmed cell death-1 (PD-1)/PD-1 ligand inhibitor, cytotoxic T-lymphocyteassociated antigen 4 inhibitor, or both between 2011 and 2018. We identified patients with pre-existing IBD or microscopic colitis. RESULTS Of 548 patients with solid tumor treated with an ICI, we identified 25 with pre-existing colitis (21 IBD; 4 microscopic colitis). An enterocolitis flare occurred in 7 patients (28%): 3 of 4 patients (75%) with microscopic colitis and 4 of 21 (19%) with IBD. All were treated with systemic corticosteroids, 2 required an anti–tumor necrosis factor agent, and one required an anti-integrin agent and colectomy for treatment of refractory colitis. ICI therapy was discontinued in all patients who experienced an enterocolitis flare. CONCLUSION In our cohort, exacerbation of enterocolitis occurred in a notable percentage of patients with IBD and a majority of patients with microscopic colitis, leading to discontinuation of ICIs. Although these data suggest that patients with cancer with pre-existing IBD/microscopic colitis may be treated with ICIs, additional studies are needed to validate our results. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
