In this paper, a CPW-fed compact antenna with tri-band reject characteristics is presented and experimentally verified. A curved ground plane is introduced to enhance the bandwidth to 250 MHz. The sectoral patch antenna has a T-strip and Y-slot to reject WLAN (4.78 ∼ 5.68 GHz) and WiMAX (3.385 ∼ 3.97 GHz), respectively. L-strips are placed in the ground plane to increase the bandwidth as well as the plane to reject uplink satellite frequency in the X-band (7.93 ∼ 8.74 GHz). In all notch bands, high VSWR values are observed. The structure is compact with a size of 15 × 12 × 0.8 mm3. To study the effect of strip/slot on VSWR, parametric analysis is done. The notch frequency is theoretically calculated by an empirical formula. The measured result validates the simulated and calculated notch frequencies. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This paper proposes a co-planar waveguide-fed circularly polarized L-band antenna for GNSS Applications. The Fibonacci series inspired us to decide the physical dimensions of the radiating structure. The proposed antenna with the dimensions of 60 × 40 × 0.8 mm3 is fabricated by etching out several slots from the patch and ground plane as well. The circular polarization (CP) behavior is observed from different shaped slots in the ground plane as well as in radiating patches. A novel Log periodic patch with a circular slot antenna has been presented here, the perturbation of the shape of the antenna has been done by combining a triangular shape with a semicircular shape. The antenna proposed here is with a DGS structure on its ground plane and its effects on bandwidth and gain enhancement of the antenna are analyzed. The substrate of FR-epoxy material with length, breadth and height 170 mm, 50 mm and 1.6 mm, respectively is taken for implementation of the antenna on it. This proposed antenna operates at 12 GHz to 18 GHz which includes Ku-band with return loss below-10 dB. The parameters of antenna like S-parameters, antenna gain, directivity, VSWR, surface current distribution and radiation efficiency are determined one by one to ascertain its better performance. In this article, a microstrip antenna having circular polarization switching capability is presented. This antenna consists of a circular-shaped radiating patch with a single co-axial probe feed line. The polarization reconfigurability is achieved by introducing four symmetrical U-shaped slots and silicon PIN diodes on the radiating patch. A prototype of the design is fabricated on an FR-4 substrate with overall dimension of 70 × 70 × 1.6 mm to verify the performances. The measured results of the antenna exhibit an impedance bandwidth (S11 < −10 dB) of 5% in the frequency range of 2.37–2.49 GHz. The maximum gain of the antenna is found to be 2.99 dBic at 2.43 GHz. The antenna shows stable radiation performances at 2.4 GHz with 4.1% of 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth, and more than 105° of 3-dB axial ratio beamwidth for both right-hand circular polarization and left -hand circular polarization which make it suitable for ISM band Smart city applications. A novel design of printed CPW-fed planar elliptical slot antenna with transformed circular patch is presented here for dual-band application. The obtained impedance band finds application in lower C-band satellite communication and entire X-band with significant gain. Electromagnetic wave simulator HFSS® is used to simulate the structure and the study of parameter behaviour is carried out. The performance of the proposed antenna in terms of return loss, radiation pattern and gain are analysed. Furthermore, the same structure is designed and simulated with microstrip feed line. An imperial formula in terms of axial length and ellipticity ratio of the elliptical slot is formulated to find the lower edge frequency of impedance bandwidth. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This letter introduces a compact elliptically‐slotted patch antenna with Ku band reject characterizes. The proposed antenna works in the super wide range of frequency band stretched beyond the UWB. The slots in the radiating patch take the shape of ellipse and are present in such a manner that the double of their ellipticity follow the Fibonacci series. The perturbed‐diamond‐shaped patch without the slot radiates in the frequency range from 4.19 to 21.88 GHz with a bandwidth of 17.67 GHz. The same patch antenna with the elliptical‐slots rejects Ku band from 12.89 to 16.22 GHz. In this paper the conventional circular patch has been reshaped by two circular arcs with the FR4 Epoxy material for substrate. This is supported by the mathematical calculations of resonant frequencies with the help of Bressels function. The proposed antenna has been designed and simulated using Ansys HFSS version 15 software. The modifications which are implemented on the conventional circular patch leads to a unique geometry having two arcs separated by a certain distance. Here an optimized distance, equal to the free space wavelength λ0 has been taken into account. An optimized circular slot is also implemented to enhance the bandwidth. The simulated and the measured results of the parameters like S11, VSWR have been compared. Design and analysis of a microwave passive network providing multiple phase difference of 0°, 90°, 180° and 270° within broadband 2.6 GHz to 4.0 GHz is proposed and experimentally verified. The network consists of a wideband microstrip balun, two double coupled line 90° phase shifters and three Wilkinson power dividers. The device has −10 dB impedance bandwidth of 42% and its insertion loss varies from 7.55 dB to 7.86 dB within the band. The measured amplitude and phase imbalance between four output ports are within 0.3 dB and ±6° respectively over the required band. The measured isolation among different output ports of the device are below −15 dB. The broadband multiple phase shifting characteristic with equal amplitude value, simple microstrip design technique make the device suitable for polarization agile antennas and an alternative over existing single phase shifters used in many wireless systems. This communication presents a new dual-band, compact, and low-cost square-shaped dielectric resonator antenna (SDRA). A square dielectric, Alumina_96 pct of compact dimension 10 × 10 × 3 mm3 is mounted on the coplanar ground on the top of the substrate RO4003. The antenna is excited by employing the aperture coupling method via a rectangular-ring slot. This newly designed slot-coupled SDRA exhibits wide dual-band characteristics, resonating at frequencies 8.65 GHz and 11.08 GHz. The proposed compact SDRA is fabricated. The fabricated SDRA is measured for evaluation of its performance parameters. The measured results are fairly matching with the simulation results. The gain and efficiency at 8.65 GHz in the lower band are measured as 6.25 dBi and 96 %, respectively. The gain of the upper band is maintained at 4.32 dBi with an efficiency of 94.56 %.
