Abstract: The article presents a study that examines the impact of antihypertensive drugs on the platelet serotonin levels in hypertensive patients. It defines serotonin as bioamine, which is synthesized from L-tryptophan mainly in enterochromaffin cells of gastrointestinal tract. It states that the study was participated by 90 patients with hypertension. According to the article, the platelet serotonin levels were accordingly determined in venous blood samples.
