The article discusses the relationship between human variability and ergonomic design in anthropology. Among the manifestations of human variability are differences in body shape, size and physical capacities. It also cites the need to consider the modalities in which people grow old when designing products and services for the elderly and developing occupational policies of aged workers. Also cited is the 2007 study by the European Agency for Safety and Health in Europe on the issues.
