Abstract

The author offers information regarding the 60th anniversary of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society. She also presents a brief discussion of the various topics discusses in the columns over the course of the year. There is a social responsiveness to the professional needs of members and communications in 1968 between the Society and the Chapters. From 1973 to 1986, membership declined and there is an examination of the benefits of memberships. The number and quality level of papers in 1983 was presented at the annual Symposium.

Abstract

The author reflects on which high-value commodity could be put forward for the 100th Jubilee spot in the U.S. as of July 2012. He believes the link between an anniversary and the particular commodity associated with it could be proportional to the item's value, such as paper, cotton and leather celebrating the first five years. He is proposing oil, which has reached a price of around 100 U.S. dollars per barrel (bbl), to have that 100th Jubilee spot.

Abstract

The article reports that Esquire magazine is planning to incorporate electronic paper technology on the cover of its October 2008 issue to celebrate its 75th anniversary. Vizplex flexible display from E Ink Corp. is expected to be embedded on the anniversary issue of the magazine. One hundred copies are to be distributed on newsstands.
