In this paper we present a new low-cost disposable reference electrode. The construction of the electrode is based on a microfibre matrix, e.g., filter paper, which is filled with a redox electrolyte solution. The disposable reference electrode shows a reproducible and stable potential, which is little affected by the composition of the measuring solution.
